Max Blumental reports on The Daily Beast that Sarah Palin may have quit her job today because she was trying to avert a major, yet-to-be-disclosed corruption scandal. The gist of the rumor is that an Alaska building company called Spenard Building Supplies (SBS) was awarded a contract by Palin to build a hockey arena in Wasilla, AK, and in return, SBS helped construct Palin’s home:
Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide open state.
SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin’s snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice’s Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.
Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few “buddies,” according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.
Just months before Palin left city hall to campaign for governor, she awarded a contract to SBS to help build the $13 million Wasilla Sports Complex. The most expensive building project in Wasilla history, the complex cost the city an addition $1.3 million in legal fees and threw it into severe long-term debt. For SBS, however, the bloated and bungled project was a cash cow.
Alaska bloggers have reported in recent weeks that “a long simmering embezzelment/IRS scandal is still being looked at by the feds.” In her press conference today, Palin asked the public to “trust me with this decision and know that it is no more politics as usual.” But she also bemoaned “political operatives” who have “descended on Alaska” to investigate “all sorts of frivolous ethics violations.” Palin said this “politics of personal destruction” was one of the key motivating factors behind her decision today.
Can we start out by ignoring anything posted by GOPsby?
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:51 pmMore family values from the party of family values. Sarah….have you ever heard the clanging of a cell door at Leavenworth? You might want to download that as a ringtone.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:55 pmI hope they investigate this.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:55 pmMitt Romney 2012
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:58 pmIf this is true, it would make Billy Kristol look really foolish.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:58 pmWho was it that said: “If ya can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen?”
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:59 pmYes, dbadass, I solemnly vow not to respond to any of that kid’s retarded ramblings. That being said, this issue of the Palin house has been in the pipe for some time, and I have yet to hear a plausible denial from her (then again, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a plausible sentence from her on anything). Even if it turns out that she did it, however, the neoCons will still somehow blame it on Obama, the media, Islam, gays and immigrants.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:01 pmDon’t you think he’s used to that by now?
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:03 pmWOW, the GOP is starting to look like a three ring circus now. John Ensign was Act 1, Gov. Sanford was Act 2(Though he did an encore with that bizzare AP interview) and now Palin is Act 3! If the GOP is planning to make another 94′ comeback I don’t see how this helps them especially if this story turns out to be true. It’ll be another scandal that tars their image.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:04 pmReally? Embezzlement? That’s all?
For a woman with an all-encompassing ego, one would think it’d take more than this to force Palin to resign.
Granted, she did look like she was on the verge of a psychotic break during the press conference, but still…methinks there’s something more nefarious to come.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:09 pmSince when does committing a felony make a Republican unfit for public office? Cheney and Bush committed numerous untold High Crimes and felonies without any repercussion for 8 years and nothing stopped them, or even slowed them down.
So Palin crippled a small town for personal gain. That’s small-time stuff for a Republican. The Bush Administration crippled the economy of entire nation solely for personal profit. What’s the big deal?
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:10 pmi would love to see govenor gidget explain to the feds how she managed to build a multi-million dollar home after she was elected into office when here and her old man were only pulling in 150k a year.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:16 pmOnly if he’s paying attention. And there’s no real indication that he is.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:18 pmi hope the cameras are rolling when the feds kick in the door and perp walk the palins out like they did to ted stevens.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:22 pmWhen the news about Palin broke, I wrote:
I still think we are likely to see the premiere of The Sarah Palin Show on Fox News this fall, but she may have to schedule tapings between FBI interviews and court dates.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:29 pmAmazing that this train wreck was gonna be “one heartbeat” away from a 70+ year old (senile) potential president and the mainstream media did not say boo.
Even though, if the speculation is correct, this is a scandal that goes back years.
What an incompetent mclame was to put her on the ticket, but no one in the media would tell you that then and they won’t say it now.
Get some popcorn, enjoy the show, but folks, the bigger problem is that this woman got through the campaign and the mainstream media essentially gave her a “free pass”. And in doing so, they once again diligently “catapult” more repug/neocon propaganda.
Unfortunately, until we raise hell over the dishonest media that enables folks like chimpy, cheney, mclame, palin, etc… we will just be fed a steady diet of them.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:30 pmGood riddance to bad rubbish. Maybe their is a GOD?? Nah.. but wishful thinking.
This person is to ignorant realize that she is not intellectually capable of running the PTA nevermind a small state.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:34 pmCriminality must be a prerequisite to participation in the fascist Republican Party.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:37 pmRalph, I stand corrected…
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:40 pmIf the media had any integrity they’d throw this in McCain’s face every time he bashes President Obama.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:42 pmLet’s see…who was posting about Palins house and the Hockey complex on nearly every Palin thread since her VP run…?
Oh, that would be Me…it is so nice to be right once in a while…
….LOL, I knew she was a thief, it was the Dodd interview when he said that ,”me and a couple of friends built it in three months…”
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:44 pmBuckie, you deserve credit.
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:47 pmThank you Ralph, (blush)
July 3rd, 2009 at 9:49 pmAnyone paying attention knew it was the home. How exactly did they afford the material and labor – a few friends put it together, really?
Only someone as willfully ignorant as the Palins could think they could hide a 2mm home. What incredible trash, I wonder if they still keep the couch on the front porch.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:00 pmDoes this mean that Liz Cheney is the “leading lady” of the GOP? Considering that Liz can, at least, speak a human language makes me think Bible Spice was a safer opponent.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:08 pmLiz is like her dad, pure concentrated evil. Be careful not to spill any on yourself.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:12 pmDamn, I knew it! I’ve been talking about this one for months, but I wonder why it’s taken so long for the story to pull together?
But fear not, Sawah, your media BFFs will give you all the cover you need to craft your illegal activities as just another political witch hunt. But guess what? You’re a witch!

But, the question remains, “does she weigh the same as a duck”?
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:16 pmBecause, logically, if she doesn’t weigh the same as a duck? She’s not a witch. Though we still may be able to build a bridge out of her. Wait. She effed up the bridge too.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:18 pmBetter seize her passport. She could be a flight risk.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:19 pmFolks, as much as I personally dislike the politics and beliefs of Ms Palin she is entitled to due process. I know if the tables were turned the right wing would be howling for castigation without any due process but that is not how things should work. If the rumors have enough fact behind them to take her to court and to convict, then I feel it should be thrown in the neocons faces. Until then all it is, unfortunately, is rumor. Let’s not stoop to the right wing cesspool.

But maybe that was the plan. McCain gets elected, Palin holds the veep office for a few months, the scandal(s) is revealed, she resigns in disgrace (Agnew redux), McCain is bullied into appointing Jeb Bush, McCain suffers a sudden fill-in-the-blank… heart attack, stroke, fall down the stairs, and voila! July 3rd, 2009 at 10:20 pmhttp://rogerhollander.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/massive-palin-scandal-brewing/
This would be a huge enough scandal for her to resign. Hands down. If she and Todd built their house for free using taxpayer’s money and with the materials from the Wasilla Sports Complex, then I’d say this would go along with her scared attitude today! She was very nervous and was lashing out left and right like a mad woman. She knows something is brewing and she’s trying to save face. Too late! Myself and others questioned her house when we compared the windows of her home to the ones at the sports complex! Very, very similar!

July 3rd, 2009 at 10:30 pmCal,
Your right, better sieze her passport. After all, she can see Russia from her house. I bet she could just drive over.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:35 pmI can recall these suspicions circulating the blogasphere
during her campaign and the msm ignoring them.
I was hoping that authorities would eventually connect the dots, and it appears they finally have.
Why is it that in this age of information elected officials still believe they can cover their tracks.
Then again, Huckleberry got away with crushing those hard drives, and of course, Karl’s disappearing E-mails.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:35 pmEven without a huge scandal she isn’t a viable presidential candidate – even if she is beloved in Wingnuttia, there’s still the 3/4 of the country to win over that finds her hypocritical, dishonest, inflammatory, vague, narcissistic and just plain stupid.
Even a habitual neoCon apologist like Charles Krauthammer sees it. He said of Palin:
Then again, this was a guy who GWB was pretty sharp…
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:37 pm5th Estate, I agree which is why I said: “I know if the tables were turned the right wing would be howling for castigation without any due process”. At the moment there are no facts out, just rumor.
On a personal note I hope she and Todd Palin are convicted and have to serve time cleaning out Madoff’s commode. But my hoping is not due process and I don’t want to become the lying scum like the right. When the facts are out and if they are convicted I will be loud about it.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:41 pmLiberalVoter Says:
And besides she had the opportunity to explain WHY she was resigning and she didn;t explain a DAMN thing. She didn’t even come up with a plausible LIE! She just arglebargled-on like a twitter randomizer.
Here are her ‘reasons’ as I understood them:
1) So she’s decided to take a stand against all the state time and money being wasted on her.
2) She has to prepare her elite “’snow machine” stormtroopers to invade the lower 48 without the taint of taking socialist money from a fascist Kenyan usurper, so she can become Ice-Hockey Empress of Real America.
3) Her stormtroopers will also being playing basketball WHILST THEY ARE INVADING, AND SHE WILL BE THE POINT GUARD, but she’ll sit on the bench for the 4th quarter, assured of victory.
4) Sarah’s 14-month old Down’s-syndrome baby is as trusted a political adviser as her 18-year old high school-dropout daughter, and the entire family would prefer to see her unemployed, standing outside the Governor’s mansion yelling about the childrens’ future
5) She’s quitting her Governorship because of Photoshop and the Internet and because the world needs more Down’s Syndrome babies who will become a new generation of political advisers.
6) She’s also giving-up because American soldiers don’t give up, nor do they choose to waste everyone’s time. It’s a lesson for us all, you betcha!

July 3rd, 2009 at 10:42 pmUm. “Due process” is a legal term that applies to answering charges. Bible Spice quit without revealing why, which is her right. But? If she tries to continue a political career she has some serious explaining to do.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:42 pmBravo 5th, and Zooey, and the critters.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:45 pmWow spencers mom, you should write horror stories.
You’re good at it.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:46 pmI might also add that Ms. Palin resigned before letting due process take it’s course. We can’t impose due process on those who won’t accept it.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:51 pmTop 5 Reasons Sarah Palin resigned:
1. She’s replacing Michael Jackson on his comback World Tour.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:52 pm2. She can do more good as the new host of America’s Got Talent.
3. Last week she contracted Swine Flu on an undisclosed trip to Argentina.
4. She signed a 5 year contract to be the new point guard for the LA Sparks.
5. One word….Diprivan.
Too late!
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:52 pmLiberalVoter @ #40 :
Yeah, (sigh), I know. The conjecture is indulgent.
I really can’t imagine WHAT has triggered her resignation, because Palin lives in another world entirely. Politicians survive ‘favor scandals’ all the time, and Palin is so shameless such a thing wouldn’t bother her at all.
But whatever it is, she doesn’t have the political clout, the friends, to help her maintain the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed, let alone to propel her to the lifestyle she’d LIKE to acquire. So IMHO ‘her decision’ has actually been made for her, and it;s not the mean Democrats who are forcing her out, it;s the RepubliCons who can;t afford to protect her because she’s a liability and an colossal idiot even by their standards.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:54 pmIn defense of John McCain, not that I the biggest McCain fan but, he was forced to take Sarah Palin as a running mate. The neo-con Republician cabal met in Minnapolis 3 days before the anouncement and decided they needed a theocatic whack-job as a running mate. There were so moany more qualified choices to make, but they didn’t the insane theocrat deographic
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:55 pmpete, please correct me if I am wrong (no snark, really) but if there was illegal activity her resigning will not (should not) end an investigation. Wouldn’t she still be tried if wrong doing occurred?
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:55 pmSmart move on Sister Palin but it might not be enough as she could still get charged. At lease she can now beg for money from the wingnuts that follow her. She might have a sign that says body for sale for the right price.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:55 pmThe entire house deal was sketchy from the start. It is a good thing to dig a bit deeper. These people have been screwing Alaska tax payers and it is time to find out exactly how much -and- how much time they will do.

Yeah, well, that argument just illustrates that McCain wasn’t ‘the maverick’ he was supposed to be (and claimed to be).
Every candidate has to compromise as the primary process runs its course, but it seems GOP candidates are chosen by a committee and stay subordinate to that committee of special interests, throughout.
McCain was and is a a man who believed in his own press and genuflected to whatever group would help him acquire and maintain office. If he had any integrity or leadership skills, (or brains) he’d have rejected Palin.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:09 pmMcCain was NEVER in control of his own campaign–not one iota.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:09 pmWell, 5th. I like to give credit where credit is due. My “pith” would suffer without them. Him? The troll/s? I really don’t know how many individual entities we are dealing with so I treat them/him like a colony of fungi.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:10 pmIf Sarah knows she’s facing federal indictments/embezzlement, she wants the ability to hide in her house away from the media. Right? No other reason to resign than that.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:11 pmspencers mom – folks shouldn’t kid themselves, if the criminal cabal behind dur chimpfurher and the mainstream media can fraudulently hoist an AWOL abusive alcoholic/cocaine addict into the White House, they can do the same for Jeb.
Your speculation is interesting, but they wouldn’t need to go to that extreme – without free, open, and verifiable elections, all they need to do is “catapult” the meme of the “highly energized base” that shows up and votes in impossible numbers because they DEMAND another bush in the WH.
I know it sounds crazy to some, but the last 8 years were even crazier.
If they can successfully steal 2 elections, get away with a false-flag “terrorist” operation like 9/11, and launch trillion dollar illegal wars, they can get away with ANYTHING!
And they will continue to get away with it until people are willing to take meaningful action and demand changes in the structure of mainstream media. That is really what enables the entire charade.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:13 pmRush Limbaugh said this week on his show that he had a ’secret meeting’. He said he wanted to share the contents of it, but woulnd’t until the time was right. What the hell is that all about? Is Sarah involved with this special meeting or was the subject of it?

July 3rd, 2009 at 11:20 pmConspiracy theory time (to those that have been around a while, you will see this as a repeat from several months ago – sorry). I really believe there was a faction of the Republican leadership that wanted McCain to lose and they hung Palin around his neck (Note, I also wanted McCain to lose – and lose big but for different reasons). They saw the horrendous load of shit they caused that the next president would have to deal with. By having a Democrat in office, they can keep pushing the message that all these problems are the Democrats fault. And that is the message they are pushing and pushing hard. I hope the Democrats wake up from their stupor and correct the record, loud and clear. Get the message out to the public: This is the Republicans mess the Democrats are trying to clean up while having to fight the Republicans at every step.

Uh, yes?
If I understand the question, she still has every right to due process in any legal action. However, the fact that she quit without explanation leaves her open to condemnation in the court of public opinion.
And, she’s not out of a job because of a lack of due process. She’s out because she quit.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:24 pmBut, the question is, would he have become such a Reichwing tool if he had won the nomination in 2000?
Of course he would have! But the criminal cabal behind dur chimpfurher already had their tool, the idiot-son of a political family that was the front for the economic interests that catapulted hitler in power (note that they used a false-flag operation, the Reichstag too).
And don’t kids yourself – it wasn’t rove, cheney, or any of the other morons that stood in front of the camera that were responsible for this coup.
Treasonous bastard thieves know that you have to be very quiet when you steal and do not get up in front of microphones and cameras. That is what their bit-players like chimpy, mclame, and palin are for.

July 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 pmPete @ 64 – great point. I disagreed with a lot of (most of) McCain’s policy, but to an extent I had at least a competitive respect for him, and I even had some sympathy for him when the Rovepublicans swift-boated him during the primaries. He blew that in ‘08 when he knuckled under so completely to those same trolls, and accepting someone as monolithically unqualified as Bible Spice for a running mate made me feel McCain thought I was a dumb as her.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:27 pmLiberalVoter Says:
Conspiracy theory time…
And it’s not a bad conspiracy theory at that. My own slant is that they thought they could finesse the economy until after the election so that they could start yelling, “as soon as the Dems won the economy crashed”. Everyone with an ounce of sense knew it was coming and the GOoPers would have been insane to, intentionally, tie the collapse to themselves.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:29 pmLiberalVoter – if what you say is true (and it certainly has merit on its face), this is why we need to constantly PUSH at Obama administration and the democratic leadership to DELIVER the change they successfully ran on in 2008.
It is not likely that the mess Obama inherented will be fully cleaned up by 2012 – far too much chimp poo.
We know the mainstream media will “catapult” the repug propaganda that anything less than unprecidented economic recovery and growth will be “failure”. We also know that the repugs publically announce they want Obama to fail and that they will do whatever they can to undermine him.
If Obama and Democrat leaders capitulate to the repugs now, they are setting themselves up up for failure. The noise machine is effective, propaganda works, and they don’t actually have to win elections to get their guy in the White House and in key congressional elections.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:30 pmpete @ 70. I believe we are aligned but crossing signals. I agree she did not quit because of due process. What I am saying is just because she quit does not mean she can no longer be brought up on charges. As to why she quit, as you say, she gave no cogent reason. I hope it is because she is about to be brought before 12 of her peers.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:33 pmAnother Joe. Agreed.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:35 pmpete @ 74. Agreed as well. Party above country for Republicans.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:36 pmHas anyone else noticed that we’ve gotten to have an actual discussion on this thread so far without troll-ference? Kinda spooky, considering the last thread…
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:38 pmHow would her resigning halt the investigation ?
I’ve got to admit I’m really confused also by the claims that she resigned to campaign for prez. If so, it doesn’t make sense that she is doing so before even officially forming an exploratory committee. It certainly doesn’t make sense she’s resigning on a Friday (when things tend not to get reported and analyzed strongly)and especially on the July 4th weekend and also news is still eclipsed by Michael Jackson.
She also said she’d be working to help her fellow republicans. This on the coattails of the release of emails between her and the McCain campaign. And the best thing she could do to help the repubs is to disappear into the wilderness and campaign among the bigfoot(s).
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:38 pmThe Moderate Squad Says:
Pete @ 64 – great point.
Thank you. I can’t help but think he may have “taken one for the team” and that diminishes him in my eyes. But the really scary part is that he represented the “moderate” wing of the GOP.
On my optimistic days I think that a new party will arise and the dregs of the GOP, whether they retain the name or not, will be pushed to the side. But, until I see some evidence to the contrary, the smart money goes on them continuing to self destruct.

Twelve of her peers? Only in Alaska.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:40 pmMapleStreet, she’s resigning now because of Michael Jackson/Mark Sanford, thinking it will be an effective smokescreen. I also like to think she’s doing it now because Jon Stewart is on vacation for a week starting today…

July 3rd, 2009 at 11:52 pmI don’t know about the Michael Jackson factor, even allowing for Bible Spice’s odd intellect. The way I see it, Michael Jackson already upstaged the death of Farrah Fawcett. It’s too late for Sarah to, though I must mix metaphors, finesse a queen under his trump.
(NOTE: If you have ever played bridge you would realize that my use of “queen” has nothing to do with sexuality.)
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:59 pmThanks LV, it’s been an interesting day. And as someone noted, rather enjoyable without the trolls (sshhh). Well, good night all, I think there’s alot more fun to be had with this story.
July 4th, 2009 at 12:05 amBy the time this plays out, her fundamental base will wish this was all about something minor like beaver pictures and lesbians gone wild.

July 4th, 2009 at 12:14 amHe was just in MILW proclaiming that the dems were gonna loose big next time around.
July 4th, 2009 at 12:16 amLord-a-mercy, you spend an evening on the farm with your family and find out you missed all manner of stange things. Is this true? The GOP’s Miss America? Quitting?
July 4th, 2009 at 12:37 amThe only thing Ms. Palin didn’t say was, “You don’t have Sarah Palin to kick around anymore.” I listened to her entire speech and it was an incoherent mess. The audible gasps when she needed to breathe indicated anxiety to the point of an attack. She’s seriously scared of something. I’ve heard everything from an embezzlement investigation by the FBI to something by the IRS. Whatever it is, she’s in panic mode. She may actually be stupid enough to think that something like that would go away if she resigned. It won’t.
As an aside, don’t you love it when people who engage in the politics of personal destruction complain about being the subject of personal destruction? She’s such a victim……NOT
July 4th, 2009 at 12:40 amSeems like she’s in a hurry to “effect change on the outside.”
Translation: Earning big bucks outside of office, where there’s no conflict of interest, or using state time for personal gain.
Also seems like the urgency lies in the reason she suddenly needs to see the money from a book contract she signed months ago; it would’ve still been there had she seen her term to fruition.
July 4th, 2009 at 12:46 amStop pinching yourself, OutstandingInAPlagueOfLocusts. Bible Spice stepped down without announcing she’s running for President.

K. I’ll try not to get so excited. I know the best thing that could happen for us would be to have this lame horsewoman of the apocalypse run for higher office.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:06 amSister Sarah is and was not smart – to keep going the way she was going she should have turned down the offer o run as VP.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:14 amI know what you mean, OutstandingInAPlagueOfLocusts.
There are a bunch of people more capable than she.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:17 amFolks, as much as I personally dislike the politics and beliefs of Ms Palin she is entitled to due process.
I agree, but I am keeping party favors nearby.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:22 amMoosilla slaughters our language almost as badly as the Chimpie Bush.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:27 amI wonder if Palin is an isolated case of a Republican’s mischief, or could this be the beginnings of another Cheney/Bush mess dumped into Obama’s lap. These charges go back at least 4 years, no investigations or indictments until 6 months into Obama’s term. This women was a Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans. It appears the Republicans had the illusion they were above the law.
Cheney/Bush can no longer run interference, how many more cases are going to fall out of the woodwork concerning prominent Republicans.
Cheney/Bush firing a number of federal attorneys begins to make sense. They wouldn’t do as they were told and back off.
The Republicans have been swingig wildly as of late, acting very nervous.
Rove guaranteed the Republicans they would be in power for least 20 years. It was party time for the RNC.
The look on Palin’s face may reflect the real magnitude of this story.
Just a speculation, flight

July 4th, 2009 at 5:14 amIf this is true, it would make Billy Kristol look really foolish.
At first, I was thinking maybe Sarah might be divorcing Todd and running off with Rush, but that seemed a bit too much. So maybe she has arranged a marriage between Bristol and Rush, which means that Limpballs will have a little boy to mess up in the future.
KayInMaine Says:
July 4th, 2009 at 5:18 amRush Limbaugh said this week on his show that he had a ’secret meeting’. He said he wanted to share the contents of it, but woulnd’t until the time was right. What the hell is that all about? Is Sarah involved with this special meeting or was the subject of it?
People who live in glass houses should never throw stones…
Sarah Palin is quite vicious, I read that her home was built for practically nothing, and it was built before the sports arena. She is more corrupt than any Governor I read about. They have been investigating this rumor for a long time. If you like to read more about her go on Skeleton’s in the Closet. You would get a better picture of this woman. You cross her, she would be your life long enemy.
July 4th, 2009 at 5:55 amOnly a Republican politician would consider ethics violations to be “Frivolous”.
But they really should be getting pretty good at defending themselves against ethics charges, seeing as how they’ve had soooo much practice recently…
July 4th, 2009 at 7:04 amOn this, our National Day of Independence, I offer my sincerest THANK YOU to my fellow citizens who voted for Obama.
Thank you all SO much, from the bottom of my heart.
July 4th, 2009 at 7:04 amkayinmaine – It isn’t her face she is trying to save, it’s her ass.
July 4th, 2009 at 7:57 amBah hahahahahaha! You guys are cracking me up. I’m feeling like a fool thinking Rush’s ’secret meeting’ was a political strategy one! I forgot who he was for a second. A PERVERT!
July 4th, 2009 at 8:18 am@ Instarx – you said: It isn’t her face she is trying to save, it’s her ass.
To which I respond: There’s a difference? She talks out of both with equal facility…
July 4th, 2009 at 8:23 amMaybe she just wants to go hiking along the Appalacian Trail….
July 4th, 2009 at 8:29 amMapleStreet: don’t look for complex political strategy in the Friday afternoon announcement. That’s giving Palin more credit than she deserves as a political strategist. She is not very experienced in big-time politics and has incompetent advisors. I’m sure they just remembered that bad news should always be announced on Friday afternoons and did it for that reason. It was just a formulaic playbook kind of thing. Of course that rule is just for small-time bad news, not something of the magnitude of Palin resigning that creates it’s own inertia, but that escaped them.
As for the resignation/indictment connection, resigning now saves her from being listed in the history books as having been forced to resign. Plus is she recovers from the indictment she will not have that millstone hanging around her neck because she resigned for “other reasons”. It is a hail Mary pass for someone in very serious trouble.
Personally I think she resigned because as governor she can’t accept advanced payments for her book. she is going to need the money because SarahPAC money can’t be used to defend her against a federal indictment.
Which brings up an interesting question. If she is now “out of politics” can she use any of that PAC money for ANY reason?
July 4th, 2009 at 8:30 amAnything as to why she has resigned is strictly rumor as of now.
From OCTOBER 2008
From the Plaid Lemur Blog
October 13, 2008
Just because the mainstream media did not tell you that mclame’s VP pick was extremely ethically challenged and tied to the corruption involving Ted Stevens, does not mean other didn’t know. This was a train-wreck fromt he git-go and talking about what we KNOW (even if MSM didn’t tell you) is not RUMOR.
July 4th, 2009 at 8:41 amI hope the government allows her brother-in-law, the Alaska State Trooper, to perform the arrest…that would be sweeeeet…
July 4th, 2009 at 8:49 amI’m thinking Alaskan Republican Politicians have been playing “fast and Loose” with taxpayer money, quid pro quo contractors, and political contributions.
Ted Stevens had his case dropped….not because he was innocent… but because “U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said he has decided to drop the case against Stevens rather than continue to defend the conviction in the face of persistent PROBLEMS stemming from the actions of prosecutors”.
The Feds are Not likely to make that mistake again.
July 4th, 2009 at 8:50 aminstarx asks if Sarah Palin can use the money in SarahPAC now that she is no longer Governor for any purpose. The answer is that she can still use the PAC money for the legal purposes for which it was created. You are correct that she cannot use PAC money to pay her personal legal expenses. She can still, however, use PAC money to promote causes consistent with those for which she solicited donations. Specific documents related to the PAC’s purpose are available under the Freedom of Information Act by requesting them from the IRS. You will only receive documents that are not excluded from FOIA under federal nondisclosure statutes.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:15 amSarah, just a friendly heads up: It’s pronounced prosecution, not persecution.
Might I suggest you pick up a copy of “Law for Dummies”? While you’re at it, a copy of “The Complete Idiots Guide to Taxes” couldn’t hurt either.
Happy Birthday, America!

July 4th, 2009 at 9:23 amIf there is a legal issue with her, the right wing will explode and acuse the Obama Justice department of political prosecution. I don’t believe Obama will want to go there, he has not let the distraction of coming out hard on social issues, and will not want this type of distraction either. After all if she is a front runner in the GOP for the next 3 years, she will rip apart the Republican party. Why would the Democrats try to get in the way of that?
July 4th, 2009 at 9:28 amWiz, I doubt it will be a federal issue. Sounds more like a problem at the state level.
Of course, there’s always the IRS…
PEACE
July 4th, 2009 at 9:32 amYou betcha! Hell yeah!
Consider the timing here:
1. June 30 was the date for the follow-up by federal prosecutors regarding the Veco brothers’ “gut-spilling” in exchange for a lighter sentence.
2. The McCain camp spills their guts regarding Palin’s problem with the truth vis-a-vis Todd Palin’s 7 year membership in the AlaskaIndependence Party (AIP) on or around June 30. (A bit of CYA for John McCain’s pathetic reputation?)
3. Palin cobbles together a last-minute presser just 3 days following the feds report on June 30 in which her embezzlement of taxpayer funds via quid pro quo in the building of her home in Wasilla ($552,000 home!).
The stars (and stripes) are certainly in alignment right now for the logical interpretation of Palin’s real problem: criminal embezzlement which is a federal crime and may involve imprisonment.
Next week we are certain to hear some of the following names: Blase Burkhart, Spenard Building Supply, Veco and maybe even some treasonous AIP info thrown into the stew pot…..we may even garner the inside secret for making her infamous “Moosebreath Stew” after all???
Happy Independence Day TPers! Happy Independence Day to all Alaskans who can sigh with relief that this fraud will soon be their ‘disgraced ex-governor’.
P.S. If you listen closely to her breathless, neurotic rambling speech, you will see Mark Sanford’s fingerprints all over it….”you have my heart”, governors taking international junkets, etc. Perhaps one of Mark’s ‘other women’ was none other than the scarlet lady herself? Besides, she chose the scarlet color for her last hoorah, didn’t she?
She stands at the “crime scene” wearing her favorite color: Red as in “caught red handed”.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:34 amAfter the technical errors which did not exonerate Stevens but allowed him off the hook occurred, the Feds are taking this one very seriously and moving very slowly.
It has to be FEDERAL because she’s had plenty of local suits and allegations of ethical violations in her tenure as mayor and governor which didn’t phase her one iota.
This story is HUGE – as in ICEBERG HUGE.
hAPPY sTARS ‘N sTRIPES, ALL!
July 4th, 2009 at 9:38 amJohn Kerry may have been onto something else (who’s wearing a long face now???)-ironically, after we learn about Sanford’s love of runing and hiking, Moosey lands on the cover of Runner Magazine in complete “Faux” regalia – pantyhose to slim tundra thighs and make-up applied with a palette knife and hair extensions lacquered to the moon. There was a huffpo thread prior to Sanford gong AWOL regarding the fact that “Sarah Palin knows my heart”. Yesterday she plagiarized his idea by saying “you have my heart” – what’s with all the “heart lingo”?
Guess it wouldn’t be the first time for her to cross the line just like the Love Gov; after all, she pulled “an Ensign” and cavorted with Todd’s partner….sounding a bit familiar?
July 4th, 2009 at 9:45 amBut she also bemoaned “political operatives” who have “descended on Alaska” to investigate “all sorts of frivolous ethics violations.” Palin said this “politics of personal destruction” was one of the key motivating factors behind her decision today.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:48 am+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This last paragraph is very telling. Palin has telegraphed her intentions here. She also hints at future ethics violations but plants the seed of defense by coming out and saying they are frivolous. This is a text book maneuver by the guilty party. She is already trying to control public opinion on anything she may be charged for.
Ya gotta love people like this witch who are in politics. Make laws for the common citizen, then break those very laws and get away with it. They preach the far right, religious adgenda and do exactly the opposite. Sarah ….. teach abstinence …. oops, pregnant under aged daughter.
They get caught with they’re lies and nothing is done. It’s high time the far right investigate their own kind and get rid of the liars, cheaters, and self-centered bigots in ALL parties.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:54 amIt’s funny how some on the right are saying and believing that she is resigning because she cares for the people of Alaska. If she truly cared for the people of Alaska she would stop her North American publicity tour and do the job she was elected to do.
Instead, the woman who talks about commitment and says she doesn’t want to be a lame duck governor who does a lot of traveling. Commitment!?! She is cutting and running from the people of Alaska. Ever since the presidential elections she has been traveling across the lower 48 to keep in the public eye.
This woman doesn’t care about the people of Alaska, she only cares about herself and believes any publicity, is good publicity. Go away Sarah, your 15 seconds of fame were over long ago. Start taking care of your family, they need you more than the State of Alaska or our country does. You have no chance of becoming the republican presidential nominee so how about just fading away into the sunset.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:55 amPlease oh great God of Fate, let me see her on prime time news in handcuffs!

It’s hard to keep from grinning and giggling ain’t it, AJ? It looks like the Reichwhiners are down to Newt as their front runner.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Keep an eye on Jeb Bush. The only other possible candidates out there are Newt, Romney and Tim Pawlenty and I don’t think those three can defeat Obama. Jeb Bush on the other hand is the “smarter” Bush. Three years is a long time, by then most on the right will forget about the horrendous Bush 43 years.
It almost makes me wonder if the financial collapse was all part of a bigger, darker plan by the Bushies? Poppa Bush wanted Jeb as president. The financial collapse is almost identical to the S&L scandal in the 80’s that had the Bush name all over it.
Leading republicans saw the storm coming in 2005, 2006 was the reality, when the democrats took back the majority in both houses. The republican party was going down fast. The original bailout, which started all the backlash from we the people started in September 2008. Two months before the next election, the election the republicans new they would lose big time.
So it isn’t crazy to think that the economy was allowed to crumble, making it nearly impossible for the coming democratic president to succeed. Which would pave the way for the republicans in 2012…and possibly Jeb Bush.
July 4th, 2009 at 10:18 amProud, none of these attacks are baseless. Are you one of the very ignorant reich wingers who thinks she has a chance in 2012?
Doesn’t it bother you that she may have had her house bought and paid for, for government favors? That doesn’t bother you?
If these “baseless” attacks become true will you be man enough to denounce your queen, Sarah Palin? Or will you be one of the ognorant people who think the Obama administration was behind this and the charges were frivolous.
Why is it when a republican commits fraud, adultery or other crimes. the reich wingers always defend and forgive them but if a democrat does anything close to what the republicans do, the person should resign immediately, be impeached, thrown in prison.
I guess the republican party new slogan should be “The GOP, we are above the laws of the land.”
July 4th, 2009 at 10:26 amDivided We Fall
Even more important – THEY DON’T ACTUALLY HAVE TO WIN AT THE POLLS!
They only need to create the illusion and lie of the “highly-energized base” and talk about a divided red-blue contest.
When the results of key states are stolen, the media won’t talk about the election process, they will hoot and holler about the “security moms” and “value voters” and other mythical groups that justify the stolen election.
Until we have free, fair, and open elections, A LONG LINE OF CRIMINALS LIKE THE BUSH FAMILY ARE SURE TO BE “CATAPULTED” INTO THE WHITE HOUSE AGAIN!
The demographic trends are totally against the repugs/neocons, so, more than ever, they will rely on hook and crook.

July 4th, 2009 at 10:27 amObama’s Failures???
A bit premature, I’d say…since Congress has YET to Vote on any of Obama’s Promised Initiatives.(Except energy policy, which the house Passed)
To be fair, Congress has had their hands full just fixing Bush’s Disasters.( Obama got the Stimulus Package passed).

July 4th, 2009 at 10:47 amAll over the bloggosphere, trolls are out trying to smack-down the palin travesty. But as always, the transparency of their lies and false attacks shine through.
July 4th, 2009 at 10:49 amI should also add that three years is a lot of time for the GOP to groom Jeb Bush’s public image and build up his character and reputation and hide any corruption in his part.
July 4th, 2009 at 10:52 amThere was an objective reason for referring to George W. Bush as a chimp. There isn’t one for referring to Barack Obama the same way.
July 4th, 2009 at 10:54 amPoor Proud, he is just filled with sadness at the meteoric demise of his fantasy girl. He is also filled with a lot of false hope thinking that the republicans will rise again by 2010 or 2012. Poor Proud, gave Bush eight years to fail and still doesn’t acknowledge Bush’s eight years of failure but he is spewing off the alleged failures of Obama after only six months in office.
If we don’t suffer a “terrorist” attacked within Obama’s first nine months as president I wonder if the reich wingers will consider that a success?
July 4th, 2009 at 10:58 amThe “reich wingers” you are referring to considered 9/11 a success.
IT WAS AN INSIDE JOB!
July 4th, 2009 at 11:00 amLet’s face it, Wayne S., Proud referred to Obama that way because his skin is dark, just like that picture-spread of all the US Presidents up to now, depicting Obama’s eyes only against a black blackground, sent by out a Republican Congressial aide.
Wayne A. Schneider Says:
July 4th, 2009 at 11:07 amThere was an objective reason for referring to George W. Bush as a chimp. There isn’t one for referring to Barack Obama the same way.
Palin angered a lot of people in Alaska, and when they saw that the ethics board continued to dismiss their complaints, they began reaching out to other agencies outside of the state. I found this out yesterday by visiting several progressive Alaskan blogs. It seems as if AKM, the immoral majority, the Alaska Progressive, and others have been working on forcing Palin to resign for quite some time. They were very successful in getting her appointee for AG thrown out, and in defeating SP’s choices for replacing a member in the democratic caucus in the state legislature. These were some of the things that really starting getting under Palin’s skin, and led to the “bloggers in pjs in their parents’ basement” comment. They kept the pressure on, questioned her every move, and let some daylight into her decision-making processes which let people know that she had none as far as governing is concerned. Gryphen at the immoral majority hinted around two months ago that there was some undisclosed information about Palin floating around in Wasilla, and that some people were willing to talk. He was cautious about releasing the information until it could be fully documented.
Kudos to bloggers everywhere!
July 4th, 2009 at 11:11 amProud Says:
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please keep up the baseless attacks on Sarah Palin. This obsession with Gov Palin by the radical left just keeps increasing her popularity with real Americans……..
Palins support comes from the radical and religious right. All opinion polls indicate the middle of the road voters as well as a number of Republicans do not like Palin. If she and/or here husband are indicted, it will be the fatal blow to the Republican party. The people who support Palin will walk away from the party and withdraw from politics. The elections in 2010 would be a Republican slaughter and keep reverberating into 2012.
On the other hand, I am reluctant to write off Palin as a potential candidate. The US has had a number of demagogues and it is not out of the realm of possibility that she could end up as President. The stars would have to be in perfect alignment for that to happen. We need to remember that Hitler rose to power because of economic conditions. But I would not bet the farm on this. There are too many variables that can change before the next elections. It would be more reasonable to project that the Dems will pick up even more seats. Assuming the economy starts improving even in small ways, the biggest issue that can seal the Dems re-election is health care. There are 40 million that are uninsured and that will translate into a lot of votes. There voters in the Republican party that will desert the party if health care passes. That would create the conditions for the Republican party similiar to what happened after Watergate when the party came very close to extinction.
we should all take a deep breath and stop projecting what we would like to believe will happen. The recent events have shown how volatile the politics can be. There are no sure things.

Still…I can’t believe this case will be that hard to prove.
How can you argue with “Receipts for Building Materials.”
July 4th, 2009 at 12:38 pmActually, most of the enthusiasm is because, despite what the always wrong billy kristol has proclaimed – this was not a bold and shrewed move towards the WH.
We have finally thrown off the yoke of potentially being stuck with this yunscrupulous, dishonest, and intellectually challenged woman as a national political leader!!!!
After 8 years of same under dur chimpfurher, how can you not say:

July 4th, 2009 at 12:40 pm…depends on who actually paid for the bill of goods
July 4th, 2009 at 12:41 pmSarah Palin was previously able to shrug off this charge. Since I see no new information I have my doubts that this is the reason. Granted, the Palin’s had not had good enough paying jobs at that time to be able to afford a 3,450 sq ft home on prime real estate so things don’t add up. But, hey, this is Alaska.
July 4th, 2009 at 12:43 pmdallas – the new information is that convicted criminals had until June 30 to fink in exchange for lighter sentences.
July 3, right before the biggest news-dump day of the year, palin quits (and mislead people right up to the announcement that this was about not seeking re-election).
July 4th, 2009 at 12:53 pmTHIS IS BIG NEWS
When things don’t add up…there must be a reason.
Perhaps because of Alaskan Arrogance, tracks were NOT covered.
Ted Stevens was found Guilty..and only avoided Justice because of Bungling by Prosecutors.
Gov. Palin Looked worried, unscripted, and in a hurry. She may not be able to shrug things off much longer.
July 4th, 2009 at 12:56 pmPalin is Alaska’s ‘greatest gift’ to US, her successor says
CNN – ?42 minutes ago?
(CNN) — Alaskan Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will succeed Gov. Sarah Palin after she leaves office later this month, called Palin Alaska’s greatest gift to the United States on Saturday.
oh yea…
July 4th, 2009 at 12:59 pmPalin is Alaska’s ‘greatest gift’ to US, her successor says
Must have been talkin’ to “first dude’s” business partner.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:01 pmspensers mom says: Wiz, I doubt it will be a federal issue. Sounds more like a problem at the state level.
I’m not entirely sure, but I think bribery and kickbacks for any elected official is a Federal crime. That includes Mayor of Wasilla.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:23 pmStupid liberals. Palin was stuck back in pisshole Alaska with no prospects. Now she has had to blow 2 mil defending herself from stupid allegations just like this. She quits, eliminates these headaches and sets her sights on the White House and raising money. Now we will get an endless litany of news about her for the next two years as well as exploding her war chest. All the loony leftys had to do was leave her alone. Now she’s sympathetic to the conservative base of the republican party. Good job, morons.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:27 pmI’ve just realized that August 28, 2008 to July 3, 2009 has only been ten months and three weeks. Lord, it seems like a lifetime.
July 4th, 2009 at 1:35 pmthis is a perplexing problem for the frighties…
July 4th, 2009 at 1:41 pmalmost 24 hours have passed and those are the best talking points they’ve finally come up with…
drew3rd
July 4th, 2009 at 1:43 pmHave you ever been to Alaska?
Over on Huffpo they’ve got a story on Levi writing a tell all on the Palins. Considering he was “marrying” up, and he dropped out of school, he’ll have to have one hell of a ghost writer. One the other hand – the shi* he knows about them could probably fill a couple of volumes.
What’s up Drew, you a little pissy this morning?
July 4th, 2009 at 1:52 pmRupert Murdoch probably offered Sarah Palin a lucrative contract to host a FOX cable television program.
Palin will be able to spout lies and half-truths as a private citizen just like Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, Coulter, Chris Matthews, Michael Savage, William Kristol, etc., etc…..
July 4th, 2009 at 2:10 pmEither way, she and her husband are cheap, opportunistic trash. I still remember how she campaigned by calling Obama a terrorist. How she juiced up the McCain audiences until they were shouting for him to be shot etc. She has absolutely no concept of truth or decency.
If this idiot is the best the GOP can do, then they deserve her. But we do not. We have enough problems cleaning house and trying to survive, without worrying about having such a person as part of the government in any capacity. The GOP picked her because she looked good, because she could be molded like a George Bush. And because they thought she could reach just the average person. True. If the average person has only one working brain cell.
Whatever she has done, if she is caught that will be great. Watch how the GOP will blame it on the President or the Democrats. All the investigations that have been ongoing for a year, from her own state have been bi-partisan. Without the Democrats. And most before she was brought out as VP.
Ethics violations. Despite the fact that legally they could not get her, they censored her for ethics violations. Her affair with a partner of her husband. Her husband using her office for his own business. Her attempt to get her former brother in-law fired from law enforcement. Even trying to listen outside his window to see what he was up to. This list is long. She wanted final say on the local library regarding the books they had. When the librarian said she could not allow it, then Palin got her fired. The town raised such a fuss, she had to hire her back. For crying out loud, just a couple of weeks before she was picked, she was in a ceremony at her church with an African shaman who put hands on her to drive out witches from her soul. She is nuts. Not counting her husband who belongs to a party that advocates secession from the union. In fact he has belonged for the last seven years. She lied about that just a couple of weeks ago.
If she has trouble now, then I hope this moron has it in large doses. You betcha!
July 4th, 2009 at 2:11 pmwell… i’ve heard… It’s all Romney’s doing.
no doubt… heh.
July 4th, 2009 at 2:36 pmApparently, we on the left have all been outsmarted by this resignation.
Who knew?
July 4th, 2009 at 2:49 pmdbadass, drew3rd seems a little silly today.
What’s your take?
July 4th, 2009 at 2:52 pmralph the wonder locust Says:
Apparently, we on the left have all been outsmarted by this resignation.
Considering it is Fox News, I am not surprised. But the author may end up eating his words if Palin and/or her husband are indicted. Then Fox will either blame the liberals or pretend she doesn’t exist.
July 4th, 2009 at 3:00 pmkaty says, “well… i’ve heard… It’s all Romney’s doing.”
I’m surprised that Republicans haven’t used their standard excuse for the past 16 years, “It’s Clinton’s fault!”
July 4th, 2009 at 3:04 pmHawkeye Says:
[Top 5 Reasons Sarah Palin resigned:]
6. She’s having Michael Jackson’s love child and is demanding part of the estate.
July 4th, 2009 at 3:06 pmSeveral sites are now saying that somewhat reliable sources from Alaska law enforcement indicate that a criminal indictment is pending authorization.
July 4th, 2009 at 3:10 pmdelafield Says:

Blago got caught with wiretaps so it would be no surprise if the feds were tapping not only Stevens, but a host of other Alaska politicians.
July 4th, 2009 at 3:26 pmI think she is preparing herself for the future…this is a calculated move.
July 4th, 2009 at 3:53 pmshe has had to blow 2 mil
This seems high to me, maybe some of those she blew she just wanted to, not had to.
Thanks for the observation Droolnth.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:18 pmSome of the comments i have read here are such ridiculous ignorant statements i have to laugh. You socialists measure everyone by your own behaviors. S Palin is just too smart for you to comprehend. These false claims are just more attempts to slow her down. The left wingers are afraid of her and they should be since your big hope&change Obama is doing such a terrible job you guys are shaking in your cheap shoes.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:21 pmNot wearing shoes bs, definitely not shaking.
I am laughing my ass off at the pitifully incompetent Repugnants. I am thoroughly enjoying the show, more to follow!!
July 4th, 2009 at 4:28 pmProudMoron. Nothing baseless here. What you mean of course since you are so stupid and brainwashed is that it increases her popularity with the braindead morons like YOU too stupid to see what an ignorant twit Bimbostien is. Thats fine. Put her on a pedestal. When the inevitable indictment comes drop back by and make all your stupid appologies for her that mindless minions like you make for ANY Republican. You are stupid ProudMoron. Too stupid for any thinking human being to take seriously. Dont you ever just sit down and cry about how stupid and pathetic you are?
July 4th, 2009 at 4:29 pmProudMoron. We want you to keep it up too. Nothing makes us happier than the stupides people on the planet like you CLEARLY are parading their ignorance and showing everyone how pathetic and brainwashed they are. It makes a clear choice. It shows those with normal IQs what they are in for if they put the cons back in power. You are stupid ProudMoron. You are an ignorant brainwashed punk. You are stupider than my carpet. Isnt it time for Rush to tell you what you think today?
July 4th, 2009 at 4:33 pmdrew3rd
No one on the left is half as stupid as you are. My GOD you are ignorant. People are supposed to just overlook corruption and breaking the law because people as stupid as YOU think it is a bad tactic to bring her to justice? Man. You redefine stupidity. This hurts her politically and NOTHING will shake the stupidest most brainwashed cretins like ProudMoron. If Bibmostien went live on CNN and ate Trig they would say what a great mom she is she needed the protien to take care of her other children. Look you are a moron. We cant help that. People dont let possible crimes go uninvestigted because YOU are too stupid to read the political landscape
July 4th, 2009 at 4:38 pmI am a little confused by the five children’s responses she is quoting as receiving as her reason to step down as Governor. Which one said, “Hell, yeah!”? Isn’t one of the five a Down’s Syndrome baby? A simple yes is difficult enough for a child with that disability, so was she counting her child born right after him, Trip? She really needs to just disappear.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:43 pmThe next ridiculous chapter in this saga of Moron Tries To Go To Washington goes as follows.
1) Serious charges will be filled and her and Todd will both be arrested and bailed out.
2) After she’s bailed out she will speak publically about how this was a politically motivated prosecution from the WH.
3) She will point to the completely corrupted DoJ (corrupted by GW Botch, Dick(head), KKKarl, etc.) as the core and root problem of her charges.
4) She will start a legal defense fund now that she’s not Gov. anymore, which she can control.
5) She will use all of the above to further fan the Reich-wing hatred of everyone not in her camp of RePugniScums, racists, fascists, Christianistas and Corporate flesh suckers.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:51 pmShe uses the term LAME DUCK incorrectly…
LD usually refers to a politician that is on their last position in power where they
cannot run for that office again….OH wait…buwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Never mind.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:53 pmDearest EugeneDebs, The comments you have posted are proof that you are at the least a moron. With additional evaluations i am sure moron status would be an improvement for you. Your comments are incomprehensible and a waste of time to read. Your moronic status is hurting the freedom of everyone else. You vote for Obama (assuming you left the trailer long enough to vote)who is the biggest liar, rip off politician ever put into office. Then you spend your time dreaming up false statements of a woman that frightens you to death. Bama can tax every rich person until all of their money is gone and it still won’t pay for all of the freedom stealing laws he is forcing down our throats. I just hope the rest of the Dems wake up from their Obama induced stupors before its too late.
July 4th, 2009 at 5:33 pmHey dixieblood you are just as bad as eugenedebs. What are you saying??? Take a GED course or something, you make no sense at all. Your stupidity is what is really hurting this country. Go stand in line for Michael Jackson tickets and stop polluting the internet.
July 4th, 2009 at 5:38 pmchingebush you sound like another intelligent socialist. You can’t see past your stupidity. I can picture you now, walking around town without shoes. Muttering to yourself obama will pay my rent and buy me a car. Then he will pay my medical and take this giant mole off my nose. Over and over again you keep chanting how much you love the bama and what he will do for you with the money he steals from the hardworking people who built this country. Did you buy watermelon with your foodstamps so you can enjoy some firecrackers while you are watching the cars pass by from your shack under the overpass.
July 4th, 2009 at 5:51 pmpags2 your facts are very twisted I guess you get your news from colbert report. It is a fact that this economy is directly related to the foreclosures which were turned into derivatives which were resold to the insurance companies. The foreclosures are directly related to the policies created by
July 4th, 2009 at 6:07 pmjimmy “peanut” carter and accelerated by bill “bj” Clinton. These programs forced the banks to loan money to people who had little or no income. People like dixie blood, eugendebs and chingebush and these people spent all of their welfare money on crack and plasma screens leaving them without enough money to pay the mortgage. Those are the facts look them up you dimwitted socialist.
no-bs Says:
Those are the facts look them up you dimwitted socialist.
Is this a new term of endearment or just a naked assertion of the facts as you think they are?
July 4th, 2009 at 6:13 pmBy blaming the foreclosures of the past few years on Presidents Carter and Clinton, bs is basically admitting that there is no use in electing Republicans, since apparently Reagan and Bush Sr. and Jr. did nothing to reverse such terrible programs.
bs Says:

A deal was probably struck involving Palin resigning in exchange for the feds not prosecuting her and/or her husband.
The DOJ still remains highly politicized, even with President Obama now in the White House and Eric Holder as Mukasey’s/Gonazles’ replacement as Attorney General.
The right-wing politicized DOJ is full of CRAP (Cover Republican Asses, Punks), with recent events in Alaska supporting this conclusion.
Gov. Palin resigning abruptly under a cloud of suspicion that federal indictments were forthcoming.
Don Young (R-AK). Two Republican representatives. Prosecutorial misconduct by Republican-appointed U.S. attorneys (on purpose?). Cases thrown out, no retrial or no trial at all. Elected Alaskan Republicans skate, with the Obama/Holder DOJ continuing the Republican-friendly policies of the corrupt and criminal Bush/Cheney years.
And then there’s the strange case of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman (D-AL).
Massive evidence of prosecutorial misconduct by Republican-appointed U.S. attorneys, much more prosecutorial misconduct than that said to have occurred up in Alaska…and yet Obama’s/Holder’s DOJ throws out the Alaska cases while continuing to vigorously pursue and prosecutorially push the Siegelman case.
Thus, the DOJ is still highly politicized. It’s still full of CRAP (Cover Republican Asses, Punks). And the abrupt resignation of Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) only makes sense if a deal was struck between the Republican/conservative-corrupted DOJ and her. And how much do you want to bet that all these rumors of an impending indictment against Palin now come to nothing, now that she has resigned and said she’s leaving politics (wink, wink)?
July 4th, 2009 at 6:35 pmno-bs,
You are a c0cksucking, lying piece of sh|t!!!
I have a 6 figure job you sawed-off moronic peckerwood, racists sh|tphuck.

July 4th, 2009 at 7:20 pmTo Number 5, above, otherwise identified as Ralph the Wonder Locust. You can post your own Wikipedia page, but that does not inspire me to believe you.
Even so, Bill Kristol already looks really foolish, stupid and myopic to those of us who read anything he ever says.
This woman is batcrap nuts. No excuses, no denial will be allowed. Dontcha love it?
July 4th, 2009 at 7:28 pmBTW Y’all,
no-bs is a child molestor focused entirely on little boys and priests.
It’s just what you would expect from a RePugniScum, sexual predator and a$$ licking facist!!!!
July 4th, 2009 at 7:30 pmdixie,
I’ve seen no denials from “no-bs,” so your charges must be true. Ew!
July 4th, 2009 at 7:53 pmI just found this clip where Hannity and Palin talk about how great socialism is, but they are too ignorant to know what they are actually saying.
From the date stamp, this was only a couple of weeks ago. Gosh they are morons.
This is hilarious.
http://progressnotcongress.org/?p=2025
July 4th, 2009 at 8:04 pmZooey,
That’s true. Ew! is correct.
However, in the interest of fair play and progressive thought, something moron knows nothing about, I will give the slug 24 hours to prove I’m a crack addict with a plasma screen TV.
Using some logic here, unlike my moronic stalker, I don’t think a crack addict would hang on to a plasma screen TV for longer than 2 tokes on the pipe.
My how the Reich-wing projects on the rest of us….

WOW. You are unbelievably stupid. Bimbostien might be smart compared to a moron like you but the woman who couldnt even NAME a Supreme Court decision other than Roe V Wade who thought the founding fathers knew about the Pledge of allegience written in 1895 BY A SOCIALIST YOU MORON. Isnt smart by any other standard. Bottom line you are ignorant stupider than pondwater the rest of us can recognize an ignorant poser like Bimbostien.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:23 pmno-bs Says
I am not staying up at night worrying about what someone as staggeringly stupid as you thinks about me and of course I use the word THINK in its broadest possible application since CLEARLY you are too stupid to actually perform any higher brain function. You are a moron and you are a punk. You are so stupid that toe fungus laughs at you. Keep the free clown show coming moron. I just LOVE to laugh at people as stupid as you
July 4th, 2009 at 9:28 pmno-bs
No MORON those arent facts. Those are the stupid talking points that Rush TOLD you to belive and you were stupid enough to mistake them for facts. MY GOD you are stupid
July 4th, 2009 at 9:29 pmWOW BS at least you chose an appropriate nick. I make a GREAT living. More than you will ever see from your mommy’s basement you pathetic ignorant piece of garbage. You are even too stupid to ask if people want fries with that. Sponging off the in-laws is the best a moron like you will EVER hope to attain. You are so stupid that morons everywhere are embarassed by you
July 4th, 2009 at 9:32 pmSorry BS but posting your frustrations here wont do a thing about your sad, lonely pathetic life. No one likes you, no one respects you and no one ever will. You are STUPID BS. You know it. I know it. Everyone reading your pathetic ignorant posts knows it. Your family cat knows it thats why even HE looks at you with pity. You will always be stupid and you will always be pathetic. Time to come to terms with it. Just give in and cry. Ranting here wont help. It just introduces that many more people to how astonishing stupid and pathetic you are
July 4th, 2009 at 9:38 pmYou know she was busted for something big, but she is going to get away with it. No doubt, she had a deal to resign and investigations would be dropped. She won’t pay for anything she has done. Nor will any of the others in her party who committed various crimes. For that matter, all of those who are at the top of the government/CEO/corporate heap can do whatever they want, with little fear that they will pay the price us little people would pay.
July 4th, 2009 at 10:02 pmZooey,
bs also hasn’t come up with a retort for my comment in #206 (that is, if the numbers don’t change) that he/she/it must think it is useless to elect Republicans. So I guess bs agrees.
Zooey Says:

You are all so limited in conversation and thought. Not one of you can deal with facts so you create bs rumors about Palin because you are afraid of her. You all say the same things its incredible you have no understanding of basic rules of life. The chinese, russians, and the french all are laughing at the bama with his new socialist policies. If you morons make the money you claim to make it will serve you right when that big eared left winged radical takes 65% of your paycheck. With all of the money that community organizer is spending there won’t be anything left you guys for your food stamps. I am not a republican i believe in freedom and small government. Keep the rumors coming they are very entertaining. Like the big whopper about bush blowing up the world trade center. You guys are very creative, i’ll give that to you. Did you hear the one about Chenny and Palin? That should be the next one. I think they are planning to have a child and implant it into the bamas mother in law. right?
July 4th, 2009 at 11:11 pmZooey,
July 4th, 2009 at 11:24 pmgreat name, did you think of that all by yourself? Wow!!As far a retort goes your statement makes no sense. How do you expect me of superior intelligence to crawl on my 6 pack and sink to your level to respond to a statement as incoherent as yours. Impossible, i just can’t do it.
By the way check the records you will see i am right.
Not one of the policies you liberals have created has ever worked. We are going broke with your outrageous polices and you will end up suffering from the results.
BS you ignorant piece of garbage. You wouldnt know a fact if it jumped up and bit your nutsack. You are stupid beyond human comprehension. You are a brainwashed moron with delusions of adequacy. Your ignorance is a stench in the nostrils of decent Americans. The ones that avert their heads when they see you so you dont get embarssed by the pity they have for you. You are stupid and pathetic. You will always be stupid and pathetic. You spew what the Limborg told you to think because you KNOW you are too stupid to think for yourself. Keep humiliating yourself by parading your ignorance though. I just love to laugh at morons as stupid as you
July 4th, 2009 at 11:28 pmbs’s inability to use apostrophes makes me think he is JimmyLovesBuck’s latest incarnation. Oh, yes, bs, FDR’s New Deal didn’t work, did it? The United States remained in a depression, according to your history, until when?
July 4th, 2009 at 11:30 pmI seriously doubt that you know for sure whether the French, Russians, etc. are laughing about Obama. The French I know (and I speak French) like him, as do the Japanese (I speak Japanese, too).
Lora
You didnt really expect BS to think did you? Higher brain function is beyond his wildest dreams. He is far too stupid to think. You will have to wait for an answer til Rush TELLS him what to think

Yeah but it sounded good to BS when Rush said it
July 4th, 2009 at 11:32 pmEugene,
Did Rush really say that? Then maybe bs is the latest moniker for the conservativeforplagiarism troll who always took quotes from other rightwingers without any attributions.

Worker safety didnt work? You are stupid. You are too stupid to think to you repeat the stupidity you were brainwashed with like this. Just STFU. You are too stupid to even enjoy laughing at. Retarded monkeys shake their heads at your abject stupidity
July 4th, 2009 at 11:41 pmLora. I use Rush as shorthand for all the rightwing screechmonkeys that program morons like BS. To me they are all cells of the Limborg hivemind and yeah that is a rightwing talking point that the world is laughing at us. Even though Obama is DEMONSTRABLY popular in Europe at least.
July 4th, 2009 at 11:44 pmEugene,
July 4th, 2009 at 11:55 pmI spend a lot of time in Asia. I can say that Obama is definitely very popular among the Japanese and to a lesser extent with the Chinese, too. I am quite aware of how disliked Bush and Cheney were in the other countries I visited.
Anyway, I have to go out for a while. Please have fun with bs should he return.
One thing all you Palin supporters keep seeming to ignore…
Sarah Palin never really was Governor of Alaska…
She spent maybe 3 weeks in the office and the rest of the time she was…
shredding papers from wasilla
writing bill recipts for wasilla home
on vacation
traveling
visiting her supporters
on vacation
tapped as a Vice presidential candadate
traveling
shopping
making speeches for presidential election
shopping
on vaction
the Iditarod race
snowmobile races
vacation
and oh yeah
putting lipstick on a pig while killing a turkey :P
NOW she gets to her “New” office and finds she actually has to either work or show her incompetence…
Guess what she does….
She quits…
Bet shes gonna make a ton of money on the talk circuit
July 5th, 2009 at 12:07 amShe is perfect for Fox News. Able to regurgitate RNC talking points. Looks good in front of a camera. Empty between the ears.
July 5th, 2009 at 12:41 amHey emtee you liberals have more criminals in your party than the Republicans so what are you talking about. And what makes big corporations bad and big government good. I would rather deal with big private corps than big government corps like the post office or IRS.You are right about one thing you are a little guy and clueless to boot.
July 5th, 2009 at 7:39 amHey angry and stupid great comment you are at the top of your heap. Like you know what you are jabbering about just another rumor monger.
July 5th, 2009 at 7:42 amLora,
July 5th, 2009 at 7:47 amI spend a great deal of time in Asia as well. And for your information the chinese are laughing at Obama for spending all of the money that he has borrowed from them. He is just a community organizer with no executive experience and it shows. Just because of few of the Japanese you see like the bama, means nothing. What he has done and is about to do is pissing off the Chinese far more than anything Pres Bush has ever done. You sound like another nitwit.
What is all this talk about Rush?? He doesn’t teach me anything i don’t already know. rarely listen to him. You guys don’t like him because he articulates the thoughts of millions. You can not debate or show he is wrong about his thoughts. You cannot prove he has lied about anything all you can say or do is talk about his past additions. Big deal many people have additions that proves nothing. And all of these comments about talking points? What i am discussing are currents points of interest and mistakes of the big eared socialist. NOT one of you low browed, two faced, baby killing, welfare supporting liberals can shine my shoes without asking the other for instructions.
July 5th, 2009 at 8:01 amHey eugendebs if the europeans like us so much why are the russians, germans and french telling us to go slow and not spend sooooo much money we don’t have on these stupid give away programs that will never do anything. Who cares if you speak french?? what has that got to do with anything? You morons cannot string three words together to save your life.
July 5th, 2009 at 8:06 amAll you do, nb/jimmylovesbucks/fleamarketloony, is string a list of insults, because you can’t answer any valid questions. So I will ask you again, when did the Great Depression end, if ever, according to your history? It’s also pretty funny that you mention money borrowed from China, when it was Dumbya Bush that chalked up all that debt. While saying that liberals cannot string three words together, you’re too stupid to see the advantage to speaking other languages. Not only will people open up more to those who speak their language but also the private conservations taking place among the locals can be understood. Yes, call me a “nitwit” now since all you know is how to insult. Meanwhile some of your fellow trolls have called me an “elitist” since I have Ivy League degrees and have received prestigious fellowships. The reality is that I’m neither, but then you don’t have much of a grasp on reality, do you?
July 5th, 2009 at 8:34 amBS you really are too stupid for me to explain how grownups give each other advise and dont always agree on everything. Perhaps if you ever attain the ability for higher brain function… What am I talking about you are stupid. You are always going to BE stupid. The only reason you even SAY Rush doesnt tell you what to think is because you are so brainwashed you can no longer distinguish between the voices in your head and the voice on the radio.
You by the way arent discussing ANYTHING you ignorant piece of dogshit. You are spewing the propaganda you have been programmed with. Of COURSE we can show Rush lied about this and was wrong about that. ITs what he does. He lies to people as stupid as you in the hopes you will be ignorant enough to buy his BS. Like YOU are. He lies all the time. If you are too stupid to get that you are already too brainwashed for anyone here to help you. Face it you are stupid. You will always BE stupid. You could fit your brain in a thimble and have plenty of room left for two raisens and Dick Cheneys heart.

July 5th, 2009 at 9:30 amBS said: this economy is directly related to the foreclosures which were turned into derivatives
No, bs, foreclosures weren’t turned into derivatives – MORTGAGES were turned into derivatives. You don’t really have a firm grasp of this topic, do you?
bs said: These programs forced the banks to loan money to people who had little or no income.
I remember being deluged with offers of free mortgage money by banks. They were BEGGING people to take loans. There wasn’t much forcing going on as far as I could see.
And you should know that every single sub-prime mortgage could have gone belly up on the same day and it still would not have created the financial disaster that the 30 to 1 leveraging caused. It was the banks’ unrestrained greed (aka unregulated, free-market bull****) that caused the failures and put us here – not a few low-income loans. A hundred trillion dollars was lost yet the sum of all subprime mortgage in the country was less than 100 billion. It was the banks kiting with derivatives that put the economy where it is.
July 5th, 2009 at 9:35 amLook at it this way. Palin is so intelligent she has added a new verb to the English language. Palin = Quit. She palined her job on Friday because she is such a paliner. “I wish the press would palin picking on me….boo hoo.”
July 5th, 2009 at 10:30 amThe LA Times reports today that “the FBI’s Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.” “There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we’re investigating her or getting ready to indict her,” Special Agent Eric Gonzalez told the Times.

Hey instarx you are tying to be smart and you put your foot into you mouth. I don’t have all day to educate you i am about to come about and head back out to sea. They are foreclosed mortagages’ you sick wannabe. Not all of them were foreclosed first then packaged as derivatives but many of them were. Most of these mortagages’ were showing inconsistant payment histories and the banks wanted to get rid of them. They did what they needed to do you stay alive.
July 5th, 2009 at 2:31 pmAnd by the way the banks were forced into making the loans. Acorn and other liberal group sued numerous banks near the start of this mess because the banks deemed many of the buyers insolvent and bad risks. When the banks realized they had to make these loans they made them. Then the whole damn broke loose because the greedy bankers saw they could take bj clintons stupid policies and make money off of them. Then we had political crooks forcing banking crooks to steal more. I was there i know first hand. How do you think i got this HUGH boat.
Goodbye to all of you liberal misfits. This site is non-educational just a bunch of low life liberals saying the same thing, “NOTHING”. I will go somewhere where people are smart.

The Palins’ attorney is threatening lawsuits about this story. All he has to do to end speculation about the issue is simply release the names of Todd’s anonymous contractor “buddies” who built his half million dollar lakeside house down the road from the Wasilla Sports Complex worksite.
SBS, a major arena contractor, also sponsors Todd’s racing team.

Sure facts do matter. Do they matter to YOU? You didnt really think the FBI was the ONLY federal agency that investigates did you? Perhaps this is just a rumor, perhaps it isnt. TP didnt make any accusations. We will see.
July 5th, 2009 at 5:20 pmBS,
You ought to learn to spell, punctuate, etc.–not to mention English grammar–before you talk about educating others. You can’t even write English fluently.
I hope you are really going, because nobody here will miss your hate-filled dribble. But I wouldn’t doubt that you will be coming back under yet another troll name.

Actually, it was GWB who borrowed all that money from the Chinese (you should try capitalizing, but I guess you can’t do that easily typing with one hand). By 2005, the Chinese held about 45% of our debt.
How many generations of inbreeding did it take to produce you, anyhow?
July 5th, 2009 at 6:08 pmSpeaking of new vocabulary, I’ve always liked the word Palinistic: the condition of being monumentally unaware of one’s own limitations.

Oh yeah? OH YEAH? Well, “I Speak Six Languages” (I really liked that Broadway show)! Do you sing too, BS?
July 5th, 2009 at 10:10 pmYou speak 5 languages, bs?
Can you explain, then, why one of them is not English?
Damn…I knew it would happen. When trolls are begging for it this persistently, I just can’t help but feed them. Poor starving thing. Makes my liberal heart bleed, I tell you.
July 6th, 2009 at 2:56 pmI was hoping she had slept with Mark Sanford…but this will do just as well. No wonder she didn’t need stimulus money. Just barter with state contracts and it is allgood.
