Palin on Obama administration: ‘We told ya so.’

Sarah Palin on Hannity and ColmesTonight, Fox News’s Sean Hannity will air an interview with Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK). In portions of the transcript leaked to the Drudge Report, Palin agrees that the U.S. is on the road to socialism, adding, “we told ya so”:

HANNITY: You know but it goes back – It does go back a little to the campaign. I mean, ‘spread the wealth, patriotic duty…’

PALIN: Kind of a ‘we told ya so’.

HANNITY: Well, is that how you feel?

PALIN: That’s how I feel! … And this many months into the new administration, quite disappointed, quite frustrated with not seeing those actions to rein in spending, slow down the growth of government. Instead Sean it is the complete opposite. It’s expanding at such a large degree that if Americans aren’t paying attention, unfortunately our country could evolve into something that we do not even recognize.

HANNITY: Socialism?

PALIN: Well, that is where we are headed. That is where we have to be blunt enough and candid enough and honest enough with Americans to let them know that if we keep going down these roads… nationalizing many of our services, our projects, our businesses, yes that is where we would head.

Even if the National Republican Congressional Committee and Senatorial Committee won’t have her, Palin will always be welcome at Fox News.

Hey Bimbo. You lost. We won and the President is doing exactly what we expect him to do. Only mental midgets like you and insannity would think the days of free market capitalism worked. Your party got us to where we are now. Now take this: Ronnie Raygun and his policies failed!

And this many months into the new administration, quite disappointed, quite frustrated with not seeing those actions to rein in spending, slow down the growth of government.

It’s just bizarre how she doesn’t use subject-nouns or verbs. Those are the basis of language.

Palin when asked by Hannity about the murder of Doctor Tiller had this to say…

“Well I don’t think anyone should be allowed to shoot at a boat, I mean you can loose steering….what>? what? oh oh OH that’s who you are talking about…never mind”

“but we are heading to Socialism”

  9. Zimzone says:

Palin waterboarding Insannity would be a great RNC fundraiser.

Will Hannitea ask her about the $3,000.00 checks she wrote to each Alaskan citizen? Of course not.

Dumb & Dumber doing a Fixed Noise interview is hardly news.

I’d be surprised if she could walk and chew gum at the same time.
I think she better worry about the problems she helped create in Alaska, and leave the rest of us alone.

Alaska receives $1.84 welfare for every $1.00 it pays in taxes. But hey, no socialism there. And that is on top of the $3300 every man woman and child receive from oil each year. Ms. Palin needs to try reading before opening mouth and inserting foot.

  17. Jimmy Big Bucks says:

Palin seems to have selective memory, it was under Bush that the taxpayers bailed out the banksters, to save the free market, he said.

And the banksters went to the government for that socialist money, why just look at all the lobbyists approaching government for societies money.

Does Palin forget that Stevens was the biggest taker of federal money over the years?

As usual, you are wrong…socialism in one form or another, currently corporate welfare, has sustained capitalism…Please don’t bother to reply…you know the drill…

  44. Wayne Ant Schneider says:

The real problem here is that this person is being presented as if her opinions have validity, as if she knows what she’s talking about. Hannity won’t correct anything she says, especially if it’s derogatory of Democrats (who he has said he hates) or Liberals in general. In fact, he’ll give her leading questions to get her to say negative things about Hannity’s political enemies. (It was Hannity who brought up the word “Socialism.”)

This is the consequence of the right wing’s efforts to have “balance” in our TV news shows. Now everyone thinks the wing nuts on the right have equally valid viewpoints to the thinking people on the left.

  45. P.D. says:

    the freedom Says:
the government’s job is to keep the dollar strong. we had a strong dollar under the bush years.

    Really? From Wiki:

The US Dollar Index (USDX) is an index or measure of the value of the United States dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies. It is a weighted geometric mean of the dollar’s value compared to the euro (EUR), Japanese yen (JPY), Pound sterling (GBP), Canadian dollar (CAD), Swedish krona (SEK) and Swiss franc (CHF).
It was started in March 1973, soon after the dismantling of the Bretton Woods system. At that time, the value of the Dollar Index was 100.000 and has since traded as high as the mid-160s but also into the low 70s. As of October 2008, the USDX was trading in the mid-80s. On March 16, 2008, the index reached 70.698, the lowest since its inception in 1973.

    ___________________________________________________________

One of the things I noticed about the Sarah Palin interview is that while she had plenty of criticism for the way President Obama is handling the economic recovery, she had no ideas of her own.

You at least are offering something, even if it’s just “conservative principles”. But it’s “conservative principles” — deregulation, tax cuts, corporate welfare, etc. — that got us into this mess. How in the world do you expect to convince anybody that staying on that road will improve the economy? That’s like a 17th-century British physician trying to convince a patient that continued bloodletting will cure her anemia — a condition most likely caused by the bloodletting in the first place.

Wow, your reading comprehension skills are pretty minimal, aren’t they. What you were told is that the people in Alaska pay $1.00 in taxes and they get back $1.90 in Federal money for their state.

So why is it OK for this to happen when every citizen in Alaska is given over $2,000 yearly as their part of the oil revenues. As a fiscal conservative, don’t you think that $2,000 should go into the state’s coffers and be used to support the state government?

Because Sarah Palin gave each citizen an extra $1,200 last year instead of putting that money away for a rainy day, the State of Alaska is now broke and having to cut spending to schools and other services.

You are a big-a@@ hypocrite! You have a big nerve attacking anyone for the number of kids that they have, and besides, isn’t the party of NO against abortion? Don’t you all say, let them ALL live whether their lives or the lives of the mothers are in peril and they have little/no chance of survival outside the womb? Choose a side. You cannot have it both ways. Your comment shows you are not a true conservative at all. You tick me off when you bring innocent kids into the discussion and then state that someone is not concerned about the environment based on the number of kids they have! You are a prime example of what is wrong with the Republican/conservative party. Personally, I wish no one would have an abortion, but I also leave the decision up to the individual. Furthermore, I think that the number of kids one has is a personal decision, which brings me to the next problem conservatives have that highlights their hypocrisy. Why say that you believe in limited government and freedom, and then turn around and in the same breath say the government has the right to tell a woman, or anyone, what to do with their bodies, who they may marry, what they can think and say, etc., all while wrapped in the Bible and the U.S. and Christian flags? And since most conservatives say they are Christians, have you ever stopped long enough to ask yourself one question, “Will God put up with my sh!t and the combined sh!t of my fellow conservatives in Heaven?” The next time you attend church pay more attention to the message being delivered and less on who sees that you are present and accounted for. In the former situation there’s an opportunity for growth, but in the latter you have a straight one-way ticket for a visit with Mephistopheles.

Wow, how old are you? I’m thinking maybe 12. Our national debt was $5 trillion before Bush took office and was $10.5 trillion when he left. He more than doubled our national debt. Were you complaining about that?

Then Bush took a budget surplus and turned it into a huge budget deficit. And the sad thing is that none of the money he spent went into making our country better.

That’s why I don’t mind the fact that Obama’s plans are increasing the national deficit. He is investing in this country and undoing some of the damage Bush and the right did to our country.

BTW, moron, did you know that if all Corporations paid their fair share of taxes (66% pay no taxes) and all rich people paid their fair share of taxes (over 50% have money stashed in off-shore accounts), we could balance our budget and pay off our national debt in just a couple of years. You know, I would be more than happy to have the top rate at 36% as long as the people who owe this tax actually pay it. Unfortunately many corporations and rich people stash their money in off-shore tax shelters to avoid having to pay their fair share of taxes.

and by the way. your next one where you point out my “giving everyone a fair shake” was explained in the same post that you copy and pasted out of, i am independent, but i am highly conservative at the moment because of the junk liberals are doing. i never said i was independent and hate what obama is doing, i hate how he is doing it. another example of current liberals only showing what they want people to see. Conservatives have made their share of mistakes as well, but i am intelligent enough to see that Democrats controlled congress for the last 2 years of Bush. one simple vote and the war is over…no more crying about that money being wasted. a couple other little votes and they could have undone any of this stuff you blame bush for BEFORE it got this bad. They did nothing…..

    Quick, Sarah…what’s “socialism” mean?
    ____________________________________________________________

The correct definition, of course (at least in the context the GOP is using it), is “a scary word that tested well in focus groups”.

But I’m not even sure Palin is savvy enough to know THAT. She just knows what she gets in the talking points script.

Change, ah yes. Change is much needed after 8 years of Bush/Cheney.

Well, at least we’re not going around trying to pick fights with everyone nowadays.

At least the money that’s being spent is being invested in this country for the most part.

At least we have a President now that I can actually stand to watch and hear speak.

At least Cheney doesn’t have his hand hovering over the big red button…well I hope he doesn’t anyway.

Can’t you come up with anything good that’s changed since Obama took office?

McCain was same old, same old/doom and gloom and I suspect things would be much worse if Obama had not been elected.

You’re kidding…right? “One simple vote and the war is over”??? If only it could be so.

The Democrats tried that. Bush vetoed. Because the Democrats’ “control” of congress was only due to a technical razor-thin majority, they didn’t have enough votes to override. Remember that?

    Socialism

So”cial*ism\, n. [Cf. F. socialisme.] A theory or system of social reform which contemplates a complete reconstruction of society, with a more just and equitable distribution of property and labor. In popular usage, the term is often employed to indicate any lawless, revolutionary social scheme. See Communism, Fourierism, Saint-Simonianism, forms of socialism

Don’t lecture us on how taxes work, wingnut. The reason that Alaska sucks up more federal dollars than it makes is because more infrastructure is required, and the infrastructure is a lot more expensive, in a state with such extreme geographic and climatological conditions. In order for Alaskans to live where they do in the manner that they’d like, the rest of us have to pony up quite a lot.

I see you are a less astute observer of politics than you like to present yourself.

or perhaps you’re simply content to exploit a complex military and geopolitical briar patch into which our former president jumped headlong, in order to paint the opposition as somehow hypocritical (am I reading that right?) because the new president and the Congress have not extricated our armed forces from said briar patch within five months of taking office.

Either way, another potential meaningful opposition voice here crumbles under the weight of right-wing preconceptions. Always sad to see.

Bristol Palin — Sarah Palin’s 19-year-old-daughter and unwed mother of 4-month-old Tripp — has been blog-blistered this week for her debut as an Abstinence Ambassador for the Candies Foundation. She made the rounds of the morning shows, appeared at a town hall meeting for National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day and declared herself committed to discouraging behavior that would leave other girls in the same predicament she finds herself in. “Regardless of what I did personally,” she told Chris Cuomo on Good Morning America, “abstinence is the only … 100% foolproof way you can prevent pregnancy.”

One doesn’t “vote to end a war.” That’s not how it works. The way it works is to craft and implement a responsible exit strategy, which is what Obama is doing. Ideally, the President who started the war should have an exit strategy figured out before going in at all. Unfortunately, we have in the past made the mistake of occasionally electing Republicans to high office.

You seem to be forgetting that the Republics filibustered anything that the Democrats tried to do and the fact that Bush was still President and would have vetoed anything the Democrats got through. The Republics filibustered more legislation in the last two years of Bush’s presidency than in all of the remainder of his presidency.

There are teams of incredibly educated people acting on economic principles that have been tested in the past. Yes we are forging new ground, but never before has the WORLD’s economy depended on it. Obama is not out to socialize, he’s out to stabilize. GM and etc will return to private ownership.

…because one group understands how to create wealth and the other knows how to use it up.

There’s your problem right there, I think you’ve got your groups backwards. Labor creates wealth. Concentration of wealth depresses demand, which then depresses supply. Supply-side economics has always failed miserably everywhere it’s been implemented, leading to mass human suffering and collapse. The invisible hand automatically matches supply to demand. Thus, policy should address demand, not supply. You have everything exactly backwards if you want a strong economy.

But you don’t care about that. You’ve been brainwashed by a number of astroturf movements funded by the extremely wealthy to work in the interests of the extremely wealthy at the expense of your own. You are a victim.
