At Sen. Arlen Spector’s (D-PA) raucous town hall yesterday, one of the “most prolonged rounds of applause” was drawn by Katy Abram, a stay-at-home mother from Lebanon, who told Specter, “We don’t want this country to turn into Russia.” On MSNBC’s Hardball today, guest-host Lawrence O’Donnell aggressively questioned Abram about her views on government, asking if she would like to see Medicare and Social Security repealed. After struggling to give a complete answer, Abram conceded, “yeah, there are programs in place, you know, the founders did not want to have here.” Watch it:
On Fox News yesterday, Abram said that she was worried about a future where toilet paper was rationed, saying, “I know that years down the road, I don’t want my children coming to me and asking me, ‘Mom, why didn’t you do anything? Why do we have to wait in line for, I don’t know, toilet paper or anything?’”
Is this abysmal idiot the talking head of the moment for the righties?
The next Sarah Palin?
How do they come up w/ such an endless supply of the Truly Stupid?
August 12th, 2009 at 9:01 pmThere are now 45 million Medicare beneficiaries, and beginning in 2011 their numbers will begin to swell rapidly. These pols think they’re dealing with “Town Hell” now, wait ’til they try to do anything substantively negative to Medicare.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:02 pmI felt just a bit sorry for Katy Abram. She is clearly out of her depth.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:03 pmI guess her husband needs to do a better job of coaching her.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:04 pmPoor Katy, she’s got health care, cute kids, a nice home, and a husband who works so she can stay home, but she’s so afraid of THOSE PEOPLE who aren’t living like she is and she thinks America is going to turn into Russia by 2:19pm September 12, 2009!
August 12th, 2009 at 9:05 pmThen why were these idiots not out there protesting while the Texas dummy and Republikkkans were doubling the debt and running record deficits????????
August 12th, 2009 at 9:06 pmMy take on Katy Abram (and a longer version of the video).
August 12th, 2009 at 9:08 pmKaty was absolutely fine with the war criminals in the Bush White House for 8 years, however. She has her limits and health care reform is putting her over the edge!
August 12th, 2009 at 9:08 pmGreat post, Zooey! Fantastic. Right to the point. :-)
August 12th, 2009 at 9:09 pm“yeah, there are programs in place, you know, the founders did not want to have here.”
___
And, of course, this little Constitutional Scholar-Mom know this exactly how? Is she channeling Madison and Jefferson et al, or has she analytically read all of the Federalist Papers, and all of the works of Leonard Levy and Jack Rakove?
August 12th, 2009 at 9:10 pmThanks, Kay. High praise, indeed. :-)
August 12th, 2009 at 9:11 pmWhat is with the standard conservative fallback “the founders didn’t want” this or that?
Who cares what they wanted? It’s not as if they came down a a mountain, from the cloud and the thunder, with the declaration of independence written in stone tablets. They were men and prone to error, just like everyone else.
What is important is what US citizens want today, and the direction they’d like their country to take in the future.
Most of the founders died over 200 years ago. Let them rest in peace already.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:12 pmThis was painhful to watch, what a complete and utter moron. And like all the GOP morons, she’s breeding. I feel sorry for her children.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:13 pmThe Plutocracy can rest assured that America is filled with people stupid enough to fight in favor of their oppressors.
The slaves fighting for their masters’ right to continue to enslave them. Monkeys fighting to ensure that the Plutocracy will be able to oppress and enslave their children; guaranteeing that the best days of their childrens’ lives will be now when they are children. Their future livlihoods sacrificed at the alter of their parents egos.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:13 pmAre there any intelligent or semi-reasonable wingnuts left in the conservative corner? They are all batsh*t crazy and use no logic and have completely stupid information. These people are dangerous to themselves!
August 12th, 2009 at 9:13 pmSilly goose! Those ‘consititutional scholars’ at Faux noise told her.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:13 pmThere are so many stupid people in America! We can not argue with these people! We just have to feel sorry for them.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:14 pmHere we go with another right wing word salad machine in a pretty package. Today the package is complete with the totalitarian theocratic dog whistle around her neck. She didn’t give very clear answers, especially about the health care coverage of herself and her family. I hope the media digs deeper now that she has thrown her hat into the ring.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:14 pmShe said that she paid a lot of taxes but she didn’t know the family’s income. Her husband took care of the money.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:14 pmMrs. Abram had better be glad that Lawrence O’Donnell didn’t make mince meat out of her! I think that her ineptitude was so apparent that O’Donnell decided to play nice with her.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:14 pmThe founders didn’t want to do away with slavery either, and weren’t about to grant the right to vote to any woman.
I’d like to see this stay-at-home mom argue we should all go back to those days.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:16 pmHe accomplished his goal. To show she was just another poorly informed simple minded voter who get’s all her (mis)information from Faux.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:17 pmMs Abrams must be excited about the return of slavery…since the founders didn’t abolish it.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:17 pmO’Donnell should have asked her who the founders were and to define socialism. She would have fallen flat.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:18 pmFrankly, Ms Abrams ought to run back into her kitchen in a fast hurry, before she is justifiably taken apart by the media and blogosphere — ala Joe the Plumber.
It may be too late already…
August 12th, 2009 at 9:20 pmpjkool – ROTFL! That would’ve been too funny but really cruel! HAHAHAHA!
August 12th, 2009 at 9:21 pmDid the founders want 10,000 nuclear weapons, f-22’s, and 750 military bases in 177 countries? I read a lot of history and never caught that.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:21 pmCorrection needed: Specter is (big sigh here) a (D) not an (R) as reflected in the story ” Sen. Arlen Spector’s (R-PA)”.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:21 pmSorry for noticing but since we make note of the ‘error’ when FX news uses (D) for an (R) that has mucked up…

She’s just as nucking futz — and as pig-ignerrent — as the rest of the tea-bagger/Dildo-head/WhirledNutzDaily morons…. You’d think that it’s folks like these that the Straussian neo-cons think oughtn’t be allowed to vote … but they need them as voters to even have a chance at democratic [small "d"] representation for their twisted ideas.
Cheers,
August 12th, 2009 at 9:22 pmJust an fyi, Jefferson and Adams wanted to abolish slavery but just as now. the representatives from the south threatened to scrap the entire declaration of independence if they couldn’t have their way.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:23 pmWonder what will happen if her Husband should loose his way of making a living just when one of her family members need extensive medical care far more than what’s available in their Health Care Savings, and no kind people or volunteer groups are able to assist in their times of needs? Hmmm, maybe this is when “reality” will hit home with these people instead of the ‘i got mine’s, and you get your’s’ mentallity. Just so sad America.

August 12th, 2009 at 9:25 pmFirst, we get Joe the Plumber. Now, it’s Kate the Dumber. Where will this right-wing lunacy end?
August 12th, 2009 at 9:26 pmjohnson44 , Cocker Spaniels are kind and polite, but they should not be on TV giving their opinions on our healthcare system.

Anything beyond her big toe would have been out of her depth.
The Founding Fathers also didn’t envision the Mormon religion either, Katy. Perhaps you’d feel safer if your church were declared a fraud and it’s tax-free status repealed. You could still go on your missions, just not as a tax-exempt junket. Now that would be charitable of you.
PEACE
August 12th, 2009 at 9:31 pmIf I went with what the founding fathers wanted, my husband and I, and our daughter would still be slaves!
Oh, wait, maybe the Repubs want to bring that back too! ;-)
August 12th, 2009 at 9:33 pmKaty Abrams knows she can always homestead in New Israel (Palestine), if American politics are too complicated for her.
The main intent of the founding fathers was life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness.
Single payer healthcare and cheap vodka for all!
And I’m sure we can come up with a toilet paper alternative.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:41 pmFor seven years, Bush ran a $2 billion a month illegal war off the books and people like her just stared off into space. Now, they’re deeply concerned about fiscal sanity. Give me a fricking break.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:41 pmWonder what would be the upshot of genetically combining Katy Abram and Orly Taitz? Hmmm….
August 12th, 2009 at 9:42 pmNinerFan, it was a $12 billion/month illegal war! $2 billion/month is probably what was being syphoned off into offshore accounts for the Bush cabal.
But I totally agree with your point.
PEACE

She probably home-schools her little drones.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:46 pmIpeggy: “If I went with what the founding fathers wanted, my husband and I, and our daughter would still be slaves!”
There’s not much consolation here, but it’s pretty clear that most of the Founders were actually against the institution of slavery. Almost all the slave owners renounced it and freed their own slaves, many of whom had come as part of a family farm. Their political problem was fashioning a union in an environment where some of the colonies’ economies were based on slave labor. But, every founder knew full well that the first American killed by the redcoats in the Revolutionary War was a freed African-American.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:48 pm“Sleeping giant,” eh? And have we filled her with great anger? And, as long as we’re going with that theme, will it end with her dropping two atomic bombs on us?
August 12th, 2009 at 9:48 pmAnd here is Katy’s husband at the same event. Can we ask him about the cost of his family’s healthcare and just how much President Obama has raised his taxes?

August 12th, 2009 at 9:50 pmDear Katy Abram, I feel your pain and I do understand what you are going through. One very important difference. The adminstration was Cheney/Bush.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:50 pmWhere were you for the last 8 years?
“To me, maybe, I’m just not that smart….” — Katy Abrams
Yeah. On that I will agree. She got one thing right.
Cheers,
August 12th, 2009 at 9:51 pmMy word, Sarah Palin has returned. Her intelligence is less than adequate. She wants to restore the Constitution back to its intended form. Was not aware both Medicare and Social Security are socialist programs. Did not want words put into her mouth, but could not respond when asked if her parents would not accept Medicare and Social Security because they were “socialist” programs. Just another “real american” with an empty brain that is thick as a brick -with a loud mouth. How embarrassing for her.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:51 pmYea, if the founding fathers could have given the people free medical care, they would have chosen not to.
Sure lady, sure.

August 12th, 2009 at 9:52 pmLawrence O’Donnell just proved how ‘dumb’ she really is. She’s a rambling cretin that has no idea what’s going on.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:53 pmI would feel sorry for this dumb woman except that I know her kind in North Carolina too well. She is proud of her stupidity, wears it like a badge of honor, has no respect for learning, and can never be convinced she is wrong because she has the stubborness of a Rethug. She deserves contempt. I am tired of wasting “empathy” on people who should be scorned.

August 12th, 2009 at 9:56 pmSocialistic tyranny? Fascist dictatorships? Death panels? Internment camps? Foreign birth certificates? They’re all part of a common pattern.
The problem is that the most vocal opponents of the reform legislation really do not care whether what they are espousing is factually correct. They will gladly embrace the lies and distortions if these fallacies provide a vehicle for venting their pent up hatred against anything and everything with the Obama stamp on it.
The key is to get past these bellicose blowhards and reach the constituency that is genuinely concerned, yet receptive to learning the facts. The tricky part is that it’s hard to separate the sincere wheat from the Astroturf chaff.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:58 pmThanks, BobbyG, my sentiments exactly.
When she introduced herself at yesterday’s rally, she began by saying she had never before paid attention to politics. That much is evident. Yes, Ms. Abram was very pleasant in tonight’s interview, and she made it quite clear that she was too wrapped up in her own life to pay any attention to 9/11 or the War in Iraq. She is typical of the utterly naive, self-absorbed person who so easily falls victim to right-wing extremist manipulation.
It doesn’t bode well for the future.
August 12th, 2009 at 9:59 pmI see they found a replacement for Joe the Plumber
August 12th, 2009 at 9:59 pmI hope she taped this so she can review her stupidity with her proud family. If she doesn’t know how much her family makes and doesn’t respond to $250K then that has to be LESS than the real number. That makes unable to relate to the real world.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:00 pmJust to extend the metaphor, I also don’t think the founding fathers wanted a country where patients have to pay more than their annual salary for medical procedures, or one in which an entity called “healthcare providers” even exists, let alone earns many more millions than doctors do. I also don’t get how these opponents spread the myth that death for seniors will result from a national health care plan, yet would repeal Medicare, which certainly would result in the deaths of seniors. Go figure.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:00 pmHormiga#20, I would say you called it. If O`donnell wanted to he could have spanked her right out of the studio.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:00 pmShe should thank him for using kid gloves on her.
At least her and her family will save the taxpayers money by never using any kind of government assistance.
And, you know, this person is defending, basically, the folks who did nothing when her home country was bombed.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:01 pmI watched Specter handle this Ms. Abram and was very impressed. Old Spector is one smooth politican. Politican used in a good sense

August 12th, 2009 at 10:04 pmHey candide – thankfully I don’t live in the district in NC where at least 10% of the people don’t believe Hawaii is a state! ROTFL! These people are just willfully ignorant and proud of it! Lawds yes they’re crazy!
August 12th, 2009 at 10:04 pm“Lawrence O’Donnell just proved how ‘dumb’ she really is. She’s a rambling cretin that has no idea what’s going on.”
I agree with your statement. I was somewhat on pins and needles hoping he would not tear-her-apart as I have seen him do to Pat Buchanan. Mr. O’Donnell almost had a look of pity for her on his face. She was pitiful, so uninformed.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:06 pmInfrared missiles that you could see -Katy Abram
Okay. I have no idea what this person is talking about.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:11 pm“Specter protestor Katy Abram advocates the repeal of Medicare and Social Security.”
The dumbing down of the America especially the uninformed anti-healthcare reform wingnuts.
Someone needs to school Ms. Abram if you recall when the former clown President tried to privatize Social Security which is gov’t run program. People nearly flipped out when Bush try to sell this program. Wingnuts don’t want Obama to take away their Medicare and feel that Obama’s health reform is socialized medicine yet there no uproar of protest concerning Bush’s attempt to privatize Social Security and his continuing ban of seniors and individuals to get prescription drugs and medical treatment in countries such as Mexico and Canada because they couldn’t afford the high costs of medical treatment and prescription drugs in the U.S.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:13 pmIts embarrassing knowing that I live in the same state as this woman. She is a very small percentage of Pennsylvanians who think like she does.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:14 pmIt’s really long past time to stop this Russia-as-bogey-man schtick. It’s a great nation that has endured much. We are allies, and we have been allies for most of our history. The Soviets took the brunt of what the Third Reich AND the empire of Japan dealt out, and won. The Russians fought on our side in the War of 1812.
Our country has a large population of Russian immigrants and Americans of Russian ancestry.
Why we aren’t hearing about our relations and negotiations with Russia on a near-daily basis can only be explained by our piss-poor media.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:16 pmWitch1 said,
You really couldn’t do a test that a person had to pass to vote because even a Republican can pass a test where you know what is going to be on the test.
A much better test would be a thousand question test on a wide variety of general knowledge, and no two tests are ever the same. Would you be willing to take such an intelligence test to vote? Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
August 12th, 2009 at 10:16 pmsscncturn64 @ 74 – I know that’s right! Missus Abram had better hope her husband keeps his job – otherwise – she’ll be on a public option!

Katy and Sam appeared on *gasp* Hannity last night. Here’s the clip. The interview with the Abrams begins at about 3:07, and she’s crying by 3:28.
She says that she doesn’t need people calling her on her cell phone to call her a racist. Hannity is appalled! Asks if that’s happened a lot to her today! Well, it’s happened once. She says she doesn’t know how the person got her cell phone number. Um, Katy? Maybe it’s someone you know!
Hannity claims that people like himself and Katy are referred to as Nazis and Brownshirts. Uh, I think that’s how the WhiteWing is referring to the Left! Unless I’ve misjudged which side of the discussion the people wearing the Swastikas and holding signs of Obama with a Hitler mustache are on.
Katy also claims that “this is not what the Constitution wrote”. I’d have to agree with her because I’m not aware that the Constitution wrote anything.
Oh, and Katy was a Democrat, voted for Clinton twice (she thinks…) and was for “abortion and all that stuff” before she met her husband.
And best for last: Katy was a journalist! This inarticulate know-nothing was part of the media elite. Palin II.

August 12th, 2009 at 10:30 pmIs she joe “the plumber”’s wife?
August 12th, 2009 at 10:31 pmOh Katy, toilet paper is very important to me too. I do however hope with all my heart that should my children call me to task for things I did not act to prevent it will be more on the order of “Mom, what did you do to help Darfur?” or “Mom, where were you when our country condoned torture?” and not “We’re out of toilet paper!”. Shallow begats shallow.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:35 pmLarry was painfully polite; as I winced thinking he would (rightly) tear her to pieces for having the balls to spout her baseless rhetoric at the town hall.

August 12th, 2009 at 10:38 pmI was watching King of the Hill the other day and noticed that Peggy Hill looks much like Peggy Hill
August 12th, 2009 at 10:39 pmKaty Abram did raise one important question: Does she have a health insurance policy which covers psychiatric counseling?
August 12th, 2009 at 10:39 pmPeggy, lol, looks like Palin that is..my bad 8^P
August 12th, 2009 at 10:39 pmIMO, what comes out clearly when people like Katy open their mouths is a basic lack of knowledge of U.S./world history and political science. I know this for a fact because I taught high school social studies for 33 years, and a lot of my students didn’t think that social studies was important. I taught all three subjects, and would take a lot of time explaining to my students why it is important to know history and political science, but only 5 in a class of 30 would study for tests. Most of them would not remember what we had covered the previous day. Too many in this country have been brainwashed to believe that political science, U.S History, and world history play no role in helping them understand what is going on in this country and the reasons why America’s relationships to other countries are the way they are today. Plus 1 of every 3 people in America have high school diplomas but are funtionally illiterate, and this number is growing. I read an article on Alternet that went into detail in explaining why so many millions voted for people like McCain/Palin. They lack critical thinking skills, don’t like reading anything, and depend on others to tell them what they should believe. I retired back in May because I’d had more than enough of the negative attitudes toward learning anything in any subject and expecting to graduate anyway.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:40 pmThe Founding Fathers’ Constitution was corrupted back in the 1800’s you blithering A$$HOLE. Try looking up the change from English Common Law to British Mercantile Law, THAT is when the TORRIES finally won the American Revolution. Then couple that with the TRAVESTY OF “Jusitice” in the 1886 Supreme Court NON-Decision that gave corporations the right of personhood in Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad
Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Clara_County_v._Southern_Pacific_Railroad
“The question of whether corporations were persons within the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment had been argued in the lower courts and briefed for the Supreme Court, but the Court did not base its decision on this issue.
However, before oral argument took place, Chief Justice Morrison R. Waite announced:
“The court does not wish to hear argument on the question whether the provision in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which forbids a State to deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws, applies to these corporations. We are all of the opinion that it does.”[3]
This quotation was printed by the court reporter in the syllabus and case history above the opinion, but was not in the opinion itself. As such, it did not technically – in the view of most legal historians – have any legal precedential value.[4] However, the Supreme Court is not required by Constitution or even precedent to limit its rulings to written statements.”

August 12th, 2009 at 10:50 pmmajii, the student population you describe is the result of our “everyone gets a trophy!” society. These kids are raised with the expectation that, if you show up, you’re already a winner. No effort necessary, you get the medal, the trophy, the diploma.
What a disservice we do when we raise children to expect a level playing field everywhere they go. When they hit the job market, they’re in for the shock of their lives.
I applaud teachers like you who actually try to educate, but learning is a 2-way street.

But with all of these protesters on the GOP side, would they know the difference between a re-education camp, a labor camp and the Star Chamber if they couldn’t find their website bookmarks on the computer? This is the party that believes hand written letters is a form of terror.

I suppose we can quibble over the exact meaning of what the founders meant by general welfare, but I think it’s odd that the wingers only focus on the common defense part and forget everything, except their interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, that comes afterward…

___
Yeah, and you will always be told that the Preamble, never having once been cited in a SCOTUS ruling, is irrelevant. The Preamble, though, to me provides the broad “why” for the ensuing “what” and “how” provisions in the various articles.
Now, Legend-in-His-Own-Mind Scalia would doubtless retort “WTFC?” All he cares about is “original textualist” interpretation of the “what” and “how” parts. His attitude is “Life is unfair. Get over it. You want social justice? Look elsewhere.” He is utterly jurisprudentially uninterested in the “why.”
August 13th, 2009 at 12:11 amralph, I don’t think the “founders fetish” is grounded in reality or any real concept of who those founders were. I think it’s a bit like the right-wing war fetish, these folk wish to see themselves as brave, daring patriots. So they live vicariously through the sacrifice of others. It’s a bit like buzzards actually.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:13 amThat is all true, but it’s still in there…it’s what you might call an inconvenient truth for the Scalia’s of the world. Just because they don’t want to use it create a precedent or even cite it in a ruling doesn’t mean it’s not relevant–we can always work towards the goal…

No argument from me there. Rational heath care policy surely “promotes the general welfare,” and it’s an impediment to “securing the blessings of liberty” to always live one serious accident or injury away from bankruptcy, “good insurance” notwithstanding. Your rights to national defense and police and fire protection are not means-tested. If we regard health care as a fundamental social right — which we now overwhelmingly claim — the same ethic should apply.

Ah yes, letting conservative grandmas die because lack of health insurance..very noble of you.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:27 amToo bad some people can’t see the system we currently have requires the insured to pay for the catastrophic care the uninsured receive, and quite possibly at a higher amount than what we might all conceivably pay under a more sane, equitable system.

Iggerants, all of em.
I like the founding fathers fetish, if it includes concepts like the earth granted to each generation in usufruct, and the basic reason for government to promote the general welfare.

Well, he can wish in one hand, sh__ in the other, and see which one fills up faster. There are currently 45 million Medicare beneficiaries, and their number is about to increase rapidly. Given that both SS and Medicare are “entitlements,” even the billionaires get the benefits. Now, for the wealthy, the Medicare is far more valuable, given that Part-A acute care coverage is essentially limitless, whereas their SS checks would just be chump change. My mother had a bad year in 2007, racking up probably $500,000 in “face value” hospital bills. Medicare essentially covered everything (albeit at the likely 75-80% discount). Tell me some wealthy retiree would forego that. Right.

I don’t understand why the price of a drug or procedure is not the same for everyone. No other segment of our economy keys the price of a service to who you are and whether or not you have insurance. If a facility can give me a MRI for the $800.00 price they negotiated with my insurance group and still stay in business, why must the uninsured patient pay 1.5K?
August 13th, 2009 at 12:42 amHow many normal town-hall attendees that SUPPORT the health care proposals are brought on to the cable news shows to be interviewed? I have a friend now undergoing chemo and radiation for a 4th recurrence of his lymphoma. One day of chemo infusion a week now for 6 weeks. Each vial “costs” $20,000.
Of course, he and his family are broke and now on welfare. And, they had insurance through his wife’s employment.
The accounting is totally crazy, and comprises a huge proportion of our annual national “health care” expenditure. Doesn’t have sh** to do with “health care” but is otherwise quite lucrative for some.

August 13th, 2009 at 1:02 amMy bets are on the fact that Katy was a plant and did not think she would be called on to ask a question. Our national health care policy is obscenely incoherent.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:20 amGlasnost is the worst thing that happened to Russia in recent history. These simpletons have no idea how much the robber-barons and financial sharks rip us off. We produce more than enough value to provide everyone in this nation with health care AND toilet paper.
What a shitweasel this woman is.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:20 amI think she was ready to be called upon, but never thought past the town meeting. She ended up on national tv and has to continue to pretend she knows nothing about politics except that she wants to go back to what the founders intended.. wouldn’t talk about her income (did she look like someone who lets her husband take care of everything?Yesterday she did, today not so much.) She is in business, has wealthy friends, sounds more intelligent than she lets on, but doesn’t know if her family income is more than $250,000. Please.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:23 amIt is obvious that everything Katy knows about politics she learned watching Fox News. This video would be a good case study to show to high schoolers so they’ll learn how stupid watching Fox makes you sound.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:34 amIsn’t it amazing in this day and age that there are gullible suckers like Katy and the rest of the uninformed right wing-nuts. They would rather pay a corporation (that has only one objective – profit) for health care when that’s a crap shoot at best. They call that freedom. We could pay a fraction of what the corporations charge, in taxes, and get cradle-to-the-grave health care. No denials of treatment, no pre-existing conditions, no dropped coverage. I call that practical.
The nutjobs out there always scream no to socialism. Well, how would they like no firefighters or police? What about no schools or EMS? Why don’t we let the wingnuts make their own roads and install their own traffic signals. While we’re at it, why not get rid of those pesky speed limits. They hate the government so why do they let them make us drive so slow?
And to the Katy’s of the world, do not ever apply for a Pell Grant or a student loan to send your kids to a socialist state university.
I never imagined that I would ever live to see the such blatant, willful, collective stupidity that I’ve seen recently at the town hall events held to discuss health care reform. What’s worse is that they seem to be proud of being gullible suckers… and stupid.

August 13th, 2009 at 1:51 amThis woman is a phony and got off easy. 1) Many are championing her for noting Obama’s support of single payer. Of course this was before he was President when he said this back in 2003 or 2004 (And Odonnell thought she was referring to whaen Obama was running for president or was president). The thing with this, however, is that she also claimed to only recently be following politics so how does she know of something Obama said in 2003/2004 before anyone really knew him if she only recently started following politics. 2) Interesting how she was passionate and clear while speaking at the town hall but couldn’t (Or wouldn’t) respond clearly to the most basic questions on Hardball…the difference…she read off a piece of paper at the town hall. Somehow I don’t think she is what she says she is when she is not only confident but aggressive and attacking of a US Senator at the Town Hall filled with people yet meek and inexperienced on TV…somthing doesn’t ring true about both the Town Hall (Pretty Aggressive for someone who didn’t even follow politics until very recently) and the TV appearance (Too meek for someone who was so aggressive at the Town Hall. Both MSNBC and Fox and anyone who believes this woman to be who she said she is just got punked!

(Oh, my husband pays all the bills!)and what was that garbage of only recently becoming interested in politics, like around 1991 (?–18 years ago, she was 17) and that we’ve been in constant war since then and the people are upset about being in constant war, and I wanna go back to when the Founders wrote the Constitution (slavery, white male landowners, etc.)? I’m guessin’ she can’t tell us what’s in the Constitution. I’m sorry, she sounds like an airhead, and Lawrence O’Donnell WAS too much of a gentleman with her–he could have eviserated her in 5 minutes. These Righties should get somebody with a little more intelligence and moxie to spew their talking points. She looked OK screaming in the Town Hall about socialism and Russia, but completely pooped out on Hardball.

johnson44 says:You people are some kind of sick animals! She was kind and polite and you nuts go after her!
She’s a sick arrogant biatch. Deal with it. How can you call anyone who favors cutting off the financial and medical lifelines of elderly people? Not to mention being the same teabagger like yourself who regurgitates fallaciously that Obama wants to kill off the elderly with his healthcare reform because Rumprider TOLD you to think that way. So this is my summation:
You and your teabagging terrorists spread lies that Obama wants to kill the elderly.
While…….
You and your teabagging terrorists want to eradicate the very government resources that keep them both financially and medically secure……SOCIAL SECURITY and MEDICARE.
Nice double standard huh, little hypocrite.
Defeats your own bullshit, don’t you think?
August 13th, 2009 at 3:09 amI used to be fairly into conspiracy theories. One of the strongest plans was population control. Its a reality in africa and asia. Because very powerful people used subliminal propaganda to turn their message. The reason people are against health care and in favor of the wars in the middle east is because they have been conditioned to think that there is very little resources and that rationing is coming. Little do they realize they is more than enough for everyone in the world. The powers that be make these people into tools and they willing buy the scam. it how they maintain control. which is why they HATE people reading and thinking. People shouldn’t watch TV or Radio for “news”.
August 13th, 2009 at 3:56 amO’Donnell did indeed put words in her mouth. She was obviously not keen on advocating the repeal of either Social Security or Medicare. She hasn’t thought her ideas through, clearly, and like so many others claims bewildering certainty of knowledge about what the founding fathers would’ve thought about modern government programs.
I feel kinda sorry for her. She seems genuinely concerned, not hateful. She’s not irretrievably stupid. Gullible and ill-informed, certainly.
The Repubs will likely try to keep hold of her, I hope she at least has the sense avoid becoming a political tool.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:12 amIt’s ironic that Abrams does not want the US to “turn into Russia” knowing full well she has no idea what goes on in 2009 Russia let alone where it is on a map.

Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism
by Sean Hannity
Edition: Hardcover
Availability: Currently unavailable
Still a conservative despite the $, March 22, 2004
“First and foremost I am a conservative who has seen the light after working a number of years in the liberal television media. While working in television I didn’t see it. I didn’t see the liberal workings because I was a part of it. After leaving to become a stay at home mom I see time after time how much my former counterparts spin everything. As a result I have returned to my original God given roots of conservativism. (My parents are so proud). I digress. To the last individual who stated only the rich are conservative…well let me educate you. I personally have NEVER made over $35,000. My husband is making in the mid $50’s…well looky here someone who is a conservative who makes less than your liberal paycheck. Amazing to think that someone so poor could be a conservative.
Anyhow, I bought Sean’s book this weekend and it again has stirred the fire in my belly. I absolutely love this book. Sean doesn’t skirt around the issues with a song and dance of rhetoric. He shows CLEARLY and DISTINCTLY how the left left their minds in the gutter. Their minds are fogged with the rantings of lunatics. They have seen clear proof of the difference of good and evil in the world and are still either oblivious to it or truly choose to turn a blind eye in hopes for recovering the White House.
Sean you have truly outdone yourself. Keep up the great work! This is truly a work of love and dedication.
From a poor conservative…”

August 13th, 2009 at 6:38 amAnnieX, good for you for find that review on amazon! For Hannity’s book, no less. That would explain why her first media stop was Sean’s show. Any bets she called them, not the other way around?
Mrs. Katy knew how much her family made in 2004 (mid-$50k), but doesn’t now know if they make over $250,000/year now, or five times what they made in 2004.
Please please don’t turn this person into the next JTP! I saw and heard more from NotJoe than anyone ever needed to.

August 13th, 2009 at 6:51 amFor instance; the Founding Fathers never drove electric cars. So, there! And, this Bill of Rights? It has to go! Also, why can’t we just use leaches to cure illnesses? That’d be cheaper. And this idea that there are folks going without? That is just a bunch of propaganda. Everyone knows that we are a Christian country, and our churches and our wealthy citizens work together to make sure everyone has what they need. My friends and I don’t know of anyone living without whatever they need. See, this is what I am saying; these liberal-socialist-fascist-neo-pinko-commie-fags who promote such anti-Chistian themes as Social Security, Medicare, and publicly owned lands are killing this country that I love here in Kneeville, Texas! Reverend Kleehopper tells me I’ll have more for you after next Sunday’s service. Oh, and I support that Paul guy too!
August 13th, 2009 at 6:54 ampete says:
pete, I have to respectfully disagree. Hannity asked her if she was satisfied with her response from Specter, and she admitted that she was so “um…er…well, like…” that she didn’t listen to his response. She was a plant with a “question” clearly written for her by someone else so that the cameras could be turned on her to capture her passion.
Mrs. Abram admits that she majored in journalism, worked in television before “returning to her conservative roots” and becoming a housewife and stay at home mother. She knew exactly what she was walking into, managed to get a front row seat and had her talking points in her hand.
Just like Joe the Plumber, it was all staged to look spontaneous. And just like JTP, it was all bullshit.

August 13th, 2009 at 6:58 amBy her own account, has been mesmerized since 1991 by the continuous Gulf War light show!
August 13th, 2009 at 7:05 amOn Fox News yesterday, Abram said that she was worried about a future where toilet paper was rationed, saying, “I know that years down the road, I don’t want my children coming to me and asking me, ‘Mom, why didn’t you do anything? Why do we have to wait in line for, I don’t know, toilet paper or anything?’”
awwwww… inn’t that the cutest littl’ thang? Dontcha worry, sweety-cakes, you won’t be standing in any lines in the soon-to-be socialist fascist baby-juice drinking wacky-eugenics world of the librul future…. YOU’LL be far, far too busy working as a “pleasure consultant” (like the classy new name for w hore?). You’ll do just dandy in that position (one you are intimately familiar with, to include just doing whatever the man tells you to do… which is all that you are doing right now, you lying POS W hore. At least the furture pleasure consultant work you will be doing will be enjoyable, where this particualr w horing you are engaging in right now cannot be in any way physically pleasurable).
Someone pass me that bottle of baby-juice, would’ja? This one’s a bit cuter than that Sarah tramp, though not an iota brighter. Perfect for her new job in the new world order of librul domination.
August 13th, 2009 at 7:17 amOh, and sweety -pie?…. making something in the “mid-$50’s” in 2004 was NOT being “poor”. Hate ta’ burst your bubble there, little cherub cheeks.
Income in the mid-$50’s in 2009 is not “poor”, either. I wish I was making close to the “mid-$50’s”, you lying confused tramp.
August 13th, 2009 at 7:22 amWhen she says “Maybe I’m not that smart”, she hit the nail on the head.
August 13th, 2009 at 7:28 amOh, and OT, but the republicans want to take away social security and medicare, but that is also the fear-mongering they are engaging in over the healthcare bill. But you need to understand the difference in intention.
The republicans alwyas believe that intention trumps action (or inaction). “Well, he meant well..” is a viable excuse for a republican (when speaking of another republican). This is part of that stupid, stupid, “I’t the thought that counts.”
Anyway, I digress…. See, what they are saying is that the Healthcare Bill will take away the elderly’s SS and medicare (..yes… I know it won’t, but I’m explaining their argument and why they don’t see it as hypocritical) in order to diminish capitalistic freedom and establish a fascist socialist state. And that is “bad”. What the republicans want to do is remove the fascist socialist programs of SS and medicare to eliminate socialism and expand free market capitalism. And that is “good”.
it’s all about intentions.
August 13th, 2009 at 7:39 amOHMYGOD…….Katy now has a Facebook page, filling up with fans……..and SHE is asking the questions now for anyone who looks at her page!
I’m sending an e-mail to Lawrence O’Donnell with the info on her Hannity book review. Great detective work Annex!
August 13th, 2009 at 7:51 amThey also hadn’t given women the right to vote. Would Ms. Abrams truly like to return to that?
What so many others have pointed out in these comments, is what the founders did give us is a structure and the right to make our own decisions. But, what our founders did clearly understand (and feared) is not every citizen is smart enough and/or well-informed enough to participate in this great experiment. Ms Abrams proves that point.
August 13th, 2009 at 7:52 amWhere is this woman currently getting toilet paper that she doesn’t have to wait in line?
August 13th, 2009 at 8:04 amYou know something I wish someone would bring up to these “this isn’t what the Founders intended/wrote/wanted/envisioned/whatever” folks?
I wish someone would mention to them that they left the Constitution open-ended, intending for it to be amended as society progressed and new issues needed to be addressed. I want to know why these people who are so gung-ho about what the founders wanted always seem to ignore the fact that what the founders wanted was for this country to continue to grow as time went on.
August 13th, 2009 at 8:15 amLittle miss stinky ass should start saving toilet paper now, after all, doesn’t she want a pristine anus for the rapture at least she should want clean underwear for her children.
August 13th, 2009 at 8:15 amGive little Katy a break.
If you were going to show your a$$ all over cable TV, you’d also be concerned about an adequate supply of toilet paper.
August 13th, 2009 at 8:31 amPoor Katy. She woke up this morning and didn’t have to go to work, doesn’t have to worry about health care issues, and thinks America will force her to use only 3 pieces of toilet paper for each visit to the bathroom, because in her mind, we are quickly becoming Socialist Russia!
Oh Katy. Stuff a sock in it and don’t take it out until you understand what a pompous a*s you are, okay?
August 13th, 2009 at 8:32 amShe and others like her are a danger to democratic government. She insists on being heard, but doesn’t know anything about the very issues she speaks on. Some demagogue has obviously told her what to think and what to do, since she can’t even answer Lawrence O’Donnell’s simple questions about her own issues. She can’t even state what she thinks about her own opinion!

August 13th, 2009 at 9:02 amI’d say we came closer to early 90s Russia in the past few years than we ever will to the (cue scary voice) RUSSIAAAAAAA that exists in the minds of these psychotics.
August 13th, 2009 at 9:03 amSo Katy Abram wants to return to the Constitution of our Founding Fathers? Does the civics-challenged, intellectual midget realize that where that to happen, she probably would not have been allowed to speak at a town hall meeting. She certainly would not have been allowed to vote in a national election. She would have had to stay home minding the slaves. I watched her on Hardball and was embarrassed for my gender. O’Donnell should lose his journo creds for the softball treatment of an obvious Right-winger ‘reading from the Freedom Works script’ puppet. These are life-and-death issues and if some bimbo wants to wade into the fray, hand her back her ass on a platter served with toast.
August 13th, 2009 at 9:13 amLawrence handled that interview beautifully. It just validates everything we have been saying about the right wing all along. Jon Stewart did a great bit about her appearance on Hannity.

August 13th, 2009 at 9:51 am
Are we looking at the next Joe The Plumber? This bimbo was asked if she became political at all after 9/11 and the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She said she didn’t really care…didn’t really care…she was busy doing other things like having babies. She is a real patriot. She didn’t care after 9/11 but by golly she cares now. Just another right wing idiot and I imagine being that she is a stay at home mother, her hubby must make over $250,000.00 a year, although she wouldn’t say when asked.
August 13th, 2009 at 9:57 amThis baloney of hers is pushed at almost every holy roller church these days.
They don’t discuss Jesus very much. Everything has to do with repiggie party policy.
August 13th, 2009 at 10:21 amWhy is she allowed to breed? Can’t we keep our gene-pool free from Neanderthols?
August 13th, 2009 at 10:39 amWhy do people like this get away with claiming to know what the Founding Father’s wanted? It’s ridiculous. And as much as I like Lawrence, he should have called her out on this.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:07 amMy guess is that she is a phony, a plant. I’m not even sure that Katy Abrams is this woman’s real name.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:13 amOh Katy, Katy, Katy. You poor child. Let me tell you this:
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y’all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives
War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives
I said, war, huh
Good God, y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It’s an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it’s got one friend
That’s the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life
It can only take it away
Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way
Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it
War, huh
August 13th, 2009 at 11:14 amGood God y’all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing
See this is what happens when stay-at-home mom’s kids are asleep or at school and empty nesters are bored, they start watching FOX and Glenn Beck.

August 13th, 2009 at 12:01 pmoh dear.
clearly when someone is pressed on most issues we’ll find most of our opinions are based on sensation and not fact based or analytical thinking.
i understand the frustration of the right, and their fears, however would like to see both sides feet held to the fire just like this.
i am a progressive person and totally support healthcare reform, yet i do not know what is best the country at large. the issue seems daunting and so complex that i cannot state unequivocally that single payer is the way to go.
what i do clearly understand is that healthcare costs are out of control. i do know that what is between me and my doctor right now is an insurance company that is more than willing to withhold coverage based on profit alone.
i think people like the young lady interviewed are no less smarter for being afraid of losing more coverage under a new system.
we are ALL clearly losing more and more each day. paying more for less. right now our system is a quantity over quality issue.
i hope the answer lies somewhere in between that we can ALL live with…both left, right, and independent.

August 13th, 2009 at 12:02 pmI’m not including this airhead woman when I say this, but you can’t say that a lot of the people protesting are only just now getting started. But they are just now being shown on national television.
Sure, there are plenty of dumb rednecks out there that just started protesting because we’ve got a muslim, arab, socialist, non-citizen in the white house, but there are hoards of people still out there protesting because they realize that nothing has really changed and not much will change anytime soon unless people wake up and realize what’s going on.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:07 pmThe GOP really has got no skillz at all anymore. Sending up these political noobs with nothing beyond a handful of stupid talking points as trolls in these town halls is not going to achieve a thing. I see much trumpeting of Obama’s weak polling on healthcare but the total omission that the same pollsters are not registering a correlating uptick in GOP approval. It’s not budging.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:18 pmI have an employee who talks just like Katy. Her husband tells her what to believe. She firmly believes the President is taking us into socialism and she can’t even define socialism. Her husband is a looser who can’t hold a decent job. She makes twice what he does. I asked her if she wanted to give up her social security and medicare in her later years and she said no, but she didn’t like either one of those programs. I try to wrap my brain around this kind of logic then I realize there is no logic to these people. Fortunately, God (I am a believer) does protect the stupid too.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:22 pmI love these political noobs who think that because they heard something scary on FOX that means they can pretend that they’ve pondered the tenets of national socialism versus free-market capitalism, or have any clue what any of the ‘isms they like to drop actually mean. This is amateur hour.
August 13th, 2009 at 12:26 pmI think she is a plant, also, too. A nice-looking rutabaga?
August 13th, 2009 at 12:27 pmMaybe a Plantain? :)
August 13th, 2009 at 12:37 pmHere’s a new trope for all the miscreants out there disrupting town halls: Neandertrolls
August 13th, 2009 at 12:51 pmIs she a plant? I don’t know. Is she a tool? World-class.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:03 pmThis poor woman had no business agreeing to this interview. Ignorant and wrong as she is, I still feel sorry for her.

August 13th, 2009 at 1:18 pmAnother republican MENSA reject . .
August 13th, 2009 at 1:23 pmYou’re making my point.
Apparently you’re the one watching MSNBC or something and thinking that anyone pissed off at the government is ONLY pissed at the current congress or the current administration, when it’s actually millions of people who are fed up with the whole damned system and have been for a long time.
Just because your favorite cable news network has painted anyone that’s against our corrupt system as birthers and racists, doesn’t make it so.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:25 pmI have to say how amazed I am to see how many stupid, misguided and misinformed people we have here in the U.S.!!!
August 13th, 2009 at 1:25 pmAlejandro, the bottom line is that your “arguments” consist mainly of using pre-packaged, corporate talking points that are outright lies and shouting them so that no one can discuss the issues civilly.
You’re not providing alternative ideas. You’re just freaking out and acting like buffoons. This lady barely has any idea what she’s talking about.
It really doesn’t matter what you have to say about it or whether or not you’re “winning” this particular battle. Because before this is over, some rightwing scumbag is going to shoot someone. That’s how you rightwingers like to resolve your problems, especially when you have no argument.
When a congressman or a non-birther/deather constituent winds up dead on the town hall floor, your “arguments” will be drowned out.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:43 pmIt is amazing how under-informed the people really are – how to you have a battle of wits with an unarmed person?
Well here’s what I found on her…

August 13th, 2009 at 2:41 pmKaty Weber Abram, Katie Weber Abram, does seem to advocate repeal of virtually all of government, especially anything since 1930: which is extremely offensive.
However, she is so polite, “please”, “thank you”, friendly,…. She claims that she travels w/ people w/ whom she disputes politics. She does manage to make rightwing extremist politics seem friendly. That does fascinate me. When a spokesperson, advocate, representative, salesperson, seems friendly, polite, other persons become more receptive.
So, what should be the reaction to a friendly reactionary, a polite extremist?
Is “… future where toilet paper was rationed,…” in any legislation? I do hope that that era would include much soap. Smell my healthcare? Healthcare piracy is full of it, er, no toiletpaper?
Townhalls seem to be prohibited in Desert Hot Springs: Jerry Lewis holds his too far away, & the next district is that of Mary Whitaker Bono Mack, who has none. Welcome to Coachella Valley, Riverside County. I do want to tell a townhall “Just say ‘yes’ “.
In the townhall pictures, between Ms. Abram & the cameras, is a shirt labelled w/ something about mob & men of balance. I do vaguely recall that similar shirts have appeared in similar stories this month.
Please, someone, reveal the meaning of this. What is it?
Lebanon? Beirut, Lebanon? Theistic rooted war?
——————————————————————————–
——————————————————————————–
That’s something to ask,….
———————————————————–
“The Founding Fathers also didn’t envision the Mormon religion either, Katy.”
———————————————————–
She’s Mormon? How does that fit w/ her husband making all of the major financial decisions?
In which neighborhood is eighty-grand per year “poor” & cardboard-box-roof–time?
I do wish that I could comprehend why msnbc has just interviewed one of the “send in your old gold” people; trash product-placement interview.

August 13th, 2009 at 3:00 pmAttn shoppers… our newest GOP/conservative prop is now on display on every right wing radio and TV show. Her name is katy and she is from the Keystone state. She is a stay at home mom and is just an average american gal who loves her country. (wait for the waterworks in three……two….. one….) OMG, what a tool. The next Joe the plumber is born. I missed this tart on the TV machine but caught her act today on the Glen Beck radio show. Evidently she stayed up until 4 in the morning to write Mr Glen a letter. Damn girl, get a life. It only took her about 1 minute for the run of the mill talking points to come out, socialism, nazism, obamaism. Then came the tears. No doubt a GOP plant. Cmon, 35 and never involved or cared about politics but been having political debates with her “friends” for a long time? Cmon lady, we aint that stupid. For those who have never lived in nor visited Pennsylvania. I have news for ya. We have our share of rednecks, idiots, racists, and losers. Example… Rick Santorum was elected senator. she is a perfect victim for the Right.
August 13th, 2009 at 3:26 pmIf her husband put her up to this debacle, then he’s a coward.
August 13th, 2009 at 3:42 pmThe other aspect of these town hall meetings that I find so interesting is the Left’s having to deal with their own creation. For decades they worked seniors into a frenzy every time the Republicans brought up the subject of Social Security reform. Numerous were the accusations of throwing Granny in the street. It was so effective that the program was dubbed the ‘third rail’ of politics.
Now they’re shocked, shocked that this same voting block is skiddish about proposed changes that may affect a different government program of theirs(Medicare).
You reap what you sew.

August 13th, 2009 at 10:13 pmThere isn’t going to be any money in Social Security when I retire because the Democrats have screwed it up. It all started in the Great Society of LBJ and its been going downhill since.
August 13th, 2009 at 10:16 pmFor those who did not read Shelly’s link at # 230, democratic underground says Katy has been participating in Glen Beck meetups since 2006—part of his “9/12″ campaign bs.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:59 pmI assume Ms. Abram isn’t in Mensa?
August 14th, 2009 at 2:48 amWhy don’t you ask Joe the Plumber for some toilet paper, lady? I’m sure he could oblige. Oh, that’s right. He’s not even a licensed plumber, and his name isn’t even really Joe. But somehow, the man is going to buy his boss’s business and make over $250k/year.
Rationing toilet paper has nothing to do with anything. Apart from the fact that one should be conservative with products anyway (paper, plastic or otherwise), I find the libertarian/conservative view of the world to be among the dumbest of the dumb.
No SS or Medicare?
What you’re basically advocating, is that you’d prefer this country to have a system of living where McDonalds and WalMart take your money and tell you what to do instead of a government that takes your money and tells you what to do. What’s the difference, you ask? You actually get a say in your government, AND, your government isn’t after profit.

It seems to me not only does our health care system need to be changed but our educational system as well. Because if she is the norm of what our schools are turning out then we are in real deep do do, up the creek and no sign of a paddle. Maybe she can tell me how my best friend who is total disabled, lives on less than $500 a month Social Security check, who could be repaired providing he comes up with approx $200 Grand for the surgery is supposed to survive with out a Social Security check that in its self is a joke. She is definitely a poster child for mandatory sterilization to protect the rest of us.
August 14th, 2009 at 7:42 pmblclem says:
Does it hurt to be as stupid as you are? Do you really think making bone ignorant statements as IF they were facts make you look like anything but an utter fool? Isnt it time for you to STFU and let the adults talk?
August 15th, 2009 at 8:01 amSo, when it comes down to it, little Katy had no problem with GWB starting a pre-emptive war to kill brownies OVER THERE, but is worried about Congress spending money to improve health care OVER HERE. Utterly stupid.
