Liberty University has announced that it will no longer recognize its student-run Democratic club. The university, founded by televangelist Rev. Jerry Falwell, states that officials “are unable to lend support to a club whose parent organization stands against the moral principles held by” the university. Liberty’s College Democrats have been barred from using the university’s name, holding campus meetings, or advertising events. Liberty’s Vice President of Student Affairs claims “we are in no way attempting to stifle free speech.” Liberty’s College Democrats were recognized with the “Virginia Area Young Democrats Up-and-Coming Chapter of the Year” award in April. Following President Obama’s election last year, Liberty Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. told students:
“My father always said you can disagree without being disagreeable, and that’s the message we’re trying to teach these kids [...] We’re all part of the same LU community.”
Brian Diaz, President of Liberty’s College Democrats, notes that the Liberty College Republicans continue to operate on campus. Just last month, Liberty College Republicans’ Melinda Zosh told The Liberty Champion that it is important to have a College Republicans and a College Democrats on any university campus.
I smell a lawsuit…
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pmShouldn’t this university be called “Anti-Liberty University?
This makes the case for young people not relating to this nonsense and gibberish of the reichwingnuttery.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pmWasn’t a troll just trying to make a point this morning about how the “fascists” on the Left hate dissenting views?
I’m looking forward to him making the case that Liberty “University” is a liberal fascist school and the Student Democrats at LU are actually the conservatives.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pmThey need to have their butts sued off by the ACLU……I smell that familiar letigenous scent….There goes the Falwell fortune.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pmWhy would a Democrat, even a young one, want a degree from LU? I wouldn’t be able to put it on a resume, or hang it on my office wall.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:40 pmHow did anything founded by Falwell come to be named ‘Liberty’?
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:42 pmWhy would a democrat attend that fascist, anti-american school anyway? Liberty is not much different from the KKK of the past – an exclusive club of group-thinking hatefilled jerks with closed minds, but who are, on the inside, so afraid of people who don’t ascribe to their group think that they eliminate them.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:43 pm“we are in no way attempting to stifle free speech.”
So freedom of speech only applies to Repukes now?
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:44 pmUniversity to Democrats: you aren’t Christians.
Democrats to University: you aren’t Americans.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:44 pmI can only guess then that the “moral principles held by the university” that the Democratic Party Club is against are kidnapping, torture, murder, corporate greed, etc.
You know, the very same morals that Jesus so often supported!
Keep up the righteous good work of the Lord, Liberty University!
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:45 pmIs it a private U and therefore immune from violation of civil liberties?
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:48 pmLiberty University’s newest major: American Talibanology.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:48 pmMy guess is that the LU College Democrats consist of genuine liberal kids whose attendance at the school is a result of family pressures or expectations, or kids who just naturally rebel against whatever status quo they find themselves dealing with.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:50 pmA few of the students in the Democratic Club, not enough to draw suspicion, should start another little club with a Christian sounding name (ex. Disciple Emulating the Master) and be an underground Dem Club.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:50 pmHowever, lying this country into a war in order to steer our national treasury into the pockets of a few friends and family and destroying 1000’s of families in the process is a moral principle they can applaud.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pmThese people are an embarrassment to real Christian folks everywhere.
It is time to wake up and smell the stench rising up from the Republican and their fascist, radical religious supporters. How long do you fools have to watch the rise of extreme religious wing nuts and the business backed, criminal Republican party. It is time for war.
1. These enemies are attempting to create a religious state which will be every bit as bad as the most backward Muslim state.
2. These vermin have absolutely no interest in living in peace with the rest of us
It is time to declare war and drive every Republican out of this country or into their grave. It is time to destroy every wing nut church.\
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:52 pmIf there was a god, there would be no Liberty University and there never would have been a Jerry Falwell
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:52 pmHow does this place get accredited?
They can’t tell fiction from science.
They misrepresent the history of our nation.
What a bunch of superstitious fools.

HEAR HEAR!
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:56 pmThe university, founded by televangelist Rev. Jerry Falwell,
Which says it all, founded by a immoral, unethical, bigot, hateful, scumbag.
You have to check out the Erich Mancow waterboarding, 6 to 7 seconds and another of the “Waterboarding” isn’t torture changes his toon.
Mancow, “it absolutely is”
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:59 pmnot much hope for you anyway if you attend that school.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:03 pmWhat say you, David Horowitz?
Please respond with your Students for Academic Freedom letterhead.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:03 pmThose students should just transfer out of Rev. Falwell’s “shit hole” of a university.
Than that way the school would be identified as a “right-wing education camp.”
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:07 pmLiberty is well funded (I think by the nutter who got rich off the “Left Behind” books) and gives out a ton of scholarship money. The campus Dems presumably ended up there because free college is better than no college even if you get stuck with a crap degree. This is a monumentally stupid move by a garbage school that is trying to get itself taken seriously in academia. At least this sort of nonsense labels Taliban U. as the pack of intolerant theocrats mouth breathers that it is.

Or a Nazi indoctrination institute.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:10 pmLiberty U hates America. Burn it down!!!
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:11 pmLiberty’s Vice President of Student Affairs claims “we are in no way attempting to stifle free speech.”
_____________________________________________________________
Yet that’s exactly what they’re doing. Apparently, “free speech” is only free if it matches a somewhat narrow ideology.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:12 pmY’know, the more I think about this story, the more I’m convinced that it has to be a hoax.
No institution that values any reputation as a place of higher learning could possibly engage in an exercise as clearly censorious as this… could it?
Nah, this has to be a hoax story, planted by a prankster, that got picked up by a legitimate news outlet.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:15 pmIt’s no use. If you ban them, they just go underground.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:17 pmThat’s just what Jesus would’ve done: He would’ve cast out rather than embraced his fellow man because of a difference of opinion.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:22 pmSince they obviously don’t know the meaning of “Liberty”, is it not likely they don’t know the meaning of “University”?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it often; what “Bible Colleges” offer is the opposite of education.

Is it a private U and therefore immune from violation of civil liberties?
___________________________________________________________
I’m reminded of Bob Jones University and their ban on interracial dating, which is another policy promoting bigotry disguised as religion.
Apparently, private universities can do pretty much anything they want. And RELIGIOUS private universities will invoke the separation of church and state to ensure their right to do anything they want.
Where they might have a problem is with accreditation. If not accredited by recognized accreditors (national, professional, regional, etc.), graduates with degrees from the institution might not have those degrees recognized by prospective employers, grad schools, or any other entity requiring a degree for a credential.
Even religious accrediting bodies might refuse to accredit any university embodying practices backed up by bigotry more than scripture.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:23 pmI can only imagine how the Democrats on campus must feel. Both of them.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:29 pmOMG…bring on the lawsuits.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:31 pmSeems just like the kind of approach that the Savior would have taken, now doesn’t it? Extend brotherly love, help others, stuff like that.
I wouldn’t imagine that the Democratic party was looking to the college “to lend support,” just probably coexist and present other perspectives.
Liberty continues to move away from it’s charitable Christian roots and more to a suppressing socialist organization. New approach: Do unto others whatever you want, and crush them if it suits your interests.
Yet another example of typical right-wing religious hypocrisy. I think the Bible says something about that, too.
Matthew 23:28 – “Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:34 pmThe GOP thinks it is God’s Own Party. This is but another example.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:36 pmI wonder what grants, studies or loans are government funded and with equality/anti-discrimination clauses attached?
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:39 pmJust shut it the phuck down.
then burn the buldings.
and sprinkle salt on the ruins…
It’s a farking degree mill for the evangi/fundi spawn without the smarts to make it in secular schools.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:42 pmHey, as a private institution they are allowed the choice. Just as the students who attend are allowed the choice. If they want to come out and disagree with the Constitutional right of free speech, etc. that is their choice.
The more these types of places come out and claim that freedom of speech is not what they espouse, hopefully the fewer people will attend. We do not need institutions of higher education that do not agree with the principles of the Constitution.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:56 pmDon’t sue them. It will just increase their enrollment. If you don;t want to be associated with bigoted idiots DRIVE NORTH or WEST. Wait is that bigotry?
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:00 pm*burns a bible*
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:04 pmMahatma Gandhi:
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:07 pm“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
yeah, i think the accreditation should be the regulating agency here. they can do whatever they want as a private university, but they should accept (and the students that for some reason want to go there) that their students can wipe their asses with their degree.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:09 pmThat Liberty University shut down the Democratic club is surprising since they offer coursework on the creation of life and the universe including both evolution and intelligent design. That a school so open to intellectual inquiry would shut down a political group is disappointing.
It is unclear, however, whether they understand that the theory of evolution is silent on how life began.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:12 pmIf a student gets pregnant is she just expelled or do they actually brand her and stone her as she leaves?
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:14 pmI think the College Repukes were tired of getting pwned by the College Dems in debates.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:20 pmWow. They’re AFRAID!
LU Deans and Bigots are skid marks in their underwear afraid – of a handful of student Democrats!?!
What a spectacle these GOP (GOD! nO Progress) yellow belly war hawks are making of themselves.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:25 pmLiberty University has announced that it will no longer recognize its student-run Democratic club. The university, founded by televangelist Rev. Jerry Falwell, states that officials “are unable to lend support to a club whose parent organization stands against the moral principles held by” the university.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I am curious to know what high morals and platitudes this University stands for. One obvious institution is not only the Democratic Party, but the institution of a Democratic government! I am wondering if the Democratic club was doing just a little too good and made the trustees nervous. Great way to show students how to participate in a Democracy!
It is a private institution and they are entitled to choose what they want.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:32 pmAn institution of higher learning, I think not.
The really scary thing is the hundreds of bushbots from these kinds of institutions; Liberty, Regent, etc. When a congenital idiot spends eight years appointing dogmatic drones to positions of authority? We have serious problems.
The Obama Administration can’t replace them fast enough for me.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:41 pmIt’s the Stepford Wives of Universities.
I wish I knew how many grads served in Shrub’s admin.
Bunches, I suspect.
Trained lock steppers no doubt.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:47 pmWho would Jesus bomb?
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:52 pmOn a more serious note: what kind of sad message does this send to the kids of Christians in general?
This is the kind of move that even convinces moderate, apolitical, Believers that it’s dangerous to even examine new ideas. And different ideologies are actively suppressed.
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:11 pmJust wondering what any self-respecting Democrat is doing at Liberty University anyway?
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:24 pmOf course, freedom of speech applies only to Repukes. Didn’t the “honorable” Congressmen Hoekstra and Boehner just tell us that only Rethugs are allowed to criticize the CIA?
Intrepid Says:
“we are in no way attempting to stifle free speech.”
So freedom of speech only applies to Repukes now?
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:40 pm“When Fascism comes to Amerika, it will be wrapped in a flag carrying a cross and a Bible.”

May 22nd, 2009 at 6:47 pmPlease, during your cookout, before/after the ballgame, take a few minutes to remember our fallen brothers & sisters.
Regardless of your stand on the Iraq/Afghan wars, remember them and that they died for Bush’s sins.
I stumbled across this the other day and, while I hesitate to give the site hits, I think that the Rapture Ready crowd’s ideas about freedom of speech are informative.

surely this “university” gets no pubic funds. at all.
law suit, regardless… still discrimination.
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:59 pmYeah! Shut down those heathen Democrats! After all, Didn’t Jesus say, “Waterboard your enemies”? Matthew 5.44 LOOK IT UP, apostate liberals!
Oops! I just did. It was “Love your enemies…”
May 22nd, 2009 at 7:30 pmNever mind.
I couldn’t agree more, katy. It’s a particularly ironic name. Especially when it’s founder devoted his life to fighting the liberty of any who failed in light of his own narrow, perverted, vision of the Bible.
Leaving aside whether or not the Bible should have any particular authority, what these fools fail to realize, when they push their vision of “Rambo/Jesus”, is that Jesus reserved His anger for those who do the very things the Fallwell’s of the World do.
I may not be a Believer and I can’t quote chapters but, I’ve read their book and the message is pretty clear that the central message is to be nice to people. Sadly, the scary people of the modern American Evangelical movement utterly miss the point.
May 22nd, 2009 at 7:34 pmLiberty U. where free speech will not be tolerated.
Oh, the irony.
May 22nd, 2009 at 7:46 pmReligious intolerance, limiting free speech, intellectually inflexible….will Liberty alumni start flying planes into buildings next? Ironic ain’t it?
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:04 pmWhen I was in college, I was a member of a gaming group. Some of the members of the group decided it was a good idea to play laser tag in the hallways of the university student center. This angered the university authorities, who promptly banned the entire gaming group.
We pled our case, saying that it was not a gaming group sanctioned event, and it was only a few members of the group, certainly not the entire, group. We argued that the entire group should not be punished due to the activities of a few.
Unfortunately the university did not agree with us and the group was banned. This was unacceptable, and soon the university was covered with fliers and graffiti and practical jokes intended to make the university back down. Eventually the university changed its mind and allowed the gaming group to continue, and it continues to this day.
I highly recommend the Democrats who’s group has been banned goes underground and makes that university regret its decision in ways that no lawsuit every could. I would also recommend the Democrats have some small protests on university grounds, just to make a point.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:10 pmno lawsuit ever could
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:11 pmah! liberty university – that proud peacock of puritanical thought. you do your lord and master, falwell, great honor in furthering his teachings on intolerance and hatred.
so we are told that democrats are not allowed to assemble at liberty university given their immorality no doubt. this has led me to wonder as to what exactly constitutes a republican and consequently a righteous person
thats right – jesus taught that the republicans shall inherit the earth. so i set out to discover for myself such an one – these salt of the earth, these meek and gentle sheep.
1. the ends justify the means:
here we see bush and his disciples employing all necessary means to lie to the country in order to invade iraq. the goal was to remove sadam husein – the means mattered not – perfect christianity for as jesus taught: obeying the ten commandments is contingent upon the outcome.
2. to torture or not – republicans choose the former:
again you must remember that this is rather elementary to them and only those cowardly democrats shudder at such a thought. you must remember that jesus was tortured on the cross – the ultimate suffering for all of humanity – thus you can imagine the insignificance of being waterborded 183 times. just pathetic.
3. create the law as you go along:
here they follow that giant of true republican thought – the first true DICK (NIXON), sorry cheney but your the second. the original dick created laws in his own sleep – if he said it then it was law. those simpler times when the president could just overrule the constitution without even as much as a pause to ponder the import of his actions. so we have present republicans telling us that torture is not illegal though precedent says otherwise. why you might ask – well because george bush said it is not wrong, thats why.
4. if you have a little hate in your heart, let it out:
ah yes, is there a more angry and intolerant group of people than republicans – i often wonder how they could sustain such a level of anger. they hate gay people, the environment, science, minorities, immigrants, those with opposing views, feminists, labor and the list goes on and on. i remind you, these are the christian sort – they have perfect the art of hatred, in the name of the lord jesus christ, off course.
i can only imagine jesus right now addressing liberty university commencement – off course he will be about 350lbs, black shirt, black suit, hearing aid so as to communicate with his father who art in heaven – you know the hallowed one. angry to the teeth, racist, homophobic, sexist, islamophobic, arrogant, a drug addict, most likely addicted to porn, sweaty, bombastic: would you know it – jesus is rush limbaugh.
so there you have it sinful democrats – if saint limbaugh favors liberty university – well i can only imagine what hell holds for you. for surely limbaugh is the pre-eminent example of christian virtues. for as the saying goes: after jesus, what would limbaugh do – and the answer is he would ban the democratic party club from liberty and that is exactly what they did.
democrats – it is not too late to repent. what would limbaugh do – think on that ye sinners
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:44 pmhey – the guy who shut the dem club down just made keith’s worst list, the silver…
the head of the dem club to be on rachel next…
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:50 pmAnd just what are those moral principles upheld by the Republican Party and, not coincidentally, Liberty University? Unrestrained greed, sycophancy towards the rich, contempt and oppression of the poor, warmongering, wholesale slaughter of innocent civilians, torture, murder, kidnapping and forced disappearance, denial of healthcare benefits to the working poor and rampant spending on weapons. In view of this, I think they should ban the Gospels, too.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:52 pmIn case anyone has forgotten. Liberty University law school which ranks at the very bottom of them all, is the one that graduated many of the DOJ lawyers. The political ones that used religion, Roe V Wade, and Republican affiliation and Bush loyalty as a requirement, as well as sexual preference.
And the best but not only example is Monica Goodling. The cute little blonde that did some of the vetting. When questioned, she said her loyalty was to Bush. One of the Senators pointed out to her she was wrong. It was to the law and the Constitution. She did not know that.
I loved watching that hearing. Senator Schumer fell all over himself apologizing for bothering her and thanking her for showing up. He drooled so hard, I thought he would ask for her phone number. Of course he was glad she showed up. Let’s not forget, at that time everyone else refused.
What a university. Anyone that goes there should have their grades vetted before hiring. And be given some kind of test to see what they learned. Especially if they are law school graduates. Of course that would go for science too, since evolution is outlawed as study.
May 22nd, 2009 at 9:46 pmTo curious,
May 22nd, 2009 at 9:55 pmI am afraid you are wrong about Monica Goodling being a graduate of Liberty University’s Law School. She actually graduated from the law school of Regent University, which was founded by Rev. Pat Rottenscum. In view of the similarity between the two institutions, I can hardly blame you for mixing them up; but I just wanted to set the record straight.
oldfuzz says:
That a school so open to intellectual inquiry would shut down a political group is disappointing.
is this serious?
liberty university has dinosaur bones on display and has them labeled as being 6000 years old because thats what the bible says.
there is no intellectual inquiry at liberty university
it is a pathetic institution that is an embarrassment to even community colleges.
May 22nd, 2009 at 11:29 pmInteresting, just yesterday BYU-Idaho closed down BOTH of the political organizatins on their campus (Repubs and Dems). They said they wanted to be sure and keep the LDS Churches policy of non-partisanship on their campus. They said because the Repubs were so much bigger it appeared the university may be partisan…well DUH this group were on the phone in Rexburg, ID spreading the LDS Churches lies to the residents of California during the prop 8 who-ha. Besides their scared to death they are going to be found out as the bigoted religon they are; anybody who lives in Idaho and Utah and are NOT a member of their cult knows they honestly believe the rest of us will be in a lower level of heaven than they will…of course they don’t count the lies they spread in the name of God as a sin….I’m sure Liberty U has the same philosophy.
May 23rd, 2009 at 1:42 amLiberty U really means freedom from thinking, facts and other opinions. Freedom from being independent, because one becomes dependent upon limited, doctrinaire thinking supplied by the church. How ironic…not surprising for a second. And of course they support the idea of knocking down the wall separating church and state.
Went to school in Utah. Did a survey once. Was asked my religion at the end. Said Lutheran. Saw the girl put down “non.” When I asked why I was listed as a “non” she said they only care if folks are Mormon or non-Mormon…they don’t care if you are Hindu, Catholic, etc. Thinking, independent and open to different folks from around the world…..go away. Non-thinking, close minded….come on down!
May 23rd, 2009 at 7:35 amALL religions have ultra-orthodox factions, and these religious extremists are fundamentally intolerant of other religions, cultures, and lifestyles. They only vary in the means by which they display their intolerance.
May 23rd, 2009 at 12:03 pmAlthough the Right wing conservatives will preach against the evils of Democrats and ban them, they apparently have no qualms on taking their money for tuition. I guess the Greenback from a Democrat is “clean” enough for a Republican. It shows me what kind of God these Holier than Thou’s really pray to.
May 23rd, 2009 at 6:24 pmZeig Heil!
May 24th, 2009 at 10:53 amNot surprising. Next week Liberty Crackheadveristy administrators will be passing along news stories about the poor college Republicans being oppressed on “liberal” campuses. Hypocrisy at its worst.
May 24th, 2009 at 11:42 pmThis should help clear some things up for those of you following this thread. Here is the official press release from Liberty University’s chancellor. I would also recommend checking out the article concerning the recent meeting between the chancellor and the college democrats.
Op-Ed: Media’s misrepresentation of club controversy
May 25, 2009 : Jerry Falwell, Jr.
A number of media sources recently reported that Liberty University banned Democrats from meeting on campus. One headline erroneously read: “Democrats at Liberty University forced to meet off campus.” Apparently many journalists do not let the facts get in the way of a juicy, agenda-driven story.
The story was spun out of control from the beginning, when Terry McAuliffe, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate for Virginia, called a telephone press conference to talk about the College Democrat club formed by students of Liberty University. The presses began to buzz. Much of what went to print was wrong. Most journalists were interested in scooping their competitors rather than seeking the truth. Even when some reporters learned the facts, they could not bring themselves to correct their stories because the fanciful reports were just too tempting.
The University has not banned Democrats from campus. Nor has the Democrat club been banned from meeting. And, never has the University or its officials said that a person cannot be a Christian and a Democrat. Sorry for those who want to run with these titillating sound bites, but these are the facts.
The students who formed the Democrat club last October are good students. They are pro-life and believe in traditional marriage. They can continue to meet on campus. The only thing that has changed came about as part of a University-wide review of all student organizations for official recognition status. Official recognition carries with it the benefit of using the University name and funds. While this group will not be an officially recognized club, it may still meet on campus.
Liberty University is the world’s largest and fastest growing evangelical university. While many schools have faced budget short falls and declining enrollment, Liberty is debt free and continues to grow at a rapid rate. We now have 11,500 students on campus and nearly 38,000 students online. This fall Liberty University will exceed 50,000 total students.
Parents and students support the University because they believe in its distinctly Christian identity and mission. Liberty University is pro-life and believes that marriage between one man and one woman provides the best environment for children. Liberty University will not lend its name or financial support to any student group that advances causes contrary to its mission.
While the students in the college Democrat club are pro-life and support traditional marriage, the constitution of the club pledged support to advance the Democratic platform and candidates. The 2008 Democratic platform has taken an extreme turn to the left on social issues. For the first time it supports federal funding of abortion and repeal of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, a law passed overwhelmingly by a bi-partisan Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton. Liberty University will not lend its name or financial support to undermine marriage or to promote abortion.
While students are free to meet on campus, debate and discuss politics of every stripe, the University will remain true to its core principles and not lend its name or fund groups that work to undermine the principles that make Liberty attractive to so many people. Liberty brings many diverse speakers to campus. Last year Senator John McCain’s brother spoke to the students along with Virginia Democratic Governor, Tim Kaine. Dr. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke to our students this spring about how her opposition to same sex marriage put her at odds with her family and her political allies. Ted Kennedy also spoke at Liberty in 1983.
We encourage our students to bring positive change to all political parties, Democrats, Republicans and Independents. We hope our students challenge all political parties to remain true to the core moral values consistent with the Christian mission of the University. To blindly support any candidate solely because of party affiliation irrespective of their moral views is wrong. Liberty would never endorse a Republican student group that supported abortion rights. Liberty stands for certain core values; not for a political party.
Jerry Falwell, Jr.

Liberty University
I am a student about to attend Liberty University and here’s something you liberal idiots need to know the moral values we uphold are:
1. traditional marriage
2. pro-life anti-abortion
3. no torture just the saftey of our nation
4. not a bunch of flower skipping hippies
5.and Liberty is still allowing the club to meet on campus so, there is no discrimination
6.YOU ALL ARE HIPPIE DRUG HIGH ALCOHOLIC MORONS!!!!!!!!!
