Cynthia I wonder how long you have suffered from mental retardation??? You and all your cronnie republican friends need to shut up because if you don’t the chances of winning in 2012 become slimmer and slimmer!! I actually hope that nuts like you keep talking so we can have another term for President Obama and the congress goes more democratic. At this point with the big imbalance in reps we really don’t need people like you. Your making yourselves extinct and certainly pray for that everyday.

oops… my mistake… it was Noah’s ark… not the other guy… was doing 4 things at once while typing that comment… came across sorta stoopid myself in that, but, at least — unlike the repugs — I admit when I’m wrong, and try to correct my mistake… anyhow, yeah, I work in southwest Missouri, where everyone hates “the gummint”, but where everyone needs, waits for, wants, their “monthly check”… lots of inbred people around here, lots of young people on social security disability because work is “too stressful”… yet, they won’t admit that the “gummint” fixes the roads, street lights, street signs, assures drinkable water… you know, all that unnecessary stuff… after all, there are lots of folks out in the woods around here who manufacture meth, rape kids, steal whatever they can… and they think this lady pol makes absolute sense… I’ll never forget the memorial service I went to in Oklahoma (another ignorant state) where the preacher-man said, “Jesus don’t want no educated people. He don’t like no book-smart folks.” And, every day, such speculation is proven to me again and again… even by educated folks like nurses and doctors, but folks who buy in to the right-wing rhetoric… I don’t understand how the rational part of their brains turns off when they buy in to the Faux News lies… but, it happens… and, I’m sure they, too, agree with this lady pol, while they “tsk, tsk” the bony, growth-stunted, malnourished children, who come to the ER…

Amazing that anyone makes such a stupid statement. When I was 4, my father died. That was about 72 years ago. Now, I realize that younger people simply cannot understand that some had the sad experience of being always hungry. It had nothing to do with laziness, lack of planning and the usual hateful statement that being hungry just does not happen in the US unless osme one is just lazy. Sad to say, during the depression, we did not have enough food. Eventually we went to the fields where food was harvested and my mom and all of her children gleaned and my mother canned every thing we picked. It is amazing that so many lack the ability to be compassionate when folks are in deep trouble. I must say, wonderful neighbors were able to assist us and we truly appreciated their generosity. But emphatically, let me say that ee were NEVER lazy although we were always hungry.

Ms. Davis must have a mistranslated Bible. Mine says that Jesus said the souls who go to heaven will be the ones who saw that “I was hungry and you fed me.” Apparently hers quotes him as saying “I was hungry and you motivated me.”

I work in southwest Missouri, and I can guarantee that the folks whose children receive the meals are the same people who will gladly, and blindly, vote this knucklehead back into office again and again. I worked at McDonald’s when I was in school and they charged for meals. We got a discount sure, but meals were charged. Not free.

What this catch of yours shows is just how out of touch the elite neoconservatives are with regards to the common man and the difficulty of earning a living from a job that doesn’t pay a living wage.

Why have meals at home with your loved ones if you can go to the government soup kitchen and get one for free? This could have the effect of breaking apart more families” Really? blackwidow I can think of two local churches that own property “that is not part of the actual church.” One is a house where the two priests live and the other is a small grove of trees with a mini playground at it’s base.

Hunger is definitely a motivator…
Unfortunately it is often a motivator for not very good reasons.
If one were hungry and had no recourse from available methods of obtaining food, what would one do?
What has been shown time and again is crime (in our opinion, in other animals it’s simply the idea of: “I’ve got to get food!”). If I can’t make enough money to pay for food then I’d steal it.
If I can’t find enough food then I’d kill to get it.
It’s pretty basic if you think about it.
Humans have to try to support themselves, regardless of how it might effect others around us. It’s a measure of our societal evolution that has allowed us to even consider this idea and find it unacceptable.
