Report ties increase in hate crimes to ‘anti-immigrant vitriol.’
A new report by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund shows a close correlation between the increasingly volatile immigration debate and a growing number of hate crimes against Latinos and “perceived immigrants.” The report, “Confronting the New Faces of Hate,” calls out a number of restrictionist groups that consistently invoke anti-immigrant rhetoric as they try to make the case against immigration:
“In one of the most disturbing developments of recent years, some groups opposing immigration reform, such as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), and NumbersUSA, have inflamed the immigration debate by invoking the dehumanizing, racist stereotypes and bigotry of hate groups.”
According to the Washington Post, hate crimes against Latinos have been going up for four consecutive years, jumping from 426 to 595 incidents in the last year alone with a 40 percent overall increase between 2003 and 2007.

He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration.
“The military actually called for the BORTAC team, … the elite unit of the Border Patrol, to be detailed to Iraq to help to secure the Iraqi border,” Cutler notes. “Now, if our military can understand that Iraq’s security depends in measure on the ability to protect its border against insurgents and terrorists, then why isn’t our country similarly protecting our own borders?” he asks.
“We are now five and a half years, nearly, after 9/11, and yet our borders remain open,” the Center for Immigration Studies fellow observes. “We have National Guardsmen assigned on the border, but it turns out they are unarmed,” he points out. “Their rules of engagement are very simple: if armed intruders head your way, run in the other direction.”
This situation would “almost be comical if it wasn’t so tragic,” Cutler asserts. “If our borders are wide open, this means that drugs, criminals, and terrorists are entering our country just as easily as the dishwashers,” he says.
The report from FSM estimates that the 267,000 illegal aliens currently incarcerated in the nation are responsible for nearly 1,300,000 crimes, ranging from drug arrests to rape and murder. Such statistics, Cutler contends, debunk the claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. “Then we even have another problem,” he adds, “and that’s the Visa Waiver Program.”
The federal government’s Visa Waiver Program enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. According to the U.S. State Department website, the waiver program was established in 1986 with the objective of “eliminating unnecessary barriers to travel,” stimulating America’s tourism industry, and allowing the government to focus consular resources in other areas.
Cutler says the U.S. retains the Visa Waiver Program because the nation’s travel, tourism, and hospitality industries want America’s borders wide open. In other words, the former INS official contends, the nation’s security is being compromised in the name of trade.

Ms. Myers was killed when Maguino’s vehicle hit her while the senior citizen was crossing the street. Maguino fled the scene of the accident and later turned himself into police. Police determined that Chavez did not have a driver’s license.
The Prosecutors office has recommended probation and community service.

The child died after Rangel-Ochoa’s vehicle crashed into the Bluhm family minivan. Rangel-Ochoa was on his way to a construction site where he was working illegally as a drywall installer. The vehicle Rangel-Ochoa was driving was owned by his brother. Rangel-Ochoa was uninsured.
Rangel-Ochoa has been charged with driving on a suspended license and motor vehicle homicide.
Rangel-Ochoa has reportedly been living in the U.S. for 14 years. Although he has had several prior arrests, including multiple DUI arrests, he was never turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for being in the U.S. illegally.

Officer Stone who was riding his motorcycle while off-duty was allegedly hit by Chavez whose BMW reportedly crossed into Stone’s path, causing the fatal accident.
Police determined that Chavez did not have a driver’s license and that he and his passenger, Barrea Montes were both in the country illegally.

Haro, who had been previously been deported several times for other crimes, was driving under the influence on June 24, 2006 in which he crashed his vehicle into Knospe and left Knospe to die in the roadway.
Haro had previously served prison time for another crash in 1993, after which he was deported but later illegally re-entered the United States.

On the evening of November 6, 1963, Laura Welch, 17, failed to stop her Chevy sedan at a stop sign and smashed into a Corvair being driven by Michael Douglas, also 17. Welch and her passenger, Judy Dykes, were treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. Douglas died from his injuries after being thrown from his car and breaking his neck. No police charges were filed and paperwork from the accident is missing or unclear.
Laura Welch fully recovered, married and took her husband’s name. She is now known as Laura Bush.

Progressives still have an uphill battle to fight. We are fighting one of the most immoral and evil political organizations to ever blight the American political landscape.
