Bachmann has no plans to appear on controversial radio show.

Radio host Alex Jones has stirred up considerable controversy over the years, talking about FEMA concentration camps, promoting 9/11 conspiracies, and comparing President Obama to Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin. Yesterday, several media outlets reported that Jones said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) would soon be appearing on his show. “She’s on next week,” he said. Watch it:

The City Pages in Minneapolis/St. Paul contacted Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok, who said that the rumors weren’t true, and she has no plans to go on the show. “I can tell you unequivocally that she is not scheduled, nor ever was,” he said in an e-mail response.

Why? She’d be perfect for it.

  2. Zimzone says:

Bach to the Future III has been canceled, due to oral overruns and lack of intelligence.

Please tune in when Bachshit is let out of the Sanitarium.

    Thank You.

For those unfamiliar with Alex–he believes the ruling elite of the world worship Moloch and can live forever. He believes there are live AIDS viruses in the corn. He thinks anyone who favors gun control is a Nazi. He has called environmentalists “degenerate criminals.”

Like many conspiracy theorists, Jones believes he can predict the future. He falsely claims to have predicted 9/11, and has been wrongly predicting more domestic terror attacks ever since.

There is a hilarious website, called “Leaving Alex Jonestown,” devoted to debunking Alex’s wild and crazy claims:

’cause admitting she ‘backed out’ would not look good at all…

Proof that anyone can host a radio show.

  7. chiroptera toasterhead says:

Michele Bachmann? On that show? I seriously hope not, for the sake of the universe.

It would be extremely dangerous to put that much lunacy together in one place – like a large hadron collider of crazy. I fear it would rip a black hole in the fabric of reality – far bigger than the ones already inside the heads of Rep Bachmann and Alex Jones…

  10. Doodlebug Shayne says:

Why doesn’t she want to go, Jones isn’t crazy enough?

  11. Hoodathunktick says:

I don’t think Shelly would go on the show. Spending time with a soul mate would probably lead to hot, extra-marital monkey sex, something for which the Republicans seem to have a weakness.

  12. Zimzone says:

We all know wingnuts create their own reality, hence, they live in an alternative reality.

A reality where one can pick & choose which scripture to follow.

A reality where one can be ‘for’ corporations & against the sick.

A reality where one’s OWN sins are forgiven, but THEY will decide who’s sinning & who’s forgiven.

A reality where one can support an illegal invasion that kills innocent women & children to save the ‘honor’ of the President’s Daddy.

A reality where massive spending that’s bankrupting the Nation is OK as long as the Fear Factor is maintained.

A reality where one’s morals are judged by what others do, but not what that person has done.

Bachmann Jonestown Overdrive, coming to a radio near you.

  13. MCMetal says:

Bachmann has no plans to appear on controversial radio show.

She also has no plans to appear to be anything other than batshit crazy……..

  14. EnnuiDivine says:

    Jones is certifiable.

For any fans of Richard Linkater, he basically played himself in Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly: A man ranting to no one about oppression.

  15. paleolib says:

Someone too crazy even for Michelle Bachmann has been located. . . and he has a radio show. . . wow. . . that’s all I can say. . . wow.

  16. texasrick says:

The liberals may a few “off the wall characters” like Roland Burris and Blogo from Illinois plus a few who have “stayed” like Spitzer, Edwards, and Clinton; but have you ever seen a stranger cast of WACKO’S that the GOP has?

Rush Limpballs, and InSannity. These are two of weakest sissy boys I have ever seen. (By this I mean lack of guts and integrity).

How about Coulter, Beck, Billo, and Bachmann…They make a career being stupid and the right-wing- nuts just think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Then you have Mr. Conservative Values: Vitter, Sanford, Ensign, Newt and Giuliani. Which one gets your vote for HUSBAND OF THE YEAR?

Bringing up the rear, literally, you have the actual politicians in the party on NO.

Boehner and Cantor. Both of these guys have never had an original idea between them. All they ever do is regurgitate the same tired saga of smaller Government and less taxes.

To borrow one of their tricks…this is code for LESS REGULATION of everything so the rich can get richer and less taxes for the rich (trickle-down economics…you know what liquid is being trickled down don’t you)?

  17. Zooey says:

“I can tell you unequivocally that she is not scheduled, nor ever was…”

    She’ll be calling in.

Indeed. I was pissed on by ‘trickle down’ economics myself.

  19. hormiga brava chavez says:

My mercy, Bachmann on this guy’s show would be like lunacy squared!

  20. hormiga brava chavez says:

And they call liberals moonbats!? WTF?!

  21. The Moderate Squad says:

texasrick said: “…the right-wing- nuts just think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.”

Somebody addressed this issue on the crooks and liars blog the other night with a great quote from John Stuart Mills (I’m paraphrasing) “While it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservatives.”

  22. Herbert says:

Progressives used to like Alex Jones when Bush was President. He used to be a favorite here at Think Progress. Why the change in attitude towards Alex?
Alex helped the Progressives against Bush, why the turn on an ally?

    Proof?

  24. PFWoody488 says:

I think that it would be a great show.
They would start out slow, testing the waters of each others personal delusions. Then as they realized that they are kindred spirits, their lunacy would begin to feed of off each other forming an upwardly spiraling feedback loop.
Finally finding herself in an accepting environment, Bachman would feel free to totally let out her inner whackjob. She would skitter around the room like a spider monkey on crack while peeing herself uncontrollably, while screeching Hoot Smauley over and over.
Jones would be sitting in the corner in a fetal position babbling that she was a government agent sent to give him the Pee Aids.

I’d pay good money to see that show.

  25. Herbert says:

    Zooey,
There used to be links here by posters to prison planet and always talking about 9/11 was an inside job. In fact there was such one comment last week.
I think this shows how Progressives will use anyone, then turn on them when they are not needed.

  26. Doodlebug Shayne says:

    Keep trying.

Obviously still lax because “Herbert” is obviously a long-standing troll, back with a new handle after being banned. Otherwise, why all the “TP used to . . . “?

  41. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Herbert Says: Denile is a river in Egypt.

If you are going to use tired, worn out sayings you should at least get them correct. The saying is “Denial is NOT just a river in Egypt”.

  42. vinylspear says:

Why radio is the prefered medium for moon bats is beyond me but, they sure manage to dominate an archaic communication form. Those that listen to political radio are equally trapped in a time warp.
I’m not complaining, they can have it particularly AM.

  43. vinylspear says:

Bachmann on radio is like a tree falling in the woods.

  44. Zooey says:

    Herbert…?

He must be looking up the proof…right? :-D

  45. John Barringer says:

    THIS JUST IN!

Michele Bachmann will not be the keynote speaker at memorial service for the late Michael Jackson, nor will she be replacing Jackson for his scheduled concert tour of Europe as had not been previously reported.

Sweet Jesus, you guys! Must be a REALLY slow day!

  46. Reggie says:

Herbert Says: Denile is a river in Egypt.

Think Progress allows just about any nutcase to post here without censorship, so it stands to reason that there may be an occasional comment from a truther.
In order for you to validate your accusation, you are going to have to post proof that not only were the more than just an occasional truther posting here, you are going to have to post proof positive that there was support by regular TP bloggers for the truther’s comments.

  47. johnny dol1ar says:

Bat $hit crazy Bachmann is paranoid that someone else as crazy as herself knows in advance her plans for next week, down to date and times.

  50. EnnuiDivine says:

Jones is quite possibly farther to the right of Pat Buchanan…which makes for some temporary alliances with progressives (anti-war, anti-warrantless wiretaps). Doesn’t make him any less of a raving derelict.

You can ally with people without subscribing to their entire worldview.

Kinda like how labour leaders, envrionmentalists, and…Pat Buchanan…were all very vocal in their opposition to the WTO Conference in Seattle in ‘99.

  51. gummble-bee-itch says:

OT: anyone else have errors on TP lately when they click “Recommend”? I’ve been regularly getting a message that I’ve already recommended a comment although I hadn’t. 52. Hoodathunktick says:

Herbert? 9/11 was an inside job. Clinton hired Carlos the Jackal to train kangaroos and wombats to plant exploding coconuts by means of express delivery.

They also had all the PDB’s submitted to GW written in English but they distracted his goat interpreter with a virginal lamb so no one knew what they said.

  53. johnny dol1ar says:

RICE: I believe the title was, “Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.”

  62. christopher wiwi says:

Do you really want to compare Kucinich to Crazy Shelly? I offer three instances.

    1. Hiding behind bushes, literally, to spy on a gay pride event.

    2. Running out of a public bathroom, literally, screaming “kidnappers” when a political opponent happened to enter said bathroom.

    3. The “Freedom of Lighting” BS where Crazy Shelly wasted valuable Congressional time trying to pass a measure to protect the “right” to buy whatever wasteful lighting one wants.

you know, kinda like being an accomplice to a crime…? and i do beg your pardon, but all of that sounds HIGHLY conspiratorial to me. particularly in light of the recent nytimes article regarding evidence of terror funding by the saudi royal family. so, knowing this country’s history with the saudi princes, and the CIA’s tenuous connections with al qaeda (read brzezinski’s ‘the grand chessboard’) i’d say that there’s a pretty clear case there for anyone with half a brain. then again, most of you are too intellectually-insulated to imagine the moral dispositions and resources of anyone outside of your caste/civilian career paths.

i think AJ’s an entertainer… i think he is an entirely different agenda than the one that’s perceived by the so-called “patriot” sect… but he does have an awful lot to say that IS true. unfortunately, the over-the-top paranoia bravado prevent any of the morsels from being digested by good folk like yourselves.
