Beck on Obama: ‘This guy is dangerous!’

On his Fox News show this afternoon, Glenn Beck tried to stir fear and terror about the President of the United States among his right-wing followers. Beck’s guest John Bolton suggested now is the time to “stand up” to Obama because if he loses on health care, he’ll “begin to lose on other issues.” To which, Beck replied:

I’m telling you – this guy is dangerous. He’s never lost before. He won’t understand it. He won’t understand – look how – he, uh, is like, who are you to question me? I mean, this guy is practically an imperial president now. When he starts to lose and people start to question him and push him back against the wall, he’s not gonna know how to react.

Bolton said he found Beck’s warnings “optimistic” because the America people “will react even more strongly against” Obama. Watch it:

Beck’s dire prediction is of course similar to that of Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), who said, “If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.” Beck, whose show is quite popular, is feeding the sentiment of his right-wing base who are now urging each other to “to throw off and alter the abusive government by peacefully recalling and removing from office the President of the United States.”

No, no, Glenn Beck. John Bolton is dangerous. Give him an opportunity and John Bolton will start World War III all by himself. Imperial presidency? How about the kind of total facist imperial regime that Bolton thinks we are entitled to.

I suppose it keeps the dittosheep coming back for seconds though…

So , Obama losing , which means America and all Americans LOSE , too , is a-ok to these anti-American morons ?

What a pair of mindless mongrels……….

If beck had ever bothered to read about Obama he’d know the President once lost a congressional election.

  10. nerd532 says:

Factually wrong. From Wikipedia: “In 2000, he lost a Democratic primary run for the U.S. House of Representatives to four-term incumbent Bobby Rush by a margin of two to one.”

  11. hormiga brava chavez says:

Beck is not only a sick scumbag but dangerous. Beck and DeMint would rather see America destroyed than support Obama. I believe that rascism is a huge factor in why they want Barack Obama to fail. They can’t stand the fact that we’ve got an African-American for President.

a bit OT – and posted elsewhere – but this made me perk up:

i think he was attempting to make the argument, ’so it’s hard to imagine why obama is having such a hard time here’…

You know, we really haven’t heard anything about that delusional psyco who shot up those officers in Pittsburg. He was a Limbaugh and Beck listener and he was convinced the “Government” was going to take his guns. Wonder where he heard that?

  20. Luis Chapulin M says:

“Imperial president”? After 8 years of Mr. Unitary Executive Bush, and Beck defending him come hell or high water, he’s got no right to say anything about his current President.

And Bolton is just a paranoid psycho who won’t be happy until the rest of the planet perishes in a ball of thermonuclear fire. Except for the USA and Israel, of course.

This guy is unbelieveable! Obama hasn’t been able to accomplish near what he needs to because of the Grand Obstructionist Party. And where were you during The Decider’s reign of power, Becky boy?

  27. P.D. says:

I beleive that Republicans are truly delusional. They have to be told what to do and they thrive on fear. ANY fear. Whether it is a fear of other nations, fear of minorities, fear of change.Tthey seem to be stuck in a time warp in the fifties. The Cold War, nuclear threats, white suburbia. That is their ideal existence. Now it is gone, and they are falling apart.

  28. Bozo The Neoclown says:

” his right-wing base who are now urging each other to “to throw off and alter the abusive government by peacefully recalling and removing from office the President of the United States.”

and where in the constitution does it say this is permissable? that’s right, it doesn’t. what these traitors are promoting is sedition plain and simple.

  29. Mr. Cobb says:

“to throw off and alter the abusive government by peacefully recalling and removing from office the President of the United States.”

Seems he’s put the disclaimer “peacefully recalling.” It’s still a dog whistle for removing (by any means necessary) the lawful president the American voted for and that’s sedition.

  30. cmac says:

Don’t bother posting the tape – most of us can’t bear to listen to it. Beck is crazy. Or stupid. Or crazy stupid. I honestly wish he’d choke to death on his own saliva. And since he’s a sprayer of the first order, it could happen.

  31. Mr. Cobb says:

Don’t bother posting the tape – most of us can’t bear to listen to it.

I don’t listen or watch any of their idiocy anymore. I used to. Beck used to have a segment on his radio program where they would call in to different gas/convience stores on air asking geo-political questions of those who worked there and make fun of them because they didn’t know. Seemed really cruel. He was a foaming-at-the-mouth proponent of attacking Iraq prior to the Iraq war…not so much anymore.

    He’s a piece of sh*t.

  33. Mr. Cobb says:

  34. KayInMaine says:

If one of Beck’s supporters was able to launch a dirty bomb at the White House with President Obama there, Beck would spend his whole show gleeful and would say things such as, “Hey! This is what happens when Americans aren’t heard!”. Of course, for 8 years George Bush gave the finger to Americans, but yet, Beck didn’t seem to care. In fact, he rather enjoyed it. Then again, Beck and the other armed militia types enjoyed those 8 years and were gearing up for the next Democratic president to catapult their fake rage just so they can kill Americans with the guns they’ve had for years to shoot animals with!

I hate these people. They’re sick twisted freaks.

Every Valentine’s Day on Beck’s show, he does a contest where a male listener is chosen to adlib a Valentine letter to the guy’s wife, in which, Beck will call her while she’s at work or at home. Beck always tells these male callers…’before you tell her you love her…what I want you to do is….pause for 5 seconds before you say it, because it sounds that much more sincere!”.

And this is what Beck does best: HE FAKES COMPASSION BY PAUSING FOR 5 SECONDS ON HIS TV OR RADIO SHOW. Listen to him sometime, he does this often. Anyone who can fake compassion can start a CULT. The End.

  36. pags2 says:

  39. Wiz says:

So Beck says Obama will be unpredictable if he loses on health care that “he’s not gonna know how to react”? So I guess that means that Obama will be dangerous, ok does this mean that he will assume dictatorial powers? And Bolton comes back with people “will react even more strongly against” Obama, meaning what, when the dictator takes over the people will stage a new revolution? … Calm down fellows, you are have a right wing paranoid breakdown. I really think you should support health care you obviously need some mental health care. If what they are really saying is that if Obama loses on health care reform he will be broken, as DeMint says, and therefore unpredictable, as Beck says, then wouldn’t it be a good idea not to F___ with President of the United States, you know the most powerful person in the world?

  40. pbeeg says:

    Well, he’s right.
Dick Cheney and John Yoo and Tom Delay spent a lot of work setting that Imperial Presidency up. Warrantless wiretapping, the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, the nuclear option–a wonderful machine that marginalizes the minority.
thing is, they really didn’t give two hoots about real-world outcomes. They thought they could war-profiteer their way through Iraq, conduct John Galt experiments with college Republicans and Bernie Kerik, and still win. They thought they could fart around on Katrina and let the poor black people stew in their own juices, and the rescue would still happen. They thought they could bleed the middle class white and still rely on them to pay their mortgages so they could play games with financial instruments based on them.

And after all that work setting up that imperial presidency, and deploying the giant blow-up Osama Bin Laden doll to scare the livestock, they started getting hammered at the polls. ‘But that’s impossible!” they said. We control the media! We have the money! 9-11!”

And they lost the presidential election to a black man with an Ay-Rab name.

No wonder they’re scared. They built the Giant Ultra-Fascisto Lambda Ray projector–and the skinny black guy just walks in and takes it! With all its power!

Of course, they also managed to lose practically every election they entered since 2006, but never mind that. Never mind that if it had just been Obama, they could deal with him, if they hadn’t lost congress like an ice cube on a waffle iron. Better to focus on ‘Barry’.

And of course their worst nightmare is staring them in the face. He’s holding the Big Gun. He has all the power that by rights should be theirs. And, horror of horrors, he’s in danger of using it effectively. Solving problems instead of just letting them hemorrhage. Building things up.

You have every reason to be scared Glenn. He’s the most dangerous man alive.

If Beck had pulled his head out of his butt on election day in 2008, he would realize that President Obama is doing exactly what he promised to the American voters. We voted for Barack Obama to make changes and that is exactly what he is doing. Too bad and too sad for Beck. He can get on board with change or he can be left behind.

She’s insane, losing her mind, and as of right now this is normal behavior for her, so don’t pay attention to her. LOL!

But of course you will just blame Bush for Obamas failure, par for the course for libs.

I remember the press absolutely orgasmic with affection for our war president Georgie in the run up to the Iraq occupation. I also remember a press (all forms: written/radio/tv) that applauded & cheerleaded Georgie’s mess for years! And when Georgie said, “Gawd told me to attack Iraq”, suddenly there was lots of religious talk on all the news channels!

It was pathetic. Disgusting actually. After the 2006 election, the media changed (Fox didn’t of course or did Tom Brokaw or Brian Williams!) by finally realizing what a bunch of bozos they were! I’m telling ya….I would have been completely embarrassed by myself if I had been one of them. Instead, I rallied against George online starting in 1999! And haven’t let up either. LOL Just because that little bastard is out of office doesn’t mean he’s not-guilty of the crimes he committed (and Dickey too!).

  69. pete says:

Slander is not protected by the Constitution, stupid troll. I object to lies and false accusations being sold as “news” or entertainment. And, in my inexpert opinion, calling our President is “dangerous” or saying “he must be stopped” constitutes slander, at best, and treason at worst.

It will no doubt shock you that I have the strongest respect for all our legal institutions. And some of our laws are designed to prevent sedition and revolution. That’s even why we get to vote.

I can point to a half a hundred clips of Becky committing slander, if not treason, beginning with the one linked here. But all he has to support his slander, if not treason, is a bunch of whiny crap he made up or misrepresented or just can’t comprehend in his addled fog. He’s proven unworthy of the tremendous privilege he’s been granted.

  93. tbone says:

    luvlylib:
Nice link to Malkin there. I was surprised to discover, however, that it really doesn’t support your argument too well. Of the 3 examples Malkin cites, One instance is of Canadians. A second instance is of a Green Party candidate saying they would like the people that tried and convicted Pinochet of war crimes to do the same with Bush and in that case capital punishment is ok with him. Interestingly, that sounds like advocating the implementation of a legal process, not assassination as Malkin suggests. The third instance is Cindy Sheehan – who lost a son in a war she feels is unjust. Not hard to imagine she has some pretty strong feelings against Bush. But it should be pretty obvious that her approach to “killing Bush” is a little unlikely when it relies upon a time machine to be successful.

  94. okie dokie says:

Yes,luvly lib. We are all quite sick here.

Sick of seeing a corporately motivated propaganda media manipulate the mind of the American public with lies and fear.

Angry that with motives of nothing but greed, that have divided American loyalties intentionly, to obstruct peace and progress in our country.

And knowing that they have, and still are, agressively pursuing these actions, with malice towards all that do not agree or submit in apathy, we are sickened.

And we are particularly sickened at the possibility that this obvious treason may be protected by law, after the manipulation of our constitution with the Homeland Security
Act, or other legal gymnastics implemented by the Bush/Cheney corporate jesus war cult.

    So who’s crazy here?

Us, the angry, betrayed, free thinking believers of a productive, compassionate, democratic society?

Or the poor, trusting, distracted sheep that find it easier to fall in line with the well planned rhetoric of high-end political whores?

Trying to get us out of Iraq and a war that was started on lies. Trying to establish positive relationships with other countries. Supporting the troops in a positive way–NOT calling for the death of a captured American soldier. Yeah, that sounds awful. We should be spanked. I apologize to you for trying to fix the HUGE mess Pres Bush created. I apologize for electing a competent, compassionate, intelligent President. Beck, whose show is quite popular, is feeding the sentiment of his right-wing base who are now urging each other to “to throw off and alter the abusive government by peacefully recalling and removing from office the President of the United States.”

This is the same clown who thought George W. Bush was an inspired leader for his entire term, plus some.

Glenn loses his connections to the White House and he throws these hissyfits that people call a “popular” television show. Then he gets all empathetic and sympathetic when sweeps hits, because a good Republican knows when to cry on cue.

All in the name of dissent and rebellion now, of course. Because we all should have stayed in lock-step and kept the whole 9/12 going to make the red, white and blue the world’s favorite colors…no matter what!

Ghost of a Brain must have attended school under a Republican president, when education was underfunded. Ghost, your spelling stinks, and you know nothing about punctuation. BTW, I recall the Busheviks complaining they inherited a recession from Clinton, though he actually left office with a budget surplus that was soon squandered away by Dumbya and company.

    Ghost-of-a-Brain says:
it is so funny how you all blame Bush for the economic problems we are haveing(SIC) today, yet you all seem to forget that the Dems took control of the house and senete (SIC)back in 06, if his spending was a problem why did they not stop him then.

  145. Lora says:

    LoonyLib,
I was living overseas and had never even heard of Glenn Beck until I read his statements expressing hatred of 9/11 victims and calling residents of Katrina-hit New Orleans “scum.” His hate talk reaches millions; nobody posting here wields that kind of influence.

Ghost Walker373 doesn’t know any better. He’s a useful idiot for the oligarchs. But there are other wingnuts who should know better but don’t care because they are sociopaths. About 1 in 5 Americans are now sociopaths. Together, they make up that very determined 25%.

After years of observation, that’s what I have concluded.

    Americani Moronis

It is impossible to point out facts to the lunatic fringe ( Beck, Limbaugh,Hannity, etc). The problem rests with the American people. They need to be willing to look beyond cable tv and radio talk for information.Iam not certain that most will take the time to do that.If the rational, thinking public do not, then we will be in big trouble.

  152. bsober says:

I can absolutely see where this fear mongering will go if not stopped. The president will not be in eminent danger from the whack jobs who WILL do the bidding of Beck, Limbaugh, Bauchmann, Palin ect. but the volunteer (and there are many of us) who will be out in full force in 2010 and 2012. I have an uneasy feeling that somewhere a little old lady, college student, union member, knocking on a door, wearing a campaign button, or sporting a bumper sticker in the next election cycle will be subject to a brutal and possibly deadly attack from someone not so stable who takes to heart the rantings of these despicable and hateful scumbags. I agree the F.C.C. must act, this is definitely akin to yelling FIRE in a crowded movie theater.

  153. labman57 says:

  156. maxamillion says:

Shouldn’t someone take a ball bat to the back of Glenn Beck’s head like Capone did in that movie I saw the other night? Do to him what we do to horses..send him to the glue factory. This guy is a total waste of his dad’s goo.

  157. EdgeOnIt says:

Doing something new or for the first time, always poses risks; we are in effect, instituting the first, and lasting constitutional democracy utilizing an economic system of limited capitalism!? Sounds impossible, since the world’s history is replete with ’snake oil salesmen’ characters, completed covens of bogus ‘get rich quick’ con-artists, as well frightening and absolutely untrue stories of ‘cut-throat’ gypsies!? And so the media shakes things up, with lies and userpations, and picks up the pieces afterwards. But, why do we deserve collective punishment? For example, if a few per cent out of our population are confused about sexuality, are we to the last man, ‘meant to be had’?? Should we be considered as a Godless country in the eyes of the world, because the opposite may be true??

  158. EugeneDebs says:

We don’t need to be told over and over that we are sick and full of hatred, particularly when the topic of the thread is hate-monger Glenn Beck. You were voted down, but your comments can still be viewed. I gather that RedState and other rightwing blogs ban anyone who writes a contrary opinion.
