Rove sides with Cheney, says he would pick Limbaugh over Powell.

Earlier this month, Dick Cheney made headlines after telling CBS that he would rather have Rush Limbaugh in the GOP than Colin Powell. “Well, if I had to choose — in terms of being a Republican — I’d go with Rush Limbaugh, I think,” he said. Today on Fox News Sunday, Karl Rove said he agrees with Cheney:

Q: Dick Cheney said if it’s a battle between, or a choice between Rush Limbaugh and Colin Powell, he sides with Limbaugh. You?

ROVE: Uh, yes, if I had to pick between the two. But you know what? Neither one of those are candidates. Neither one of those are going to be people who are offering themselves for office. This is a false debate that Washington loves.

Watch it:

Former Bush Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge took a shot at Limbaugh today, telling CNN that Limbaugh can be “shrill” and uses language in a way “that offends very many.” “[W]ords mean things and how you use words is very important,” Ridge said. “But personally, if he would listen to me and I doubt if he would, the notion is express yourself but let’s respect others opinions and let’s not be divisive.”

**6,260 Legitimate Cases of Crimes Against the People for Bush Cabal. If it were just one, it would still be criminal enough to prosecute these thugs.

The only thing rove should be picking is the top or bottom prison bunk, but the dems have given him a “get out of jail free” card, grandstanding by issuing subpoenas that they refuse to enforce.

The contempt kkkarl has shown would land any of us in jail, but rove gets rewarded by being a leader in GOP.

And it is directly a result of the complicity of dems.

Rove didn’t really present himself that poorly in this soundbite. He didn’t make the expected attacks and he didn’t have the expected fervor.

It makes sense that an extreme conservative, like Rove, would prefer another extreme conservative’s views, like Limbaugh’s, to a moderate’s views, like Powell’s.

  13. Wiz says:

All these GOP talkers are doing is taking away any possibility that some sane leadership might emerge in their party. Rove, Gingich, Cheney, and Limbaugh have no chance of becoming real leaders and they divert attention from those GOPers who might show some sensible GOP leadership. Oh my, did I just write “sensible GOP leadership”? Boy you don’t see those words together anymore.

AJ: A growing consensus of americans now believe that, to some extent, 9/11 was an inside job.

I contend that unless/until we get to the bottom and truth of 9/11, we cannot move forward.

As well, if we fail to prosecute the Bush Criminal Cabal now, it will forever be a taint on this country. Spain knows what occurred and they have the cojones to do something about it – unlike our compromised, blackmailed Congress.

As for Pelosi, when she dropped the ball regarding impeachment back in ‘04, she lost my respect. Of course, we now know that they were all blackmailed by illegal NSA wiretapping – skeleton party, anyone?

Having said that, I still fail to see why Pelosi should take the fall for the entire Intel Committee at this point. For openers, the briefings they receive are totally “classified” which means that they can’t breathe a word of any of it to anyone (how convenient for criminals to use, wh?).

Besides, where are the Republican members of the Senate Intel Committee right now? Why are they not speaking out?

Catch-22 is the answer for that and we need to root these frauds out of office ASAP.

Believe me….Pelosi is definitely not my favorite individual due to her dismissal of Bush’s crimes and her statement that impeachment was off the table when it should have been “front and center”. This makes her more complicit in my eyes than any intel briefing about EIT’s.

However, I tend to listen more to what little liberal talk radio has survived the marketplace. I find it more useful to listen to those with whom I disagree most of the time. Having Sirius in the car is useful in that regard as there isn’t much liberal radio on the AM/FM dial other than most of “public radio.”

Odd, there’s plenty on the AM dial where I live. Public radio only looks “liberal” to you because they deal in reality, and reality has a well-known liberal bias.

  38. Zooey says:

    Who frackin’ cares?

  39. rick8107 says:

Cheney and Rove are some of the biggest criminals ever to have a seat in our government. I believe they are Nazis and were bent on tearing down our Constitution. Bush on the other hand was just stupid, a dupe who could get elected by the Republicans more out of sympathy for his being so damned stupid than because he could accomplish anything. Rove is a corrupter who is famous for his dirty ability to steal elections through deceit. Cheney is just an evil man who wants to now blame Obama for all of the evil he has created. I wonder if they are worried about a truth commission actually getting to the truth…

  40. glogrrl says:

After just watching Powell on FTN, as much as I despise what he did at the UN in the run-up to the Iraq war, he sounds like the voice of reason in an increasingly looney Rethuglican party. To think that Cheney, Rove or Limpballs could EVER trump Powell as a true Republican is just nuts. Everything Powell said, including that fact that more inclusiveness is needed in the party and that torture is wrong and destructive, no matter what the circumstances, is the truth. The other Republicans who are appearing on talk shows are sounding more and more insane. Powell sounds lucid, logical, and compassionate (a quality that obviously went out of fashion in the Republican party back in the 60s. If they continue down this road, the GOP will be wandering in the wilderness for years and years to come.

Mr. Ridge, I will be more than happy to respect the well-informed opinions of others, and I will respect the fact that they have a right to their opinion. But I will not respect anyone’s misinformed opinions. And I see a great many of those from the trolls here at TP.

Well, BnF, they have often said that they would like to see the Dept of Education abolished (often making the ridiculous claim that it is unconstitutional, which it is not.) Perhaps this desire to see the Dept of Ed abolished is related to their tendency to blame the people who point out their wrongdoing, rather than blame the wrongdoer. They are like the criminal who says, “I wouldn’t be in prison if you hadn’t told the cops I killed that guy.” They simply don’t know how to take responsibility for their actions. Maybe that’s why they hate the Dept of Ed, because it shows objectively that they are not as smart as they would like people to believe. And rather than try to educate themselves more, they point fingers at the people who reveal the truth.

  44. LibertyLover says:

“…if he would listen to me and I doubt if he would, the notion is express yourself but let’s respect others opinions and let’s not be divisive.”

Being divisive is the only way Rush knows how to be.

Rove wrote the playbook on being divisive. It has gotten old.

I like the quip, but let’s face it; Rush doesn’t do things that way.

He’s not the type to call and threaten someone personally. His style is just to talk shit about them on his radio show, from the safety of his studio.

Rush is not a real confrontational kind of guy. He learned that it generally doesn’t work out for him.

  48. rosemorals says:

should we take this as a surprise – that rove is a mere extension of the dinosaur himself, cheney. often times i wonder whether one is not the others son, perhaps rove was mistakenly exchanged at birth or at any rate some like scenario. for scarcely could one encounter two people with such a striking common outlook on policy and methods.

thus off course rove sides with cheney in choosing limbaugh over powell and heres why. on one hand you have three men who have never understood the true and sacred calling of duty, honor, country. cheney and limbaugh went to great length to avoid serving their country during vietnam. while others were being tortured, killed, maimed, wounded – they instead enjoyed their summers on the beach. here they can be excused in their disgust over powell’s real superiority – jeleousy is to blame.

afterall, imagine how you would feel if at every turn you were being compared to an american war heroe – national security advisor, army general, chairman of the joint chiefs, secretary of state – beloved by the world and both parties alike. now compare that with rush limbaugh – what a pitty, no wonder he hates powell – the constrast must be painfully condemning to him.

lastly, i would venture to suggest that anyone with the blessing of these three characters stands condemned in the court of human relations. think on it – they (republicans and by extention rove, limbaugh, cheney) condone torture, coupes-de-tats, anti-environment, anti-science, pro business at all costs, torture the rule of law, hate dissenters and opposing views, maintain a cultish following, lack any openness.

surely they hate powell with his love of country and not interest groups or this-that base.

  49. Leftside Annie says:

Gee. KKKarl worships at the altar of the FatBastard?

I shudder to think what life in this world would be if Cheney, Rove and Limbaugh ran the place! Everlasting war, grinding poverty (except for the elites), slavery, misery, fanatic Christianity, concentration camps full of gays, liberals, intellectuals, scientists… etc. etc.

    Clearly, he’s a coward.

He wouldn’t go when it was his time to go. And now he is a chicken hawk. Now he is this big tough guy who wants this hardcore policy. And he’s the guy that sanctioned all this torture by calling it enhanced interrogation.

KING: Do you think Rush Limbaugh’s a better Republican than Colin Powell?

VENTURA: No, not at all. In fact, if you compare the two, let’s look at Colin Powell, who’s a war hero, who strapped it on for his country, and didn’t run and hide.

    KING: Twice.

VENTURA: And then you look at Dick Cheney who ran and hid. I have no respect for Dick Cheney. I have tremendous respect for General Powell.

Pathetic, unpatriotic blowhards who constantly criticize others who actually make a positive difference. They are– well, hateful losers.
