The Sotomayor hearing’s been making me CRAZY; esp with Senator Sessions’ embarrassing questioning of this uber-qualified candidate. I shudder and hang my head in shame when I think of my friends and other leaders around the world who may be watching.

I’m so relieved to find this forum and others who feel as I do… props for all the very clever (and dead on!) comments!

We’re blessed with such a great country and there’s room for so many points of view, but surely we can ALL do better than this bunch embarrASSments. PLEASE vote next time around! I wanna move to AL just so I can vote against Jeff.

Is SotoMayor getting angry at those inbreds, born and raised southern dumbasses hillbillies? Who can blame her. They are all beneath her intellectual capacity. It’s like talking to a bunch of dumb ass country hillbillies. Shades of the Beverly Hillbillies! Her intelligence far exceeds all of them put together. I just wonder what’s going in her head to respond to what I feel are elected pig bladders on a stick.

All of those republicans are phonies, liars, racists, hypocrites and fakes! They are the reason why the nation is like it is. Especially that Jeff Session fella. He talks, acts and looks like a real southern swamp ignorant hillbilly.

Serving with the Arm Forces back during the Korean War, I came across these dumn ass inbred southern hillbillies. I had more respect for the North Koreans than I had for these pieces of southern craps!

What is painfully apparent is that Sessions is twisting everything to make Sotomayor look racist. The rest of the Republicans on the committee should want to get this over because Sessions is not going to stop. He is a bitter white man who is taking out his anger on a judicial nominee rather than the Republicans and Dems who voted against him when he was nominated.

Someone in Session’s staff is going to have hell to pay for not reminding Sessions of the similar paths Sessions and Cedarbaum took until he was revealed as an unapologetic racist; and if that isn’t enough karma, it turns out Cedarbaum not only mentored Sotomayor, they are good friends.
(I say someone in his staff will pay because Beauregard doesn’t admit he is wrong, in error or mistaken – ever — a true Repugniscum: it’s always someone else’s fault.)

He just caught him in once again his own words against Sotomayor: race card. Ah duh, didn’t this nimrod Senator said in his opening statements yesterday that he was against Sotomayor because he felt she would make decisions on cases from her race and upbringing rather than the law????

Mr. Sessions has this post by reason of seniority. Not by respect for his judgment. In fact when he himself had his name submitted for her position, he was dumped for not being qualified enough for the position. So his being head of this committee is real irony. He is supposed to decide along with others, her qualifications.

This woman is brilliant. And now Specter and Graham must both vote yes on her qualifications as they did when she was made a judge a few years ago. She cannot all of the sudden be unqualified. Sessions cracks me up. He is not only racist in his comments but unqualified to judge her as he was to get the job she has now.

It would not matter how qualified she was. Or anyone else the President nominated. The Republicans will do as they have done for the last six months. They will say no to every single thing suggested by the Democratic President. As if empathy is something terrible. Even though one of the judges on the Supreme Court said at his hearing the very same thing. But of course he was a Republican and that’s different isn’t it? They continue to have total amnesia about what they say at any given time.

Being a racist means telling someone different from you WHO and WHAT they ARE, and insisting that they not deviate from your definition of them — by demeanor, accomplishments or even attitudes (e.g., being uppity).

How is Sotomayor, then, racist, while Sessions, who is trying to insist Sotomayor be “Puerto Rican like other Puerto Ricans” is not? Of course he is being the racist by this longstanding definition of racism.
