Jindal takes credit for stimulus, presents constituents with jumbo-sized stimulus check.

Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) reemerged on the national stage yesterday, penning an op-ed in the Politico to slam efforts to reform health care and declaring the Economic Recovery Act a failure. Jindal declared the Recovery Act “a nearly trillion-dollar stimulus that has not stimulated.” However, less than 24 hours before Jindal published his op-ed, Jindal traveled to Anacoco, Louisiana to present a jumbo-sized check to residents of Vernon Parish. The funds included hundreds of thousands of dollars directly from the Recovery Act — at least $157,848 in Community Block Grant money authorized by the Recovery Act and $138,611 for Byrne/JAG job training programs created by the Recovery Act. Rather than credit the federal government or the Recovery Act he opposed, Jindal printed his own name on the corner of the massive check. View it below:

Jindal presents stimulus check

Jindal was one of the GOP governors who opposed the Recovery Act and he succeeded in blocking money for unemployment compensation.

Usually you have to spend a good portion of something before you see a return. It’s like me putting $1,000 into a $500,000 house and wondering why I can’t move in yet.

I can never logically think about these people. It hurts.

Poor hicks don’t realize how Jindal’s played them for suckers. And they’ll vote for him next time, referencing how much he did to get the stimulus funds.

    Geeze.

  23. majii says:

If Jindal thinks the gopers are accepting of him, he’d better think again. He’s darker than BHO, so what should just that fact tell him? Jindal, Steele, Blackwell, Fisher, Christie, and Elder are all looking for something from the gopers that they’ll never get. They’ll get used and discarded like a snot-filled tissue. This knowledge comes from being born in the south, while living as an African American. Look at how Steele prostitutes himself for the gopers everyday, and never gets tired of looking like a fool. He’s head of Dummy, Inc.

Man, The Party of No hypocrites are being exposed for who they are everyday. When re-election and/or a run for President in 2012, I hope that the voters in Louisiana remember Bobby Jindal’s hypocrisy. How in the world can Jindal run this countryvas President when he is playing politics as usual and allocating and taking credit on the stimulus money that he flat out was against it in his own state. That pic of Jindal should be on ad in 2012 should Jindal decides to run as Prez.

WOW!! This is rapid even for the repubs.

Yesterday, stocks went up on several businesses turning in better than expected reports that economists say could signal the recession ending in the Fall.

Less than 12 hours later, Jindal has fogotten his stand and is taking credit.

Next we are to find out that he invented Ice and Sliced Bread while on the way to the moon.

  30. Hoodathunktick says:

It is sort of touching that Bobby wants to be just like Ed McMahon if he grows up.

  31. DallasNE says:

What else is wrong with that picture? Oh, only 1 women and 12 men. Jindal look to be the only non-white of the group as well. How did the size of that check compare to, say, the 9th Ward?

  34. Virtual Pebble says:

    Plagiarize much, Bobby?

Oh crud. Sorry. This isn’t a case of plagiarism. Plagiarism is likely how Bobby made it through university. This is just a simple credit grab by a weaseling turd.

Maybe the folks whose unemployment insurance he’s declined for them should go to Baton Rouge and camp out at his home and office.

  35. spencers mom says:

Jindal is an anchor baby. His mother was pregnant when she arrived on U.S. soil.

He looks even more like Kenneth the Page when he stands there holding a Publisher’s Clearing House-sized check.

    PEACE

  36. linkwray says:

Hey, Bobby Jindal; if you’re not part of the solution then you’re in on the Repugs’ swindle. But what the heck, forge your name on the check, the people who vote for ya will think your a redneck. Skim some from the top, slap down some blacks, but pass 15% on to your friends: you know their names because they’re all your political hacks.

Unfortunately most people in LA won’t even know about his hypocrisy. The local newspapers only report what looks for Jindal and the conservative controlled MSM won’t be reporting on his hypocrisy. Only the people in LA who ready liberal blogs will ever even know about it.

  39. misscoleopteramolly says:

I had a dream recently that both houses of Congress passed a comprehensive health care reform bill and President Obama signed it into law. No Republican in either house voted for it, and it passed without them.

With a public option, most of the 49 million uninsured in our country were able to get health insurance. Some private insurers went bust — the rest streamlined their operation and competed successfully with the public option. The result was that everybody got more bang for their health insurance buck. Employers’ bottom lines improved because they weren’t having to pay so much for insurance for their employees, and were able to hire more people, lowering unemployment rates everywhere. Productivity improved as people were able to stay healthier with the help of regular doctor visits and wellness programs. The entire economy improved, because people now had more disposable income to spend.

And in 2012, Republican candidates running for re-election took credit for affordable health insurance, lower unemployment, increased housing starts, and the improved economy.

Then I woke up. It was just a dream.

But now I’m willing to bet in 2012 we are going to see a lot of Republicans doing exactly what Bobby Jindal is doing now.

The public interest groups in favor of Obama’s plans should get involved and expose the lies with ads on local stations. TV stations are happy to take everyone’s money. This tactic should be used in every state where Republicans came out against the stimulus. The voice over can point how Republicans are talking out of both sides of their mouth and throw a plug in for health care.

The very first (and ONLY, so far) comment to it notes that the funds were from the stimulus. Join in and make sure this doesn’t get swept under the rug!

Bilbo Hussein Baggins is right. Jindal’s (and Vitter’s) poll figures in Louisiana bode very well for them in future elections. No surprise, considering Louisiana’s last or next-to-last position in every survey regardling quality-of-life issues – especially education.

  57. darnay says:

Jindal can kiss my Black Ass !!

  58. chattemr says:

Piyush Jindal belongs in the ranks of some of the lowliest human species. This is a kind that manages to become rather prominent by pandering to the Master Race (please do no see this as merely a Black vs. White issue; this is representative of the lower human tendencies everywhere). The House Slaves did it; the Kapos did it; many of the so-called Black Republicans do it. This tendency is based on currying favors with the Master in order to advance certain personal ambitions.

Piyush Jindal, like fellow persons of Indian origin, Dinesh D’Souza and Ramesh Ponnuru, is the Indian equivalent of Clarence Thomas and Condi Rice. Remember always, the Masters will absolutely love you for speaking pure BS on their behalf. They have untold stashes of money to lavish on you- if only you help them show to the world that they are not vicious racists, classists, and soulless profiteers. Along the way, if you disown your own people, discredit your background, and speak the language of the Master- well, your career is guaranteed.

I am confident that some deep down decency within human nature truly abhors such behavior. Notice- in India, the land of great fables, there was the story of the Jackdaw with Peacock Feathers. No one would properly care for Quislings. Or House Slaves. Lubricating authority for personal gains is revolting to decent human nature.

Piyush Jindal has prospered much by transforming to his occidental identity, right down to his religion. But I have the confidence that history will judge this Jackdaw with Peacock Feathers differently. It should perhaps not be any surprise, as I have stated in other places, that there are oxymorons like Indian Republicans much the same as Black Republicans. It is, after all, human nature.

  59. AmericanTeacher says:

If there are any doubts about the Louisiana sheeple’s opinion of Jindal, let me clear it up:

I was at a graduation down there in May. He received a standing ovation from an arena full of people. They love him.

BTW – I was shocked to see how depressed it was down there – a lot of vacant businesses boarded up, and at that time, he was still trying to reject some of the money. They love him.
