Angry right boos John McCain for stating that Obama ‘respects the Constitution of the United States.’
Today in a town hall forum in Arizona, an elderly woman asked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) whether President Obama knows “that we still live under a Constitution.” To his credit, McCain distanced himself from the questioner’s claim, saying “I’m sure that he does.” He then added that Obama “respects the Constitution of the United States,” at which point the crowd broke out in loud boos. But McCain stood firm, explaining that there’s just a “fundamental difference in philosophy and about the role of government.” “I am convinced the president is absolutely sincere in his beliefs,” he said, again eliciting boos and jeers from the crowd. Watch it:
“He is the president of the United States and let’s be respectful,” McCain said in closing. That statement was met with light applause from the crowd.

He expanded use of private contractors for combat. That could be something. Stated before, but he hasn’t prosecuted war crimes of the previous admin, something else. I watched the entire McCain TH meeting. I have never in my life heard more ill informed comments on a specific subject. Even McCain realized that these people were completely out of touch and they were agreeing with him! How can we have any resemblance of a democracy when the people do not understand the facts of an issue?
McCain’s comments against healthcare reform were very weak to say the least. If you cannot trust a war hero to have enough integrity to at least stand up for the vulnerable in our country then we have a very sick perception of American ethical moral leadership.
I’m completely disgusted with the whole matter and I’ve never distrusted conservative motivations more.

It’s safe to say that the Democratic party has struggled to find an identity since then but they’ve remained viable even at their lowest.
The GOoPers, on the other hand, show no signs of returning to reasoned debate. Frankly I’m surprised that not a single one has even suggested a move back towards center. Indeed, the remaining dregs seem to be unable to see how far to the extremes they’ve gone and anyone who tries to bring it up gets expelled.
I sure can’t see how they can recover with any of the current players in place. They’ve become parodies of themselves and have no substance to ground themselves with now that they’ve been slapped down. It seems obvious that these people are enemies of American democracy. If they could get the current conservative majority on the Supreme Court to decide all future presidential elections as it did in 2000, I’ve got no doubt that they’d be OK with that.

These are the people who so-called fought for freedom, these people despise freedom, they despise decency and respect. These are the “we’re number 1″ crowd that believes that we can do no wrong and should never apologize when we do. These are also so-called religious people who only worship money and hatred, and John McCain is one of them except when he ran against GWB.
So for anyone willing to give John McCain any sympathy I ask you to rethink that and look at his total body of work, its quite disgusting, just like those who are his constituents, colleagues, admirers, and followers.
