FreedomWorks blogger inadvertently accuses Dick Armey of ‘smiley-faced fascism.’

On July 4th, FreedomWorks blogger Rossputin posted an essay called, “Happy Dependence Day,” in which he accused employees of GM, AIG, Citigroup, the Department of Education and lobbyists of being “the antithesis of this nation’s founding, the antidote to liberty and free markets, the source of the smiley-faced fascism which creeps further into our lives daily.” But as Chris Harris of Media Matters Action points out, by attacking lobbyists, Rossputin was inadvertently attacking the chairman of FreedomWorks, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, who is currently a lobbyist with the high-powered D.C. lobbying firm DLA Piper. Read a list of Armey’s lobbying clients here.

Dick Armey ………..Sounds like what the whole GOP should be referred to as……….

  5. kevsters says:

This is a bit off topic, but this clip is a must see. According to Mika Brzezinski, conservatives in this country are not having their voices heard.

You got to this, she is insane.

  7. Buckie Boy says:

Uh, we voted out the Republic Fascist Party last election…do try and come up with a name that fits…Fascist is totally owned by the Republics.

But maybe, as in our trolls here, he simply does not know the definition of Fascism.

  8. paleolib says:

Republican front groups don’t exactly hire based on IQ but in this case looks like the troll kind of got it right in part.

  9. okie dokie says:

So what would th antithesis of hypocrisy be?

  10. kasinca says:

Dick Armey is an ass clown.

  11. Roark says:

    Buckie Boy-

One of the key points of fascism is the implementation of corporatism. Yes, that same corporatism that has been practiced by not just the republicans but your beloved Barack Obama. A democrat calling a republican a fascist is tantamount to the kettle calling the pot black.

  12. Levi the Dungbeetle says:

While TP may be going a little far with this topic, Roark shows he does not understand why we call Republicans fascists.

Roark, if you think the pot is calling the kettle black, then you are just burying your head in the sand.

  13. Roark says:

I do understand and for the most part agree with you. However, that does not excuse the blatant, willful, ignorance of democrats acting in the same manner.

  14. ElBruce says:

The phrase “smiley-faced fascism” just puts California Uber Alles in my head. Anybody else getting that?

  15. Levi the Dungbeetle says:

There are some Democrats that are part of the same criminal organization that is the fascist Republican Party.

We will be removing several of these so called “blue dog” Democrats in 2010 and 2012 in the Democratic primaries.

For at least a generation, the Democratic primary will be more important than the general election, because Americans will not vote pro-torture.

  16. Roark says:

“For at least a generation, the Democratic primary will be more important than the general election, because Americans will not vote pro-torture.”

HAHA! Yes, because the #1 issue on Americans minds today is whether or not we torture. Oh wow, wake up! Yes, it may be a part of a platform but to point to an anti-torture stance and say it will be the guiding principle towards victory for any party for a generation is so incredibly…..dumb(no other word can possibly describe that thought process better).

  17. MapleStreet says:

I’m still trying to figure out the common thread that makes them link between GM, AIG, Citigroup, the Department of Education and lobbyists (and should I add the heartbreak of psoriasis ?)

    Roark Says:

It is true enough we have two wings of the business party. It is also true the GOP is worse than Democrats in their slavish devotion. Like Tim Robbins once said the difference between Dems and Repubs is the velocity with which their knees hit the ground when big business comes calling

  19. Levi the Dungbeetle says:

    Roark,

While you might think my opinion is “dumb”, it is the Republican Party that will have to lose the mantle of pro-torture if they ever want to regain power.

Worse than being pro-torture is the fascist direction the Republican Party has taken. Americans aren’t thrilled with socialism, but the vast majority of Americans hate fascism even more.

How can a political party prove it is not pro-torture and not fascist? It’s going to take a generation, at least. I really don’t think the fascist theocratic Republican Party can survive a generation in the minority.

The Republican Party is politically dead.

    LMAO, McMetal!

A momentary lapse of fantasy, I see.
