The AP reports that Lou Dobbs has “become a publicity nightmare for CNN, embarrassed his boss and hosted a show that seemed to contradict the network’s ‘no bias’ brand. And on top of all that, his ratings are slipping.” Dobbs, who has given favorable coverage to the “birther” conspiracy, is forcing CNN President Jon Klein to offer untenable defenses of his conduct:
Klein said Dobbs does a smart newscast that explores issues that get little in-depth attention elsewhere, such as trade with China, health care funding and the stimulus plan. He suggested Dobbs’ CNN work is unfairly lumped in with his unrelated radio show, and that he’s judged on the show he did a couple of years ago, when Dobbs became a political target for his campaigning against illegal immigration.
Media Matters notes that Dobbs’ “smart newscast” is a regular fount of misinformation. Moreover, Klein’s claim that Dobbs’ radio show is “unrelated” to his TV show is false. Media Matters also reports that Dobbs frequently promotes his CNN show and hosts his CNN colleagues on his radio show.
Dobbs show is nothing but an hour of Blame immigrants for everything and ‘don’t touch my guns’.
It’s the wing nuts hour of power.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:18 pmDobbs is more a nightmare for products like PoliGrip/Fixodent/Sea Bond claiming they work …..
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:20 pmMy goodness me! Without the likes of Dobbs and Buchanan, who would be left to voice the opinions of the white, fat, rich, Republican, under-represented, white men in the media?
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:20 pmHas Lou Dobbs proved to Americans that his wife is not an illegal alien using her vault birth certificate yet?
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:23 pmThis birther idiocy is without a doubt the stupidest bag of baloon juice I have ever seen. It is an embarassment even to a rightwing that uses idiocy as a staple
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:33 pmIt seems to me that Dobbs needs to decide whether or not he is a journalist or a pundit.
If he wants to be serious about his job, he needs to drop the radio show and give CNN 100% of his attention.
If he would rather pay attention to the smaller stories and rile up conservative values, then he ought to stay in radio and hand in his resignation to CNN. If he stays in both, he will just be viewed as another Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity.
One or the other, Lou. Asking for both will guarantee you’ll end up working at Fox.

August 2nd, 2009 at 1:40 pmEvery time Lou pops up on my tube I switch channels; same goes for Katie Pilgrim.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:46 pmthat is a load of bull……if Dobbs was attending anti-Jew rallies on his own time he’d be fired in a second.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:46 pmOpinion is opinion and Dobbs can get away with that part of it, but he (and his fellow blow hards) misinforms, grossly slants, and generally tells lies. Then his employer should take action. Suspend or fire him! He can then go to Faux which is mainly/ only wingnut opinion.

August 2nd, 2009 at 1:48 pmI believe Murdoch’s three stooges and fat boy Linbaugh will kindly fill in the gap.
What I think is interesting is the rating slip of Dobbs. The recent truce between NBC and Murdoch may well illustrate a turning point.
The public is getting tired of the cheap shots and shoddy news reporting in general. I hope the trend continues.
His ratings are slipping for showing bias?
He needs to take some lessons from Fox News: you cant come out with blatant bias – you need to stage interviews with your preferred ideologues and ask loaded questions to opponents. (And dont forget about biased chyrons)
Ta-Da!!!
Wasn’t that easy, Lou?
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:51 pmI wonder if dobbs regrets going on and on with this birth certificate crap. If he does than good for him. Hes a racist, and like all racists they deserve to be treated like the losers that they are.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:55 pmYou have to believe that when the camera is off that even Lou Dobbs says “I cant believe that there are people this damn dumb who believe the shit I say, it cant be this easy”. Yep, it is Lou, they call them Southern, Midwestern, Western, and Eastern Repuppetcans and Dixiecrats, and they love you and all who are like you, good job exposing them though, thanks.

Has Lou Dobbs checked his background to see his family’s immigration status to the States? it was okay for his family to come and occupy the nation but he has extreme reservations of others now repeating the acts that his forefathers undertook. it’s his lack of esteem that makes him comment on matters that he or his family has committed. To call the elected President a non-citizen in spite of the State officials of Hawaii repeatedly claiming to the contrary conveys his lack of objective in a worthless issue. That CNN still values an ignorant bliss like Doubbs is a matter of concern. The world has issues and we have to find solutions but standing up to utter nonsense isn’t the solution.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:58 pmDobbs looks like a giant baby, all he needs is Vitter’s diapers.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:59 pmF@#k CNN the most twisted name in news. At least FOX doesn’t pretend to be a real “News” outlet.
Many of these talking heads were at one time just a bunch of empty air bullies. But since Barack Obama ran for the presidency and more specifically, since Rev. Wright came upon the scene, the ignorant racism is now in full bloom for all to see. This could have been a moment when we all as one nation, should have dealt with our history’s racism head on, but in fact the opposite has happened. It’s now being encouraged instead of being slapped down – immediately. This is what responsible producers should do. Otherwise, they have no business being in the tv news business.
For them to night after night express their concern that our president hasn’t shown his birth certificate is really quite troubling. This is all about racism. And for their bosses to keep them on the air is inexcusable. But they’re afraid of being labelled as “the liberal media” and this is the last thing they want. Truth and honesty doesn’t come in to play with them. This is how we ended up in Iraq.
Without Keith and Rachel and Ed and David S. on MSNBC, we would be screwed. Arianna has the best advice yet to these blithering idiots -go to Kenya and find the president’s birth certificate.
As far as GOP Congress members who refuse to stand up and demand this nonsense stop, I hope their voters get rid of them in the next election. This is a moment when they have shown their complete lack of leadership. Something that is supposed to be required when you work for the American people.
But they’re too busy on the “President Obama’s health care reform will kill old people” barnstorming campaign right now.
Let’s face it, we have some really really stupid people in this country – in the media and in Congress.
Can’t wait for Keith to return.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:59 pmOne good thing about President Obama residing in the White House is….it’s exposed the right wing fringe of our nation! We know where they live now, we know what radio channel they’re on, and we know what television program they’re hosting.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:01 pmDobbs has won nearly every major award for television journalism. He received the George Foster Peabody Award for his coverage of the 1987 stock market crash. In 1990, he was given the Luminary Award by the Business Journalism Review for his “visionary work, which changed the landscape of business journalism in the 1980s.” In 1999, he received the Horatio Alger Association Award for Distinguished Americans and Dobbs was named “Father of the Year” by the National Father’s Day Committee in 1993. August 2nd, 2009 at 2:02 pmOne good thing about Imus is (it’s one of the few good things I may add!)….he said recently he hates David Gregory, doesn’t trust him, believes he’s a fraud, and if I’m remembering correctly he used the word ’swine’ too to describe him!

August 2nd, 2009 at 2:05 pm3. Above the Clouds sez:…
What’s more to the point, AtC, is who will be available to wipe Dobb’s and Buchanan’s butts and re-diaper/pamper/depend them if they succeed in running off all the “illegal” immigrants.
Many of those “illegal” immigrants are the heirs of the people who had been on the continent for several thousand years (ahem, more than 6000, to be sure) and who have no particular reason to recognize the political boundaries imposed by a pack of European interlopers. As an interloper in good standing, my family having been here for a couple of centuries more than, say, Tom Tancredo’s, I think the natives are well within their rights (as are any of the rest of us) to tell Dobbs, Buchanan, Limpdiddler, Beck, et al to go on ahead of us in their own damned handbasket to whatever tastefully warm place their destination might be.
All of that is somewhat off topic, but it is nice to hear that Dobbs’s ratings are slipping a bit. Here’s hoping he’s on a real slippery downhill slope; couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:06 pmDobbs has to learn that his mistake was not in bringing up the story at all, but in not denouncing the crazy idiots right from the get-go. Instead, he presented the Birthers’ side as if it had even the slightest amount of legitimacy. Other networks have mentioned the Birthers, but only to point out how wrong and misinformed they are. And that they have at least eleven Congressman on their side.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:06 pmOf course the media doesn’t have the guts to ask if this is about race. It is a legitimate question and these birthers should have to answer for it…

August 2nd, 2009 at 2:11 pmThere is only one relevant demographic by which to evaluate the Birfers, of whom LoudObbs is a mouthpiece: they are 99.9999999 percent white. they fasten on the birth certificate issue with all the avidity with which their ancestors applauded lynchings, because even they fear the social obloquy that might ensue if they were just standing there shouting “Niqqer” at the top of their lungs
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:13 pmDobbs let a personal vendetta against the POTUS ruin his career. That much is irrefutable.

Dobbs slipped into insanity back before the election.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:15 pmI don’t watch CNN any more, in fact, I hate CNN. Look at the people they have on: Blitzer who is soooo boring and monotonous, Dobbs is so far gone at this point that he isn’t even rational.
Life is too short to tolerate this crap….if we stop watching, ratings plunge, advertiser’s notice and bingo, these clowns are off the air.

Poor Lou. The Baboon took off and jumped to Fox News while Lou continued babbling incoherently.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:22 pmDon’t forget that CNN is still the home of Fareed Zakaria GPS, so they haven’t completely lost all journalistic integrity. However, continuing to support Lou Dobbs as though he still represented journalism in any form is weakening CNN as a brand.

August 2nd, 2009 at 2:43 pmLou Dobbs, a “publicity nightmare”?
I believe more accurate names would be “embarrassment”, “conspiracy theorist loon”, or maybe even a “professional distorter”.
If his ratings are slipping, that is the perfect opportunity to show him the door.
Maybe then he will move in with Limbaugh. They’d make a lovely couple; two old curmudgeons who are always wrong, but refuse to acknowledge their (many) mistakes.
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:53 pmoooh look… a msm actual report worth noting:
FACT CHECK: Distortions rife in health care debate
By CHARLES BABINGTON (AP) – 4 hours ago
WASHINGTON — Confusing claims and outright distortions have animated the national debate over changes in the health care system. Opponents of proposals by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats falsely claim that government agents will force elderly people to discuss end-of-life wishes. Obama has played down the possibility that a health care overhaul would cause large numbers of people to change doctors and insurers.
To complicate matters, there is no clear-cut “Obama plan” or “Democratic plan.” Obama has listed several goals, but he has drawn few lines in the sand.

IMO what has Dobbs and Klein with their knickers in a twist is not the continued focus on the birther issue, but the unexpected backlash it has received. See, these are men of POWER used to having that POWER go unchallenged. Their refusal to drop the birther issue hinges on their expectation of adulation in spite of the fact that, in this case, they are wrong. They have been programmed to expect praise and consideration even though what they are doing is akin to picking one’s nose in public and wiping what one finds on one’s shirtfront. They exemplify the mindset of Buchanan, McCain, Kristol, Krauthammer, and others of their ilk.
August 2nd, 2009 at 3:02 pmLou Dobbs is a moron, and should be over at FoxNews with the rest of the pudgy little dingalings.
By the way, Lou Dobbs is a moron.
August 2nd, 2009 at 3:03 pmCNN is a joke and a shell of its former self. Anyone not watching MSNBC is out of the real news loop these days.
August 2nd, 2009 at 3:07 pmUnfortunately MSNBC is not much better. The exceptions would be Ed/Olberman/Maddow. Notice I don’t put Matthews on there as he is often just as out of touch and off the mark as Dobbs sometimes. Case in point, Buchanan is on there half the time, nuff said.
August 2nd, 2009 at 3:24 pmComedy Central does a better job reporting news in one hour a night, four nights a week, than CNN does 24/7.
Firing Dobbs would send a clear message to former CNN viewers that they do see themselves as a News Network. Maybe they would get some viewers back.
I suspect they’re already losing ad revenue or Klein wouldn’t have batted an eye.

August 2nd, 2009 at 4:17 pmwatchpoop, perhaps you didn’t notice, but the report on HuffPo was not an original report; it was originally published by the Associated Press. One can certainly quibble about the veracity of the AP, but they’re definitely not a liberal blog.

August 2nd, 2009 at 5:06 pmDobbs tried to get McCain elected as POTUS, instead of Obama. That in itself is obscene. McCain conducted a shamelessly slanderous campaign, full of deception and deceit.
McCain demonstrated that he was not ready for the position, and never will be.

Charles, a passionate family man, is prepared to protect his children and country from the lies and manipulations of the dangerous right winged extremists, those who promote the propaganda, and those who elect and follow these politicians blindly, never questioning beyond the media outlets established to further their cause. He begins a huntsmen’s murderous journey to cull his envisioned herd of right wing extremism, with calculating precision and extreme prejudice during a tumultuous time in the country he loves so dearly. His message cannot be mistaken. Seasoned FBI Agent, Cooper Maze, is tasked with bringing a calculating serial killer of means to justice. Agent Maze is assigned to profile, investigate, and apprehend the suspect in order to stop the ever increasing gruesome trail. A race begins to identify the motive and choices for executions that leave no evidence except for contentious emails and famous quotes sent from the victims’ computers. No one on the Right is safe.

August 2nd, 2009 at 6:53 pmEverything changed at CNN when Ted Turner lost creative control over his “baby” earlier this decade, before the Bush administration started the Iraq War.
Ted Turner got conned by the corporate con artists running AOL and Time Warner at the time. (AOL was larger than Time Warner and therefore “bought” Time Warner??? What a crock.).
I may be fantasizing, but I believe Ted Turner would have called BushCo b*llsh*t b*llsh*t before the Iraq War and would have made certain that any discussion about the U.S. starting a war would include a fair number of skeptics being heard on CNN. Unfortunately, dissenting voices were seldom heard, while BushCo cheerleaders got extensive air time.
We all know now that this was all part of an elaborate Konservative Korporate Konspiracy. Ted Turner, with his somewhat maverick attitude and policies, was in the way. (Remember, while other Korporate Konservatives were giving into pressure from far right-wing religious fundamentalist fanatics, CNN (no doubt okayed by Ted Turner) was airing Style with Elsa Klensch, a fashion program that showed fashion show, uncut, uncensored. Gee, I wonder how long this program lasted once Ted Turner lost creative control? It didn’t.).
August 2nd, 2009 at 6:58 pmHe may have called bullsh*t, but CNN made its name as the war-time embedded journalists for Gulf War I. Remember all those demonstrations of precision guided missiles that excluded the blast radius and the actual inaccuracy of the same? I found myself salivating to see an A-10, and then realized this is an Air Force Now film, and turned it off.

I peeked at the comments of the story, in which Lou Dobbs compares the ads to a “Swift Boat of the left”, could only sample them (2,600 comments!), but still found this one from ‘JeanPaulSatire’:
Lou, if you believe that “swift boating” is all about countering lies and correcting the record (as had been claimed by SBVFT), then you’re admitting that MM’s ad is telling the truth and correcting the record that YOU made.
Bit if you believe that “swift boating” is all about attacking via lies and distortions, then you’re also acknowledging that the SBVFT attacks on Kerry were lies and distortions, too.
So, which is it, Lou?
August 2nd, 2009 at 8:36 pmEugeneDebs – why do you suppose someone would use a show’s ratings to justify them watching it?

agree 100%
We saw the corporate powers that be fire those in the media if their rhetoric did not match the MSM corporate agenda = pro defense. What MSM did to Phil Donahue and Dan Rather are example of what happens when one goes against the flow or getting in the way of defense profiteering.
But did they have to put Shock and Awe in our faces for entertainment and hype for war? All that and the invasion was over a LIE and most in the Bush Crime Family knew that. I have always wondered how one can get up on TV and enthusiastically talk of a massacre knowing there is no reason for it.
It seemed anything not pro Bush back then was not allowed such as:
During Katrina Aaron Brown gave one of the most in depth reports – out there in a boat filming and calling for help for the stranded,… and he was gone from CNN shortly after. His story was the only, I felt, that showed true hardships and not just a brush painting over the mess for appearances so Bush would not look so bad in the virtually empty action he took.
Too many around the world are obese due to, in my opinion, the processed food brought to us by corporations. In the days where folks prepared their own food from scratch, no preservative and NOT ALL the FRUCTOSE too many foods seem to have, we did not have this obesity problem. The car was here in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and we did not see this problem then. And Big Pharma benefits from the unhealthy population.
Corporations are what rule and constantly feed one another. They feed us food, entertainment, too many drugs, war, screw us with credit cards and withhold health care….And very sadly, they will most likely get their Health insurance give away.

August 2nd, 2009 at 9:35 pmwatchPunk
you are admitting you agree with Bill Maher’s bigoted remark about how America is stupid?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
This is just ONE of the things wrong with people as stupid as you. Everything is all or nothing. America isnt stupid just the small minority that ARE stupid enough to watch Fox because they WANT to be lied to and like you are too stupid to know reality from brainwashing, remember the networks STILL dwarf Fox ratings,That doesnt say anything about AMERICA anymore than the fact we have serial killers says anything about America. See those of us with critical thinking skills understand this. Morons like YOU dont understand ANYTHING.
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:37 pmLou Dobbs is free of reality. Now i say – whatever feels good, but that should disqualify him from any serious news position in any serious news outfit.
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:39 pmNightmare? He makes Freddy Kreuger look like an altar boy!

See saying YOU are monumentally stupid or that some LIKE you are astonishingly breathtakingly stupid isnt saying America is stupid. That is pretty simple. Only imbeciles like YOU would be confused
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:53 pmExactly my point, EugeneDebs, but of course, the Ignorant Watch Retard, took it as a compliment! Well, I suppose when you’re on the bottom rung of society as are all the neocons, one would take any kind of attention (especially negative!) as a plus for themselves.
Losers. Every last one of them. You can always pick out these neocons in any classroom in America: THEY’RE ALWAYS STARING AT THE CEILING AND DROOLING DOWN THEIR NECKS.
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:53 pmtropgirl says:
Yeah I am sure you would rather we just take abuse. I am sure you liked it better when we did. Grow up. The rightwing started the vile attacks. Other than that I guess as an adult I will act as I choose.
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:55 pmI got this great idea. Create a fake Kenya birth certificate using Microsoft Word and other modern technologies. In a secret undercover operation, leak it to a WingNut like Hannity. Let him release it on air, and then we discredit it as a fake. Hannity goes down in flames, and the birthers go away.
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:57 pmWatchPunk.
See you are so stupid you have the reading comprehension of a gerbil. I didnt say EVERYONE in fact I specified the ones I meant. Some watch Fox to laugh at it but yes anyone who takes Fox seriously is stupid. Plain flat out stupid.

August 2nd, 2009 at 10:02 pmconservative guy says:
CNN and MSNBC don’t have any ratings. FOX News has the highest ratings
No, you are confused… Fox has the highest number of lies.
One example:
When a high-profile Republican gets into trouble, Fox News steps in to mislead their sheep viewers by labeling them as Democrats.
Here’s a short list of Fox’s chyron hackery:
John McCain – Democrat
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:05 pmJoe Lieberman – Democrat
Arlen Spector – Democrat (when he was still a Republican!)
Mark Foley – Democrat
Mark Sanford — A Democrat
Did you notice that President Obama’s “Kenyan birth certificate” has been folded many times as if it was created while at work using the company’s cool software and then folded up and put in a pocket for the drive home? And notice it’s done on plain white paper too!
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:05 pmThe reason why Fox is called Fox is because they are the foxes who are guarding the right wing hen house of America. The End.

Setting the bar mighty low, puppy. If you can find one single thing that FoxNews was factual about, it validates you thinking it’s worth watching?

Eugenedebs you must admit that this site does not foster any kind of meaningful discussion. You are all either ignorant or frustrated. Why don’t you all just grow up and get a life.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I am neither ignorant nor frustrated. You assume much. Typical of people who know very little. The people here know me. They might be convinced I am mean. You wont convince any of them I am ignorant. I amuse myself by slapping around three types. Trolls. The truly ignorant and pious, self righteous moralizes like YOU. So get a grip. YOU for instance have done NOTHING to engage in meaningful discussion unless you are stupid enough to think that dropping in and scolding us like you were on some high moral pedestal put there but GOD to tell us how us mere mortals should act would actually foster meaningful discussion. See MORON. Watchpunk has no interest in meaningful discussion. He comes here to annoy us and screw with us. That is what he does. That is who he is. IF however you REALLY did want some meaningful discussion which I doubt you either want OR are capable of you could start one and YES there are several very intelligent liberals here who will oblige you. I am not one that WASTES meaningful discussions on either trolls or morons who drop by and scold us like a schoolmaarm in their first post. So grow a brain or STFU and let the adults talk
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:16 pmI dont understand why certain trolls keep coming to TP.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:17 pmYou never contribute anything intelligent to the conversation.
You always get your ass handed to you because you cant think for yourselves. You just repeat the crap that you heard from limpdick, hannity and the rest of those goons.
Liberals think for themselves and we dont rely on certain talkingheads to get our information. The crap you hear from limpdick and the other goons are usually lies. They can never back up their claims with facts. Its over for you clowns, get over it.

August 2nd, 2009 at 10:18 pmSo tropgirl read WatchPUNKS last few posts. You can recognize a troll cant you? Those meaningless questions meant only to annoy and hopefully get us to continue an off topic and stupid conversation? The topic is how Lou Dobbs is embarassing CNN by his birther idiocy. Watchpunk KNOWS he cant defend that so he is trolling. It is what he does. It is who he is. I consider trollstabbing to be both amusing AND a moral imperative. Feel free to try dragging a meaningful discussion out of Watchpunk. Show us how it is done. Good luck with that.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:22 pmThe sad thing is that I used to watch his show and I thought he wasn’t too bad. However, since he went on his one trick pony illegal immigrant show, I haven’t tuned in because I’ve been too disgusted by it.
I doubt CNN will do anything about him though. :|
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:25 pmtropgirl says: …you must admit that this site does not foster any kind of meaningful discussion.
The site does not tell people what to discuss or not discuss.
That said, what would you like to discuss as I am open to whatever it is that you would care to throw out there.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:26 pmLooks like we’ve got one of those deluded types here now (’tropgirl’) who seems to think that by insulting the posters they’ve demonstrated how to “foster” a “meaningful discussion”.
Yes, I’ve noticed how effective it is to walk into a room, insult everyone in it, and BAM, just like that – a meaningful discussion comes into being.
*shakes head*
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:28 pmOpen Letter to tropgirl:
There is a lot of intelligent discourse on this site.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:29 pmThen there’s the trolls who come along and attempt to disrupt with strawmen and outrageous, ridiculous, discredited Neocon talking points.
There is nothing to DISCUSS with them, as that is not their intent, nor purpose on this site. Hence, the abuse that is heaped upon them is richly deserved.
Apparantly she wants to discuss how bad we are and insult us which strangely enough is NEVER the topic here
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:29 pmWhy, WatchDog, is that poll a ‘gem’?

Should Palin be a homemaker..
Why would I even want to decide what Palin should or should not be? She can become a stripper or a pilot or whatevah as far as I am concerned.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:38 pmWelcome to this site tropgirl. I also do not watch CNN or Fox.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:40 pmLou Dobbs?! I thought this was a Mary Tyler Moore rerun and the guy was Ted Baxter.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:41 pmtropgirl. I imagine if you are stupid enough you think it makes sense that because I was here early I have done nothing else. I went downtown to the library picked up my daughter and have to WAIT for my phonecall to go to work. Not that any of that is your business. You STILL think you are on some mission from GOD to tell us what we should do. I think a mental health professional MIGHT be able to help you with that. While you are at it work on that delusion that dropping into a room like this and scolding us like you are special while insulting is and snivelling that we insult people will magically result in meaningful conversation. Gee are you going? Not coming back? Try to imagine how little I care.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:42 pmXisithrus – did that help your boredom? Sounded kind of typical to me:
-Insults everyone.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:43 pm-Doesn’t see the irony in being here today so much that they notice how long others have been on (and then goes on to insult said use of time! hahaha).
-Signs off with sanctimonious nose in the air.
And in closing, if you think this language is foul, wow, wait until RHF or Arn Gnuttes shows up!! Yeehaww!
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:48 pmNaw. Still. Bored.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:48 pmThe real question is why did Palin work so hard to become what she wanted to be…then quit being what she wanted to be.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:50 pmXisithrus, methinks it was the only way she could stay in the spotlight, diva that she is in her mind.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:53 pmJust being plain old governor of Alaska isn’t newsworthy enough.
Now she can go pick fights on TV shows and stay in the center of the light. Unfortunately for her, that will just reinforce to most of us her bewildering lack of intellect, wit and coherence.
If that sent chills through you the way it did me, maybe Sarah should not try to become a pilot, just sayin….
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:56 pmYou may be, and perhaps are, entirely correct. I have never understood the need to getting ones mug in the spotlight.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:59 pmThank God many planes auto-pilot systems are tied into GPS. =)
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:01 pmIt seems to me that that Lou Dobbs and the GOP’ers think that they are the only people in this country who are smart enough to run this country, even though there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. And since the inferences about the President’s birth started before the election , I am just wondering why, being that they are so smart …. well hell, ….wouldn’t you think that the RNC and the McCain campaign would have used those smarts to have checked this nonsense thoroughly before Pres. Obama was elected so they could win the election?
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:06 pmAnyone has a good tip to get oneself out of painted into a corner?
Poor Lou, the poor sucker sought higher ratings by catering to morons.
Lou, before you join the Fuc ks clown circus, you better bring a large falafel covered Billdo to appease the mighty Billdo.
Otherwise Billdo might do you alive.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:08 pmFrankly, Ralph, I think my houseplants have a better idea of why they are on the window sill than this troll-pup.
ralph the wonder llama says:
watchdog says:
please advise.
“Please advise”? Talk about a waste of time.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:09 pmOne might just as well explain to a houseplant why you put it on the windowsill.
Klein said Dobbs does a smart newscast that explores issues that get little in-depth attention elsewhere, such as trade with China, health care funding and the stimulus plan.
When an industry invests $1.4mil a day to lobby against health care reform, do they really deserve any funding?
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:14 pmAt first, I thought Lou Dobbs was not so bad because, although Republican, he was often critical of Bush & Cheney. But he lost me when he started to repeat errors, such as the number of leprosy cases in the US and Nancy Pelosi’s use of a special airplane as Speaker of the House, even after they were debunked. He has been doing the same with this birther nonsense–keeping up the BS even after proven wrong.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:15 pmwatchdog:
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:16 pmWhat are you doing up so late?
While Lou thought, wrongly, he would create more viewers I do have to thank him for helping to expose the pundits tactics of using issues they do not really believe in for ratings/profits.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:20 pmTen! Ten! This is so much FUN.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:21 pmWhen they use 1.4 million a day of insureds premiums to lobby against reform, instead of paying claims, it shows they are not interested in their clients health but using premiums to protect profits thru legislation.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:27 pm#146 dbadass, I imagine dog has trouble sleeping because theres a black man living in the whitehouse, just like the rest of the wingnuts.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:29 pmWhy, when some 400 million a year of insurance premiums are used to lobby government, of course health insurance costs will go up!
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:30 pmHowever did Mr. Dobb’s show wind up being referred to as a newscast? Gracious, I miss the days when opinion content is newscast was identified as an editorial.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:30 pmWhat’s so banal is that those protesting healthcare reform now will be the first in line to sign up for the public option. We’ll have to fight them waiting in line, too. It really sucks the existence out of being a human. They make it seem hopeless.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:33 pmLooked at the photo above, Lou Dobbs now looks like a character that should be on South Park.
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:41 pmAugust 2nd, 2009 at 11:44 pm
All this birther, socialism nonsense instead of needed healthcare reform garbage reads like the script from a very bad soap opera. Time to pull the plug.

Is Democrat Party political power more important than upholding the precepts of the Constitution of the United States? It appears that the answer is yes.
Hey repug, you reveal yourself with the “Democrat” party comment, try to grow up and get out of your parents house.
August 3rd, 2009 at 6:29 amOh, crapduster @160, thank you for my morning laugh!
Yes, the Bush, Reagan and Nixon administrations were such fine examples of upholding the Constitution, limiting presidential powers to what is prescribed by law and never, never putting party ahead of country.
The last decent Republican president was Dwight Eisenhower, who sagely warned against the rising power of the Military Industrial Complex.
PEACE
August 3rd, 2009 at 6:50 amcropdusterdoug, I love how you neocons believe you can use the same arguments Democrats used against your political party for the 8 years under Bush as if it’s going to stick against us now! Sorry pal, but Americans have not forgotten the 8 years of George Bush and it will be a long time before they do. We know what you did and how you are!
August 3rd, 2009 at 7:24 amUmmmmm Tombass, according to you wingnuts….because Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate doesn’t have a doctored listed that means it’s not a real birth cerfiticate, so on viewing Obama’s “Kenyan” birth certificate, I see there is no doctor listed! Uh oh. What are you wingnuts going to do now? Huh?
August 3rd, 2009 at 7:54 amAnd can you wingers please explain why the Secret Service is protecting an ‘illegal alien’ in the White House? Huh?
August 3rd, 2009 at 7:55 amKayInMaine says:
….so on viewing Obama’s “Kenyan” birth certificate, I see there is no doctor listed!
Now, you see, THAT doesn’t matter. What matters is that there is now a piece of paper — physical evidence, if you will — that Obama was born in Kenya. Names don’t matter, doctors don’t matter. It’s evidence!
…. but still…. one must wonder, is that kenyan birth certificate the secret vault certificate? Or is it just another copy?…. and is there a raised seal? (one cannot tell if the seal is raised on the intertubes)….
….and I guess the whole lack of doctor’s signature must be taken to account, as it has borne such weight in viewing the Hawaii certificate….
…an INTELLIGENT person would expect the exact same rules to apply to determining the validity of the proposed Kenyan certificate to the actual Hawaii certificate…. one would expect….
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:04 amKayInMaine says:
cropdusterdoug, I love how you neocons believe you can use the same arguments ….
Rovian political strategy….. take all legitimate complaints and arguments against yourself, and apply them indiscriminately to the opposition. What this does, if done to a wide enough extent, is to make the complaint (which was originally accurate) appear to be completely nonsensical by using it in ridiculous circumstances. Frivilous repetition can render the argument, even when used legitimately, to be considered false.
The goal of such a tactic is not to “make it stick” to the opponent — the goal is to make the argument/complaint itself seem to be invalid because it has been hackeneyed through abuse and misapplication to such an extent that regardless of how legitimate the comment is, it immediately makes the listener think “overused and misapplied canard”, which means that even legitimate claims on such comments are regarded as false (or are viewed suspiciously).
The goal is to dilute the complaint so that it does not stick to those truly guilty of it.
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:14 amMy Father is a Dobbs fan. As an aging Baby-Boomer, he is terrified of the ‘Melting Pot’ that is becoming prevalant in the suburbs. He, along with many other younger people of the sixties, fled the city(In this case, Philadephia) to get away from they perceived the ‘enemy’. Now as they get older, they can’t see the benefits of a multi-cultural community. He fled futher north to escape the reality of the real World. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Dad. But when Dobbs, O’Lielly and the other right-hosts bemoan the plight of the White Man, he falls for it Hook, Line and Sinker. Depressing.
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:26 amLou Dobbs perfectly embodies the present state of television news programs and their hosts; not content to become the center of the story, they are now reduced to pontificating about falsified subject matter that goes beyond controversial into the realm of the bizarre and distasteful. There isn’t even an attempt made to research or validate information, all in the name of ratings. Television news is now no more informative or objective than Jerry Springer, and Dobbs and his ‘program’ are a huge part of that problem, making CNN and FOX now indistinguishable.
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:27 amSo tomass, how do you birthers explain that this birth certificate was signed on Feb, 17th 1964 with a republic of Kenya seal, when Kenya did not become a republic until Dec, 12th 1964? I’ll be waiting for that answer.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, those real world facts strike again.

For the “birthers”:

August 3rd, 2009 at 10:49 amSo it seems you feel you have a reasonable thought process. Is that a safe assumption on my part and if so can I ask you just a few questions? Thanks…
That CNN is accepting an anti-Dobbs ad from Media Matters, should send a message to Lou that he is no longer in favor at the Network. I suspect he is getting ready to jump to Fox. Shepard Smith over there should probably be looking for a new job since the right doesn’t like him either. Will they trade jobs?
