tHE GOP is being absolutely hypocritical when it comes to bipartisanship. They have made it clear that bipartisanship only means surrendering to the GOP and passing legislation that THEY want. Obama has done much more than the GOP ever did when it comes to reaching out, and what have they shown him? They have obstructed from day 1 and continue to do so with the president’s nominees. They’re trying to pull the same delaying game that they did to Clinton’s nominees, some whom were placed on hold and never got the GOP’s precious “up or down” vote. You weren’t shedding any tears over that, were you?

Who says he was my first Messiah? Clinton? He was the BEST Republican president besides Abraham Lincoln we ever had, and that’s not saying much about the GOP…Clinton was no liberal as you right-wingers love to claim. Don’t assume things about people you don’t know…My point is that Bush was talking about how he inherited a recession but the facts disprove his theory.

My 2nd point was to call you out for criticizing Obama for claiming he inherited a mess when Bush spent his whole years trying to do the same thing…of course everything he sought to blame on Clinton…

Were you blaming Clinton then for the first WTC bombing? Funny, how he could be blamed for that AND 9/11…talk about personal responsibility from the party of Personal Responsibility…I mean you said so yourself that Bush had barely enough time to get settled down…but I’m not sure if I think you wouldn’t have graciously offered Clinton that same benefit of the doubt…

These are all based on “future projections.”. Are these CBO numbers or were they made up by a “think tank?” Oh wait, your link goes to the Heritage foundation…

What are tne numbers on today’s deficit, right now? Bush has spent more than Obama, period. All of the statements I’ve seen so far that Obama’s spending more turn out to be projections (aka. fantasies) constructed by extremely partisan organizations.

Look, if we had a new (R) in office, I could “project” that he was going to spend a hoojillion dollars in the future, so long as my chart started sometime after tomorrow. It still doesn’t apply to reality, where you and I live.

How exactly do you get someone to work with you when you draw up legislature behind closed doors in a room full of D’s? Don’t listen to what Obama is saying, WATCH what he is doing. This man is a lawyer and one of the most impressive liars that I’ve seen in my life. Do you want me to swing by your house so I can piss down your back and tell you it’s raining? I have a feeling that you’ll curse the weatherman while I’m laughing at you.

I’ll give Bush about 750 Billion in deficit credit which includes a rough ‘08. Obama topped that just with the 787 billion stimulus package not to mention the 400+ billion porktacular budget package. I’ve left plenty out and of course this doesn’t include the projected 1 to 3 trillion required for his health care program.

By the way, if you’re going to require citations for anything that you don’t like, I suggest that you start supplying some links to the BS that you’re spewing.

The R’s even had a budget proposal which the D’s laughed at because they know that they own the house and congress.

If your budget proposal doesn’t have any numbers in it, it’s not a budget proposal. It was a pamphlet. Everybody laughed at that one.

Per your reminder, technically, we’re not actually at war. And it’s a very expensive operation. As Republicans rightly pointed out, pulling out instantly would cause more problems than they solve. But at least he’s talking about an exit strategy rather than shouting “stay the course” forever.

Citation please? That’s contrary to all the numbers I’ve seen unless perhaps you credit Obama with the bailout, which was actually done under Bush.

By your posts you would imply that Bush caused a recession after being in office a month. He barely had time to get his furniture in the White House. By your logic the president is responsible for everything that happens from the day he takes oath. Therefore, every job lost and every dime spent after Obama took oath would be his responsibility. I certainly know that viewpoint isn’t going to be popular on this board. And why would you counter with a video of Bush as he’s leaving office? He didn’t care about saving his reputation, polls or his next term at that point. If we’re just going to start posting random videos then this one is my favorite. I fail to see where telling the truth, i.e. that President Obama is having to deal with the mess left behind by George W. Bush, can be seen as whining. To be honest, if I were Bush, knowing I had created the economic hardship that we are all currently facing and got to simply walk away from any responsibility for it, I think I would be keeping a low profile regarding putting myself in the public eye, let alone trying to critique the guy who’s cleaning up my mess.

In other words, unless W can provide something in the way of a solution to what President Obama is dealing with, he needs to go back on his meds, crawl back into his bottle, and STFU.

That’s not whining or blaming. That’s just a fact. The problem occurred before he was even elected.

Pointing out that an attempt to blame someone is invalid on its factual basis is not the same thing as blaming someone else. And it’s not whining, as he is actually dealing with the problem.

I’m sorry that you don’t like the facts, but that doesn’t make them Obama’s fault.

I cannot agree with Republicans BECAUSE THEY OFFER NO PLAN. They tell us how bad Obama’s budget is without an alternative budget. They tell us how bad “amnesty” for illegal immigrants is, yet they offer no plan to deal with the problem. They won’t even face that things like health care and the economy overall are a problem, let alone offer any ideas for how to improve things. About a year ago Hannity and the other right-wing clowns were saying the economy was just fine and we didn’t need any kind of action.

The Republicans have degenerated into the party of mindless talking points, cheap political tricks, and zero ideas.

By the way, what was the plan to pay for the Iraq War before it was passed? What was the plan for paying for the Medicare drug expansion? What was the idea for how to pay for No Child Left Behind? What was the plan to pay for ANY of the Bush/Republican Congress bills??? Did you forget they took a Clinton-era surplus and turned it into record deficits??? And you are just so outraged about all that spending, you are here defending President Bush.
