I love that Rohrabacher feels so ‘empowered’ to threaten any country from his comfortable big chair in Washington. The reality that all these OLD men, who have lost any natural testosterone they may have had earlier in their lives, have become these ranting fools, yelling at clouds. As his partner, John McCain knows about railing at clouds, these idiots do not have a clue about foreign diplomacy or how to handle foreign affairs. They are big and strong as they hide behind others who have to make the real decisions. What rear ends these old men are. Time to kick them out of office.

Dana Rohrabacher is not a congenital fool; from time to time has has gotten ahead of the curve. John McCain, the presumptive grown-up in the party, has made similarly idiotic statements. Their path would undermine the reformers and legitimize repression by the hardest of hard-liners in Iran. No one outside of the squared-circle or America’s neocon hardcore thinks that US intervention would do anything but harm. Even Pat Buchannan praised President Obama’s balanced and calm statements on Iran. How can so many voices within the GOP be so stridently and obviously wrong. This is truly a party in disarray. Is there sufficient wisdom left in America’s conservative wing to stop these intemperate voices from doing irreparable harm ? This may well be a tipping point in the history of the region; it is no time for ham-handed amateurs to blow their own horns.

Congressman Rohrabacher, please, sit down and shut up.

I think the President has said before that he likes to know what he’s talkin’ about before he opens his mouth to discuss it. We cannot afford to have a knee jerk, testosterone laced reaction to a situation that requires laser-like finesse in order to impact the outcome. I found the fly-killing incident to be a great analogy of how the President is managing these issues with Iran and North Korea. He waited patiently until the right time to strike and did so with his mind focused on the end result he was looking for. Walking around with a big club only lets the target know you are coming way before you strike. How effective is that?

I will like to know what Rohrabacher did when Bush did not stand up to the Chinese when our Plane was shot down on the Strait of Taiwan and we were told to pickup the phone by dismantling the plane instead of flying it out. Dana lets be sincere in our criticism instead of been hypocrites.

In 1956 similar unrest began in Hungary against the Communist dictatorship closely aligned with the Soviet Union. American blowhards like Rohrabacher trumpeted their solidarity with the democratic aspirations of the Hungarians, encouraging their growing ambitions.
When the Soviet Union struck to put down the uprising,America offered no military or diplomatic support. Tens of thousands of Hungarians lost their lives.
Would Rohrabracher risk his little finger for these Iranian demonstrators. In diplomacy you have to be willing to put your life where your mouth is.

As I mentioned a day or two ago, someone should remind — or more likely, inform — Congresscritter Rohrabacher about a certain little incident in the history of US-Iranian relations called Operation Ajax, and the fact that interfering in Iranian elections in the past came back to bite us in the backside. It was our support for the Shah and our machinations on his behalf — namely, the Eisenhower administration’s decision to oust the democratically-elected Mohammed Mossadegh in the Shah’s favor — which was at least partly responsible for the hostage crisis following the return of the Ayatollahs and the hostility which they have borne towards us ever since. Would we have reacted any differently if the situations had been reversed and it was they who had told us that we didn’t have the right to decide who our own leaders would be — especially if they claimed to be a champion of democracy but were deliberately subverting it in our case purely so that they could maintain easy access to a valuable natural resource?
