While protesting government spending at Houston’s Independence Day Tea Party, Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher stated that American taxpayer dollars would be best spent on the mass deportation of 12 million undocumented immigrants:
WURZELBACHER: I believe in making sure our country is safe first. I believe we need to spend a little more on illegal immigrants. Get them the hell out of our damn country and close the borders down. We can do it. We’ve got the greatest military in the world and you’re telling me we can’t close our borders? — That’s just ridiculous.
Watch it:
Wurzelbacher dedicated a private interview to saying that he’s tired of the government “sticking its hand” in his “back-pocket” and urging the government to “pull its head out of its butt.” Apparently he’s against bailouts and the stimulus bill, but he completely supports spending approximately $206 billion over five years, or $41.2 billion annually, to hunt down and deport all the undocumented immigrants living in the US. Joe probably doesn’t realize that such a policy would also mean a loss of $1.8 trillion in annual spending and $651.5 billion in annual output.
Joe’s demented view on immigration and government spending was echoed by tax protesters at tea parties across the nation. Jack Martin, Special Projects Director of the anti-immigrant hate group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) was a featured speaker at Virginia’s Prince William County American Freedom Day Tea Party. The Anti-Defamation League warned that white supremacists and neo-Nazi hate groups were planning to take advantage of the tea parties to disseminate their anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant views and recruit new members.
Before anyone beats me to it…
Joe the Plumber should get “The Hell Out Of Our Damn Country”

Hm, what do you think will happen to the nation’s agricultural (and maufacturing) sectors if the 12m or so illegal immigrants are deported?
Sam the Unemployed Plumbing Person will need a source of income when he fades from the political scence. May I suggest picking lettuce or harvesting citrus for $10 a day?
People just don’t realize the ramifications of deporting 12,000,000 people…

July 6th, 2009 at 3:18 pmUmmm Joe, as we are kicking the illegal aliens that are in the United States of America do we kick out with them any kids they had that were born in this country to them? Remember if you born here you are a citizen of the U.S.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:20 pmTP, knock this sh¡t off, please.
The only people giving play to these nobodies is you.

Europeans weren’t deported en mass when their wave of immigration occurred between the late 1800s and early ’20s.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:21 pmDid anyone suggest to the distinguished Right Wing pundit that a more effective way to go about immigration reform would be to come down hard on employers who willingly hire illegal immigrants? This option is never mentioned by Republicans as it goes against the will of their corporate masters despite the fact that this procedure would actually make money for the gov’t. through stiff fines. What say you, The Young Repiglicker? Should the emphasis be on fining employers?
July 6th, 2009 at 3:21 pm“Wurzelbacher”…what is that, Cherokee?
July 6th, 2009 at 3:24 pmThe Plumber’s-Helper-Not-Named-Joe is way past his sell-by date. He needs to take the lead from Failin’ Palin. It’s also time for him to “pursue other activities”. What he’s doing now isn’t working, either.
Perhaps Sarah and Not-Joe could open up a think tank to help the republicans hone their essential skills. They could call it The American Victimhood Institute. After all, those two are the experts on the topic.

You haven’t noticed by now? EVERY TP article is about something stupid a wingnut said. If you want a comprehensive progressive advocacy site, I’d recommend hitting up dailykos or moveon.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:44 pmIllegals are interpreted as people who came here illegally or have over stayed there welcome. If the goverment goes ahead and does that, besides the monetary loss, it will kill the American image forever where Bush left off. It would also mean chasing away every illegal, be it British or mexican. Those are waters you do not want to test. Joe may not be an elected official but people will assume, this is the way the republicans think, even if they don’t talk about it openly. Its up to Mcain to shut this guy up since he introduced us to him rest we think he thinks the same.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:45 pmOne troll. Two sentences. Two lies.
Our European ancestors stole this country and virtually exterminated it’s rightful owners. Most people of Hispanic descent in this country are citizens and most immigrants arive here legally.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:46 pmThe Young Republican Says:
Europeans came here LEGALLY. Most mexicans did NOT.
1. The laws were less restrictive back then. If you want to talk about a reasonable immigration policy, then start with the inscription on the base of the Statue of Liberty and ask yourself whether that’s still the case today.
2. Are you claiming that a full majority of hispanics currently in America are here illegally? Well, it’s no wonder you’re so freaked out if you’re going off of bizarre premises like that.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:48 pmIt may seem idiotic to give Joe the fake plumber attention but I think it’s good to see what the rightwingnut fringe is up to. It’s unreal that people actually invite this guy to speak?!
July 6th, 2009 at 3:50 pmAccording to JTP logic, we can solve our undocumented immigrant “problem” by merely rounding up and deporting everybody who’s not residing in this country legally, and “closing the border”.
Just as we can solve our crime “problem” by rounding up and imprisoning all criminals.
What “Joe” fails to realize — among other things — is that even if we spent gobs of money to find all the undocumented aliens and then deported them all, chances are a great many of them are just going to cross the border again. They’re determined to get in — build a wall, they’ll scale it. Build a bigger wall, they’ll dig a tunnel. Form a human chain of law enforcement along the border and enough get seduced by bribery by the coyotes as to make the effort worthless.
The only way to slow the influx of illegal entrants to the country is to remove what’s attracting them here. Most come here looking for work. So why aren’t we cracking down on employers who hire them? Simple. Too many politicians are willing to protect employers’ rights to hire cheap labor. So all we ever get is winks, nods, nudges, and lip service whenever people demand it.
All of this is lost on JTP, though. He can only understand a talking point if it’s short enough to tweet.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:51 pmHas Joe the Plumber paid his back taxes yet? I’m not sure if he knows this or not but his taxes actually are supposed to help the government do some of the things he wants. I mean you can’t get something for nothing, right Joe?
July 6th, 2009 at 3:51 pmAch du lieber! Herr Wurzelbacher ist complaining about our verdammt country? Unglaublich!
I wonder what hopes his family had when coming over here, and if they would have ever imagined the xenophobia they themselves almost certainly experienced as immigrants in the US would be echoed by their very own children against other immigrants….
And yes, Michelle Maglalang, er, Malkin, I’m looking at you too.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:53 pmJoe,
I talked to god about you, and he was like, “Joe should shut the f uck up.”
July 6th, 2009 at 3:54 pmJoe The Plumber Says Illegal Immigrants Should Get ‘The Hell Out Of Our Damn Country’
There, fixed it for you.
(Personally, I support some limited form of amnesty for illegals who do not commit violent crimes in the U.S. However, that doesn’t give TP cause to claim Joe opposes all immigrants. There’s plenty to attack Joe about, but don’t make stuff up, please.)
Later,
July 6th, 2009 at 3:54 pmSammyJoe is not referring to all illegal immigrants. He’s referring to brown illegal immigrants. The blonde, blue-eyed variety are a-okay by SammyJoe.
And SammyJoe is proposing that we use our military to patrol the borders? Me no thinky wingnutters will enjoy having armed military on the streets of the good ole US of A.
PEACE

July 6th, 2009 at 3:57 pmHe did say illegal immigrants.
The title of this article is wrong. It should have been, “Hey everyone, cus out Joe the Plumber.”

July 6th, 2009 at 4:03 pmThe Young Republican Says:
Europeans came here LEGALLY. Most mexicans did NOT.
I have a question, one the trolls will almost certainly will not answer correctly: Was there any federal agency as powerful back when European immigrants were washing ashore that could narrowly define what “legal” immigration was?
Historical migration patterns has always been motivated by a people seeking a better life, even if the motivation is accommodated by low-wage employment benefiting corporate profits.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Times change, technology advances & the need arises out of national security to secure our borders. I do support prospective u.s. permanent residents undergoing a criminal background check (1 felony / 3 mis. you’re out) and paying back taxes, etc. I’m also mindful of identity theft– although that would certainly be in decline if the system was reformed.
The central question remains, though: Can we simply create a blockage to every natural period of migration? Do we need more frayed relations out of fearmongering and end up surprised when, out of frustration from some people, we hear the “gringo” and “southwest takeover” rhetoric?
July 6th, 2009 at 4:05 pmSomething we Native Americans should have done before all those crazy Europeans invaded and brought their damn crazy religions and devil with them. Hind sight is 20/20 though. Instead we gave those Mayflower people food and invited them for dinner. See what we got for being nice?
Hey, Joe, you need to go back to the country that kicked your ancestors out, before they decided to come over here and ruin this nation.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:05 pmUh oh, watchpuppy’s got us by the short and curlies now!

July 6th, 2009 at 4:08 pmTYR
Actually, the Europeans came over here, slaughtered Native Americans, pushed them off their land, and then claimed thel and for themselves.
But I’m sure your version of history sits better with you, doesn’t it?
July 6th, 2009 at 4:08 pmI’ll entertain the fact that others have noted, that Hispanic immigrants are model immigrants in ways far eclipsing the conduct of my ancestors, who nearly exterminated an entire race.
It really is difficult to understand the plight of native Americans when their clout never took hold in a post WWII America? They’ve watched the good times come and go, in their permanent recession.
What kind of activism could possibly bring them some semblance of relief? That remains a tough one. To date, the only recognition of their plight has come out of congress, and it always concerns freakin’ casinos.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:11 pmCan’t we, please, just say no to Joe. You, know, “no mo Joe”.
If E! can say no to Speidi, for the same crime, far out-living your 15 minutes of fame, can’t we start a grass roots movement to refuse to listen to anything that that Joe the plunger has to say? Perhaps if ignored, he might eventually go away.
Everybody now, “NO MO, JOE”
July 6th, 2009 at 4:11 pmHmmmmm, G-O-O-D . .
I hope Joe the UNemployed ‘plumber wannabe’ sticks around until the next election ’cause the INDEPENDENTS just love listening to ignorance . .
Keep ‘em coming Joey!!!
Wouldn’t anyone like to see the ‘08 and ‘09 income tax returns filed by this RW flea??
July 6th, 2009 at 4:13 pmJoe’s had one heck of a run eh? To think it all started with a question to the president elect, and then he got to travel all around the country free of charge, gets to talk on camera and spew crap anytime he wants, gets to talk about being horny around republicans, even gets to travel outside the US. Not bad indeed for a guy with no license, no job, and no company he was going to buy that under Obama, would have given him a tax credit.
Where’s my 15 min of fame?

This is the height of truly “liberal” thinking – that we can just completely solve a complex societal problem by turning all of our military and/or economic might on it. Such projects inevitably fail while causing a bunch of unintended consequences.
The funny thing is, if you look at it throughout modern American history, the left wing has gone in for such “liberal crusades” far less frequently than the right wing has. The left wing attempted the War on Poverty, under Johnson. The right wing has gone in for: the War on Crime, the War on Drugs, the Global War on Terror, and Neocon “invade any country we don’t like” policies. Now we can add zero-tolerance/top-priority immigration enforcement to their list.
When they’re not howling about how government can’t do anything right, they’re howling that government should invade other countries and lock up or deport all of the black and brown people for various reasons. The capability of these people to believe two or more contradictory things at once is simply breathtaking.
.
watchdog Says:
President Theodore Roosevelt:
…
What a racist b@stard!
Well, yeah. I mean this guy made his career meddling with Central American countries (by shooting Central Americans with a gun). But most people were racist in his time.
There’s no requirement that people act like you do in order to live in the same country as you. All they should have to do is proclaim allegiance to the Constitution. Not to your language, not to your skin color, not to what kind of food you eat or what kind of music you listen to. That’s not liberty at all, and if you insist on forcing everyone to conform to your standard, then you don’t understand America at all.

July 6th, 2009 at 4:19 pmI don’t guess Joe the Plumber is in any way able to understand the reality that he, as a white-skinned numb-skulled punk, is himself descended of immigrants to what was, a scant 5-600 years ago, a continent populated by people as unlike him as he is, in today’s world, unlike anyone/everyone with a mind.
Define his ilk as the true ‘illegals,’ deport them all (to who cares where) and all the world will be better off (with the possible exception of ‘who cares where.’)
July 6th, 2009 at 4:24 pmI should have refreshed before posting. Then I would have known that people have been laying into TYR for the same stupid statement that I responded to.
watchdog – TR was WAY ahead of his time, and history reflects that nicely. I don’t agree with his sentiments on assimilation, but that was a fairly common sentiment back then. Based on his views in relation to the views of the rest of the country and policial landscape of the time, TR would very much be on our side in this day and age. For the most part, his beliefs from way back then are just now starting to truely take hold – such as universal healthcare, reasonable regulation of corporations and capitalism, conservationism,, the list goes on. This is much more shocking when you consider he was a Republican. Oh how THAT political platform has changed.
A brilliant man, possibly born in the wrong century, and still one of the greatest Presidents this country has ever been fortunate enough to have.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:25 pmProd flaunts his ignorance….AGAIN.
At least he’s consistent.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:25 pmMr. Pee: posting stupid stuff three times doesn’t make you any more right — it just makes it three times as evident what a moron you are…
And if we deported the illegals, the republic fascist party wouldn’t have any boogeymen to whip up the teabaggers against, so they’d never win another election…
July 6th, 2009 at 4:29 pmJust a wild guess, but I suspect proud and Joe are kindred spirits in both the political and IQ realms.

_____________________________________________________________
You seem to have problems with your clutch slipping, because your brain is obviously not engaged when you post.
1. Since “illegals” don’t vote, their presence or absence really doesn’t affect either party on Election Day.
2. ACORN doesn’t have anything to do with “illegals” voting.
3. The Democratic Party really doesn’t have anything to fear from Joe the Plumber.
Would you like to try again? Or would you prefer to just STFU until you have something sensible to say?

It’s probably a waste of time to expect you to provide any evidence at all that ACORN committed voter fraud, I mean that would mean you’d have to actually think instead of repeat something you heard on the TV and all, you betcha.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:33 pmGet them the hell out of our damn country…
Hey, did Sam/Joe just damn America? I believe he did, there.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:33 pmI love when liberals bring up the native americans. Guess what libs, we defeated the native americans. Once they were defeated, the land was OURS for the taking. They can try to take it back any time. If they defeat us, its their country.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:34 pmMaybe joe would like to lead proud and the young republican’t on a mission to murder more brown people in Arizona. Join the minutemen, put on your hoods and shoot brown people boys. it’s what you do.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:35 pmOh, yeah. One more thing, watchdog.
TR WAS a racist. He knew that about himself.
But he also supported equality for all people (actually men, this was before women’s suffrage), regardless of color on their own individual merits and recognized that racism would fade as time wore on and new generations came about. What do you know? He was right about that, too.

Someone’s never been to an indian casino…
Dumb as mud.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:36 pmI have to take a tiny exception, smidget.
I think it’s more accurate to say the Ol’ Teddy was “at the height of his time”, rather than “ahead of his time”. That’s not to say that he didn’t have visions for the future but, his remarkable successes stemmed from him being very focused on the moment. He solved real-time problems in real-time.
Frankly, that’s a quality I see in President Obama. It remains to be seen if he can ever achieve the “everyman” status of Teddy but I don’t see why not.
Teddy grew up as a privileged, and somewhat sickly, aristocrat and turned himself into a rugged war hero and man of the people. As long as Obama continues to solve real-time problems in real-time, I think an intellectual with Kenyan heritage can pull it off too. Despite the shrieking of the Reichwhiners.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:37 pmThe reason why it is important to spend sometime dissecting what Joe The Plunger spews is because he actually represents the GOPiggie base.
He is not an intellectual. He doesn’t consider or reflect upon the idiocies he “believes;” he just spouts the same empty talking points to rouse the rabble.
Below is his statement:
Notice the brown shirt trolls picked up exactly what Joe the Plunger didn’t say.
They are talking about Mexicans.
They are talking about the southern border.
They howl night and day about “safety,” “freedumbs,” and “big government” not giving a thought about how much personal information is already in the hands of credit reporting agencies, state driving licenses, Social Security and IRS.
Enjoy your change of diaper, RW-nutz.

July 6th, 2009 at 4:41 pmI don’t know pete – equal rights for black people, universal healthcare, corporate reform, environmentalism?
These are truely progressive ideals for the 1900s, sir. Many people STILL haven’t gotten on the bandwagon for these beliefs.
Let’s say this – I’ll agree with you on one condition – instead of referring to TR as “ahead of his time” we’ll have to simply refer to Republicans as “stuck in the distant past,” as clearly either one or the other has to be true.
But you’ll not sway my love for the first Progressive President. ;)

Yeah, the last time y’all tried to manufacture evidence for the claim that ACORN was signing up illegal immigrants to vote, it didn’t work out so well for you, did it?
Turns out that the two people targeted by the GOP’s investigators in New Mexico were citizens after all, despite being harassed and threatened by GOP operatives. There has been zero evidence of ACORN-related fraud in the entire country, in one of the highest election turnouts ever.

About half of all legal residents walk through the boarder crossings or ports of entry and simply don’t leave. The only way to make a serious dent is to take the Reichwing approach of not letting anyone whatsoever enter the country.

Europeans came here LEGALLY. Most mexicans did NOT.
Quit while you’re ahead. The Mexicans were here first in California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and in parts of other western and southwestern states. People of European origin encroached on THEIR territory and forced them out. Some of us are living on their land.

OK, we seem to have a troll with such a vile, hateful mindset that he’s not worth reasoning with. By his logic, if we got a band of people together and kicked him and his family out of his house, it would be ours for the taking, since we “defeated” him.
He thinks it’s apparently OK to barge onto somebody else’s land and claim it for oneself, even if the possessor of that land has done nothing to provoke an attack. It would be nice if we could just export all these “survival of the fittest” types to another planet and allow them to fight each other as much as they want and allow the rest of us to live in peace.
July 6th, 2009 at 4:47 pmThe Young Republican has proven itself to be a racist and plagerist.
The question is not why are any of us even bothering to respond to this sub-human pile of mess, but why is it still allowed to post on this site?

Ah, might makes right. Hey, I’ve got some left-wing propaganda here you should read sometime.
Oh yeah, and the Republican party advocates immorality and is anti-Christian. Thanks for that one. Keep on handing us the high ground on every issue, and within a few years the last Republican left in the country will be barely able to stomach voting for himself.

Another planet would be super expensive. How about Antarctica? We could give every man, woman, and child an M16 with a full clip and the last one “wins”.

majii Says:

The only feasible way to completely eliminate the “Mexican immigration” problem would be to allow those states to secede as a group. Maybe call it “Aztlan” or something, heh heh… but if wingnuts really want to keep pushing the issue, that’ll end up being the only solution that achieves what they’re demanding. So maybe they better shut up.
July 6th, 2009 at 5:00 pm@watchdog
What about being against the mindset that it’s yours if you kill someone else and take it is either self-righteous or at odds with the founding fathers?
misscoleopteramolly didn’t say anything about how horrible and evil the founding fathers were. She did, however, mention the illogical and frankly ridiculous assertion by The Young Racist that simply being able to take something from someone else constituted a legal ownership. Clearly you can’t rebut such an argument, but I must ask why you feel the need to misrepresent her statements so aggregiously?

How accommodating of you. You make that statement knowing full well that native Americans struggle just to get a foothold on the political process, let alone organize a revenge coup against those nearly wiped them off the map.
I take solace in the fact that most people, including native Americans, when faced with adversity, don’t have a gung-ho mentality in seeking atonement. Your kind has the market cornered on the use of that doctrine, not that you’ve ever faced adversity.

For my part, I don’t blame people for existing, including myself. Where people are born, and the fact that they want to continue to survive there isn’t their fault, regardless of what their forebears did to bring about that state of affairs. However, I am also aware that I bear responsibility for the genocide that has made my existence possible. Not blame, but responsibility; those are two different things, although every time I’ve tried to explain that to a wingnut they become mentally incapable of processing language.
PS: if slaughtering an entire continent’s worth of people just to take over their continent isn’t evil, then what is? Are you saying that you do literally believe in the Manifest Destiny of the White Race?
July 6th, 2009 at 5:07 pmSo the young racist thinks that might makes right and defeating your opponent by any means is ok, yet he and his ilk cry like little babies when democrats win elections, or when crybaby barbie quits her job because the liberal bloggers say mean things…

I think that’s why we still have ‘creationists’ because if they believed in evolution they’d have to acknowledge that their ancestors were quite brown actually. As in dark brown, and they cannot accept that.

July 6th, 2009 at 5:21 pmI saw a table set up outside a grocery store and when I saw that there was a sign taped to it that said, “Close The Borders!” I walked by shaking my head and a man who was signing their petition saw me and, with tween in tow, confronted me in the store.
I said, “You realize that your ancestors were immigrants, right?” and he started yelling at me saying, “At least my ancestors didn’t steal!”. He was incoherent and totally embarrassed his daughter.

Even if you are a creationist, Adam would probably have to be brown; unless of course you also go in for Christian Identity Theology, which posits that all non-whites count as “beasts of the fields” and are not descended from Adam at all. I’d be curious to know how many of these “anti-immigration” folks hold to that view.

I remain horrified by what the ‘white plague’ has done (and continues to do) to the aboriginal people on this continent. That said, and with admission that I myself am of northern European rootstock, I still live here and support this ‘place’ that’s been ‘built on such evil doings.’ My hope is that in some way, no matter how small it may prove to ever be, I will, before I expire, do what I can to help extinguish rampant race-based bigotry. It’s not an easy task, as shown here today; nestled amongst the comments here are evidences of just exactly how foul Americans can be when faced with issues that are intellectually beyond them. Here, today, once again, we witness that which H.L.Mencken wrote in the aftermath of the Scopes Monkey Trial in Tennessee:
“On the one side was bigotry, ignorance, hatred, superstition, every sort of blackness that the human mind is capable of. And on the other side was sense. And sense achieved a great victory.”
A short-lived victory, obviously. Still, we try. Some of us, at least, to if not vanquish idiocy to at least paint it into the occasional corner.
Sort of like here, today. You know? Get it, watchdog?
July 6th, 2009 at 5:53 pm“When I think Republican, dumb, dumber, and dumbest”
Hey Joe, who let the immigration occur anyway? The borders were to be secured because of 9/11 and behold, these illegal’s show up walking through the Port Authorities, our airports and over the border. If you want to direct your indignation why don’t you try the U S Chamber of Commerce (ultra cheap labor). Rove thought the Republicans could secure the Hispanic vote. The immigration happened under the Republican watch, you stupid tea bagger (what a dick)
They where allowed in the country, let’s deal with it in a civilized way.

July 6th, 2009 at 7:17 pmThe foreign dignitary that Bush met after taking office in 2000 was Vincente Fox,the president of Mexico. You can be sure that Bush assured Fox that he would do nothing to stop illegal immigration since it benefited the farmers here by having cheap labor and the illegals would send money home in Mexico. It was a win/win until illegal immigration became an issue. Bush could have stopped it in his first term but he didn’t. Joe needs to blame the right person for all of the illegals. But the concept that Bush is at fault for many things is foreign to Joe just like thinking.

July 6th, 2009 at 7:22 pmIllegals!
It’s a nice stone to hide behind.
The truth of the matter is that most Mexican workers would be happy to enter the country–but we have arranged it so it’s completely impossible.
Oh sure, Mexicans can immigrate to the US–if they’re research scientists or doctors or civil engineers.
But what is the waiting period for an agricultural worker or construction worker?
Try forever. None are admitted. There’s no quota, and no procedure to enter the country legally, if what you bring is non-technical skills and a readiness to work hard.
When you scream about illegals, it sounds like you’re screaming about uninsured motorists or unlicensed plumbers. All very reasonable.
But if motor vehicle insurance is impossible to get, and licenses for plumbers are not being issued, it’s just a dodge.
We have a system that arbitrarily excludes via quotas–and we don’t like quotas, do we?–vast numbers of people who want to live and work in America. Who want to become citizens. Who want to raise their children here. They really have to want it bad, if they’ll put up with the bellowing racist crap white peoplespew at them every day.
The system obviously has work for them, but the government excludes them as undesirable. It encourages them to come here illegally and work for miserable wages–which is what businessmen want.
The law is wrong in principle and wronger still in practice. It’s nothing more than a monumental shakedown by sleazy corrupt border guards–just enshrined in law.
I live surrounded by Mexican families, and I can testify that Mexicans make great Americans. They’re polite, friendly, generous, full of joy, and cook better than we do.
And I really don’t understand all the moaning bout social security and too few workers per retiree, when all we’d have to do to improve that ratio is let in some Mexicans eager to pay into the system.
July 6th, 2009 at 7:50 pm“Joey the Plumber” was born in Dec of ‘73, so the big question is, Why hasn’t he joined the military and served in Iraq/Afgahn?

There is a lot missing in Joe’s history that really needs to be checked into, no fellow high school students saying “yeah I knew Joe when…” No fellow workers saying “he never left till the job was done…” No doctors saying he has a cyst and can’t enlist and support the troops on the front…” Lots missing.

Last time I checked, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright wasn’t affiliated with and made no appearances on behalf of either presidential campaign in 2008.

No comparison. Nice try.

July 6th, 2009 at 9:39 pmI don’t like JTP either, but he’s responding to the argument that the U.S. should have open borders because it’s impossible to not have open borders. That argument is as dumb as anything he’s come up with.
He’s a moron; what the excuse of the people who claim border control is a pipe dream?
Those supporting open borders (or near open borders) have some good arguments but the argument that it is so difficult to control American borders that the U.S. Government should not even bother is not one one of them.
We have the money and the means to humanely control our borders. If you think open borders is in the U.S.’s best interest or a moral imperative, say why.

July 6th, 2009 at 10:04 pmYeah, Joe, the military is a little busy right now occupying a country you neoCons bullshitted us into, finishing a fight your neoCon warlords virtually ignored for years, and quite possibly mobilizing for the next tiff – the one with the only member of your famed “axis of evil” that actually has the hardware and the inclination to lob missiles at us. So forgive the military if they don’t have those pesky Mexicans at the top of their to-do list.
Then again, Joe, maybe you can put on a uniform and head down to the barrio….

July 7th, 2009 at 3:30 amHis moment of 15 seconds of glory gone, Joe the Clown, err, I mean Joe the Kraut, is competing for food stamps with low pay hard working illegal immigrants.
Dudes like these are only fit to entertain the crowd. Just put him in a Germanic Nazi SS uniform and let parade around the streets. Shucks, illegal immigrants need to laugh too while working under stressful conditions in America feeding his fat face! On the second though, put a Nazi uniform on the mad kraut and Sarah Palin, the Alaskan she-moose (or is it mule) and let them parade around Republican political rallies. That should bring in some coins and better yet, laughs. After all, when they open their mouths, they provide good laughs not only for us, but for the rest of the globe.
Gosh, the world must think we are a nation of fools!

July 7th, 2009 at 12:48 pmI think Joe the Plumber is a complete idiot but it’s really obvious from the article that he was talking about ILLEGAL aliens.
I don’t like articles that use misleading BS in their titles, even if the person they’re reporting on is a jerk. Cut this out, TP. The purpose of language is to reveal and convey meaning and thought, not to be used it as a toy to alter reality. We had enough of that under Bush. If I want to be duped, I can listen to Fox news.

July 7th, 2009 at 2:24 pmJoe’s not too smooth with his words and those who wish only to castigate others for what they deem as hate only muddy an issue that needs a solution. According to recent expenditure data, if California wasn’t spending millions upon millions on non-citizens it would close its budget short fall. Spending millions on tracking down illegals trying to earn a living and deporting them isn’t the answer either. Border security, enhanced work place enforcement with penalties on employers, and international agreements need to be put in place. Those illegals who can’t find work will find their own way home and tightening the borders will reduce the flow of those hoping to get work. This huge economic and immigration issue didn’t develop over night and it won’t be solved over night, but getting the nation on a corrective path can and must be done soon.
July 7th, 2009 at 11:44 pmI’m no Joe the Plumber fan, but what he said was that illegal immigrants should get the hell out of our country…not immigrants. Let’s be accurate with the message.
Every employer who hires an illegal employee should face severe sanctions such as the $250K fines and potential imprisonment as do the consumers who buy or pirate illegal media products. These employers are using illegal pirated labor.
Selective enforcement of laws is unjust. We’ve only winked and failed to enforce our immigration laws because doing so makes capitalists wealthier, especially those that provide services that can’t be outsourced.
American workers in the USA deserve the right to compete only with legal American workers.
July 7th, 2009 at 11:44 pmHey Joe, you phoney. Seeing as you want all the illegal immigrants out of our country (You, BTW called it a DAMN country, you jerk)does that include all of the ILLEGAL Irish that walk the streets of Boston and NYC or is it just those that don’t have lily white skin like you do.
What would be be better for this GREAT country (not a DAMN one as you put it) would be if jerks like you left the country. What do you, as an individual, have to offer for the betterment of our great nation?
July 8th, 2009 at 1:16 amActually,

July 8th, 2009 at 4:09 amA better name for Joe the Wurzelbacker should be Joe the Neo-Nazi skinhead. Not only does he look like one, act like one, dances like one, but it fits the mold like one.
The old saying that if “it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck than it’s must be a duck” very much applies here.
