If you’d read the article, then I’m assuming you also read the NJ.com article they used as source they used that stated the money was preserving jobs in New Jersey. Hence, the people *are* seeing the money, so it *does* count.

While yes, there is still an issue of lack of jobs, the money given to the states for the stimulus package is at least not making the problem worse. As quoted in the NJ.com article, the stimulus *is* at least preserving jobs, even if it is not yet able to provide an overabundance of them. NJ’s unemployment rate would be much worse off without the money the US Government is giving them.

Well, it’s pretty simple. Building roads demands that people be employed to build them. I suppose it’s possible that the evil New Jersey legislature will only hire workers from outside the state but, such a claim would require documentation.

I don’t think individual posters accumulate positive or negative karma associated with their account. I think it’s just a way to rate individual comments to give people a reason not to read comments with strong negative ratings.
