I don’t know, I think, “I refuse to answer,” is right crisp. What the Southern Gentleman is complaining about is the wise Latina’s good manners in politely demurring. Evidently Sen. Sessions has hit on “an excess of civility” as grounds for rejecting the nominee.

Of course, for Sessions, the real problem with Sotomayor is that the Senate voted some while back to let her wear a black robe & they told Sessions he would have to stick with his white robe — the one with the hood.

Unlike Sessions and Kyl and Graham and all the other wingnuts on the judiciary committee who are trying to create such a stir over a basically conservative choice by a basically conservative president.
