Megyn Kelly claims that the only reason people consider Fox News conservative is because of Sean Hannity.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who was hired because she believed there is “a left bias in the news,” tells Haute Living that she thinks the network’s conservative reputation is unfounded. Claiming that Bill O’Reilly is “all over the board” politically, Kelly claimed that people only think Fox is right-wing “because of Hannity”:

When asked about her employer’s reputation for being conservative, she attributed those perceptions to the network’s primetime host lineup, not its news coverage. “There is no question that Hannity is a conservative,” she says. “But I can tell you from personal experience after having worked with O’Reilly for years now, you never know where he is going to come out on an issue. He definitely leans right when it comes to certain social, traditional value issues, but he’s all over the board on certain other issues. And Greta-nobody knows exactly what her stripes are. I think [the conservative reputation is] really because of Hannity.”

Kelly is wrong. Fox is considered “the most biased name in news” for much more than just Sean Hannity. Not only does Fox regularly parrot right-wing talking points and promote right-wing events, but its executives want the network to be the “voice of opposition” to the Obama administration. Kelly also neglected to mention Fox’s rising star, Glenn Beck, who proudly calls himself a conservative.

    MEGYN KELLY: I think…

    That was your first mistake.

Except we have Bill O on tape saying he’s a libertarian.

  3. fletc3her says:

Fox News hires both kinds: conservative and neoconservative.

  4. tombaker says:

Lousy job of smokescreening there, Ms Overpaid-and-Over-sprayed.

  5. Buckie Boy says:

Fox spends it’s entire day catapulting the propaganda. They distort and lie in nearly every story they air.

    – - Do REAL, average Americans (who just happen to be TV personalities) give interviews to elitist media like Haute Living? Apparently, yes.

  7. Afrolib says:

She also forgot to mention those three clowns that host the “Fox and Hate” show in the mornings.

  8. RUCeriousMaggot! says:

Claiming that Bill O’Reilly is “all over the broad” more like it.,

  9. Zooey says:

    watchdog is a frackin’ idiot.

  10. shoeless says:

I don’t consider Fox News to be conservative. I consider them to be authoritarian, fascist, purveyors of right-wing propaganda.

  11. Purple State says:

One should not judge the affiliation of a network by the reputations of the anchors and media personalities alone. Let’s not forget that the guests themselves are largely representative of the Republican/conservative base.

  12. Chocolate Jesus says:

Whose Sean Hannity? Was he the lawyer working for Fox who (successfully) argued that Fox News had the constitutionally protected right to knowingly lie to its audience and call it news..?

  13. The Dogfather says:

Sheesh — there’s that damned buzzing sound again…

  14. Afrolib says:

Someone needs to ask her when Fox ever gave credit to a Democrat or decry a Republican.

Everyone except Alan Colmes leans right on that show. Period. As a matter of fact they lean far right.

MSNBC leans left but is generally very objective when reporting their news.

…aaaand another competitor challenges Feith’s title.

  16. P.D. says:

Oh please. What about creepy Glen Beck? That guy is more paranoid than anyone else. O’Lielly is a right-wing shill. These people don’t live in reality. That’s easy to do when you are rich and surround yourselves with white bread elitists.

  17. calavzma says:

i haven’t sat through the entirety of o’reilly’s show in a long time but i do remember that at the end he would love to read emails from viewers calling him out on being both too liberal and too conservative.

he likes to pretend he’s moderate… but i think he knows that the only people who think he leans left are completely insane.

  18. The Dogfather says:

“He definitely leans right when it comes to certain social, traditional value issues, but he’s all over the board on certain other issues.”

Other than his apparent views on gay flightless polar waterfowl, I can’t think of one issue where O’Falafel is anything but right-leaning…

  19. angels81 says:

watchpuppy, nobody listens to anything you’ve got to say. Your one of these “yeah but” trolls. Whatever the thread is, you come on with “Yeah but”. When are you going to get it? Nobody cares what you have to say.

  20. hormiga brava chavez says:

Megyn Kelly is delusional. Perfect example of that alternate universe Krauthammer was talking about.

  21. RUCeriousMaggot! says:

Sorry O/T but I just finished reading an MSNBC article on the Holocaust museum shooter that ends with this

“John de Nugent, an acquaintance who describes himself as a white separatist, noticed the change when they last spoke two weeks ago….
The responsible white separatist community condemns this,” he said. “It makes us look bad.”

    RESPONSIBLE WHITE SEPARATIST COMMUNITY?

    DAMNED RIGHT THEY’RE RESPONSIBLE.

Just not in the way he was saying it.

  22. Doc Rock says:

Megyn stealin’ somebody’s medical marijuana, again?

  23. misscoleopteramolly says:

If Megyn thinks Hannity is the only wingnut in the lineup, she’s mistaken.

Does she truly believe we going to buy that Glenn Beck, Brit Hume, Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson, Bill O’Reilly, Greta van Susteran, Brit Hume, Mike Huckabee, and even Megyn Kelly herself aren’t conservative?

Let her point out some genuine liberals in the Fox News stable and I might give some credence to what she says.

  24. spring heeled jack says:

Well, the Fox folks think that this site is far, far-left so their concept of the political spectrum is horribly skewed.

I mean, Noam Chomsky’s gotta be sooooo far left that he fell off their flat earth.

  25. hanshiro the antlion says:

    22. RUCeriousMaggot! Says: The responsible white separatist community condemns this,” he said. “It makes us look bad.”

I do not think that word means what he thinks it means…

  26. Mark @ News Corpse says:

If you need any additional evidence of Fox’s far-right bias, just take a look at the extensive library of books by the folks at Fox News:

The Fox News Conservative Book Promotion Channel

This is all the evidence you should need.

  27. Zimzone says:

Is the same bag of dung that claimed Barack & Michell were exchanging ‘terrorist fist bumps’?

Glenn Beck also refers to himself as a rodeo clown.

Glenn Beck is actually consistent about something.

  30. angels81 says:

    AmericasBack, thanks for the laugh.

  31. Doom Siren says:

Yeah… I’ll take Kelly’s word for it. I mean, she’s such an experienced analyst and professional journalist….

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note to Fox: No one with an IQ above 2 is going to take that airhead Kelly seriously on anything!

  32. spencers mom says:

Didn’t one of the escaped asylum inmates claim just yesterday that FuxNews had intentionally created not just an alternate opinion but an alternatre reality when it comes to its reporting?

The wingnuttery talking point distribution mechanism is no longer functioning. Thank FSM.

And that makes real conservatives very angry.

  37. pete says:

I’m not surprised she left Becky out. She’s setting up a plausible deniability defense for when he gets dragged away, shrieking and frothing at the mouth, by the men in the white coats.

Didn’t one of the escaped asylum inmates claim just yesterday that FuxNews had intentionally created not just an alternate opinion but an alternatre reality when it comes to its reporting?

Yes. Think about this. The right-wingers at Fox went to court to win the right to lie and call it “News”. Now they are coming out and openly admitting that they have created a fictional world for their dumbass viewers.

So, if the right-wingers are admittingly lying, and the progressives are telling people the opposite story, that necessarily means the progressives are telling the truth.

  39. gummble-bee-itch says:

Let’s see if the echo chamber starts resonating with the same tripe from others at FauxNews. “We’re not conservative!” Then we’ll know they’re trying to position themselves as The Center.

If there are no echoes, than I would guess Megyn is trying to cover her own butt and find a job on a legitimate network.

  40. Wiz says:

Even though she is wrong, if her denial is indicative a level of discomfort with the situation at Fox, that may indicate the presence of a conscience. Therefore she is in danger of losing her job.

  41. Leftside Annie says:

Oh, Jebus. She of “terrorist fist jab” fame is attempting to sound intelligent *again*…?

Give it up, you hopeless, brainless wingnut bimbo.

  42. ElBruce says:

Of course, nobody knows what “liberal” or “conservative” even mean in their alternative reality. For all us here on Earth might know, they’ve got nothing to do with political positions at all.

I believe Ms. Hill is Now looking for work.

  48. spencers mom says:

    OT, but classic!

Apparently Palin has decided to take on David Letterman! Hardball has a segment today explaining that Letterman made a joke about a Yankees game where the Palins were in attendance, and he said “During the 7th inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

Okay, tasteless but that’s why so many love Dave! Well, Todd the First Dud then issued a statement saying that Letterman was advocating the violent rape of his 14-year-old daughter Willow. Letterman then responded last night by saying that there are thousands of jokes that he might regret having told, but that he absolutely would never say or do anything to contribute to underage sexual abuse or misconduct.

Not good enough for the First Dud. His next statement said basically “Nice try. Regardless of which daughter was present, these sexually perverted comments are outside the acceptance of mainstream America.”

Do the Palins really want to get into it with Letterman? I mean, really really? Short memories or just plain stoopid.

    PEACE

  57. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

Is this person really that deluded or does she actually believe her lies? Billo has never uttered anything other than right wing propaganda and the remainder of their talking heads wouldn’t know a liberal thought if it hit them upside the head with a two-by-four.

  58. dasm says:

Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck, Doucey, Kelly herself– the list goes on & on of the Fox right-wing radicals who lie, twist, & distort the facts, & promote hatred & encourage extremists. Not to mention all their hateful, bigoted, sexist guests like Coulter, etc. Seems some of the Fox crew are getting a little nervous about the extremist assassins lately, and well they should, as Fox feeds them venom every day.

  59. Xisithrus says:

Conservatives attack Shep Smith for his Holocaust museum shooting remarks, call for firing

Cant say didnt see that one coming…

oh well, peace be upon them..

  61. KayInMaine says:

Ummmmmm, Melon Kelly? The reason why Fox News is conservative, because all Americans know that “Fox” really stands for “Fascist”. See? Fascist News. All who report on this channel are jackboot lickers to the American Taliban.

  73. rstlssmt says:

How did Rupert Murdoch get rich enough to start Fox News? Wasn’t it tabloid ‘journalism’? Isn’t that what Fox news essentially is?
I say he’s following in the footsteps of Wm. R. Hearst: make the news if that’s what it takes to make money. Appeal to the basest fears. Profit is everything.
Think about it. He’s been very successful.

Honestly if you don’t think Fox News is “the most neutral” news out there, i don’t know what is wrong with you, and don’t tell me CNN, MSNBC, CBS or any of those other ones are factual news, i only watch them whenever i need to get my adrenaline really running, they are twice to the left of what Fox is to the right and i’m being CONSERVATIVE by saying that.
