Holy crap, I went back to it, and found that one of my Senators, Ron Wyden (D-OR) a long-standing progressive, was still listed as “don’t know” to “do you support a public healthcare option?” Fortunately, I was able to send him a quick and easy message:

I was looking at the website:

that tracks where each Congressman and Senator stands on supporting a public option for health care and was surprised to find you listed as “Don’t know.”

Really? Please let me know. Here are the four questions they require:

* Do you support a public healthcare option as part of reform?
* Do you support a public healthcare option that is ready on day one?
* Do you support a public healthcare option that is national, available everywhere, and accountable to our government?
* Do you support a public healthcare option that has the clout to establish rates with providers and big drug companies?

I had always thought of you as a leader on progressive issues and another reason to be proud to be an Oregonian, but your lack of a listed stance on this greatly concerns me. Please get on record as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hopefully his office will be able to update him soon. Wyden isn’t a guy that progressives usually have to worry about.

The point is, why focus only on the lying liars on the left and not talk about those that expected the support of progressives and liberals in the fall.

And now don’t seem to stand for a single thing they said.

Talking about anything else at this point, is a distraction – the repugs & faux have been marginalized.

What about holding the other side accountable too?

The trouble is that the CBO numbers on Obama’s plan came back at $1.6T over ten years. Most were hoping to do it for under $1T. That $600B gap is going to be tough to make up; it would involve either slashing up the plan or drumming up a lot more support than is evident so far.

Another Joe – we discussed that issue this morning.

The status of the so-called ‘health reform’ measure is extremely discouraging and it would appear that the insurance company profits and executive compensation will remain outrageous with little to no change and that health insurance coverage will remain out of reach for many citizens.

But this thread is about Boehner’s flip-flop on whether or not the stimulus can create jobs.
