Pawlenty: The GOP should be ‘just like Eminem.’

Eminem On Friday night, Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) gave the keynote address at the College Republicans National Convention. Perhaps seeking cachet with his young audience, he referred to a stunt at the recent MTV Movie Awards, and suggested that the Republican Party should be “just like” the rapper Eminem:

Opening his remarks with a reference to NBC’s “Inside the Obama White House” special, Pawlenty told the gathering of about 200 students, “I haven’t seen something that staged since that half-naked Austrian fell onto the face of Eminem at the MTV music awards.”

“Eminem was mad,” he continued, to laughter and applause. “And so, just like Eminem getting dumped on, we’ve got to kind of regroup. We’ve got to continue to fight. And we’ve got some things worth fighting for.”

Considering Eminem has been criticized for sexism and homophobia, perhaps he is already serving as a model for the modern conservative movement.

Update Was Pawlenty aware that Eminem's current single features a line about his desire to "nail" Sarah Palin and tell her, "Baby say hello to my little friend"?

Of course it was “staged”. That’s the only way that many people could have been in the whitehouse without causing total chaos.

I guess that Pawlenty is forgetting that pretty much every public appearance by George Bush was staged from hand picking his audience, having hand picked people in the background and a rubber Turkey.

So, now that Pawlenty has announced he’s not running for Governor again (knowing full well that he would be defeated), and knowing his presidential aspirations, is he now going to jump on the “bash Obama” bandwagon?

Didn’t Eminem just admit to having had a drug addiction problem, too? Is Pawlenty saying that the Pubbies are (like Eminem and Rush Limpballs) a drug addicted freak? Good job, Pawlenty — between him, Jindal, Palin and Gingrich they have a great bunch of leaders — of course, after Rush, that is.

But the FACT is that Eminem was not MAD… he wasn’t getting dumped on. He pretended because he likes Cohen and wanted to help him in his skit.

Is Pawlenty suggesting that Republicans are getting fake mad to further the Democratic parties agenda?

    That does explain a lot…

JIMMY: Well, now the scuttlebutt is that it was all staged. He was in on the joke, but still…

PAWLENTY: But still, homesexual anuses are being dropped unfairly onto poor rappers! Jimmy, I think we have a winner with this. I’m going to talk all about it in my speech!

Sorry fool. The younger end of the voting demographic simply doesn’t watch FOX or listen to fools like Savage, Limbaugh etal. Most, if not all, get their info from the intertubes these days. They care about their Country’s future, are curious to find actual facts (hence the shunning of right wing BS) and take the time to research the truth. Sorry trolls if the truth has a liberal bias but your party had a good run forcefeeding their lies, hate and fear to the LIV’s for decades. The internet savvy younger generation isn’t buying what you’re selling anymore. Have you idiots considered just how bleak the future of the Republican Party is? As the current older generation of LIV’s, gullible rednecks and religious extremist’s die off, that younger generation (overwhelmingly Democratic) will be securing the Republic Party’s relegation to the scrap heep of history. The GOP held power so long because they were masters of propaganda, lies, strawmen and projection. Sadly for them but liberating for the rest of the Nation, now it only takes a few minutes on teh Google to get the truth. The Nation is on to the GOP bullshit and it reeks.

Why can’t you find ONE professional willing to say ’sometimes’ waterboarding is a good idea do you think?
All the professionals who think this were actually performing the waterboarding? Telling, don’t you think?

Their daily diatribes of anger, lies, smears and intollerance are a sure-fire recipe for expanding that party, right? You’re in your forties right? So when you were “maturing” past your youth America was enjoying a time of economic expansion in the eighties and throughout the nineties. The future was so bright you had to wear shades right? Well the young generation today is all too aware of the mess that Republicans have left this Nation. They know all too well coming out of college that good, well paying jobs are all but non-existent (thank you Repubs), the economic future, although recovering, has been all but hobbled by an uncaring and corporate owned Republic Party. Sure they may party and sow the seeds of youth, hell what generation didn’t? I can sense the anger and fear in your pathetic posts because you know that the future of the GOP is bleak.

Correct. As an American citizen, it is your duty to pay your fair share towards the maintenance of America. The fact that you seek to skirt your duty tells me just how much of a “patriot” you really are.

    the freedom Says:

where did i say i hated kids? i dislike the democratic meme that shills pop culture whores as “the future of america.”

We aren’t responsible for pop culture. We just think it’s stupid to demonize it as a political tactic.

    .

    Romartin16985 Says:

You need to watch what you say, as you are too ready to make insinuations that you have no business making.

Why did you touch up all those children, anyway?

    .

    the freedom Says:

    Hey, A “Patriot”

…put that up against my extensive employment record…

Congratulations, you’re the one millionth wingnut to come in here and act like holding down a job should earn you a medal! I hate to break it to you, but it’s not that hard. All us grown-ups do it. Life is not the Special Olymics, dude.

    .

    Romartin16985 Says:

…and now we have an administration that is leading us to economic ruin.

In contrast to the last administration, who led us to – oh wait.

  159. kdgamergirl says:

… and on the actual topic:

Em’s actually not a bad guy. My father worked for him for about two years when he would film a video, do a photo shoot or perform out here in LA (my dad’s a makeup/special effects artist). A lot of the anger is an act to sell albums.

  160. Romartin16985 says:

    elbruce

There is something wrong with you, get help soon.

    Romartin16985 Says:

    Not one name, huh?

  162. Romartin16985 says:

    belaccifer

    Still obsessing over that point?

You need to ask your President for that information.

  163. belaccifer lacca says:

    Still obsessing over that point?

You need to ask your President for that information.

No- to have any credibility on this issue you need to find one professional interrogator willing to say that these techniques are effective and warranted SOMETIMES… all the one’s I’ve named say NEVER.

Where’s one name (they don’t have to admit doing it- just thinking it makes sense) of a professional interrogator who agrees with you.

    One.

Otherwise your argument doesn’t hold any water. And you support ineffective and illegal techniques despite the advice of professionals… which at the very least is criminally negligent and stupid.

One name who agrees with you.

  164. Romartin16985 says:

    belaccifer

    Now you’re perseverating and obsessing.

  165. belaccifer lacca says:

No- you can’t name one… that doesn’t tell you something, Romartin? There’s not one professional even willing to say that SOMETIMES, under exactly the right circumstances, waterboarding is both effective and warranted.

    That’s your argument, right?

That mostly it’s a bad idea, but that SOMETIMES it’s necessary?

Why can’t you find ONE PROFESSIONAL INTERROGATOR who says that. At this point I’d settle for one who DOESN’T say the exact opposite.

    ONE.

But you can’t, ’cause there isn’t one… why do you ignore ALL that evidence?

  166. Romartin16985 says:

    belaccifer

I’ve answered your question many times.

When you ask the same thing or do the same thing over and over and expect a different result than the one you’ve been getting, isn’t that one of the definitions of insanity?

  167. belaccifer lacca says:

You haven’t answered my question at all.

You have avoided dealing with my question and put me off by claiming that the names I seek are in the classified documents that Cheney claims the CIA is withholding.

I ask you one last time… are the ONLY people in the world who think this works and is a good idea the ones who ACTUALLY did it or ordered it?

You don’t see that as a problem? A conflict of interest?

If this worked sometimes, under specific circumstances, couldn’t you find just ONE professional to say that?

    But I’ve looked… and I can’t find one.

And you haven’t been able to, either.

And yet you’re sure that Cheney must be right and proper and that it is the names of Professional interrogarors I’ve provided , many of whom describe themselves as both pragmatic and REPUBLICAN, who have an ax to grind and have ‘political motives’ for coming out against it…

Do you really wanna start defining insanity?

  168. ElBruce says:

    Romartin16985 Says:

I’ve answered your question many times.

It would be shorter to just type out the name than to say what you said there…

  169. wiley says:

The idea that becoming Republican is a natural part of maturation is bunk. Try to find a Depression-baby that’s not a staunch Democrat. I used to think I just adored the elderly, til I met the generation that came after the people who remembered the Great Depression. The generation after them is generally priggish and authoritarian—the angry, bitter Fox News viewers.

If the Depression babies were alive in sufficient numbers during the W. era—you would have seen the effects of their activism. They would have been out rocking the vote, and educating people about the issues and the way government works in droves.

Alas, there aren’t that many of them left. It seems we have depressions and major wars when the last generation that remembers them has died out.
