Glenn Beck complains about softball questions to Sotomayor on day that no questions were asked.

Yesterday was the first day of the confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court. The day consisted of opening statements by Sotomayor and by each member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, but no actual questioning. Glenn Beck apparently wasn’t paying much attention. “As our country burns to the ground,” bellowed Beck on Fox News yesterday, “this is the questioning,” as he played clips of senators praising Sotomayor. Watch it:

I only read about that buffoon on different blogs. I would never waste my time watching his crap.

    Oh yea, Glen Beck KMAMF

No, for Beck to pay attention would be to imply that he functions like a journalist — he researches, fact-checks, etc. before spewing his bile to the masses.

I’m sure Beck had his script set up for yesterday well in advance. All that had to be dropped in were video clips of anybody saying anything complimentary about Sotomayor, to fit Beck’s agenda.

    Dear Mr. Beck,

What color is the sky in your world?

  6. Keith says:

Whatever happened to the King of Softball, Jeff Gannon? Did we ever find out how often he visited the White House?

  7. evangenital says:

Just another chubby soft angry middle-aged white guy in the repiggie swamp…

Another poster boy for erectile dysfunction…

    What’s new?

  8. spencers mom says:

Yes, they were such softball questions they were in the form of… opening statements.

What is this new obsession with balls, Glen? Magic undies getting too tight?

It doesn’t matter what order lies are said, they are still lies. Truth requires some respect to time.

  10. spencers mom says:

shoot! my ‘puter hit “post” without my help!

Who built the bonfire, who dumped the gasoline and who lit the match, Glen?

For the correct answer, go back in time to the prior administration.

    PEACE

  11. Marie says:

Glenn Beck is the Fox News court jester – an idiotic fool.

  12. Steppenwoof says:

Got to give credit to Fox, giving the mentally challenged a job like that. I wonder if they’ll hire my step-son who has Down Syndrome?

  13. Reggie says:

Beck used the talking points meant for today’s show one day early.

  14. paleolib says:

The voices in Glenn’s head must have been working overtime.

  15. evangenital says:

Someone named Glenn has been eating all the ho-ho’s.

dbadass, it got both an abuse and a vote down from me. This is good.

  18. Hoodathunktick says:

Looks like Glenn is getting his whining in early to avoid the rush.

Man, don’t compare downs kids with the beck, they have much more intelligence and compassion.

    PAX Mundo

  21. P.D. says:

I honestly belive Beck, Limpballs and O’Liely are going insane. Ever since Obama became Pres, they have been getting more paranoid and irrational. It is as if their entire belief system has been fundimentally broken. The fact that a black man and a Latina judge are in positions of power drives them crazy.

  22. evangenital says:

Glenn Beck is another in a legion of repiggie chickenhawks who refused to enlist in the military.

They strut around like Mussolini, full of bluster and “patriotic” fury, saluting this and that, issuing orders, plotting military strategies, deciding outcomes, thanking the hapless veterans for their service, and the like.

Angry conservative middle-aged guys with impotence issues are dangerous for the world.

Either you are psychic or you have a high IQ from eating a lot of fish?

  24. kpaul says:

How do idiots like this get their own shows? When I was in school, people who made these kinds of mistakes were given failing grades, and earned their place in society, which wasn’t all that great. Now, if you are willfully ignorant and have no command of facts whatsoever, it’s a thing to be proud of, and can help you achieve fame and fortune. These truly are Bizarro times.

  25. Gregor Samsa says:

I am not sure of Beck was trying to be sarcastic or what his point was -either way, he still an idiot.

  26. texasrick says:

Ok guy’s, if you could have 5 minutes to “discuss” (cough) your displeasure with any of the right wing-nuts, who would it be?

    Beck
    Billo
    Hannity
    Limpball

  27. evangenital says:

Glenn Beck, the Stormin’ Mormon of FoxNews, is currently shopping for his planet that he and his family will inhabit in the after-life.

Glenn and the Missus don’t want some cheap fixer-upper. They want Jupiter-size,
with a few extra moons, and quite close to a younger sun. They want a different galaxy than the Milky Way, because that sounds a little bit gay for them.

Is there anyone with any good leads on a planet for the Becks?

I would suggest Uranus, but there seems to be quite a waiting list for that one.

  28. Mike Hunt says:

Just another example of the Reichwing going bananas now that we have an adult in the White House. I wonder if these cretins lay in bed at night trying to come up with new bombast to outdo what they spewed the day before?

  29. glogrrl says:

Poor Glennie is just exhibiting the usual Rethuglican philosophy of “Ready, Fire, Aim!” You know, The Dickster’s “One Percent” philosophy? If there is a one percent possibility that Sotomayor might SAY something, ANYTHING, be ready to strike it down as racist and socialist. A “pre-emptive strike”, as it were. Can’t fault those Faux Noise dudes on their preparation, even if it is totally fictional–after all, their audience isn’t in the “reality-based community”!

  30. Briseadh na Faire says:

Is Beck as dumb as he is stupid? Or is he more stupider than dumber? This has to rank up there with one of the most stupiderest dumberest faux news fiction that I have ever heard about.

Does Faux not realize they are hurting the cause of advancing the neo-con agenda when they broadcast such stupiderest comments?

On the other hand, to give Faux the benefit of the doubt, maybe they’re just prepping their audience for the next incarnation of Sarah Palin…

  31. LibertyLover says:

I got the following from the Mudflats Blog. I thought that is appropriately describes Mr. Beck. Enjoy.

Harry Frankfurt, a philosopher who wrote an essay entitled “On Bullshit.”

“While the liar deliberately makes false claims, the bullshitter is simply uninterested in the truth. Bullshitters aim primarily to impress and persuade their audiences. While liars need to know the truth, the better to conceal it, the bullshitter, interested solely in advancing his own agenda, has no use for the truth. Bullshit is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are.”

How do idiots like this get their own shows?
    ___________________________________________________________

Simple. Television (even Fox News) is in business to make money. They really don’t care what crap they put on the air as long as a lot of people tune in, which makes ratings go up, which makes advertising rates go up, which brings in money.

So why Glenn Beck? There’s an idiot market out there. And advertisers just LOVE idiots, because a stupid, gullible audience is more likely to respond to their ads. Glenn Beck attracts idiots on a grand scale, because he’s either one of them or he’s a skillful performance artist who’s able to convince others he’s one of them.

  33. evangenital says:

Glenn Beck, like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, have never graduated from an accredited college or university.

They are “self-taught” in the broadest sense of the term.

Their audiences are as poorly educated, as unsophisticated and as arrogant as they are.

Stupidity is prized in our culture these days. The repiggie party has totally gone over to the Stupid, and cultivates stupidity like a crop.

  34. dasm says:

Beck is a lying bigot who cares nothing about the truth, as proved yet again by this item. And remember when he called his listeners “idiots”, saying listeners who believe what he says are, yes, “idiots”. The one time they didn’t believe him….

  35. Tachinidae Leporello says:

Glen Beck, Legend in his own mind.

  36. tom says:

Glen Bleeeech! is a tree short of a hammock.

However, the borderline morons are all on deck right now on FoxSnooze. Chief Bimbo Megyn Kelly is smugly carrying the water for Jeffy Sessions and the wingnuts. Little Chrissy Wallace and Nina (Airhead) Easton have been called to duty.

FoxSnooze is all over the Sotomajor hearings today. They must be scared sh!tless by this nominee.

  37. Zimzone says:

Did he cry during his ranting about Sonya & softballs?

I’d like to throw a 70mph softball right between his beady eyes.

  38. shoeless says:

“As our country burns to the ground,” bellowed Beck on Fox News yesterday,

Does Glenn Beck know that George W. Bush was caught with the matches?

  39. fletc3her says:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, he is that dumb.

  40. trevinla says:

“As our country burns to the ground,”

    Dude – Seriously????

Look around, that Ash is all the Bush/Cheney left behind of this once great country… We have to dig out all this detritus before we can even start thinking of rebuilding! Unfortunately Bushbama is more concerned with giving the few things left that are worth anything to the rich and powerful… and at the same time telling the rest of us to use the charcoal to draw pretty houses and jobs we’d like to have if we grow up…

  41. Buckie Boy says:

It’s because of the psychotic hallucinations of a delusional ReichWing alcoholic syndrome that makes Beck (the traitor) say absolutely stupid lies.

Plus the fact that his audience are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

    Fcuk the Republic Fascist Party

  42. tombaker says:

Hey Glenn – How’s that “surrounding them” thing working out??

Must’ve been eclipsed by the groundswell of Teabaggerism, huh?

You and Rush and your “grassroots operations” are truly a joke to behold.

  43. The Moderate Squad says:

    evangenital says:

Stupidity is prized in our culture these days. The repiggie party has totally gone over to the Stupid, and cultivates stupidity like a crop.

Evangenital (I love that monicker), once the Reich realized it was too stupid to argue that they aren’t big fans of the stupid, they tried to spin it into a virtue. Education is for “elitists,” while dumb is “American.” That’s why people like Ben Stein don’t write their speeches any more – they got tired of asking him what all the words meant. Easier just to redefine everything…

Thus, Glenn Beck redefines the “question.” Well, Glenn, here’s a question for you: Bite me.

  44. LeslieBurton says:

This guy is the definition of nincompoop. I hope Colbert comes up with yet another great parody on this guy.

  45. LizCoro says:

This idiot had to be in the ’straw hat’ class in school, really . .

  46. pete says:

Against all odds, Becky just gets more shrill and stupid. He’s reduced himself to a loud noise surrounded by meat.

  47. Mr. Sonia Herecomestheangst says:

Our nation is burning to the ground?

This coming from a psycho who pretended to burn one of his coworkers in effigy on live TV. No wonder Headline News let him go over to the dark side.

If I was Glenn, I’d try to consummate my marriage. That is why Mormons get married, correct?

  48. Rodeskawler says:

LMAO This guy is a moron.
