RNC refuses to distance itself from far-right website.

Last Monday, Jon Henke at TheNextRight, a right-of-center blog, called for a conservative boycott of the far-right website WorldNetDaily (WND). Henke referred to WND as “the pamphlet” of the birther movement, which he has referred to as “fringe idiocy.” Following his call for the boycott, Henke discovered that the RNC had rented access to the WND e-mail list. Henke then e-mailed the RNC and ask them to stop supporting the far-right website. The RNC Press Secretary responded to Henke’s e-mail by dodging the issue and refusing to distance itself from WND:

Nice to meet you. Pls note that we have already weighed in on the birther issue — weeks ago. Thanks.

Henke e-mailed additional questions to the RNC but has yet to recieve a response. Reflecting on the Press Secretary’s comments, Henke writes, “In the 1960’s, Goldwater and a few Republicans had the integrity and guts to denounce the irresponsible fringe in the fevered swamps of the Right. Today, as far as I can tell, the Republican National Committee works with them.”

please please please, can some bold and patriotic conservatives step up and reclaim the Republican Party??

It scares me that we have these right wing neo-freaks who are using the once respected (more or less) name of the Republican Party…

  3. Virtual Pebble says:

RNC. Isn’t that the organization (if ya wanna call it organized) with Mr. Hip-Hop R, Michael Steele, at the helm?

Like their dear leader, the RNC has no decency, no ethics and pretty loose morals.

  4. P.D. says:

Well, the RNC is scraping the bottom of the barrel aren’t they? With Steele as a frontman, I didn’t think they could sink lower. Now they are courting the looniest of constituates, the ‘Birthers’ the ‘Tea-Baggers’. I sometimes think these people have totalily lost their mind. And you know why. Barack is black. These people have are bigots. They try to be subtle. But it is obvious.

    – - Some of the comments were “priceless.” To wit:

Gunnery Sgt D.C. Robertson threatened me with violence and wrote a lot of things that I’m going to redact.

“Jon,I hope you get a triple case of AIDS the next time you take it up the a**, you f*****g homo. You and your putrid ilk put that Comie n****r in the White House and accidently woke up the silent majority of white, Christain, tax-paying Americans. No longer will the soul of this great nation be intimidated by political correctness. You f****d up buddy and now you have a front row seat to see the newly awakened vanquish the cancer of fascism from this land. Oh, by the by, I do hope to meet you in person some day for a bit of attitude adjustment.Semper Fi, Motherf****r.”

The only way the Republicans can move back toward the center is when the ultra-conservatives destroy the party and election losses mount up on the state and federal level. They are well on their way to destroying the party because they cannot control the far right and Christian fundies who refuse any compromises on the party platform.

The REpublican National Committee, the WorldNutDaily, the Birthers, the Deathers, the Teabaggers, the Screamers, the RipVanWinklers, the Tenthers and the Seccessionists are all one small unhappy family. 77% of Americans polled want the public option, while only 6% want no change at all. So the Birthers, the Deathers, the Teabaggers, the Screamers, the RipVanWinklers, the Tenthers and the Seccessionists represent only about 6% of the population. Let’s therefore also refer to them as The 6percenters…

And don’t forget Her Nibs, Rep. Michelle Bachmann (Ridiculous – Minn) “It’s time to ’slit our wrists, be blood brothers’ to fight health care reform.” How about “blood sisters,” Ms. Michelle?

Surprise, surprise! The troll didn’t read the statement he’s babbling about. Here’s the first bit:

    The Statement

We Want Real Answers About 9/11

On August 31, 2004, Zogby International, the official North American political polling agency for Reuters, released a poll that found nearly half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of those in New York state believe US leaders had foreknowledge of impending 9/11 attacks and “consciously failed” to act. Of the New York City residents, 66% called for a new probe of unanswered questions by Congress or the New York Attorney General.

In connection with this news, we have assembled 100 notable Americans and 40 family members of those who died to sign this 9/11 Statement, which calls for immediate public attention to unanswered questions that suggest that people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.

A careful reading will reveal that the Statement makes no assertions of guilt. It’s simply an appeal for investigation into questions that remain unanswered to this day.

    ——————————————————————————–

I might add that the need for political/ideological purity of the last Administration is dead and gone. Considering the results of the last shot at “one party rule” and the disasters it created I welcome people of all Faiths and persuasions to our government. It’s long past time for new ideas and fresh thinking. And if the person with the “best” idea is a Marxist, a communist, an Anarcho-syndicalist or a real live Martian invader from the 9th Dimension, I’m willing to listen.

You see, stupid troll, we rational people don’t fear different ideas, or people for that matter, just because their different. We embrace them and try to learn in our attempts to build the best World we can. The old ways of shutting out non-conformists have failed.

That’s why Jones is running away from it as fast as he can. He knows you guys are broad-minded on Trutherism

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/controversial-obama-administration-official-denies-being-part-of-911-truther-movement-apologizes-for.html

A top environmental official of the Obama administration issued a statement Thursday apologizing for past incendiary statement and denying that he ever agreed with a 2004 petition on which his name appears, a petition calling for congressional hearings and an investigation by the New York Attorney General into “evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur.”

Van Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is Number 46 of the petitioners from the so-called “Truther” movement which suggests that people in the administration of President George W. Bush “may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.”

In a statement issued Thursday evening Jones said of “the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.”

He did not explain how his name came to be on the petition. An administration source said Jones says he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name.
