1.	jeffro Says:
Dishonesty is your MO Punk! Address the fact that you use debunked talking points! Not one drop of oil spilled? Do you care to retract your lies? You think you can divert the topic from the fact that you LIED? No credibility,Punk. If any one listens to any thing you say, they are a MORON!Oil and Coal are DONE! You are just too stupid to see it. You are part of the problem. You get your world view from a drug addict on the radio, and i'm supposed to take you seriously? Get out of my Face! Punk.

Sorry you haven’t cured the anger yet. The department of interior commissioned a study on the performance of offshore platforms in the gulf after the storm. Read the facts jack! If you had read my blogs instead blowing your anger I stressed the danger of transporting oil! I forgot to mention the dangers in storing oil as well which is another reason you can call me every name in the book. Katrina destroyed the very infrastructure of New Orleans including oil storage utilities and pipelines. Oil spills were caused by destruction of these facilities. Unfortunately just as other major infrastructures, these were also not prepared to handle this destructive storm.

Beck: Why did we buy Alaska in the 1950s? We bought Alaska for the resources.

Tim.ned, Sorry you dishonest punk. You have NO credibility when you repeat debunked rightwing talking points. http://www.geotimes.org/feb06/feature_oilspill.html http://billnelson.senate.gov/news/details.cfm?id=304324 The lakes I fish are becoming acidic. Who should pay for the cleanup? Punk.

Yes, I’m so dishonest. Spend a few bucks go to New Orleans and watch the Imax presentation “Hurricane on the Bayou”. I’m sure this wasn’t written by some right wing environmentalist. Come out of that and try to blame that evil oil destroyed the wetlands of Louisiana. You should be able to pay the cleanup for your lake the day you can cut your grass and put it in your gas tank. Dream on. I stand by my statements and you are extremely brave with name calling on blogs.

1.	Purple State Says:
________________________________________
Nuclear power is fine. It's the waste that would be a bother. Then there's that whole "meltdown" concern.
I have no qualms about it, but I just want to see it produced efficiently. Hell, if we could understand that increasing efficiency in fossil fuels would help immensely and cap pollutants, I wouldn't complain all that much in the first place.

You bring up excellent points. First we do have a waste problem in nuclear power. Currently, most facilities are storing depleted material onsite which they are not capable of doing. This is not the power company’s fault but is a problem that both Dem’s and Rep’s won’t address. Out west we have developed waste storage in formations that haven’t changed in millions of years. We have the scientific brain power in this country to develop, transport safely, and store nuclear waste. New technologies have also been developed over the years where nuclear material can be depleted up to 90 %. Politicians on both sides for some reason won’t address this issue. And the storage at current nuclear facilities is a disaster that is waiting and will happen. Just like Katrina, they don’t fix broken policies until disaster.

The fossil fuel question is still there. But the auto industry the primary pollutant (just because of sheer numbers) has cleaned up their act tremendously over the past 20 years. Electric cars are real as is the possibility for Hydrogen which is currently in test in California.

If "progressive" minded people really cared about the environment they wouldn't stand in the way of nuclear power. Developing Nuclear and our own oil reserves would guarantee energy independence, cheap energy, the ability to continue on the path to a cleaner environment, and produce an enormous wealth in new and continuing jobs.

A very sound opinion, one which I agree 100 percent. If "progressive" minded people really cared about the environment they wouldn't stand in the way of nuclear power. Instead of "progressives" crying about how we interfere with countries and go to war over oil, we could produce our own and be self sufficient. But what would they have to complain about then?

My first 10 years in business was spent in oil and mineral exploration. Those of us in the 70’s knew the enormous wealth of oil within own country. Having a history in the business, I know the dangers of transporting oil and the safety in developing our own reserves. No nation on earth has the safety standards for exploring and extracting oil as the U.S. Transporting oil by tanker either on land or sea is a disaster waiting to happen and does so all the time. During Katrina, not one drop of oil was spilled by the over 4000 platforms in the Caribbean which were directly located in the path of the storm. To walk on one of these rigs and to see the capabilities is quite an experience. For the past 10 years I have invested in companies producing ethanol and wind energies. I know today the ethanol is an environmental disaster as well as an economical one. Wind is extremely expensive. Developing Nuclear and our own oil reserves would guarantee energy independence, cheap energy, the ability to continue on the path to a cleaner environment, and produce an enormous wealth in new and continuing jobs. To believe that our scientific institutions will produce a new “Magic and Renewable fuel” is a dream, not reality.

Pernell, right-wing Republicans do not know who Sun Myung Moon is. They also have never heard of Richard Mellon Scaife. You will never get a right-winger to acknowledge the existance of either of these two evil fascist wingnuts.

What a joke. Beck didn't misspeak. He made up an alternate reality for a specific reason. It's called propaganda, and it is designed to control dumbasses like you.

geez you right wingers are grossly uninformed.

Soros may be the biggest political fat cat of all time.

No, not close, the biggest fat cat of all time remains Sun Myung Moon who has outspent anyone funding and molding right wing thought in America. No ONE has outspent him, NO ONE. 3 Billion for the Washington Times alone. Moon brags, BRAGS about using the paper to "influence" our nation.

Newsbuster says this. Isn't that Brent Bozzel's propaganda outlet? Well no wonder he would say that about Soros since he was a policy board member of Moon's front to gather the Christian right for political power, the American Freedom Coalition!

http://www.mediachannel.org/originals/moontranscript.shtml

The media consistently ignore the fact that this so-called "philanthropist" has had several brushes with the law

You right wingers are uninformed chumps.

Moon is a convicted tax cheat. His "church" recently paid 500 grand to keep from being prosecuted in the world largest shark poaching ring.

http://www.freedomofmind.com/resourcecenter/groups/m/moonies/test/

The money he has used to mold your simple minds comes from overseas, billions FROM JAPAN!. In Japan, Moon's "church" has been found guilty of swindling hundreds of millions, likely billions of dollars by swindling widows. Yes, the main funder of the right in American the last 30 years, a man who unlike Soros is NOT a citizen and has stated agenda to replace "American-style democracy," made the money swindling widows!!

You people are so uninformed YOU are a national security problem for this country.
