To identify one as a societal admonition and another as a personal admonition is an unwarranted attempt to squeeze logic out of the bible. Since the bible says nothing of the kind, doesn&#039;t that place you in the position of speaking for god? &lt;/em&gt;

In truth bit did try a new tack this time. He didn’t mention that both the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Peter made it plain that one didn’t have to be a Jew to be a Christian. The Apostle Peter made it clear that Jewish dietary laws were not binding on Christians. If this is not clear to you, this means that the Apostles Paul and Peter understood that the dietary laws were different from the laws about sexual behavior. 

BTW, do you know where the Biblical punishment is for eating shellfish?

Furthermore, Jesus made it clear in Matthew 19 that the Creator intended that a man and a woman would be one flesh in marriage. As far as bit is concerned this is the definitive authority speaking and the definitive authority stating what is a marriage. In addition, how Jesus describes marriage seems to be the way it is understood by most every culture and person in the all of history.  

&lt;em&gt;You claim that homosexuality is immoral along with polygamy and polyandry. Yet wasn&#039;t polygamy a common practice in Old Testament society? Was Israel considered immoral by god for having two wives? How about Solomon?&lt;/em&gt;

Don’t believe you’ll find anything particularly positive about the practice of polygamy in the Bible.  The Old Testament does record that polygamy was practiced, and it also records that other detrimental behavior – contrary to God’s will – occurred. bit is unaware of any justification in the OT for the modern day practice of polygamy just as he’s unaware of any justification for modern day practice of so-called same-same gender marriage. In fact, bit is unaware of any justification in the Old Testament for the practice of polygamy. 

For examples of what the Bible notes about polygamy, the Bible says that Solomon’s many wives drew his heart away from God, and the Bible notes that the first polygamist was also a murderer. The first polygamist was also a descendent of Cain, a murderer. Other important characters in the Bible had problems because they practiced this form of marriage. 

That plural marriages was problematic seems to be implied in Deuteronomy 17:14..17 where the new, first king of Israel is instructed not  to have multiple wives. You understand that? God instructed the kings of Israel to not have multiple wives. The kings did practice polygamy and they paid for it. King David repented and had only a single wife at the time of his death, but his sexual escapades brought great tragedy to his house.

Also, some of the more important major characters in the Bible - for example Adam, Job, Noah, and Moses - were not polygamist. Polygamy was not a universal practice in the Old Testament., and bit doesn’t believe the practice is mentioned in the New Testament.

&lt;em&gt;Use the sense that god gave you and think for yourself. Blanket assertions of what is moral and immoral reflect ignorance and blind obedience. I go back to my final point. Mind your own F)*^ing business.&lt;/em&gt;

That would be use the sense God gave bit instead of  having to rely on the behavior of penguins for an examples as so many TPers do. Correct?  Do TPers also get their understanding of justice from penguins. 

Believe bit’s statements reflect faithfulness. Sorry faithfulness is a foreign concept to you.

		<description>And I do thank you for your service but perhaps you should also thank me for mine. It was my dream to live life in the military but one accident and some nerve damage and chronic back pain put an end to that.

I&#039;ve done my best to overcome it and yes my education was paid for by federal grants. I&#039;m eternally greatful for it and have no problem with money being taken from my paycheck so others can do the same. It&#039;s called not being selfish and ensuring your fellow Americans have the same chances you did.</description>

I&#039;m also a disabled vet so don&#039;t pull that crap. I live everyday of my life in excruitiating pain. It&#039;s only by the grace of medication that I can function. I still went on to get my BA and I&#039;m continuing on to my MS.

If you actually knew what you were talking about...you would know that I am not forced into using the V.A. health care system...as I have other means of health care available to me and currently use them all.

I have V.A. which covers all of my health needs...but I also have Tri-care...which I can use for civilian care to any Doctor I choose to use...and I still pay for health care through my group employment...which gives me a multilateral use too.

I am not one of the whiny leftest who depends on others...in order to take care of myself. Although I was severely injured while in the service to my country...I decided to overcome as humanly as possible my disabilities and actually finished my 20 year military as an E-8...highly recommended for continue service...but as I could no longer go deployed...I was medically discharged instead.

The old pull yourself up by you&#039;re bootstraps is an actual life&#039;s lesson in some cases and I refuse to become overly dependent on others in my life. So I don&#039;t need some snot nosed liberal telling me how to live or how to bow down to anyone!

If you knew what you were talking about...you would also know that the V.A. is NOT SOCIALIZED medicine...but rather this countries promise to it&#039;s veterans to take care of their injuries while sustained in service to this country. Part of my salary for those 20 years...was computed on my continued medical care for life...which Uncle Sam acknowledged while paying me and my family peanuts for many years to live on...while owning me 24/7.

maybe the best thing you could do in the future is just say thank you to a disabled vet and keep on marching your liberal ways...because you really don&#039;t have a clue on what you are talking about.</description>
