How any of these people can run their septic containers and claim that picking someone based on personal characteristics is mind-boggling. So, for the umpteenth time, “106 of the 110 justices have been white men”.

It’s common sense. We can all be empathetic but the reality is no one knows gay issues like gay people, women’s issues like women, African-American issues like African-Americans, and, yes, white guy issues like whtie guys.

The only potential tragedy in making a diverse court is not that it is being made, it is that, because white people (especially men) are still so much in power positions that SOME try to send up known token sellouts who are nothing more than lapdogs (e.g. Clarence Thomas).

I too would be glad to re-evaluate my thinking if a conservative offered a compelling reason to look at things differently. I have done it on occasion.

But our trolls aren’t even close to capable. They’re not even capable of paying the entrance fee, let alone of offering an argument that would make sense to us.

They’re inherent lack of empathy is one reason (they simply cannot construct an argument crafted to appeal to any mindset but their own).

My friend, I applaud and respect your efforts to “tame” the trolls into either putting up a logical argument to back up even 1% of what they say or kindly leave the premises. I, too, would prefer to engage them on a more intellectual level than they seem capable of achieving.

I wish they would understand that I don’t think I’m right all the time, and I will be the first to admit when I am uncertain of my facts (and I usually try to say so). But I do have a reason why I believe I am right (when I do), and I want to have a real discussion with a real conservative (preferably an articulate and intelligent one, not one who’s conservative because his father was and who doesn’t know anything about conservative philosophy) so I can challenge my own thinking, to see if it stands up to critical thought. So far, none of the current “batch o’ troll(s)” has given me any logical, fact-based reason to make me change my mind.

I support you in whatever you wish to do with respect to your troll-wrangling efforts. Good luck, my friend. When do I get to open up a can o’ whoopass-NY-sarcasm?
