Former Klansman David Duke Rips Limbaugh For ‘KKK’ Comparison, Says Sotomayor Is The Racist
On Friday, Rush Limbaugh said that Judge Sonia Sotomayor “brings a form of bigotry and racism to the court” akin to that embraced by former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke. Listen here:
Responding on his personal website, David Duke decried the comparison to Sotomayor. “Limbaugh, a recent addict to illegal drugs, has no business making personal attacks against me for my past,” Duke said. “I have consistently supported true equal rights, stating again and again that I support the best-qualified person regardless of race in hiring and promotions.”
But while rejecting Limbaugh on the one hand, Duke embraced the attacks against Sotomayor made last week by nativist former congressman Tom Tancredo, who said Sotomayor belongs to a “a Latino KKK without the hoods or the nooses.” From Duke’s site:
Dr. Duke, a PhD who lectures about half the year in Europe, also criticized Judge Sotomayor as an activist in the primarily Mexican organization, La Raza, which literally means “the race.” Duke says her racial bias can be seen in a statement she made in a speech delivered in 2001: “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” [...]
Sotomayor, whose appointment has ignited a sustained controversy among both Democrats and Republicans, has long been an activist for radical-Left Mexican organizations and an enthusiastic proponent of racial discrimination against White people called affirmative action.
Elsewhere on his website, Duke claims that Sotomayor is part of a grand Jewish conspiracy to control “any person who is influential or who may at some point in the future become influential.” No word yet on whether the right-wing will also embrace this attack on Judge Sotomayor.

Is there anybody here — liberal or conservative, progressive or regressive, troll or thoughtful poster — who honestly doesn’t believe that the right wing wouldn’t seek to discredit and destroy ANYBODY President Obama nominated? Anybody believe the right would actually embrace any nominee from Obama? Anybody? Thought not.
I think that since anybody with an IQ above that of spackle recognizes the wingnut agenda for what it is, we can all assume the conservative machine has been digging for dirt on Sotomayor ever since her name was floated for the short list.
So let’s look at what their digging has turned up.
1. She made a comment eight years ago, which, taken out of context and tightly spun, could be interpreted as racist. The fact that she admits she make a poor choice of words in expressing her sentiment won’t be permitted to detract from the “gotcha”.
2. She has been a member of a Hispanic advocacy group that’s being spun as a racist group. Even though it’s no more “racist” than the NAACP or the Organization of Chinese Americans.
3. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University — a sure sign of her lack of intelligence. Because there have been some low wattage people who have attended Ivy League schools.
4. Speaking of schools, she almost certainly benefitted from affirmative action when getting into colleges and finding employment. Because we all know that anybody who isn’t a white male can never be “good” enough to succeed without it. Never mind that even if she DID benefit from affirmative action, all that does is open doors — it doesn’t give anybody a free carriage ride to the finish line.
5. She’s a woman, so she’s probably menstruated at some point. The fact that she’s most likely post-menopausal now doesn’t exonerate her from this.
6. She’s difficult to get along with, and is “abrasive” in the courtroom. We know this because “they say” so — and we all know that “they” is an unimpeachable source.
7. And finally, she’s part of a “grand Jewish conspiracy”. We know this because a former KKK Grand Wizard (a veritable king of credibility) pulled that factoid out of his a$$.
Seriously — all this is just stuff that’s either completely made up or fiction built onto grossly misrepresented facts. Is this REALLY all they have?

the better argument would be that it La Raza means the human race because the group advocates for whites, blacks, asians, etc… if they speak spanish (and yes there are some asian latinos) their rights are advocated for by la raza…. if they don’t speak spanish la raza is pretty down for helping them out too.

I’m a musician and I kinda have the feeling that in the future people will pay for live performances, because we have computer software that is very close to sounding like a musical instrument, with a modelled human touch. So, if a person that has never played the guitar, can click a button and sound like Jimi Hendrix, than what is the coolness about all this digital music really? Infact, I think that the more advanced this gets, the less interesting it becomes. We are still in awe over a youngster that can make the violin cry and we will definately be in even more awe when a person can actually do with their fingers that what we can do in an iPhone application.
