Gaffney still hasn't responded to the allegations, now coming from many quarters, that he's a secret Muslim.

Here's an intriguing observation - Gaffney has a beard. Obama doesn't have a beard. Is Gaffney trying to shift accusations of his secret-Muslim-ness by pointing fingers at Obama? Some people are curious.

Has anybody looked into the possibility that Gaffney is a Muslim? I've heard that maybe Gaffney is a Muslim. In fact, more and more people are saying it's an interesting possibility. So evidence is mounting that Gaffney might be a Muslim. Can Gaffney provide proof that he isn't a Muslim? He might still be a Muslim...

cd:

It doesn't matter whether Obama is a Christian, Muslim, or any religion. The wingnuts are simply afraid of a man with a funny name (as Obama said on the campaign trial for the Presidency)of being a successful President as we had for 8 years of the worst President ever. His name doesn't bother mev either. My concern is that he cleans up the mess done by Bush and be the public servant to the American people. This redundant rhetoric to whether Obama is Muslim or not is nothing but fear mongering and the wingnuts are running out of ideas of attack against Obama.

bitblt,
I truly think you have completely missed the entire premise of Christianity. How do you propose you are to deliver the word of God with arrogance and contempt? The Christ I believe in would never accept the behavior.

bitblt Says:

bit believes the remark in BHO’s speech was a code phrase.

bit believes a lot of stupid things. But in this instance, bit is correct. It's code for "I don't hate you for your religion and I respect your right to practice it."

.

bitblt Says:

The Quran is overtly anti-Christ. It denies his death and resurrection.

Jews also deny Christ's death and resurrection. So... death to Israel?

Not believing Jesus is the risen-from-the-dead, only-begotten Son of God sent to redeem the sins of mankind does not make one anti-Christian, it only makes one not a Christian.

If you're hereby declaring war on behalf of Christianity on all non-Christians in the world, prepare to get your ass kicked.

.

bitblt Says:

So if the Quran specifically denies Jesus as the Sone of God, what would be BHO's purpose in mentioning these three big religous names?
You want to know his purpose? Let's go to the text:

All of us have a responsibility to work for the day when the mothers of Israelis and Palestinians can see their children grow up without fear; when the Holy Land of three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer.

There's his purpose, right there. You don't need any secret codes, you can just read what he's saying: the "Holy Land" has historically been fought over by three closely related faiths, and maybe they should get along with each other instead.

How can bit know how a Muslim interprets words? Is it possible bit is really a closeted Muslim?

Cheap shot... even for dbadass.

http://www.ldolphin.org/islamprimer.html

The Quran is overtly anti-Christ. It denies his death and resurrection. The Quran rejects Jesus as the Son of God (Quran 4:171), and states that Jesus is not the sacrifice of God (Quran 4:157). The Bible and the Quran are inherently opposed and you cannot reconcile the two on this issue. Because the Quran strongly and continually denies Christ, there is a side to the Quran that is overtly demonic in inspiration. Many Muslims and Christians affirm that the Quran has a tremendous amount of influence and power, with the help of spiritual forces.

Grouping Moses/Jesus/Mohammed together might follow a tradition of holding them as being of roughly equal holiness, but the tradition of using that phrase does not require adherence to any specific theological tenet. It's just a tradition of respect and wishing well to others. Something you are congenitally incapable of understanding.

bit believes he accurately described how mentioning these names together is interpreted by Muslims.

However, strictly speaking using that phrase does not require adherence to any specific theological tenet this is a statement with which bit agrees. OTOH, bit accepted some time ago that his thinking is not the same as a typical Muslim. You might want to work with the idea that not everyone is as open-minded or tolerant as you, or bit.
Even bit isn’t as leading or deceptive as you.

bit believes the remark in BHO’s speech was a code phrase. After all there would be no reason to use the phrase with a Christian audience.

bitblt,
You may spent your time with the literal interpitation of the New Testment, that is your right. I sincerely believe you have entirely missed Christ's point. Think of the greateat commandment Christ gave us. Gaffeny was not speaking in the spirit of this law. Yes, as Christians we must repect anothers beliefs, for we can not know if they are pleasing the Lord with their life works. My belief as a Christian is in no way contigent on your beliefs but I must respect your beliefs in a singular God.
Simply put, respect of another person is how the world should get along. President Obama did a fine job of demonstrating this and is setting a fine example to the rest of the world, and this alone would please the good Lord.

bitblt Says:

There is nothing in the New Testament that suggests that all religions – religious pluralism – are to be respected. Your remark reflects a political view, not a religious one.

There are a lot of ecumenical groups who would disagree. Are you saying Christians who tolerate the existence of other faiths aren't really Christian? In that case, you're going to have to kill a lot of people before your current Crusade is over, many of them Christians.

.

bitblt Says:

In addition the following statement; ““peace be upon them” when referring to Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed,” serves a specific purpose to Muslims...

bit doesn’t believe this is an appropriate statement for a Christian to make.

Peace be upon you, bitblt. That's not a secret code, it's pretty damn clear. As a matter of fact, Jesus used to say it all the time.

Where is the evidence that god had a son? Who did god knock up?

On the other hand, aren't we all sons of God, if He created us all in His image?

So if you believe we all sons of God because we were created in God’s image, then don’t you believe that abortion is a reprehensible action against the Creator, who created life?

hoodathunkit - The real world doesn't always operate the way you describe, it is more nuanced than that, but I'm not surprised this escapes you.

Anyway, now that it's okay to talk about Obama's Muslim father and his experiences with Islam, of course there are questions, as this was taboo during his campaign!
