“La Raza” (The Race) is a broad term which refers to those whose ancestry is indigenous to the area of Mexico (or “Aztlan”). MEChA members refer to themselves as “La Raza” or “Raza,” but the term itself is used to indicate camaraderie among those in different organizations with the same objectives. There are a number of organizations who consider themselves to be La Raza.

The most visible of these groups are MEChA, The Brown Berets de Aztlan, OLA (Organization for the Liberation of Aztlan), La Raza Unida Party, and the “Nation of Aztlan” to name a few. Although the activism of these organizations vary from somewhat radical to extremely radical, they share the same objectives, the “liberation of Aztlan.” Each follows the Raza manifesto http://www.mayorno.com/aztlan.html (sometimes called “El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan”). The Nation of Aztlan, tied to La Voz de Aztlan disseminates the exact same propaganda that MEChA spreads including antisemitic propaganda. Believers in the Aztlan legend insist upon the indivisibility of “La Raza” and their common goals, one of them being the need to abolish the border between the U.S. and Mexico. There is a myriad of Raza college newspaper. Some are El Popo, Aztlan News, Chispas, Gente de Aztlan (UCLA), Voz Fronteriza (U.C. San Diego), La Voz Mestiza (U.C. Irvine) and La Voz Berkeley. It is not uncommon for the writers of these publications to refer to the U.S., as “AmeriKKKa.”

La Raza also has connections to groups that advocate the separation of several southwestern states from the rest of America.

Now it’s just “connections to groups,” huh? What connections? What groups?

Not no, but hell no! Tancredo’s statement is false on its face and as ludicrous as one would expect from him and his ilk.

The literal translation of La Raza is irrelavant, a moronic smokescreen. And all of the organizations referenced above have probably found themselves, at one time or another, in the well-known ’strange bedfellows’ position. But political alignment on narrow issues does not constitute identical ideology. More smokescreen b.s. from the Right(Wrong) Wing.

According the American Bar Association, Sotomayor is a member of the NCLR, which bills itself as the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S.

It’s cute how you guys keep saying “end of story” after making false claims. Just because not being part of the human race makes you a minority, you don’t have to fear discrimination. Us humans are actually decent folk, and the U.S. Constitution protects you from being discriminated against, even for being unhuman.

The only reason we have ‘racist’ organizations like La Raza or the NAACP is simple: They’re only trying to protect themselves from persecution.

The blind eye that white racists turn towards American history and even today’s racism is amazingly selective. I guess now that we have a colored President, racism is GONE, right?

And these struggles happened why? Because they were treated as second class citizens in a land where their families lived before many of the citizens of LA?

Guess that, from the POW of a british descendant must be shocking to hear them speak and say “NO MORE”.

La Raza ONLY includes Mexicans and Mexican-Ameircans(Chicanos).

No self-respecting Latino would EVER use the term La RAza with a Latino or American audience.

The Term comes from the so called Chicano struggles and the fact that they believe that Mexican-Americans are better, superior than other Latinos and white AND black Americans.

Additionally, La Raza is never used to talk about family or anything else that the other poster claimed.

La Raza is used by racist Chicanos and Mexicans, period end of story, Everything else is an excuse to justify racism coming from the left and very racist Chicano groups.
