Why are Palin, Perry and Jindal refusing to talk to Biden about the stimulus?
In a new article, Time’s Michael Scherer describes how Vice President Biden has been aggressively reaching out to mayors on the their use of stimulus money. “My rear end is on the line just like yours,” said Biden on a recent conference call with five mayors and county executives. “I’m the guy in charge of this deal. So if this doesn’t work, it’s me.” In a follow-up blog post, Scherer reveals that Biden has talked to “dozens of mayors and 47 of the 50 state governors about the Recovery Act”:
One interesting fact that didn’t make it into the story. Since March, Biden has talked, usually in conference calls, to dozens of mayors and 47 of the 50 state governors about the Recovery Act. The three governors who have not yet been on the line, though they have been invited: Alaska’s Sarah Palin, Texas’ Rick Perry and Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal. You can draw your own conclusions.

They are pretending to take a “tuff” stand because the media will catapult the propaganda that it was based on “going with their gut” and “showing resolve” – 2 character defects of dur chimpfurher that the mainstream media constantly trumpeted as “greatness”.

July 2nd, 2009 at 6:02 pmOne cannot understand why a drowning man (or woman) would only accept a life line from certain rescuers. Pride? Posturing? Stupidity?
Problem here is that there are citizens in each of their states – who may have helped elected these three stooges – who would suffer from the insolence of their governor in refusing such help.
Ah, to be hoist with one’s own petard. Let us hope the citizens have good memories come the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday of each November.

They are just doin’ what they know the system expects them to do. The real problem is the system that demands they do it.
But continue to post about the personalities in front of the cameras, huff and puff with indignation, and pretend that what we say about the endless parade of character actors really matters.

Their constituents have every right to know that their Governors are failing to represent the interests of their states because they are petulant children.

We never came out of the Great Depression. We never won WW2. We never prospered beyond human imagination in the 50’s. We never had the biggest space program. We never built the biggest highway system the planet has ever seen. We don’t have the biggest military in the World.
