The Dallas Morning News reports that the Preston Hollow People newspaper has found a real estate brochure from 2007 that “offers a peek at what the Preston Hollow home of George and Laura Bush looked like before the couple moved from Washington.” Their new ranch-style home at 10141 Daria Place has 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, “a library, a limestone fireplace, a gallery, a large play room, and a marble bath.” The Preston Hollow article notes that a $3.1 million loan had been issued for the home in October 2008 but also that the home’s market value is appraised at $2.1 million.

May 20th, 2009 at 4:04 pmUm…so?
Not for nothing, but I don’t care about Bush’s private life. Nor do I want people prying into Obama’s private life.
Really…it’s just a house.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:04 pmI really don’t care…
May 20th, 2009 at 4:09 pmI pray for a tornado to come down on a certain house in Dallas.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:10 pmI know I’m supposed to care about this but for some reason I just can’t seem to find it within myself to. I sincerely apologize. (banging head on desk)
May 20th, 2009 at 4:11 pmWe should all just be happy that hes in that house in Texas and not the Whitehouse anymore.

May 20th, 2009 at 4:20 pmWell, I wish for him the good fortune of the real estate market than I have enjoyed (and most everyone in the country, thanks to this cowboy).
And that in another six months his humble little shack will be worth $1.1 million. Then maybe $750,000.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:20 pmwouldn’t it be poetic justice if they got electrocuted whilst relaxing in their jacuzzi-spa?

May 20th, 2009 at 4:29 pmBush is a murderer who belongs in a 8by10 cell, not a house that cost over 2 million dollars. He has destroyed so many peoples lives all over the world. How does that piece of crap sleep at night?

Don’t be so lazy. Just use “The Google” they are all out there.
Bush is basically under house arrest of his own doing anyway. Gated community? To keep him in I guess.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:31 pmBush’s new home should be a 3′x9′ cell decorated with a stained toilet, bars and a soiled sagging mattress with cot…. nothing more.

Very nice. Any pictures of the Kennedy compound? or the Kerry estate? Jon Corzine’s Jersey palace must be nice. I’d love to see the Rockefeller estate. Do you have pictures of the homes of any of those Democratic party paupers?
_____________________________________________________________
There probably aren’t too many interior pictures of the residences you mention — at least not like these. The practice of taking interior pictures of homes put on the market and posting them with the listing on the internet has only been in practice for the past decade or so (and the listings aren’t often saved after the house is sold). I suspect it was just luck that this property made it into a real estate brochure that survived.
The Kennedy compound hasn’t been on the market recently; nor has the Kerry estate. I can’t answer about Corzine’s home — I don’t know his residential history. But why do you bring these people up? Did you think that TP is somehow picking on Bush by posting these pictures? Are you trying to invoke some sort of Fairness Doctrine here? I’m not reading a slam into this — it looks like a nice house. I’m sure the Kennedy and Kerry homes are nice, too.

CFP, your not throwing any weight around TP, beleive me your not. I guess you like being under the bus?
You always intrigue me with your misnomers and again you have another one when you say, “most of the wealthiest politicians are Democrats.” All politicians are wealthy and your starting to sound like that “crazy” heifer named Bachmann.
Who’s creating class envy? I’m sure there are some well to do people who post on TP.

I don’t think the house is ostentatious or a big deal at all for an ex-President who comes from a family of old money.
May 20th, 2009 at 5:32 pmIt just seems very different from that ‘ranch’ that Bush supposedly loved so much.
Is there any brush for him to clear at the new place?
I would think that’s something he would look for in a house since he seemed to enjoy clearing brush so much.

CFP, Where have you been as most of Americans have seen these estates. Besides, Corzine is still in office so he most likely lives in the NJ Governor residence, we have all seen the Kennedy Compound, I’ve been inside their compound. So what’s wrong with showing Bush’s Torture Estate, it is public record?
I wanna see Bush’s Torture Room with Cheney’s picture hanging on the wall in the name of ‘Freedom’ remember what the inept Bush said about Cheney?
“I hope one day I can clone another Dick Cheney. Then I won’t have to do anything.”

I can only hope the shower plumbing was contracted to KBR…
I think it’s so sweet that the people of the 9th Ward can now see what George’s house looks like.
He calls the “study” the “stare at the wall.”
What does George need a marble bath for? He lost all his…
He’ll have a neon sign over the bar that says, “Mixers Accomplished…”
At Halloween, kids will come to the house and give him pretzels.

That’s actually a euphemism for the bathroom.
You remember. That’s where he keeps his “Constitution” toilet paper. Bush used a lot of it in his eight years in office.
May 20th, 2009 at 6:26 pmI think TP’s point is that he’s supposed to be such a cowboy on his ranch, loving to clear brush and herd cattle, etc.

I’ve been to Gore’s house and it is very “green” and “environmentally” friendly I have rebuild two houses using his house as a blueprint. I would rather raise my kids at Gore’s house than at Bush’s “Torture Estate.”

May 20th, 2009 at 6:43 pmThe Bush Family has billions in shares but little in cash flow. George W. Bush had to pay Laura for the second term in office to keep the faith marriage going to trick the Christian Base. Now as GW is a drug addicted and depressed Daddy Bush will have to sell some shares to help his son. The Bush Family is heavy in oil shares and it’s not doing well now. Like most Rich people who fine themselves out of the inter circle GW will follow those of the pass. Many Wealthy people who lost their money in the Madoff scam killed themselves. It’s hard for some Greedy Rich people to live like normal people. Those who earned the riches honestly will build it back. The Bush children are users and will feed off Daddy Bush and then when he gone they will fight for his money. Dick Cheney would have been able to buy that house out right and with his pure evil self laugh about it.
May 20th, 2009 at 7:03 pmSo is it now cool to end sentences with “That’s a fact”? I still prefer “as foretold by prophecy”…
May 20th, 2009 at 7:15 pmAn 8 x 10 foot jail cell would be more appropriate.

Frankly, I don’t care how much money a pol has as long as he or she came by it honestly and shows some concern for the less fortunate. I think most of the liberal commenters would agree. On the other hand, there are pols who got rich dirty, failed to help the needy, caused pain and misery for a lot of people, and ought to be in jail for their crimes.
Back in Chicago, Al Capone’s old house is up for sale . . .
In 1989 . . . some historians pushed to make the home a landmark on the National Register. The effort failed, however, amid protests from many in the city’s Italian-American community who objected to glorifying a ruthless criminal.
Historians say Capone was careful to make the Prairie Avenue home a safe haven. It was his mother, Teresa, and wife, Mae, who signed their names to the original deed. “It’s because it’s off the beaten path and a lot of people don’t know about it that it’s been able to survive . . . He wanted something low-key and out of the way, which is exactly what he got . . . Considering its history, the home is a marvel of understatement, and is as inconspicuous on that street as the day the gangster and his family moved in.
May 20th, 2009 at 9:20 pmCrap. That is far, far better than that filthy war criminal deserves: an 6′x8′ concrete cell.

That’s not the point. TP linked to this in one of their earlier posts on the house:
“The home also appears to offer something to satisfy both Mr. and Mrs. Bush.
The first lady no doubt will appreciate Dallas’ cosmopolitan features.
The outdoorsman in Mr. Bush, meanwhile, can enjoy rustic aspects of his new address. His future neighbor, Mr. Fletcher, reports that the trees on Daria Place are home to screech owls and hawks. The occasional coyote wanders up a channel of Bachman Creek. ”
“And Dallas is only a few hours’ drive or a hop by air from the Bush ranch in Crawford, where Mr. and Mrs. Bush still plan on spending a good deal of time.”

Hey Pal, would you like over 4,500 pictures on the walls of your home because that president that you’re so proud of, invaded the wrong country after 9-11. In case you don’t get it…that is about the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq. Pure slaughter, the GOP is sick with torture & greed.

After all, it was an eight year lie-fest — W can now rest. Rest, please rest. You cur.
