We live in Bates County MO, of which Butler is the county seat. We live about 30 miles away from Butler, and we shop there on occassion. This county is not a bad place to live, but it is very rural. I do not, and will not, own a gun, period, and as badly as I need a newer vehicle, I wouldn’t accept one from Maxx motors if they handed me the keys and title. I see their signs and ads, and until now had nothing against them, but what they are doing is wrong and I sincerely hope they are made to stop this madness immediately.

Sigh, so many MANY things wrong with this country. I think it’s time to start moving around the country accordingly. People, we should start flocking to consistently blue states and secede. No, it’s not “defeatist.” It’s smart.

Let “conservative america” tear itself apart, as we watch from a safe distance.

When you have a country with two groups of people who are just such POLAR opposites, you can’t advance. It’s a tug-of-war where the two sides are just deadlocked. Time to go separate ways, methinks…

I have two crossbows, a pepper spray gun, and next spring I’ll be getting a brown healer. Am looking into burglar bars for the windows.

Not one to make a lot of noise in the name of self-defense.

When I lived in Germany, they had laws that made victims of crimes partially responsible for theft, when they failed to secure their goods. If you car was stolen, for instance, and you left the keys in the ignition and the windows down, you’re partly responsible. I think that’s wise.

If you’re going to offer advice, Slappy, make it good advice. Any law enforcement or military expert will tell you that the best weapon for home defense is a 12 gauge pump/auto shotgun. That way you have the firepower to down every bad guy in the room, in the dark, without so much worry about blowing away your own kids in the next room or neighbor two houses down the block.

A rifle, even an American assault rifle, doesn’t even compare.

These pieces of crap are not Kalashnikov’s by any stretch….their semi-auto copies made in Hungary, Romania or Yugoslavia (if your lucky you might get a Egyptian MADDI) best that you trade it in on a good Chinese Norinco or American made model.

The worse case scenario is for example the dealership hands the buyer the gun w/o b/g check, buyer turns out to be a heroin dealer and uses said AK to murder cops and anyone who gets in his way. But then again, repuke wingnuts savor that like expensive wine. This can actually happen.

Supposedly the buyers are getting a voucher for the gun until the background check is completed. If memory serves, the dealer himself is not the one the buyer gets the gun from.
