Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, who is currently one of the leading opponents of health care reform as the head of FreedomWorks, is not above telling lies in his quest to derail President Obama’s reform efforts. In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Armey went further than usual, positing a paranoid conspiracy theory about how Obama will push reform through Congress:
Mr Armey, 69, predicted that the “grassroots” backlash against what he called Mr Obama’s “hostile government takeover of a sixth of the US economy” would cause the reform to fail spectacularly. But he predicted that supporters of reform would attempt to win over the “bed-wetters caucus” – a group of wavering lawmakers who spanned both parties, he said – with a fear campaign in the autumn.
“In September or October there will be a hyped up outbreak of the swine flu which they’ll say is as bad as the bubonic plague to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey. “That is the only way they can push something on to the American people that the American people don’t want.”
Armey also told the FT that FreedomWorks does not “recommend” that conservatives disrupt town halls, but the organization’s president has encouraged activists to be “aggressive” while their vice president has refused to try to “calm down” the angry protesters.
Why would a pants-pooper like Armey speak poorly of bed-wetters?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:03 pmWhat Vagina Navy thinks doesn’t matter.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:04 pmArmey: Obama will hype up ‘outbreak of swine flu’ to get ‘bed-wetters’ to support health care reform.
Too late, Dick. You guys got the bed-wetter vote all sewn up.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:04 pmDick Armey should change his name and change his game…time to retire Mr. Arm-band…
August 18th, 2009 at 6:05 pmThis comment has been voted down. Click to read.
Dick A is talking out of his own GNOP’s playbook. This is all they know.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:07 pmUh, didn’t the Swine Flu scare start on GWB’s watch ?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:07 pmFunny that Dick is accusing Obama of scaring bed wetters after doing the same in the past few weeks with DEATH PANELS.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:08 pmI thought you guys would never get around to posting about his comments, I linked to the story and posted an exert of Armey’s comments, Sunday afternoon and wrote to TP and Faiz.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:09 pmThanks for not answering.
“…to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey.
OUTRAGEOUS!
I can only assume that you are talking about our United States of America Senior CITIZENS?
What a pig! What a scum! What a worm! What a weezle! And, you sir are a Son of a B*tch!
You are a traitor to this country and a complete disgrace.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:09 pmWhere was the Dickster when Bush released his Pandemic Flu Plan?
That was Avian flu vs. Swine, but the plan’s are essentially the same. Rapid deployment of flu shots, stocking anti-virals, etc.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:10 pmDick Armey and his army of dicks.
yeah…..they would know all about bed wetting.
sick ‘em Rachel! lol

Where was Dick Armey in 2005?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:12 pmConsidering how much wingers love to predict the future it’s amazing how none of them managed to see that the towers would fall, Iraq would turn into a complete disaster, Chimpy would party while New Orleans drowned and the economy would turn into a big pile of doodoo. Maybe Dick and the boys should stop claiming to know what Obama is going to do and just let the adults clean things up.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:14 pmSwine Flu?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:14 pmIsn’t that what our health care system is suffering from, all those profit-maximizing corporate lobbyist porkers?
It’s just the ten millionth case of projection from the Republican party hacks. Republicans: the party of lockstep ignorant garbage. They do what they accuse others of doing, always. What keeps this stupid sideshow afloat? It might amuse some teenagers, but aren’t some of us a bit older and wiser? Better look for your lifeboat, because with this non-stop idiocy, we’re not going anywhere as a country but downhill.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:16 pmYo, Gypsy Dick. I was wondering if you could tell me who will win the World Series this year. Looking to put my 401K to better use by gambling. You seem to be good at predicting the near future, so I thought I’d ask your divine foretelling skills for some help.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:16 pmSo this Dick lets slip what he and his ilk REALLY think of their army of “grassroots” rabble they have roused with THEIR disinformation campaign.
Can you teabaggers say, TOOL. LOL
Peace :)
August 18th, 2009 at 6:17 pmMatt, that picture doesn’t look like Dick Armey.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:18 pmGuarantee this guy actually, literally, wet his bed at one point in his life. It’s called projection in psychology circles.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:19 pmhehehe… somebody’s really pissed off about about getting his
August 18th, 2009 at 6:20 pmbutt whupped by a lady on national teevee…
Do you have to be a sociopath to be in the repub party?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:20 pmWait, isn’t he one of the guys who vigorously supported the idea that we had to invade Iraq so we could fight the terrorists there instead of fighting them here. And hasn’t he been mouthing off about death panels. What a Cheney!
August 18th, 2009 at 6:22 pmArmey says — Scaring people with lies — he should know –that’s the republican way.
If we do have a global outbreak of swine flu and Obama takes steps toward prevention, look for more scare tactics from the right wigners — they’d prefer that people die from the flu — fewer persons needing medical insurance.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:22 pmAfter his run in with Maddow on Meet the Press and losing his job, you would think he has enough sense to fade into the background for a while. His credibility is shot and his law firm has tossed him because of Freedom Works because of the attention it brought to the firm’s pharmaceutical companies. He just keeps foaming at the mouth about the issue.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:23 pmMr Armey, 69, predicted that the “grassroots” backlash against what he called Mr Obama’s “hostile government takeover of a sixth of the US economy” would cause the reform to fail spectacularly.
And that’s the important part, which hasn’t gotten nearly the attention it should. How did health care/insurance end up as 1/6th of our economy? How much of that figure is profit for insurance companies & BigPharma? How much of it is pencil-pushing?
If the Wingnuts would just stop and breathe for a second, and let this sink in, they might understand what the real fight is all about.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:24 pmQuoting, from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
“You d|ck!” — Jeff Spicoli (played by Sean Penn)
August 18th, 2009 at 6:25 pmDick Armey’s a dick, leading an Army of dicks.
Fcuk the Republic Fascist Party
August 18th, 2009 at 6:26 pmThey talk about govern managed health care when it’s really government managed health care insurance.
They trust the profit motive over a social service motive?
Like a private for profit insurance company will have more conscience when it comes to paying for what you need?
Our culture is suffering from some severe form of insanity that folks whose thinking is so twisted would have a pulpit.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:27 pm“bed-wetters”?? – Could Armey be more infantile? Dick Armey is probably one of the biggest anti-AMericans, anti-Constitution idiots ever in this country. He may be rich, but so are Bush & Cheney. Armey is a dickwad, a stupid, ignorant man who cares nothing for country, but everything for lining his own pockets. A greedy, hateful, racist man. Sure, he’s rich, but he’s a childish, petulant, ignorant goof. He’s proof that rich & well-known does NOT equal intelligent & caring.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:33 pm…Aremy is trying to write the conservative fallacy side of history on Obama’s Adminastration’s. Now I see why their trying to dismantle the Texas school curriculum. The Repugs “dumb” down conservative education taking shape.
Armey you and your ‘limbots’ can shove this right up your arses. This is what ASA is funding and I’m sure AARP as well et al.
Let’s see how much money or H1N1 vaccine Perry will be asking the Feds for this fall?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:33 pmMake sure your lying ass is first in line (to get a flu shot) before grandma’s.
Rachael tore you a bigger butthole on tv.
YAY!
August 18th, 2009 at 6:35 pmHow many hypocrites will line up to receive socialized flu shots?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:39 pmDick Armey is swine flu.
As for bed wetters, Maddow had Armey crying for his mommy on MTP. I don’t know how he could ever show his face at the club again after that drubbing.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:41 pmWasnt Dick also pro-war and scare people into a war they didnt need?
August 18th, 2009 at 6:43 pmArmey was a bought off weasel in congress and some things will never change. He just works a different part of the brothel now.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:46 pmThese people need to be aware of the Hyde amendment [1976]. Government money cant be spent for abortion except in extreme cases that would endanger the mother.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_Amendment
August 18th, 2009 at 6:50 pm(Gasp) How could Obama do such a thing! I never…why that would belike, like making up some committee that passes death sentences on the infirm and elderly.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:52 pmHe’s still wearing his dirty pee-pants .
But seriously, I’m have a difficult time with the concept that those in the government who are elected to represent the people can flat out lie to their people, all people, and have no repercussions, no one at least calling them out on it. As near as I can tell they are at that point mis-representing their people and should just be fired, on the spot, no hand slapping, no cover-up by the msm, no, but he’s a Senator, we have to baby him. In the case of a public official who is in the process of doing his job, I can’t see lying as being a part of free speech. I have no doubt that I am probably wrong, I’ve been wrong many times before and will be again.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:52 pmAccording to the wingnuts, Obama’s health care plan won’t be in effect until 2013, so why the hell would he hype up swine flu today?
Armey is an idiot.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:06 pmConsidering all the loudmouth chickenhawks in the GOP, I reckon they’er the party of bedwetters.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:14 pmI bet they are all bed wetters. Whens the last time you met a badass liberal? LOL
queue dbadass in 3..2..1…
August 18th, 2009 at 7:25 pmThe thing that is really funny, sad, and pathetic all at the same time, is that the “folks” who are yelling and screaming and “against” health care/ insurance company reform, will end up without any health care plan at all. If premiums keep going up and costs continue to rise, most employers will start reducing thier coverage or stop offering this benefit all together. As soon as the competition stops offering it, every other business will stop. And guess what? THier reason, that it is too expensive, is legit. Each american pays more for every single service and product they purchase because of the cost of health care. Our nation is a nation of idiots. And sad to say, our current administration seems to be going down the path of idiocy as well. Sad, I had so much “hope” in the fall of 2008.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:32 pmOh, I see the Twelve Year old is back with his childish school yard taunts…
…TBA….ever been in the service….oh forgot…you’re not old enough….
…ever been in a War Zone crawling thru the mud with your trusty M16…
…oh forgot…you’re not old enough…
…so STFU, punk.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:34 pmConservatives walk around with bibles stuck to their faces pointing their fingers at everyone and then we find out they define marriage as: one man, one woman, a mistress, and a handful of girlfriends.
In other words…
Conservatives are hypocrites which makes them weak.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:34 pmI think mccain met one in the elections last november. You know, the one where the right lost just about everything. They aren’t so bad, they just growl like hyena’s.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:34 pmIs Armey familar with the expression:
August 18th, 2009 at 7:36 pmBe careful what you wish for, you just might get it ?
Oh wait WHO is already starting the outbreak, don’t blame President Obama you old looney goat.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:37 pmIf they are such badasses why do they need a gun?
Does Chuck Norris carry a gun when he makes public political statements?
August 18th, 2009 at 7:38 pmIt’s the standard Republican motto of “Do as I say not as I do.” So far the best example of hypocrisy from the Republicans to date!
August 18th, 2009 at 7:46 pmThe people that are already FOR reform couldnt be the bed-wetters he talks about because they are already for reform.
Dick is talking about people who are not decided yet…the townhall tasmanians.
Bwahaha.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:48 pmdick reminds me of an old fart who used the same handkerchief all day instead of a disposal tissue then expects his wife to wash those nasty things with everybody’s wash.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:55 pmI love how trolls talk about lilly-livered lefties.
Why have all but one congresscritter veteran from the 1st & 2d
Gulf Wars ran as democrats ?
I seem to remember Viet vet triple amputee Max Cleland being
August 18th, 2009 at 7:57 pmsmeared as a coward by his GOP opponent.
Armey is a sniveling, whining, gutter-crawling HACK..After Rachael DESTROYED him on Meet the Press on Sunday he’s gotta try something to justify his 1.7 MILLION DOLLAR RANCH in texas to his Freedomworks share holders!! This man will say anything for anyone for a price..
Once again, ARMEY IS A HACK !!!
August 18th, 2009 at 7:58 pm““In September or October there will be a hyped up outbreak of the swine flu which they’ll say is as bad as the bubonic plague to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey”
Kinda like the Republicans did when we had the anthrax attacks, push through the Patriot Act.
August 18th, 2009 at 7:59 pmThe republican party IS a swine flu epidemic.
August 18th, 2009 at 8:05 pmAll Obama has to do is rename the Bush WMD quarantine legislation…arent they about the same? Well, except for we havent started a ‘freedom mission’ on pigs for it
August 18th, 2009 at 8:07 pmIt occurs to me these very same town hall gun totin tyrants are the very same who hide under bed when a picture of Bin Laden flashed on the igmo tube.
August 18th, 2009 at 8:10 pmTAKE BACK AMERICA says:
Conservatives are such IGNORANT morons. You for instance are nothing but a mindless, brainwashed piece of sewage. Just STFU and let the adults talk.
August 18th, 2009 at 8:15 pmENOUGH BS FROM DICKHEAD ARMY!
I like what Robert Reich suggested in an interview on Politico: a march on Washington (and everywhere else in America) on September 13th – Grandparents day! Tell Dick Armey and the rest of the corporate shills to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. PUBLIC OPTION NOW!
Good, affordable healthcare is a Civil Right!
August 18th, 2009 at 8:22 pmleave dick alone you commie liberuls!!!!

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW OBAMA!!!CAN YOU HEAR ME!!
we shall overcome!
August 18th, 2009 at 8:30 pm[shakes head,turns off fox news]
O my god, what just happened to me?!?
August 18th, 2009 at 8:31 pmUnbelievable. So, what happens if swine flu does become a bigger problem in September or October? Will the idiots that believe Armey disregard the appropriate measures to protect their health? I hope not. I would hate to think that irresponsible behavior spurred by wild speculation and political sniping would undermine legitimate efforts to prevent an epidemic, thereby putting all people at greater risk.
In the event something like that does occur, I won’t hold my breath waiting for Dick Armey to retract his statement.
August 18th, 2009 at 8:44 pmwell… it’s pretty blatant this time…
the WSJ has shown really it’s true murdoch colors…
ObamaCare Is All About Rationing
Wall Street Journal – Martin Feldstein – ?1 hour ago?
Although administration officials are eager to deny it, rationing health care is central to President Barack Obama’s health plan.
found on the googlenews page…
August 18th, 2009 at 8:56 pmDick Armey is an army of one in his own mind… and everyone already knows he’s a dick… man is this guy living up to his own name or what?
August 18th, 2009 at 8:56 pmHere is a brilliant analysis piece on just who comprise the “Gang of Six” in the Senate, and how unrepresentative they are of the nation as a whole. Want to know which senators are most beholden to BigHealth? Go read Jerome Karabel’s background on and insight into these skanks.
PEACE
August 18th, 2009 at 8:58 pmWhat a profoundly unpleasant and selfish person.

August 18th, 2009 at 9:18 pmweird… i did not do that on purpose…
August 18th, 2009 at 9:21 pmexcuse the double…
Dick Armey will not be happy until all people over the age of 62 suffer and die penniless.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:39 pmBy the way, “aggresive” to Armey and others means to bring a semi-automatic rifle to a town hall meeting.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:42 pmSo if government does its job it’s all one big conspiracy.
Remember the one time government didn’t do its job? That was in no way intended to motion teh lazy blacks to take over their own disaster relief effort. Let Bush and McCain eat cake.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:43 pmFrom Dick Armey’s Wiki page:
August 18th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
They should take this guy’s health care coverage away so he would feel what it is like to be without coverage and choose between financial freedom and your health. This statement applies to everybody who is trying to vote down and derail this crucial reform of the health care system. It is totally outrageous that in the richest country in the world over 40 thousand people have to die each year because they cannot afford to go to see a doctor on time. Are you opposing health care reform? Just watch Sicko if you have not seen it yet and you will figure it out.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:48 pmThe only bed-wetters I’ve seen are all the shrieking, hysterical, gun-toting Repub “protesters”/terrorists that the GOP, Fox, & various Repub pundits have been encouraging to disrupt meetings by yelling, screaming, screeching slurs & insults, etc. You wet your bed, Armey, now lie in it.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:54 pmTAKE BACK AMERICA says:
Liberals are such cowards. I bet they are all bed wetters. Whens the last time you met a badass liberal? LOL
The greatness of America doesn’t run on aggressive rugby players in wiener-extending fast cars and trucks. Your red state survives because of the revenues out of the blue states-the nucleus of education, discovery, tourism & venture capital.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
August 18th, 2009 at 9:56 pmLiberals are cowards TBA? WHY?
Is it because we use common sense and know better than to bring loaded weapons to a presidential event?
Is it because we do not support the tarnished legacy of Timothy McVeigh and his “tree of liberty” sign carrying supporters?
Is it because we can carry on civil discourse without yelling like 2-year-olds or acting like bullies?
August 18th, 2009 at 10:02 pmBingo McWars at #81! :-)
Going to bed on that note. Nite nite everyone!
August 18th, 2009 at 10:07 pmWhat a putz!
August 18th, 2009 at 10:21 pmGood night, Kay! I’ll soon check the latest on your blog!
August 18th, 2009 at 10:25 pmWhy would any media outlet that wants people to trust its reporting ever bother to interview people like Dick Armey? The man is a documented liar, and he himself knows what lying to people can do. He tearfully admitted that the Bushies had called him into the WH and told him that Saddam had suitcase nukes ready to hand off to terrorists. That is what made Dick Armey support the invasion of Iraq. If lies could make him do an inhuman thing like that, why would he use them himself? Just because they work? Where is the honor in that?
Does the word ‘honor’ mean anything to the Republicans any more? We often hear that the military will always support the Republicans. If you know someone who is serving, ask them this: If Honor means so much to you, why would you vote for or support the Republican Party, a party that has done nothing but lie to you for the past three decades? (And if that person is serving in Iraq, mention that the lies put them in that Hellhole.)
August 18th, 2009 at 10:29 pmwe can’t all be corporate shills and lobbyists;
August 18th, 2009 at 10:34 pmthat’s why the gop will ultimately fail. It only works as long as there are enough real working people with enough resource to squeeze; law of diminishing return.
Eventually the tools of these greedy pigs will tip over and they will have to deal with an informed electorate.
TAKE BACK AMERICA says:
Liberals are such cowards. I bet they are all bed wetters. Whens the last time you met a badass liberal? LOL
If I had to guess (and I don’t have to, I just do it for fun), I would guess that you are what is called a Right-Wing Authoritarian Follower. You probably believe that the only way you lead people is to be tough and intimidate them, make them scared of you. You believe that ruling by fear is the only effective (and possibly even the only acceptable, to you) way to lead. You probably also believe, like Bush 43 did, that acting tough is the same as being brave; that putting down your opponents somehow elevates you over them; and that being in charge is more important than being right.
I would find you pitiable, if I cared.
August 18th, 2009 at 10:39 pmWhat a perfect example of projection by this guy. He shows himself to be a true far, far to the right Republican and one that gives Republicans a bad name at that. As A MODERATE Republican, I am constantly humiliated by the far right goofs who purport themselves to be the arbiters of Republicanism. This guy especially turns out to be a flake whose intellect is so faulty that he is simply a cartoon of what Republicans truly are. He and the stogy smoking Rush both act like they speak for all Republicans and alas, they DO NOT!
August 18th, 2009 at 10:47 pmArmey is another right tard who just shut up and go away — far, far away.
August 18th, 2009 at 10:59 pmTAKE BACK AMERICA , have you any worth while comments to post rather than these low life, childish, very stupid phrases even a 7 year old wouldn’t use? Do you really think we care if you call us bed wetters or cowards?
If you want some legitimate attention how about getting out of the garbage and post a post of substance?
August 18th, 2009 at 10:59 pmThe stupidity from TAKE BACK AMERICA makes my head hurt.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:01 pmI hate to say this and mean no disrespect, mari2RR, but do you really think that, as a moderate like myself, Today’s GOP has any use for you? It seems to me that the extremists are running the show and show no signs of moderation.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:29 pmThe sad thing is that President Obama keeps negotiating with himself. He has to know, as well as everyone on his staff, that republicans won’t vote for anything that democrats favor. So now Obama’s even hinting at removing the Public Option from healthcare reform. Why? Then where’s the reform? Republicans wouldn’t vote for it if Obama provided them each with a prostitute (well, they’d probably take the prostitute and still vote against it).
Here is an excellent article regarding how Obama is squandering his historic election and the congressional majorities he should use to his advantage, but doesn’t.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:37 pmSo Dick is saying that he doesn’t want a flu shot this year.
Good to know.
* Cough * cough *
August 18th, 2009 at 11:46 pmThey are afraid a large scale outbreak of swine flu would illustrate the overall lack of access to health care in the United States.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:48 pmIn 1998, during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, a reporter asked Dick Armey what he would do if he were in President Bill Clinton’s position. He replied “If I were in the President’s place I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be lying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, ‘How do I reload this damn thing?’”[4] This caused several of his former female economics students to go public with stories of his sexually harassing them — harassment allegedly so severe that at least one student transferred to another school. He would later divorce his wife and marry one of his students.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:00 amWhat a dick.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:04 amI resent the limbo Obama has put us in. Either he is for a public health plan or against it. Screw the senate…I dare them to vote against a public health plan as all eyes will be watching. We need to know with certainty just who the bad dogs are. And thank you Pelosi for standing up announcing you will vote against a bill that has no public health plan. The House has been strong and direct in message…. someone needs to be in the midst of all the ugly obscene behavior we have been subjected to.
If Obama backs down as it appears he is doing every other day, he is finished. The GNOP will use this as they did Hilary Care and mop the floor with it for the next 15 years smearing the dems.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:05 amMaybe old Dick here realizes how Bush used the swine flu vaccine Gov’t purchases from Donald Rumsfelds drug company That transfered tax payer funds to a private entity for profit.
Profiting off death and illness? Like the insurance companies?
August 19th, 2009 at 12:08 amDick Armey is a guy to have his feet held to the fire. He has a lot of baggage and he needs to start explaining a little at a time Rachel made him look like the fool he is.Get on top of him and don’t let him wiggle out of his lies.Beat on him like a drum. As Jack Webb said,”just the facts man”.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:09 amhad enough,
I’ve been writing the President every day, as well as my Congress people (who are worse than useless). I hope you have too, because you articulate your thoughts very well.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:09 amZooey,
When I do call, I think I scare the younger staff workers answering the phone. I try to be nice but I come across too direct. Yep.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:17 amThese days I think of teabaggers, birthers and deathers as a “swine flu” that has overcome the repiggie ranks.
August 19th, 2009 at 12:30 amFor more in depth teabagging and astroturf analysis check out unreasonablysafe.wordpress.com
August 19th, 2009 at 12:32 amOK, since the Armey of Dicks is allowed to lie in order to pander to their base, it’s now my turn.
On page 375, roughly, there is a clause that says colored folks will have to address their insurers and health care practitioners with the phrases yassah, massah, and yessum, missee.
Around page 2,129 there is a clause that says that the only abortions that will be covered will be post menapausal.
Somewhere near chapter 5 there’s a clause that anyone with brownish skin will have to show their long form birth certificate, endorsed by the mayor of the largest city within seventy miles of their place of birth.
Now, will you idiots vote for Health Care Reform?
August 19th, 2009 at 12:34 amSo are the people who voted for the Patriot act and the middle east wars and Spy tapping, and tax cuts and deregulation bed-wetters too? Yup, everyone wets the bed, especially if they are drunk… with power.

cd, there are rules to this business of name shifting. You can’t call him Vagina Navy. If you’re jumping off of Armey, you gotta keep that e – so it’s Vagina Navey. Gives it that real touch of class, cause instead of pronouncing it Nay Vee, you pronounce it Nah Vey, as is the case of his actual familial, which is pronounced Air Mey or Ahr Mey instead of R Me (that’s a rolled or extended Scots or Castilian Air/Ahr, instead of a nasal Texass R). As a Navy vet, I’d prefer that he not be called Vagina, because that does a disservice to women everywhere, but it’s your call.
I prefer to think of him as a health insurance industry shill and pimp. Just another bad apple that should have gone in the composter instead of on the market. Not that anyone will notice; his own fearmongering will keep attention elsewhere.

Liberals are such cowards. I bet they are all bed wetters. Whens the last time you met a badass liberal? LOL
Bush did a great job making bed wetters out of all you conservatives with the whole RAINBOW-colored terror alerts and worries about TEH HOMO-SEX-YOU-ALL AGENDA…

If they are such badasses why do they need a gun?
Does Chuck Norris carry a gun when he makes public political statements?
Xisithrus, I have a hypothetical answer to your first question and a Chuck Norris answer to your second.
Answer #1. They carry a gun so they can save the last round for themselves? Of course, since they’re all modeling their badassness on John Wayne or Clint Eastwood or some other movie dude with a gun, their confused little minds keep forgetting that it’s the hero telling the sidekick to save the last round for himself, not the other way round; that is, they’re pretending to be the hero, but taking the hero’s advice to the sidekick. I don’t know why that ’save the last round for yourself’ is particularly appealing to them, since both the hero and the sidekick always seem to be carrying an infinite repeater.
I know all that crap is kind of complicated and hard to understand and probably bullshit that I just thought of, but I really don’t want to insult the fracking guntoting wusses by reminding them that guns and knives and fighting are just a distraction from getting on with the real work of politics, which mostly involves writing and talking, neither of which they do well, especially when it gets down to communicating with people who have an opinion different from your own. I’m not bothered about insulting them on general principle, but simply because I’d rather focus on moving things forward or discussing the defects and improvements reflected in various political agendas instead of spinning my wheels in a flamewar.
As for whether Chuck Norris carries a piece when making public political statements, sure he does. He has a concealed carry “hideout” gun, a .44 Mangle-um Derringer, clenched between the cheeks of his buttocks, which he knows to be perfectly safe, because nobody touches Chuck Norris’s arse except Chuck Norris. Ah, that piece might actually be a Derriereinger.

Nothing like Dick Armey’s pottie talk to disgust Americans. Poor thing has no idea how repulsive his statements are. Further, I hold out little hope that he will be able to demonstrate any insight as to his lack of understanding.

If that’s indeed what he has, how nice for him that he has the kind of health insurance that he doesn’t think his fellow Americans deserve.
August 19th, 2009 at 5:50 amI am SICK of President Obama ceding so much control to Grassley and Baucus. I’m also TIRED of the media portraying Democrats and Progressives as not giving a damn about what’s going on in this immensely important debate. Enough is enough. I agree with Robert:
SUPPORTERS OF HEALTH CARE REFORM WITH A PUBLIC OPTION NEED TO COORDINATE A BIG MARCH ON WASHINGTON
Robert Reich, the former Labor secretary, scholar and commentator, called Tuesday for a “march on Washington” on Sept. 13, 2009 –”Grandparents Day” — in support of a health care bill that offers a public option.

Let’s do it!! Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Howard Dean, Congressman Weiner (who managed to expose Congressional Republicans hypocrisy on the issue of government-run health care by giving them the opportunity to repeal Medicare — and not a single one voted to repeal it) should get out there are promote this. Same goes for NetRoots. What do you guys think? Let’s show Clueless Katy Abram (Glenn Beck’s dutiful hack), what waking up a sleeping giant really looks like. We’ve done it before, we can do it again. If we give up, then these lying, vicious, hate-filled rightwingers will definitely win. We can’t let them defeat us!!!
(Sept. 13th is a good day to do this march for another reason… Republicans are going to be holding their own rally on Sept. 12th.)
August 19th, 2009 at 5:54 am*
Charming Man. This is the same SOB who insulted Joan Walsh of Salon too. Seems like a real progressive!
August 19th, 2009 at 8:56 amArmey’s statement is dangerous, reckless and irresponsible. If a serious outbreak occurs and people think the outbreak is nothing more than government “hype”, then people may die due to their neglecting to seek treatment because they don’t “trust government”.
August 19th, 2009 at 8:57 amIf FreedomWorks really wanted freedom, they wouldn’t be supporting the status quo.
August 19th, 2009 at 9:06 amThis is a classic case of “projection” i.e. accusing someone else of thinking what you’re really thinking. What Army refuses to see is that a tactic like this is something the REPUBLICANS would think up, not the democrats.
August 19th, 2009 at 9:41 amFor everyone thinking that conservative whack jobs are getting the best of us on health care take a look at this clip of Congressman Barney Frank answering one the crazies at a town hall meeting. I couldn’t stop laughing!

August 19th, 2009 at 10:29 am50 & 110. Xisithrus & Virtual Pebble say:…
More OT from 110. The insult business that I didn’t want to get into, Xisithrus, but will anyway, is that the gun business is a psychological tropism first described by the Freudians; well, the Freudians may not have been first, but they have one of the first adequate and best explanations.
Those (alleged) badasses have potency issues, not necessarily actual physical potency problems, but they feel disempowered. They may not even be conscious of that, at root, and if you ping them on it, they’ll deny it vehemently. In their reaction to that felt impotence, they turn to a display which, to them, signifies power. To put it slightly differently, carrying a weapon around, particularly a firearm, is an assertion of potence (and rage) in the face of felt disempowerment.
The demogogues that are running around telling people to take their country back and telling people that those nasty people over there with Obama are stealing the country are feeding that feeling of disempowerment.
To return OT, Dick Armey is busy pulling the strings of the demogogues.
August 19th, 2009 at 11:55 am“In September or October there will be a hyped up outbreak of the swine flu which they’ll say is as bad as the bubonic plague to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey. “That is the only way they can push something on to the American people that the American people don’t want.”
Is this anything like crashing planes into buildings to gain support for illegal wars and looting the treasury and raping the constitution? Just wondering.

That’s why Dick is projecting his tactics onto the Progressives. The Regressives spent years hyping up “terrorism” to support invading Iraq, and pushing the lies of ties between Saddam & al Quida.
Now he’s claiming that Progressives are going to do the exact same thing that Regressives did for years, and that’s “just wrong”. What a Dick Armey! ;-)
August 19th, 2009 at 12:09 pm131. Democrat Soldier sez:…
Exactly and too true.
But he’s rolling in big piles of sponsor money, so he doesn’t really care who he screws. Doesn’t even have to answer to a district full of pissed constituents any more. Life is hell, then you become a “consultant and lobbyist”.
August 19th, 2009 at 1:25 pmThis pig deserves to get the swine flu.
August 19th, 2009 at 4:25 pmArmey has got to be the ugliest human both inside and out, totally repulsive in every sense of the word. I just can’t think of another way to describe him and if I had birthed that idiot I would be totally humiliated.
August 19th, 2009 at 8:44 pmNot only does Armey exaggerate, he simply lies outright. He has no acquaintance with the truth of late and as a Republican, I am deeply offended by his disgusting rhetoric. He has no concern for people who need medical care and he is set to bulldoze any attempt to regulate his donors from the health care industry. Enough of his and others’ unpatriotic behavior and let us press on to secure medical care for all in this very wealth country. Let it be noted that we could have insured everyone for years with the money Bush and his cohorts in our party blew on the disgusting war in Iraq and Afghanistan that they ginned up. This Republican (yep even a registered one) is strongly for the public option in any health care reform. And if Republicans stand in the way of such a program, so many of us moderate Republicans will bolt the party immediately.
August 20th, 2009 at 1:12 amPersonally, I believe all the hype about H1N1 is a crock and a scare tactic by the WHO. The media is making it out to be something it isn’t to what point? The health care bill has no relationship with H1N1 and should not be used for such.
August 20th, 2009 at 12:25 pmIt is just the flu everyone, nothing more nothing less. Good grief, think for heavens sake and STOP believing everything you hear.
