I imagine that Cheney is upset that he couldn’t get his right-wing Nazi dictatorship set up in the eight nightmarish years that he was allotted by the American electorate and thus he continues to rant and rave. He was never any good for anyone either in America or anywhere else in the world. Good riddance to Cheney; here’s hoping that he will shut the hell up.

And any time you have some of the senior leaders continuing to lay out their case for what they believe, it probably usurps the voice of new leaders coming in.

That’s right. Cheney and company are holding back progress.

–deregulation
–tax breaks for the rich
–a renewed war on terror (i.e. Muslims)
–more rendition and better torture
–better ways to force women to have babies
–wider income disparity
–stick with our current health care system–almost as good as Cuba’s
–privatize vital government services–especially intelligence-gathering
–continue surveillance of all non-Republican citizens
–revitalized Justice Department prosecution of Democratic leaders
–a new generation of vote-flipping software.

I see the Republican party heading the same way they did with Nixon. They defended Nixon until it became so obvious they were drowning while going down with the ship. They did not have the common sense to run away as fast as they could. Likewise, they are defending Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al, because they are clinging to the idea that somehow this will all turn out alright. The torture issue is a ticking timebomb that could explode and severely injure the party. Cheney is pushing the party into a corner from which they cannot gracefully exit. And when they do try to run away, it will get ugly with a lot of casualties from the internecine warfare.
