Very good point. However, it’s been my experience in the interwebs that when someone blames the Israel government, their defenders actually revert to defending their Jewish status.

Right. My point was that the posts I was responding to talked about Fayyad making Israelis wait at checkpoints and basically live the life of those suffering in the West Bank and Gaza. He’s not saying that. That was my only issue. I was certainly not meaning to imply that Israeli Arabs currently live a great life.

So my point is, the Israeli Arabs to which Mr. Fayyad refers are not those Arabs stuck at checkpoints in Palestine. He is saying that the Israelis who settle in the new state of Palestine will enjoy rights like the Israeli Arabs enjoy rights.

So the Bush administration, which illegally invaded, occupied and destroyed Iraq, a country that didn’t attack the US, nor did it have the means to do so, all because they just happen to have the world’s second largest supply of oil, was a LIBERAL administration?

As I understand it, the British did the same thing in Northern Ireland. Enticed settlers from Scotland (mostly Protestants) to repatriate across the Irish Sea as a means of gaining control over the people which they couldn’t win militarily.
