In Florida THEY WERENT, when they were if all valid votes were counted Al Gore won by any counting scenario. That is a pretty big difference. Franken won the the completed recount. The court merely declined to overturn the completed recount on behalf of Coleman, when he completely failed to produce any grounds or evidence for why they should do so.

The SCOTUS in 2000 overturned the election count, throwing out a number of eligible votes and stopping the recount before it was completed.

That’s a big difference there.
