Racist Former Cop Mark Fuhrman Calls Racial Profiling An ‘Ignorant’ Myth

Last night, Fox News’ Sean Hannity discussed whether President Obama has “alienated police” because of his recent comments on the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates. To investigate the issue, Hannity invited former Los Angeles police detective Mark Fuhrman.

Fuhrman is best-known for having been convicted of perjury stemming from his testimony on the witness stand in the O.J. Simpson murder trial when he lied about having made racist remarks in the past. Fuhrman was subsequently investigated by the L.A. Police Department and found in 1997 to have been allowed to “act out his prejudices” toward minorities and female cops while serving as a police officer.

Fuhrman declared “Sgt. Crowley has absolutely nothing to apologize for. Professor Gates has everything to apologize for. And the president should publicly apologize to Sgt. Crowley for his comments.” Fuhrman went on to tell Hannity that Gates “hindered” Crowley’s investigation, “challenged him, assumed he was racist solely because he was white,” and warned that’s how “riots start.” Hannity then asked whether Gates was guilty of racial profiling:

HANNITY: What does it say about Professor Gates? Is he the one that racially profiled here?

FUHRMAN: First, there’s no racial profiling. That’s the most — that’s the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard anybody say.

HANNITY: Did he have a racial predisposition?

FUHRMAN: He couldn’t have a racial predisposition unless somehow the radio gives him pictures of people before he gets there.

Watch it:

Fuhrman said on Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes two years ago that the “people” he “dealt with…for 20 years” will “kill somebody and go have some chicken at KFC.”

    – - Wow, for those of us living in the north San Fernando Valley, seeing Fuhrman is a real blast from the past.

  5. WaltB says:

OK, I’m white. I’m 65 years old. This AH was proven to be a racist years ago and lost his case based on that as much as anything else. He’s got profiling so ingrained into his skull that he can’t understand why anyone would think it isn’t what everyone should do! Why even listen to him?

  6. RantingTommy says:

About the video link i posted:

NFL Player Ryan Moats — a running back for the Houston Texans — sped his car toward Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano. But when the Moats arrived at the emergency room parking lot, they were stopped by Dallas Texas Officer Robert Powell who stopped him from seeing his dying Mother-In-Law, becuase he ran a stop sign.

  7. RantingTommy says:

Mark Fuhrman is so incompetent, he could not even frame a guilty man.

  8. dargumedo says:

Dear Lord–who the hell decides to get Mark Fuhrman to comment on an issue of race?!? Wow…

  9. whirlaway says:

In that “kill somebody and go have some chicken at KFC” comment, Fuhrman also mentions having a beer.

Now, is there any KFC that serves beer too? Not that I know of!

Why didn’t he say, “”kill somebody and go have some beer” or “kill somebody and go have some beer and pizza”? Why did he have to mention KFC specifically?

And THIS guy goes around saying that there’s no such thing as racial profiling?!

  10. gummble-bee-itch says:

I guess Hannity will be asking the question of David Duke next.

I love this logic, though: FUHRMAN: He couldn’t have a racial predisposition unless somehow the radio gives him pictures of people before he gets there.

What does that even mean? The cop can’t be profiling someone unless he does it before he gets out of the squad car? What?

  11. kevsters says:

    What an unbiased opinion.

Here is just another reason to believe that Hannity can’t read.

Having Mark Furhman debunk racial profiling is like Count Dracula debunking the existence of vampires.

Mark Fuhrman? Where did they dig this guy up? Why can’t he hide his head in shame and leave the limelight? Jeez! Only Faux News would give this guy a platform.

Someday’s there are things that are said by some people that are so egregious, so asinine, so damn stupid, so maddening, so frustrating, that they deserve no response, today happens to be one of those days, and Mr. Fuhrman is one of those people. Have at it, I’m too tired.

Seems as though Furhman and Crowley should be the ones having a beer together. They seem to have a lot in common.

This guy literally made the ‘Racist Hall of Shame’.

  20. Megaloptera McWars says:

Sean Hannity knows how to bring on the bigots. Talk about the wrong idea of giving others a second chance.

  21. tuckgraph says:

When Der Furhman says, “He couldn’t have a racial predisposition unless somehow the radio gives him pictures of people before he gets there,” he’s either ignorant of the facts or trying to mislead. In the police report, Sgt. Crowley says that the lady who made the original call told him that two black men with suitcases had gone inside the home. That’s one of the big problems. Lucia Whalen is emphatic that she never said anything about race. She made a point of not saying anything about race. The question is, why did Crowley put that in his report? The whole thing is twisted!

  22. djheru says:

    Mark Furhman ?

Did David Duke have a scheduling conflict/prior engagement ?

  24. Xisithrus says:

FUHRMAN: He couldn’t have a racial predisposition unless somehow the radio gives him pictures of people before he gets there.

Quite illogical as its natural for people to imagine what MAY be awaiting them. Did Gates imagine black, brown, white or yellow people breaking into the home? Maybe he imagined a gang of rabid lawn elves? Maybe he thought the ladt who called in was seeing things. Did he imagine mutant ninja turtles? And if he did does he hate mutant ninja turtles?

  25. oldfuzz says:

Is Mark Furman, discredited witness for the prosecution, the new standard in police standards? Of course there is racial profiling, but it is not universal, it is individual and within certain groups just as there is racial, gender, sexual orientation and age profiling except we call it discrimination.

  26. Zooey says:

Fuhrman knows what racist looks like — he sees it everyday in the mirror.

  27. Marie says:

If anyone could recognize a racist, it would be Fuhrman.

  28. dasm says:

Fuhrman is a PROVEN racist. A hateful, disgusting racist. How can he ever, I mean EVER comment on racism again?? Oh, wait, it’s Fox “news”.

  29. Arctic Ghetto says:

Fuhrman is the classic Fox News guest; racist and incompetent. Here is a man drove around LA for two days with blood evidence before turning it in. Hannity and Fuhrman go well together on the screen. Its kinda like its meant to be. The glad hander and his racist muse.

  30. MapleStreet says:

What journalist of any merit would choose such a strongly biased guess ?

  32. superid says:

Somebody needs to get a hold of the transcripts of the interviews Fuhrman did with that writer. I can’t believe the Manatee had him on. Then again…

  33. kewe65 says:

hilarious – the mannity actually tried to bait a racist into calling gates a racist and couldn’t do it. i love it how furhman unintentionally avoids hannity’s question through denial of profiling.

  34. pags2 says:

Wow. A racist perjurer talking about racial profiling has to be a new low for Hannity.

  35. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    dargumedo says:

Dear Lord–who the hell decides to get Mark Fuhrman to comment on an issue of race?!? Wow…

    Um, another racist?

  36. DallasNE says:

Interesting that Fox News would pull Mark Fuhrman out of the woodwork to comment on a case where the police officer has displayed some traits common with those of Mark Fuhrman himself. I would think they would want to leave that stone unturned unless they want to keep the issue alive from the backlash this will stir up.

  37. Jackie says:

Furhman the cop who took the 5th under oath after lying is truly one we can believe now. I told you the racist were coming out of their hole and spreading the lies as fast as possible. Mark Furhman had no problem dating a black woman, but I guess that doesn’t count as being racist. It’s just black man have to be beaten down like slaves.

    • From the US Department of Justice

    • Lifetime chances of a person going to prison are higher for
    – men (11.3%) than for women (1.8%)
    – blacks (18.6%) and Hispanics (10%) than for whites (3.4%)
    • Based on current rates of first incarceration, an estimated 32% of black males will enter State or Federal prison during their lifetime, compared to 17% of Hispanic males and 5.9% of white males.

  52. LeslieBurton says:

How do people sleep at night after watching a hour of Hannity five times a week? He’s just plain disgusting as are his guests. And to think those same people wake up to Fox and Friends.

  53. cybershot says:

Crowley was right in this case. He responded to a possible burglary call and did what every officer is suppose to do. Gates,? however, has a chip on his shoulder and felt he’s above being questioned by a white officer. Obama was wrong when he remarked about it without knowing all the facts. Obama, Eric Holder Prof. Gates, Rev. Wright and Sotomayor are perfect examples of racists. Disorderly conduct gets you a free ride to JAIL!

  54. woke says:

Someone needs to read the constitution and learn their rights.
Then support those who exercise those rights.

Gates did not break the law. He may have been rude, but that’s not against the law in your own house. Sorry for those who think it is…but bit isn’t, .hence the charges were dropped.

Crowley broke the law several times and misrepresented the 911 caller’s statements in his report….

    1. Crowley entered the home uninvited.
    2. Crowley refused to give his name/badge number
    3. Crowley took Gates’ ID out of the home to bait Gates out of his home, after Gates had already stated he didn’t want to leave (his right)
    4. Crowley arrested Gates

All these actions were against the rights Americans hold under the Constitution and our laws.

Those who choose to not understand and not support those rights, should not expect others of us to give them up.

Many fought and died for these rights. It amazes me how people are so willing to give up their rights and denigrate others who refuse to do so…
