Have you ever bothered reading his words in context, instead of picking a few words out of the middle of a long discourse? The “you” he was referring to was the state that licensed Dr. Tiller to perform late term abortions. He wanted the state to stop him through the rule of law. For you to continue to suggest that Bill O’Reilly called for Dr. Tiller’s assassination shows either your dishonesty or ignorance, or both.

If Bildo wanted “the state” to stop Dr Tiller, why didn’t he use his influence and try to do it through normal channels? No, he chose to use inflammatory language, calling Dr Tiller a “killer” and screaming “he must be stopped!!” for over four years, so he could get the teevee ratings, knowing full well that there are some real f ucking lunatics in the anti-choice movement.

Do not assume I have not watched BO speaking those words IN CONTEXT.

Bill O’Reilly has blood on his hands, and if you condone his words and actions around this assassination, so do you.

Actually, it seems to me that liberals are more amused than angry these days. We’re having a ball watching your party implode and your members eat their own.

But, I am angry about the murder of Dr. Tiller. And I am angry at the people/organizations that helped to create the atmosphere where some right wing nut job decided to kill him. That would be Operation Rescue, Fixed News and Billo.

Why do progressives hate fetuses/babies?

Don’t hate them. Do recognize they’re two different things. A baby is a person. A fetus is not.

I’m not for more abortions; I’m for less of them. However, I recognize there are better tools to reduce the number of them that occur than criminalizing the procedure. Whereas you are severely congenitally impaired.

Violence isn’t bad just because it’s illegal. Nonviolent consciencious disobedience of an unjust law is perfectly ethical.

I will tell you what I do hate though. I hate freaks like Bill0 who tell people as ignorant and hateful as himself to “stop this guy (Tiller) or the blood is on your (the folks’) hands“. What? You’re unclear here. The gay person is trying to give a sales pitch to the pastor? Of course. It’s along the lines of “we’re human, stop persecuting us!” That’s a perfectly reasonable thing to request. Or the pastor is trying to give a sales pitch to the gay person? In that case, you should know that sexual orientation can’t be “sold” or “decided.” It is what it is. It would be just as hard for a gay person to become straight as it would for a straight person to just decide to be gay.

Typically at the part of the argument where I point out how difficult it would be to just decide to be gay, it dawns on me that the wingnut I’m arguing with probably views homosexuality as an incredibly tempting way of life, or else they wouldn’t be claiming it was a choice to begin with.

I do see what you mean. It made such a small dent, than CFP blatantly ignored my reasonable question about how he reconciles a desire to give rights to a legally non-individual while simultaneously taking away rights from a legal individual.

The silence says more than an answer ever could – he can’t reconcile it, because the dissonance is so loud, it distracts him from the task.

Why is it so impossible to have a reasonable discussion about this topic? No matter how rational the topic starts, people just can’t help themselves. And it’s not just the yelling and insults, it’s the subversive shit like calling fetuses “babies” and calling abortion “murder.” If you equate the two, that’s fine, say that, but for the purposes of rational discussion, the legal and/or medical term is appropriate, as opposed to loaded and highly prejudicial. It’s a gross simplification and distortion of reality that is full of emotion, it makes all rational discourse next-to-impossible.

There’s no such thing as a baby in utero. A fetus is not a baby. You hold it as an article of faith that fetuses are just tiny little people, although there’s no formal religious doctrine that says so on the face of the Earth. Science suggests otherwise as well. In this respect, your faith has no legs, and stands on nothing whatsoever.

You want them to give rights to a non-person, simultaneously taking rights away from a real person. It’s pretty instructive how you hold a mass of developing cells to be more important than a woman.
