Family Research Council removes Sanford’s picture from Values Voters Summit website.

Previously, the website for the Family Research Council’s Values Voters Summit 2009 featured a picture of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, advertising that he was a potential speaker. But Pam Spaulding points out that following Sanford’s announcement of an affair, his picture was quickly removed from the website.

I wonder if the pictures of Sen. Craig or Sen. Vitter or Sen. Ensign will be available to replace the one of Gov. Sanford?

    Yep – family values, indeed.

  3. Chyron HR says:

They left Pawlenty up, of course, because killing people through negligence is a fine family value.

  4. henryde says:

Did Mrs. Fred Thompson have her implants removed yet?

  5. Sandoz76 says:

What is the point? What is the point of acting like you are better than everyone else? I don’t get it. It seems to be the fastest way to get scrutinized and called out as being a hypocrite.

I never understood why people went out of their way to do this.

  6. ralph the wonder locust says:

Ben Stein’s gotta love the promotion to the second line from the bottom.

  7. WAYNEBRO says:

I got a better idea. Why don’t they just take down the site?

We elect leaders to manage the affairs of state.

Not the affairs in our bedrooms.

I’m tired of this “family values” nonsense coming from elected leaders.

One family’s values aren’t necessarily another family’s values and clearly the republicans expressed “family values” have little to do with reality.

We elect them to keep the lights on and the trains running on time. Not to blather on about their family values. Especially when most of them never adhere to them anyway.

    Enough with the family values.

Focus on keeping the lights on, and the trains running on time like you’re being paid to do.

  8. YoungSloshee says:

Ask any one of these speakers what the definition of “Value” is, and I strongly doubt they’ll say anything that values non-European, non-Christian, pro-gun control or pro-women’s-rights issues.

Ooh, Carrie Prejean is up there! I’m surprised her photo doesn’t show off her non-God-given qualities.

  9. joe cantwell says:

  10. amish_edison says:

What about Giuliani, McCain, Vitter, Craig, Foley, Gingrich, Ensign, etc…? Just too many pictures to try to fit them all on one family-values website, I guess.

  11. progressive homeschooler says:

Gary Sinise? Holy crap I had no idea.

  12. The Dogfather says:

henryde Says: Did Mrs. Fred Thompson have her implants removed yet?

I understand that Mrs. Fred Thompson and Carrie Prejean will be having a little . . . ummmmm. . . “contest” at this Valuable Voltage Summit…

  13. EliHarold says:

I didn’t realize Lt.Dan was in cahoots with the GOP how sad.. Well.. At least he’s got Stephen Baldwin and Fred Thompson to keep him company in the “washed up actors with no talent or future” portion.

  14. Badmoodman says:

Family Research Council removes Sanford’s picture from Values Voters Summit website.

    – - The blue asterisks by some photos are to designate that these people are
    confident heterosexuals.

  15. KayInMaine says:

I bet half those people in the picture have cried in Argentina if you know what I mean! And I bet some of them have done with the same sex too! Oh my. *putting chastity belt on in case a republican comes near me of either sex*

  16. RUCeriousMaggot! says:

This space available for reichwing nutbag…! Cheap!

  17. misscoleopteramolly says:

I can think of a whole lot of snarky things I could say about the Family Research Council, but I won’t blast them for merely keeping their website up to date.

After all, if they HADN’T removed Sanford from their Summit 2009 speaker lineup, they would have been getting a lot of flak for that, too.

Now whether the FRC kicked Sanford to the curb because he no longer represented their “family values” BS, or whether he voluntarily withdrew from consideration as a speaker remains to be seen.

  18. Lungman424 says:

Went from the party of No, to the party of Oh No

  19. J. Fred Smug says:

It’s FANTASTIC that they have Sister Carrie Prejean, Martyr Extraordinaire, on their list.

But why not Sarah Palin? Oh, yeah: kind of impossible to preach abstinence when you were pregnant on your own wedding day, as Sarah Palin was.

  20. RUCeriousMaggot! says:

What would Ozzie and Harriet say?

  21. ranus69 says:

Palin isn’t on that list one of the biggest hypocrite of them all??

  22. dasm says:

    Prejean & values?? She’s a liar & a reconstructed phoney.

  23. Zimzone says:

The Family Values Soft Porn Lineup looks like the predatory perverts in a police lineup.

Was Sanford having opposite sex on the beach or Darly style?

    Carrie?

    Where’s Sarah? Bristol? Megan?

How about a pinup of Virginia Fox? That will keep their tool in the box.

  24. realitarian says:

thats because the Genitals Outside Pants (GOP) is going to make him their mascot. and that’s a full-time job.

  25. RUCeriousMaggot! says:

So, if you’re a Publican governor, how many people do you have to execute to get your picture on the site?

  26. Just2Stressed says:

Carrie Prejean with the boob job is there?

  27. J. Fred Smug says:

Unfortunately, we haven’t heard the last from Sister Carrie Prejean. The Talivangelicals will be trotting her out as their Persecuted Victim #1 for years to come.

Nevermind the fake t*t job – they will conveniently sidestep the truth on that one, as they always do.

  28. J. Fred Smug says:

I had to laugh when I saw the picture of Phyllis Schlafly, now proudly in the “center” position.

Could someone please remind me: who was it that called Sarah Palin “Phyllis Schlafly With T*ts”?

  29. paleolib says:

That is one half-baked box of crackers. They need more time in the oven if you know what I mean.

  30. Crazy8 says:

Ben Stein – one of the creepier Flat Earthers.

  31. calavzma says:

    no!

they got gary sinise and ben stein?

    NOOOO!!!!

  32. eyeswideopen1 says:

    Carrie Prejean? Wtf???

  33. lokidog says:

I contacted the Family Research Council and advised them they need to keep the person in charge of these photos on call 24/7. No telling who they’ll have to pull by tomorrow.

They didn’t think it was funny.

Humorless and self righteous! No wonder rightwingers are so GD boring.

  34. Vasagi says:

Bonus for Ben Stein!! You’re on row 2 now!!
Just gotta lose one more to get Fred Thompson up there with ya, pal. I’m rootin for ya, Fred!!

  35. LibertyLover says:

Pretty soon, there won’t be any Family Values Republicans left.

  36. YoungSloshee says:

My friend has a dollar bill signed by Ben Stein. Every time he talks about it, I’m reminded of that man, who willfully denies his intelligence in favor of political opinion.

But WAYNEBRO was absolutely right in post #7. Elected leaders shouldn’t use morality and religion to justify poking around in private affairs. Don’t like gay marriage? Then don’t gay marry! Don’t like a woman’s right to choose? Then don’t have an abortion! Quit spewing scripture, in discriminatory form, in the name of family values.

There’s a separation between church and state for a reason. Criminy.

  37. SP Biloxi says:

“Family Research Council removes Sanford’s picture from Values Voters Summit website.”

lol Hilarious. And the organization happens to take down Sanford’s pic when he confessed his sins.

  38. stefan says:

What a rogues’ gallery of haters and hypocrites! And I’m sure every one of them thinks they’re a good “Christian”.

  39. ranus69 says:

Where is Mike Steele and McCain?

  40. linkwray says:

Sanford has now aplogized for “putting his staff in a difficult position” and now I’m crying for that poor women in Argentina. These last five days days must have put her into some difficult positions and I can only pray she’s recovering.Maybe the Family Research Council can help them both with positioning so that eventually all those affected will find some comfortable place, spiritually speaking.

  41. Wiz says:

Republicans are pretty much down to Sarah or Mitt for 2012. Not counting Newt, which they can’t possibly be stupid enough to nominate. Actually I would think they would not be stupid enought to nominate Sarah, or Mitt for that matter. Never mind.

  42. Another Joe says:

Now this is a big story that could continue the ongoing setbacks of repugs/neocons, but please don’t let it become a distraction – here’s and important piece by Robert Reich that shouldn’t get lost in the frenzy:

Why the Critics of a Public Option for Health Care Are Wrong

Without a public option, the other parties that comprise America’s non-system of health care — private insurers, doctors, hospitals, drug companies, and medical suppliers — have little or no incentive to supply high-quality care at a lower cost than they do now.

Which is precisely why the public option has become such a lightening rod. The American Medical Association is dead-set against it, Big Pharma rejects it out of hand, and the biggest insurance companies won’t consider it. No other issue in the current health-care debate is as fiercely opposed by the medical establishment and their lobbies now swarming over Capitol Hill. Of course, they don’t want it. A public option would squeeze their profits and force them to undertake major reforms. That’s the whole point.

  43. WillWrite4Food says:

Oh God, Carrie Prejean, Rick Perry and Don Wildman? The vacuum of stupid could cause a black hole!

  44. Jane E. Schneider says:

Family Research Council? Are they doing enough ‘family research’ on all of the people pictured?

  45. cargod says:

Did I miss the printable pdf link to this rogues gallery
of nitwits , my dart board needs a new face , it might
also make a good paintball target if enlarged

    “Phyllis Schlafly with t*ts”
    I lulz it

  46. linkwray says:

#43 has it absolutely right. I’d like to sit here and write cheap shots at those who so desperately deserve them but the MSM will drop the important issues for the cheap and tawdry every time. I think the quote from John Stuart Mill sums it accurately enough “While not all conservative people are stupid, most stupid people are conservative.” This covers most the leadership of the Repugs today.

  47. Another Joe says:

LinkWray – my best guess is you have to be seriously compromised to even become a repug leader – that is probably the only way they can get most people to swallow the kool-aide and tow the line.

Republican “family values?” Oh, do they mean the eight years of torture, treason and tyranny under the Bush regime: Bush crime family values?

  51. Scottsdalian says:

FRC: Who? Sanford?? Never heard of him.

  52. NoMoreBush says:

Oh, God — Phyllis Schlafly bugs me out. And I always like Gary Sinise — what is wrong with him?

    You betcha!!!!! hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way Iran diplomats declined 4th of July picnic invite but thats not news is it.

    No.

  57. mk3872 says:

Carrie Prejan? I sure hope Gary Sinese is proud to be associated with that line-up of A-listers …

  58. curious says:

I wonder just how many of those in the pictures have done the same thing.

And Phyllis Schalfly. I have to laugh. All the things she said about family and women in the military, being gay, ERA etc. Her son is gay. She must have nearly dropped dead. As for Gary Sines, he is genuine and I really like him. He is a former marine and very conservative. He spends a great deal of time with his band entertaining in Iraq. As for the rest they are what they are.

I just wish they could shut up about representing family values and integrity. They value little and they have shown no integrity since Reagan got in. He stunk as a president and they have all stunk since.

  59. Levi the Dungbeetle says:

You gotta love it. The fascist Republican propaganda machine is sanatizing its web sites and FOX labeled Sanford as a Democrat.

Republicans are ashamed of their own.

  60. har5125 says:

My money’s on Rep. Mike Pence next to admit to an affair.

  61. Lora says:

Well, there is always Bobby Jindal.

what’s carrie prejean going to speak about, where to get the biggest boobs for your buck?

  63. Larry Sinclair says:

Barry doesnt care much about values, ask me how I know :)

  64. pastcaring says:

Family Research Council didn’t do their research on Sandford did they?

And to think the gays are destroying marriage…

  65. pastcaring says:

    Bozo The Neoclown Says:

what’s carrie prejean going to speak about, where to get the biggest boobs for your buck?

    No, more like this

  66. realpatriot says:

The republicans will probably hold a dinner for the guy, and give him a standing ovation as he enters…

  67. Lora says:

But Guvnaa Sanford is for family values–the values of two families– and is an expert on foreign affairs, to boot!

  68. wizard2000 says:

Weeellll, at least we now know why the Bush administration and Cheney’s office destroyed so many millions of e-mails…all those steamy, sexual Republican messages between top officials in the Bush administration.

I can just see them now….

No, no, no, the Republicans didn’t destroy all those e-mails because torture was discussed as well as how they could somehow paint legal lipstick on that torture pig, nor was there any discussion about stealing elections nor lying about going to war in Iraq nor authorizing illegal warrantless wiretaps nor using the NSA to spy on political enemies nor outing a covert CIA agent nor politicizing Hurricane Katrina (where the Bush administration sent federal disaster relief into Mississippi and Alabama because these two states had Republican governors, while at the same time the Bush administration deliberately withheld emergency federal aid from Louisiana and New Orleans, where elected Democrats were in charge)…it was all that sex, sex, sex in those destroyed White House messages…that was the sole thrust of many of those “family values” Bush administration communications. Yep. Yep.

  69. dbadass says:

Who is that Eduardo dude and what is his deal?

  70. dbadass says:

Why do I have the feeling that Larry Sinclair is a jerkoff?

  71. wmhogg says:

Even though he is a looney-toon, why is Hucklebee not in this group? He is a former pastor.

What in the world have the Republican Senators and Governors, not to mention Carrie Prejean, done to deserve to be on this list of “values” speakers?

Just think, Sanford had tentatively agreed to speak at the “values voters” conference at the same time that he knew that he was having his affair with Maria.

So, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, who is connected with James Dobson and Blackwater, could not find any better “values” speakers than this among the Republicans?

    Ben Stein? Puhleeezz… Beuler? Beuler?

  72. ElBruce says:

I keep going over the text of Sanford’s apology speech, and he keeps referring to his lover as “this person” or “that person.” Nowhere am I seeing any confirmation that he was seeing a female. He seems to be doing backflips to avoid gender pronouns.

Not that it’s all that significant, but I’ve noticed a couple of people say “at least it was with a woman!” I’m kinda starting to doubt that.

  73. thomas mc says:

If they removed all the hypocrites, that page would be blank.

  74. drunkfoulmouthfiltybeast says:

These pictures belong on the Post Office’s wall, I’m sure there are laws agains’t impersonating a human being. I KNOW there’s one in that foriegn country called Oklahoma.
