On Thursday, Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks partnered with an anti-health reform group pushing to privatize Medicare to host a Republican rally outside the Capitol. Alongside speakers such as Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Armey proclaimed, “Give me liberty or give me death. Well, Barack Obama is trying to make good on that.”
Speaking to reporters and ThinkProgress after the rally, Armey pretended that the upcoming 9/12 anti-Obama march on D.C. was entirely “grassroots,” and that his corporate-backed group only provided “consulting.” In fact, most of the groups paying for the rally are front groups and phony think tanks fully-funded by big business to create an image of public and academic support for their special interest agenda. One of the most visible organizations mobilizing the protest this Saturday is the Tea Party Patriots group. As Talking Points Memo has reported, the Tea Party Patriots’ listserv is managed by FreedomWorks staffer Tom Gaitens. Not only is the list managed by FreedomWorks, but Armey’s staffers have final say on decisions such as the logo for the event this Saturday. Tea Party Patriots does not even hide its close affiliation with corporate front groups, since it lists FreedomWorks as a coalition partner. The Tea Party Patriots listserv was used to distribute the infamous memo from a Tea Party Patriots volunteer detailing how town hall attendees should “rattle” Democrats by interrupting their events with coordinated yelling and shrieks.
When ThinkProgress asked Armey about this close relationship with the Tea Party Patriots, he erupted in rage. He also denied even knowing his own employee:
Q: Mr. Armey you said you have no affiliation with the Tea Party Patriots group that’s organizing this rally, but isn’t it true that your staff members manage the Tea Party Patriots list serv?
ARMEY: Absolutely not.
Q: So Tom Gaitens is not connected to your–
ARMEY: Who? First of all who is Tom Gaitens?
Watch it:
Armey proceeded to call the ThinkProgress reporter a “juvenile delinquent.” Armey has lashed out before at critical questions, attacking Joan Walsh, saying “I am so damn glad you can never be my wife ’cause I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that babble from you every day.”
Gaitens — who helped organize the very first pilot “tea party” protests in February and demanded that “folks … need to intimidate Congress” — is listed multiple times on the FreedomWorks’ website as the Florida Outreach Director for Armey. He has not only won awards from FreedomWorks, but he also helped organize a tea party this year where Armey was the main speaker.
Of course, Armey’s deception is the very basis on which FreedomWorks gins up support for its causes. FreedomWorks maintains several other domain addresses to promote tea party events. Last year, the Wall Street Journal exposed FreedomWorks for building “amateur-looking” websites to promote the lobbying interests of Armey.

Like this country is NOT being overtaken by the FASCISTS.
Got Activist JUDGES?
Can you say HYPOCRISY?
“Chief Justice Roberts and several of the court’s more conservative justices seemed frustrated with the complex state of modern campaign finance law and appeared ready to take bold action. Justice Sotomayor, like some of the court’s more liberal members, seemed inclined to take a narrower approach.”
Hey Roberts you F UCKING enemy of the state:
Corporations DO NOT VOTE, SHOULD NOT VOTE, and WILL NOT VOTE, ERGO, THEY SHOULD HAVE NO RIGHT TO IMPACT THE VOTING PROCESS. Oh and BY THE WAY, THEY ARE NOT PERSONS. THEY DO NOT BLEED, THEY CANNOT BE KILLED, THEY CANNOT BE FED CREME BRULEE’
In legality terms CORPORATIONS = Robots. If you make laws governing robots, it will automatically cover Corporations.
1) Corporations should never harm humans
2) Corporations will self destruct if they attempt to violate law #1
3) Coporations will ALWAYS put the life of humans above the Corporation.
This list can just grow and grow.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:16 amGlenn Beck said today will be the ‘largest gathering of fiscal conservatives’ in all of history. Really Glenn? I think you might be mistaken…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGhdX1SI3KY
September 12th, 2009 at 9:27 amSeems to me the “grassroots fiscal conservatives” and the German “grassroots fiscal conservatives” are made from the same cloth.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:29 amThis corporate insurgency needs to be countered by humans.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:32 amIs Glen Becky going to be upset and cry if the Tea-baggers upstage his 9/12 party……What’s that you say?….they’re all one group anyway?….O.K., sorry I asked.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:34 amDid you guys hear? Glenn Beck will be talking to his worshipers on one of the big jumbotrons at today’s rally. He recorded this piece on HIGH ATOP ROCKEFELLER CENTER (you know, the Communist Bastion of New York City!) because he says it’s a beautiful spot and thought it would be the best background for the uber super secret plan he’s going to divulge in getting the nation back! He’s going to stand on a Communist building to make this speech? Bah hahahahahahahaha! Too funny!
September 12th, 2009 at 9:37 amwell, i’ve got to know – which one of you TP reporters
is a “juvenile delinquent”…?
ha! that’s cute… keep on it, kid!
September 12th, 2009 at 9:41 ami should say, “kid”… (in quotes… no disrespect intended)
September 12th, 2009 at 9:41 amKay, Beck is just too much of a pussy to stand in the rain like PRESIDENT OBAMA did yesterday to honor those fallen at the Pentagon.

http://www.marktalk.com/blog/?p=7110
Awwwwwww, how sad. The fascist conservatives are fighting with each other. I hope today at the big rally someone yells out, “Look! A liberal!!!” and they all start shooting and killing each other. That would make for excellent television!

September 12th, 2009 at 9:46 amPresident Obama is brave! Glenn Beck is a woosie. BLECK has said time and again that when the revolution starts he won’t be with them. Nice leader he is, huh? Can’t even stand in the rain let alone be there when he creates his own mess!
Man, I hate the man with every ounce of my being.
Love, love, love President Obama and his family! :-)

I wonder if he and Sen. Crybaby Boner share a “double-wide” tanning bed and hold hands in there.
After all, they are both “double-wide” fascist a$$h0les.

THIS IS A CORPORATE INSURGENCY.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:57 amI wonder if Blecky will tell his people that he’s talking to them high above the Communist Bastion of New York City? Nope! That would be a little embarrassing and ironic for ole Blecky so he’s gonna keep his mouth shut about it! LOL
September 12th, 2009 at 9:59 amI wonder if the neck droolers realize that Freedom Works is the right’s ‘Moveon.org’ except Freedom Move On Works is a domestic terrorist group headed by the traitor, Dick Armey? Oh wait! They don’t care. Spit.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:01 amMore great pics! Thanks. George Bush the fascist would have had his assistant executed later in the day for not holding an umbrella over him.

September 12th, 2009 at 10:09 amfrom counselor’s first link @9:
WASHINGTON – On his first 9/11 anniversary as president, Barack Obama urged Americans to come together in service just as they united after the terrorist attacks eight years ago.
“We can summon once more that ordinary goodness of America, to serve our communities, to strengthen our country and to better our world,” Obama said at a memorial at the Pentagon.
i s’pose you all heard about limpballs’ twisting this around into the dreaded ‘national service’ or some such idiocy…
sick… sick and ugly.

September 12th, 2009 at 10:28 amThe Olbermann-obsessed troll who loves Keith so much he named himself Rebecca Lobo has returned to beg us for more negative attention.

September 12th, 2009 at 10:41 amOh my, the wild and crazy Dickster must be a real dyed-in-the-wooleys Christianist – just like the Disciple Peter, he has denied His Servant three times before breakfast…
When you’re out there trying to steal your fellow citizens blind and working to assure the country is safe for your corporate clients to rape, loot and pillage without impedance or fear of their impunity being called, you are NOT going to be truthful about it. It isn’t even news.
What surprises me is that he has the brass cojones to show up in public.

September 12th, 2009 at 10:44 amy’know, i have no doubt that 90% of the people who show up

THEY ARE MAD AT THE WRONG PRESIDENT!
but, they do understand those deep seated racist feelings
September 12th, 2009 at 10:49 amand that makes it easy to be hateful… and ignorant…
I dunno if I would quite call it fascism,,,Hitler used government to tak eover business, here we have big business that has, basically, take over control of the purse strings [senate/house]
Klepto-Corprat-O-cracy seems to fit better seeing as they are all battling as to who can get the most slop from the trough.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:49 amAnd when they finally suck the sheeple dry…
End of empire

September 12th, 2009 at 10:54 amHow come they are only fiscally conservative after they have destroyed Iraq,Afghanistan and America and when we happen to have a Democrat in the White House that has to stimulate the economy after the Re-pukes and their fiscal conservatism…..
Lying %$#@ing HYPOCRITS!!!!!!
Can you say,Hypocritical Fiscally Conservative!!!!!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 10:55 amWeird isnt it, 3k people die on GWB watch and he stands out in public like he is some kind of hero. That, to me, defies all logic.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:55 amPresident Obama has kept this country safe from a terrorist attack longer than George W. Bush.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:56 amI would like for these so called fiscal conservatives to point to an administration of wingnuts that was ever fiscally conservative. It wasn’t Ronnie Raygun who ran a deficit and started this cycle of deficit spending, and it wasn’t either of the Bushies so who the hell can they give us as an example of their vast fiscal conservative knowledge. They are lying hypocrites who are unable to accept the result of last years election where they got their sitting down places handed to them. Now I have much football to watch today.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:57 amDick Armey takes full advantage of “socialized medicine” to treat his diabetes and his heart problems.
Perhaps if that slimebag weren’t so fat and so out of shape, he could wing it without taxpayer assistance for all his many medical costs.
That tub of lard should start eating fruits and vegetables, lay off the carb and sugar slop, drop his “socialized” health care that seems to bother him so much, and hope and pray that he doesn’t get sick.
That way, he will understand what the average citizen goes through on a daily basis.
Screw that fat clown, screw the repiggies, and screw the teabagger trash.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:58 amZooey,They are trying to rewrite history on this one,Again…..
September 12th, 2009 at 10:58 amHere is Beck with the teabaggers protesting for the very folks [privatization, lobbying, subsidisers, free marketers] that have racked up a good part of the federal debt.
BWAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAAA

Its like all the suckers born every minute are about to clash in DC
September 12th, 2009 at 10:58 amPresident Obama will never out-do George W. Bush’s death toll.
September 12th, 2009 at 10:59 amChristopher, they have to blame someone and it isn’t going to be George Bush, Dick Cheney or any other fascist capitalist, see? Blaming themselves would make them feel bad about themselves. I remember them applauding everything George Bush did. When 9/11 happened they blamed Bill Clinton for not getting Osama bin Laden, but had no problem with George Bush talking about Saddam/Iraq from January 2001 to 9/11. See? With this in mind, George Bush didn’t capture Osama so that means the next 9/11 attack won’t be a surprise and we can blame George Bush!
September 12th, 2009 at 10:59 amFrom wikipedia.org about the Dick Army:

Well, It was Abramoff, Ralph Reed, and Scanlon that called them ‘conservatives’ wackos. They did the same as today, throw a bunch of red meat fear, cries of socialism, communism, fascism, you name it, secret muslims etc etc ad naseum, to get the wackos out to oppose something so they can slide some legislation under YOUR nose.
JAJAJAJAJAJAAAAJAJAJAAAAA!!

Oh Hi Says Who. I thought I heard something from that dust speck. I promise to protect it from boiling…
September 12th, 2009 at 11:11 amI know! Isn’t it a riot? They’ve stood on the sidelines for decades watching our country go to hell, calling us liberals traitors for protesting against their fascist capitalist Pigs, and then when they spit out their tooth and get off the couch to protest, they use SOCIALIST SYMBOLS AS THEIR RALLYING CALL!
Too funny. I think I’ll laugh to myself all day to entertain myself. LOL

September 12th, 2009 at 11:14 amGlenn Beck is always talking about MLK and will say things like, “I may not get there with ya”, meaning….Bleck is afraid the liberals will kill him once he gets to the top of the mountain! What the hell. Bleck will most likely hire a hit man to kill himself with and blame it on the liberals. But hey! For right now, it makes sense to Glenny to compare himself with the plight of Martin Luther King!
Seriously, the fascists have no knew ideas. They have to copy us liberals/Democrats because they’ve got nothing!
September 12th, 2009 at 11:14 amBoy, that Sez Poo, doesnt much know history…

Thanks ,
September 12th, 2009 at 11:24 amChris
Exactly! If the wingnuts storm the White House/Capital, take it over, and burn it down….Blecky doesn’t want his domestic terrorist group attached to it! But if the day goes well today, on Monday he will be saying, “The first ever 9/12 Project was a huge success! So proud to have created this group!”.
See?
September 12th, 2009 at 11:24 amChristopher, we are very proud of Bath Iron Works here in Maine, because they build the most unbelievable/historical ships for the military and they always do it on-time and under budget:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_Iron_Works
Collins loves these steel workers (as we all do), but if a small business that does welding wants to form a Union, she would be the first to be publicly against it. See? SHE LOVES THAT FEDERAL CONTRACT MONEY AND ANYONE WHO IS ATTACHED TO IT!
September 12th, 2009 at 11:28 amX,After we rebuild these 3 country`s it will be trillions spent, but like I have said before, after the re-pukes rewrite history, it will be the tax and spend democrats that caused it not G.W.B war and tax cuts.Speaking of tax cuts let`s repeal Ray Guns tax cuts and then we will be able to fund MEDICARE for all in this country.
September 12th, 2009 at 11:29 amRonnie Raygun was the president of SAG during contract disputes and caved in to the studio bosses after they offered an extraordinary real estate deal to him for a large tract of studio held property that became his “ranch.” His deal left TV actors WITHOUT residuals for years. He was a corporate, fascist sell-out and phucked the union members.
He was also a “rat” during the McCarthy blacklisting era.
September 12th, 2009 at 11:30 amKay ,Thanks for the info.I had a feeling it was somehow attached to Federal $$$$$$$$$.
September 12th, 2009 at 11:31 amThe sad part is the other networks make it sound as if this is a grassroots or close to grassroots protest. I saw on CNN they interviewed two protesters who acted as if this was the first time they have ever been to a protest and also they acted as if they had now idea that this was going to happen!
September 12th, 2009 at 11:32 amDixie, It`s amazing how fast the Re-pukes change sides. In less than 20 years Ray Gun went from a socialist Democrat to Re-puke Fascist……..

September 12th, 2009 at 11:37 amWhen America is attacked brutally again by the fascists, I hope President Obama’s response is what we should have done after 9/11/01:
Mourn our dead, rebuild, and never forget.

Country Club Conservative says something stupid

September 12th, 2009 at 12:01 pmTimmeh,Wher were you when the Shrub statrted his war based on lies, deciet and misdirection that has killed our brave soldiers, thousands of Iraqi and Afghani civilians and sent millions into refuge in other country`s, why weren`t you protesting then?
September 12th, 2009 at 12:04 pmTimmeh ,I`m waiting.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:08 pmDick Armey is the five star general of the Dick Army.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:12 pmCountry Club Conservative
more like garbage can conservative.
Where’s my era of prosperity that cutting taxes and deregulating were supposed to usher in?
September 12th, 2009 at 12:13 pmHey Trolls lets repeal Ray Guns and the SHRUBS tax cuts for the wealthy that you SHEEPLE shill for and that will pay for medicare for all or are you TENTHERS to?If so make sure you tell your elderly, low income and your brave soldiers why you need to cut their gov`t run health care, because you had to privatize your state services because you left the United States of America because we have a black democrat in the White House.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:13 pmArmey is a dick who seems to think he never has to answer for anything he does or says and when caught in a lie or a hrd question he always reverts to being a bully.
He acts like he is in 1st grade.
What was it Van Jones said about Republicans?
September 12th, 2009 at 12:13 pmReally, those conservatives need to learn to use the Google better because the facts are there, the dems have been more fiscally responsible since before Reagan.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:13 pmAnd yet, you’re still a racist!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:14 pmHow come you trolls don`t like the truth?????? And don`t have the brass to answer any questions!!!!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:14 pmfunny story – my neighbor expressed his fear of george soros
September 12th, 2009 at 12:15 pmand AirAmericaRadio (an oLIElly fan, no doubt), but had no idea
who rupert murdoch was!
Good luck with that, christopher wiwi.
Tim43 has always been a gross ignoramus — 144 times worse than the ordinary ignoramus.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:16 pmAre the SHEEPLE/trolls hiding in their caves with Osama or what, where did they go? What a bunch of Nancy girls they are, they don`t like the truth!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:16 pmHey Zooey maybe Timmeh is in the closet rewriting more history!!!!AGAIN!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:18 pmchristopher wiwi,
Don’t be insulting girls now… ;)
September 12th, 2009 at 12:18 pmWow, Tim43, thats quite a broad generalization brush your using to brush people into camps of your making.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:19 pmSorry Zooey, can I call them SKIRTS?
September 12th, 2009 at 12:19 pmHi Tim43
September 12th, 2009 at 12:19 pmPineapples are not indigenous to Hawaii….
You know Timmeh, if the teabaggers would lose the astroturfers I wouyld probably be there with them, but when they are being used in a false flag type way, I aint about to help the kleptocracy create more subsidies for private insurance and corporate tax cuts.

The right wing terrorists have gone international. Get ready to see nazi’s in the streets of America, it’s coming:
The violence that has hit Luton, Birmingham and London in the last few months has involved a loose collection of far-right groups
September 12th, 2009 at 12:22 pmT-bone, Let`s start with repealing the Ray GUN and Bush tax cuts fro the wealthy to pay for medicare.$38 billion is not a whole lot money, let`s cut spending to the Military Industrial complex to.Medicare for all none left out.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:26 pmt-bone So you just joined because you wanted to:
because that’s what you did. Irony, the right just doesn’t get it.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:26 pmt-bone’s approach reminded me of that scene in Raiders when,
after the swordsman performs his magnificent sword act,
Indiana Jones just shoots him gone…
whoo! i’m gonna go bake some cookies form my mama…
September 12th, 2009 at 12:27 pmleave the trooll slaying to the pros…
t-bone says:
September 12th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
We pay for it already, in a highly inefficient manner. I guess you’re ok with that.
BTW, you’re not the first “guest” here who has tried to dictate how we will act, and you will not be the last.
Here’s a hint: If you don’t like the way we respond to uninformed commenters — don’t lead by calling us idiots. It exposes you as a hypocrite, at the very least.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:28 pmt-bone’s really funny bone.
First he insults us and then tells us to be nice.
I’m telling you my irony meter is off the scale.
No one is going to take you seriously dude, that is if you are really over 10 years old.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:28 pmT-Bone where are you, rewriting history or what?Come on I have to go to work soon.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:29 pmBesides, we already have our own “tbone,” and he/she is smart.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:30 pmt-bone seems to think that it is us that have some explaining to do. Odd, the left didn’t just bankrupt the country.
Maybe t could tell me when that era of prosperity is supposed to arrive that was going to be created by tax cuts for the rich and deregulation.
Now be nice tboner. Just answer this one question directed at you and then we will see if we can clear the air on some of your other misconceptions.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:31 pmYou know if the Shrub hadn`t squandered Clinton`s $280 billion surplus Medicare would be in a surplus to!T-bone where are you?
September 12th, 2009 at 12:32 pmbrothejr says:
The sad part is the other networks make it sound as if this is a grassroots or close to grassroots protest. I saw on CNN they interviewed two protesters who acted as if this was the first time they have ever been to a protest and also they acted as if they had now idea that this was going to happen!
The truth most of the folks there probably do feel like this is “grassroots” uprising. They are doing because of Glen Beck or their friends or the folks at church. A good amount have no idea who is bankrolling the teabaggers.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:32 pmThe thing I don’t get about this 9/12 stuff is that I thought it was supposed to be about getting back to where we were as a country on 9/12…but all I have seen is a lot of hate from the gov’t, hate for the President and hate for the election process.
T-bone and Timmeh are running away………just like all trolls, running away from the truth with their tails between their legs.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:33 pmWell, I would start by pointing out the projectionist things [non-factual opinionating] in your post. Until you stop pinning your imagination on others then maybe we can discuss with facts
September 12th, 2009 at 12:35 pmIt seems that none of our trolls have the integrity to stay and defend their high sounding morals.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:35 pmWell TeaBore, lets start with a little history. What president, in 1974, was for health insurance reform?
Clue: Watergate Hotel.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:37 pmFred, I would say we hurt their feelings but them being trolls/Sheeple they don`t have feelings until Flush,Becky and Billo tell them to.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:37 pmGeorge Bush’s taxcuts for the wealthy SUNSET NEXT YEAR. Ha ha rich people! Maybe you’ll go back to paying 75% tax rates instead of the 35% or less you’ve been paying!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:40 pmAnother history question foe T-Boner.
Duirn the GWB presidency, how many jobs were created in those eight [2000-2008] years?
A: A bazillion
September 12th, 2009 at 12:40 pmB: 8 million
C: 50 million
D: None
I suspect that it’s much simpler than that.
They dropped in and made several statements that they know they can’t support or prove because that’s really all they have.
They are just turd droppers.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:40 pmThe trolls must have gone off to change their soaking pee pants.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:41 pmX, The Bush Crime family created plenty of high paying jobs for Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater while our fine soldiers made chump change.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:42 pmFred,How about Turd dropping Trolls!!!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:44 pmFact: You are a troll-a$$ moron. Using your hateful, idiotic post above that is devoid of facts, prove me wrong. No insults, just the facts…right? Dipsh|t!
September 12th, 2009 at 12:44 pmThrough the troll fest did anyone take a minute to check the link I placed at 129?
It looks like this right wing terrorist/facist thing is bigger than just here in America.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:44 pmIll make it easy for you T-Bore. Post an statement by O’Reilly, Savage, Beck, Hannity and lets see how those ‘facts’ stand up.
September 12th, 2009 at 12:45 pmPoor old Dick Armey…such an abused bigot… KEEP BANGIN ON HIM!!!
Its amazing how the NeoNut Hate Machine can gen-up so many people to hand out koolaide for them (after consuming as much as they can first)..Let’s take the two issues that seem be generating this level of ignorance..
1) Spending – Yup, we have spent a boat load over the last few months for a couple of things – Brace-up for the banks/financial sector. If we had done NOTHING which is what these morons re advocating, the WORLD would be in turmoil/disaster mode TODAY and these clowns would be walking the street because they had no where else to go versus carrying a sign for Beck and Armey..
2) Health care – So let’s see..the people that have health care (Medicare and Medicaid) want no government interference from the Govt..This is the dumbest of all reasons cause the government already runs these programs. Second, people with NO insurance don’t want any help, they’ll jut go to the emergency room – Life span estimate – 42 years if that’s all they have. Third, those who have health insurance and want no changes – have you spent anytime researching what the various proposals have in them for terms and conditions?? Nope – didn’t think so. Well I have and NOWHERE in any of the proposals are there ny provisions that will effect you AT ALL.
Need to do a little homework dirtbags before your neonut masters feed you more fertilizer in your cheerios…You folks truly have been sold a bill of goods.. Hope you get what’s comin to ya.
Oh, and we haven’t even mentioned the BILLION-DOLLAR-A-DAY WARS !!! So, add that into you back-ass-words math and ask you pal Dick Armey to explain how he left that part of the calculation out…stupid jerks…
September 12th, 2009 at 12:50 pmWhy do the trolls always show up here trying to reinvent the white-wing weasel (sic)?

September 12th, 2009 at 1:08 pmThe free markt require some 13 trillion in loans and guarantees to keep the ponzi scheme [wall street] afloat
During Dubyas Term 4.79 trillion was added to the deficit.
Bernanke is dumping another trillion in the equities market and monetizing [printing money to buy treasuries] some 350 billion in debt, and now, just now they are finally getting around to getting those ‘toxic assets’ off the banks balance sheets.
Capitalism, in the true spirit of the word works. Empires built on fiat paper, the unacceptable face of capitalism, does not.
September 12th, 2009 at 1:11 pmuh, many of us are white Christains.
We just despise haters and that means you.
My irony meter is pegged this morning.
September 12th, 2009 at 1:12 pmT-Bone said no insults and only facts. Please provide less of the former and more of the latter and drop the projectionism. Thanks [8^B
September 12th, 2009 at 1:13 pmBy the way timmy, how much does the right wing really love Christains?
They had full control of our government, pres, both houses of congress and the supreme court and yet they did nothing that the Christains had stated were important to them. Why?
September 12th, 2009 at 1:13 pmThe word liberal has nothing to do with being unreligious. Its a mythical bit of bilge pumping supplied by pundits.
BTW it was the republicans, Ralph Reed, Sacnlon, Abramoff that called the evangelists and fundamentalists “wackos”
September 12th, 2009 at 1:16 pmThey call them ‘wackos’ because they use them, throw them red meant, get them out to oppose something, so it slides legislation under their noses because they fall for the same trick every time. Fill them with fear and watch them go.
Its exactly the same method used to get the folks out at the townhalls yelling and screaming like Springer guests.
September 12th, 2009 at 1:19 pmI saw a right wing protest sign at the DC rally that stated:
“GOVERNMENT, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY BODY!”
So this means the fascist Christian conservatives are absolutely fine with abortion now and don’t like the idea of the government controlling a woman’s body! Wow. We found the only piece of common ground with these asswipes. I can’t wait to tell them!
September 12th, 2009 at 1:20 pmGlenn Beck is interviewing a fake liberal at the moment! *shaking head* HIS VIEWERS WILL BELIEVE, THOUGH, THAT ON THE MORNING OF 9/11 SHE WAS A LIBERAL AND AFTER THE ATTACK WAS OVER, SHE ASKED, “How did this [the attack] happen?”, and her husband/boyfriend said, “BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR LIBERAL FRIENDS!”. LOL Oh yeah right! Like a real liberal would have responded like this woman just did, “You’re right!” and then become a fascist jackboot licking Brownshirt!

September 12th, 2009 at 1:54 pmThe difference between Nazis and Fascists is the direction of control.
Nazis run the companies for the good of the government/war machine.
Fascists run the government to their advantage and profit through unchecked corporations.
We have corporations running our government/war machine with PACs and bribes and control over the media. That makes this a corporate, fascist society at this time.
You are not smart.
September 12th, 2009 at 1:58 pmActually, you don’t sound like you have a clear grasp of fascism. You might find this article enlightening. Here’s an excerpt:
“Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named “National Socialist.” But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production. In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship — it can only be democratic. Hitler’s other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.”
It’s a very thoughtful argument, well-reasoned, supported with evidence. You should read it.

September 12th, 2009 at 2:07 pmt-bone,
I just read your first post @ 128. And you say we are calling names? What the F is wrong with you. You do nothing but project your own hatred in your very first post. I’m sure Fred and others have been schooling you. But that would imply your smart enough to learn.
Which you obviously aren’t. How’s it feel to be on the wrong side of history?
September 12th, 2009 at 2:10 pmI’m sorry, you are incorrect. becks cliff notes on history are wrong.
corporate control of government is facism.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:14 pm@185, you’re more than a little dishonest, Mr. Bone
Fed money policy did way more than the tax cuts to begin inflating the Republican economic bubbles.
(Reagan also declared amnesty for how many illegal immigrants?)
Righties have been dead wrong since the ’30’s. Still are now, and if they didn’t run cover for big, old, righty, money interests, they’d have been out of business entirely by the ’70’s.
Don’t invite others to share your delusion with you Mr. Bone, it’s most undignified.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:14 pmHuh, wages were stagnant and the market boomed and it ended with a recession……just like it just did in 08.

I would suggest however that the facist/nazi states of Spain, Italy and Germany in the 20’s-40’s have far more in common with the legislation currently being proposed then with anything that came out of the Regan thru Bush 2.O years.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Yes, you could suggest that, but you’d still be wrong.
Have fun at work.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:21 pmIf you believe that then you are not very smart. I can prove it by challenging you to prove it but you go ahead and run away now that you’ve said your piece and can’t back it up.

you are so confused… but, for starters, it’s the corporatists and their toadies who are the nazi’s and fascists…
read that post from troospotter @191…
September 12th, 2009 at 2:31 pmshould keep you busy a while… great dividends too!
Ronnie Raygun grew the size of the Federal government to it’s largest in history (more employees) while claiming government to be the problem.
He ran up the national debt to a level that was higher than all of the deficits of all pervious administrations combined since George Washington and that included fighting 2 World Wars, a “police action” in Korea and the bullsh|t war Vietnam.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:31 pmA little late to this party, but I can’t resist…
“Give me liberty or give me death. Well, Barack Obama is trying to make good on that.”
Is he saying Obama is giving him liberty? Or is he saying that he wouldn’t be able to get health insurance if Obama gets more people health insurance?
.
ARMEY: Who? First of all who is Tom Gaitens?
Uh oh, Dick Armey has Gonzolitis: “What am I doing here? Who am I? Why are you asking me questions?”
.
Says Who says:
How long before obama reaches 3000 deaths? Will there be a big red post here? I doubt it!
There would be if he starts a new war over lies. We’ll keep ya posted.

September 12th, 2009 at 2:46 pmt-bone says: Think what tax cuts do – they stimulate the economy by incentivizing companies to grow and hire workers.
Yeah, I have heard that myth a thousand times! Tell me, why were there ten times as many jobs created under Clinton than under Bush? Clinton created 22 million jobs while taking us from record deficits to record surpluses. Dubya created 2.5 million (worst since Great Depression) while taking us from record surpluses to record deficits.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:48 pmconservative guy says:isn’t that an oxymoron?

so about right

September 12th, 2009 at 3:14 pmall right shithead – bhoener, I did scroll up and read your FIRST post. Get a fuc*ing clue and take your right wing racist hate speach and get the fuc* out of here.
Maybe I’ll just go through all your posts and flag you – then no one will have the displeasure of reading your shit.
September 12th, 2009 at 3:14 pmt-bone,
That does not explain why the country did so terrible under Dubya and so well under Clinton.
EVERY Dem president improves the job growth. EVERY Repub president worsens it. Look it up.
Clinton’s first budget did not have one single Repub vote!
September 12th, 2009 at 3:17 pmt-bone,
September 12th, 2009 at 3:23 pmYour first post was #128. And if that is your definition of a civilized dialogue—then you are an ass!
I think tbhoener needs to take a deep breath, relax and go take his meds.
September 12th, 2009 at 3:25 pmand have another spray tan!
September 12th, 2009 at 3:28 pmSorry, wrong boner. :)
September 12th, 2009 at 3:38 pmLooks like the ol’tbhoener finally gave up. Aww.
September 12th, 2009 at 3:44 pmoldschoolgreen says:
Yes someone needs a history lesson. YOU. The Nazi party was socialist in name only. They for instance put REAL socialists into concentration camps next to Jews. As for the name I guess you think the Peoples Republic of China is run by Republicans. IG Farben was one of Germanys largest industrial firms and was NEVER nationalized. Fascism is a government corporate cooperative and EVERYONE who is not a moron understands Fascism is on the right of the political spectrum. Arguing it is on the left only show blatant ignorance. That says nothing more bad about the right than that Mao and Stalin were on the left of the political spectrum which anyone who isnt so simpleminded they constantly fall for the concrete black and white thinking clearly understands
September 12th, 2009 at 4:18 pmwhat up. cat got your tongues?
September 12th, 2009 at 4:52 pma recent post #233 says: “your comment is awaiting moderation” Does anyone know what this means? Have I been censored?
September 12th, 2009 at 5:11 pmwell, you did it now. You broke my irony meter.
September 12th, 2009 at 5:12 pmNo a$$h0le.
Answer number #227 with some facts or STFU phucktard! You must provide a link….but, you are too stupid to do that.
And Ronnie Raygun is the worst president in the 20th century and Dick(head Armey is an a$$h0le regardless of your reply to Keith’s post above.
Prove any of the above wrong if you have links and facts. Otherwise, STFU!!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 5:12 pmYou have not been censored but your post contains offensive material that is not allowed.
How is that for a straight up answer using facts. Maybe you could try the same some day.
NOT!!!
HAhahhhahahaahah!!!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 5:23 pmHey Dixie Chick – Classic censorship from a left-wing site that can’t handle any dissenting views. You people can’t discuss so you dismiss. I truly feel sorry for you – you have been denied all the facts. Thank god I don’t live in your protected world. You are clueless. My post did not contain “offensive” material relative to other posts against me. If I were you I would want to know what the “offensive” material was. Does it not bother you that someone or something is preventing you from getting the full picture.
September 12th, 2009 at 5:29 pmHere’s the post that is awaiting moderation without the “offensive” material. Let’s see if this gets thru, Dixie loser:
**** Bag Rich- Thanks for exposing what defines an effen liberal: ELIMINATING FREE SPEECH. Take your anti speech mentality and shove it up your ***. I can take part in this column despite what a pea brain like you thinks. I invite you to go to a conservative site. You will have your *** handed to you with FACTS not insults, D***. Yeah, I called you a d***. Oh MY!! Any and all dialogue that you don’t agree with needs to be eliminated, right?! Are you a-holes really o.k. with the current direction we’re headed in? Are you really o.k. with standing on line for months to have Obama-Rama healthcare? I’m still waiting for your “solutions” in paying for the 38 Trillion unfunded MediCare debt and how the healthcare plan will not increase the deficit. Stop obfuscating and spinning. I’m sick of your B.S. Are you really o.k. with Obama-nomics blowing billions on frivoulous earmarks? Sounds to me like you small-minded, self righteous a-holes are intimidated by what this country stands for: Free speech, limited government, capitalism, national security….. why don’t we discuss the REAL issues….. Why do you feel the need to protect policies that promote self destruction? A-hole Keith -do you have your shovel ready for one of those Obama-stimulus jobs. don’t compare dem jobs to white-collar jops
September 12th, 2009 at 5:35 pmcomedy, right?
You are dismissed little fella, go out and see if the neighborhood kids will play with you, I know they wouldn’t before but just try a little harder.
September 12th, 2009 at 5:38 pmturd-bone,
I am not Dixie Chick. I tried to advise you and you attacked me again.
The usual reasons are using the b* word or c* word or n* word and a few others. It has nothing to do with trying to censor your paranoid, stupid phucking sh|t moronic crap!!!
Calling me “Dixie Chick” is an attempt to marginalize my views by making me a 2nd class citizen (a women in your shallow world) in your weak, retarded mysoginistic mind.
dixie blood is a body part not a sex orientation.
At this point I have nothing more for your pathetic, stupid phucking shitass life.
Choke on my blood from dixie.
September 12th, 2009 at 5:39 pmt-bone, do you consider yourself to be a self made man?
September 12th, 2009 at 5:41 pmAnd another:
September 12th, 2009 at 5:44 pmDixie-sh**: what happened: get up on the wrong side of the bed, libtard? You are a classless reprehensible typical liberal retard. You have nothing – NOTHING!! – to offer of any substance. BTW A-hole, “Ronnie Raygun” (real clever) and his courage to stand down your commie Russian friends, allows an a-hole like you to spew your venom against this country. Why don’t you move to Venezuela or Cuba and embrace Chavez or Castro and see how long you will last – dirtbag, pu$$y communist. All my best, T-bone
After all of the sh|t t(urd)-bone dished out today I tried to inform s/he/it about his “Awaiting moderation” concerns and he still can’t stop attacking. The very definition of stupid.
That’s just like every other RePugniScum left on Earth at this time.
Ignore t(urd)-bone. Take around but not to this swamp-water troll.
And Ronnie Raygun is the worst president in the 20th century and Dick Armey is still a Dick.
September 12th, 2009 at 5:50 pmHow would you know? Because you came here with a reasonable tone looking for a civil discussion? Really?
You gonna go with that dude, really?
I mean, the posts are still there and most here have read through them so who exactly are you trying to convince? Yourself?
September 12th, 2009 at 5:51 pmWhoa Dixie – Why such Harsh words? Chill!! And let me remind you that you put a play on my name, right? I think you referred to me as t-boner. What’s that if not an indication of your male-hating, neurotic, self-loathing paranoid psyche? I don’t even know if you are a woman but if that is the case then maybe your play on my name is only wishful thinking on your part because something tells me that you haven’t gotten any in a long time! Maybe you should doll yourself up tonite, go hang out at the local saloon and see what the cat brings home. Sincerely, Misogynistic t-bone
September 12th, 2009 at 5:53 pmFred,
You can’t fix stupid. I know you know that already so I’m preaching to the choir…
September 12th, 2009 at 5:54 pmHey Dixie Blood: Why don’t you explain to me why Ronnie Raygun was the worst president of the 20th century as opposed to someone like, oh…..let’s see – Jimmy Carter! hahahahahahahahaha. The depth of your ignorance is astounding. Yeah, I know I’m so disrepectful. I’ve only stooped to your own level. And that goes for you too, Fred. You march in any feminist demonstrations lately? Believe me, it doesn’t work. They don’t appreciate the “nice guys”
September 12th, 2009 at 6:00 pmyeah dixie, boner has gone off the rails and is now even less relivant than he was when he was irrelivant.
September 12th, 2009 at 6:01 pmhey t-bone, you can’t demand that we answer your questions. Your era passed and you are history.
You on the other hand have some expaining to do.
If you want to continue here today then you need to explain some things to us, otherwise you can just post away here by your little self and see who gives a rats ass.
You don’t like the way we do things, tough shit. We didn’t like the way you did things so explain this so we can understand why you think you matter at all:
Where’s my era of prosperity that cutting taxes and deregulating were supposed to usher in?
September 12th, 2009 at 6:04 pmt(urd)-bone can’t read previous post here:
Stupid is as stupid does….
September 12th, 2009 at 6:09 pmThe largest bullsh|t war in our history is the Botch War in Iraq. It’s not the Iraq war it is the Botch War.
GW “Please Love Me Daddy” Botch lied this country into 4000+ US soldiers deaths and other atrocities in the Iraq Botch war so he could impress his dad. BTW, his dad (Botch 41) was the 2nd worst president in the 20th century right behind Raygun.
September 12th, 2009 at 6:24 pmFred, Fred, Fred … Do you not pay attention. I explained how you missed the prosperity boat about 25 posts ago. Don’t blame me if you did not participate in the greatest economic expansion in this country’s history. Do not compare the market today to 10, 15 or 20 yrs ago. Instead, see what happened during those 20 yrs. Republicans controlled the House, Senate and White House for the majority of that time and the country prospered as a result. The market has negatively responded to Democrat policies, period. Clinton presided over one of the greatest market opportunities in our lifetime not because of Democrat policies but because the market forces of free enterprise manifested in the internet “dot-com” explosion. Clinton was merely a bystander. The Repubs controling the House and Senate promoted individual responsibility (see welfare reform) and free enterprise. This is how the market works today: when it looks as though Obama will not be successful with any policy (i.e. healthcare)the market goes up. But watch on Monday when Obama gives a speech regarding the financial industry and see how the market will tank. Yes, we differ. But a fact is a fact. Dems are anti-business and people like yourself look to the gov’t to take care of your life. That is the fundamental difference between dems and repubs. I’d rather determine my own destiny. One last observation – stay away from Dixie.
September 12th, 2009 at 6:32 pmt-bone says:
Classic stupidity from another astonishingly stupid rightwing moron. The filter crops out words it doesnt like. It has nothing to do with your ignorant opinion. You are free to be just as stupid as you want to be and we all know that is galactic level STUPID. Figure out the word it doesnt like. For months it wouldnt allow the world analysis. Get over yourself and give up the victim mentality. You are FAR too stupid and unimportant to censor. Then again like most MORONS you dont even know what the word means. You dont know what free speech means. You are stupid. You are mouthing the stupid you were programmed with by the rightwing screechmonkeys that do your thinking for you. You are a sad, ignorant and pathetic punkass troll. Do the world a favor and STFU
September 12th, 2009 at 6:53 pmOnly a scared little troll would say:
“One last observation – stay away from Dixie.”
I make little “men” pee their pants every time.
September 12th, 2009 at 6:59 pmEugene – Remember the movie “Grease” and the class nerd was Eugene? That’s you, isn’t it? What happened did you get dunked in the water tank at the school fair? Did the jocks beat you up on a daily basis? Why are you so angry? I merely asked a question regarding a post that was not offensive when compared to other posts that were directed towards me. It is astounding to be the focus of these rants. It is the way your side argues – with insults, taunts, rants and raves. But if you think otherwise we can always take this outside and discuss it, OK?
September 12th, 2009 at 7:02 pmStarting a post with:
“Fred, Fred, Fred” is the sign of a frightened little school child.
September 12th, 2009 at 7:03 pmBTW, Ronnie Raygun is still the worst president in the 20th century and Botch 41 is the 2nd worst. Period.
And Dick Armey is still a Dick.
September 12th, 2009 at 7:05 pmHey Dixie – I bet you make them puke, also. Regards
September 12th, 2009 at 7:05 pmDixie – Isn’t it time you get yourself dolled up for your big nite out? Go away, Please.
September 12th, 2009 at 7:07 pmYou go first a$$h0le!!!
September 12th, 2009 at 7:10 pmEugeneDebs,
I’m very glad to see you here. t(urd)-bone needs an ass kicking like only you can provide. I look forward to your posts here starting….NOW!
September 12th, 2009 at 7:14 pmOhhhhhhh….Eugene is here….to the rescue. Now I am peeing in my pants – you were right Dixie mama. Will someone please answer the question which I asked over 4 hours ago! – How is ObamaCare NOT going to add to the deficit and how is the 38 Trillion dollar unfunded Medicare debt going to be paid. This is not a trick question however, you can’t answer one part without answering the other. Ready….Go!
September 12th, 2009 at 7:25 pmt-bone says:
…the fact that this wonderful stimulus package contains 9000 ear marks
The fact is, it contained zero earmarks. That’s just the actual fact. Now, it did have many provisions that might benefit certain specific areas over others, but “earmarks” refers to a very specific Congressional process, and it doesn’t have any of those. The method of “earmarking” to insert amendments into a bill isn’t a bad process anyways. McCain just started complaining about it during the last election, and nobody stood up to him on it.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that the stimulus package contained no earmarks whatsoever.
You know, it’s not like the content of Congressional bills is kept locked in some secret vault somewhere. It’s all public information. We can all go look it up. Making crazy claims about bills that Congress is working on or has passed fails. Your claims of “read the bill!” backfire on you the moment that anybody actually does it.
Same goes with the bible.
.
t-bone says:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s pretty much what the rest of your post looked like.
.
t-bone says:
Oh, and by the way, who ran congress during the Clinton years? Think that perhaps THAT had something to do with your precious Clinton economy?
I’ll let you share some credit for the Clinton economy if you also take credit for the Bush economy. Deal?
.
t-bone says:
a recent post #233 says: “your comment is awaiting moderation” Does anyone know what this means? Have I been censored?
It’s done that to me sometimes. I think that certain questionable profanity or epithet terms trigger that thing, maybe if you post too many epithet-laden screeds to quickly. You might want to try discusing the topic at hand like an adult, and you’ll have fewer problems with the site.
.
t-bone says:
Classic censorship from a left-wing site that can’t handle any dissenting views.
And yet, here you are.
I’m still waiting for you to present some actual “views.” So far all I’ve seen is empty slogans and pointless insults. Still, hope springs eternal, so carry on.
.
t-bone says:
Are you a-holes really o.k. with the current direction we’re headed in?
Yes.
.
t-bone says:
Are you really o.k. with standing on line for months to have Obama-Rama healthcare?
That won’t happen. As it is, people die in waiting rooms all the time anyways. I can’t get a primary care provider under my insurance plan unless I wait at least three months for a “new patient exam,” and I can’t get non-emergency health care until I’ve established an in-network primary care provider in my local area. Under any public insurance system, I could go anywhere to get care (emergency or not) and they’d know it was covered, which gives me more options and therefore shorter waiting periods.
So, the exact opposite of the thing you said.
.
t-bone says:
I’m still waiting for your “solutions” in paying for the 38 Trillion unfunded MediCare debt and how the healthcare plan will not increase the deficit.
This guy explains it pretty good.
.
t-bone says:
Are you really o.k. with Obama-nomics blowing billions on frivoulous earmarks?
It’s not “blowing” billions on “frivolous” earmarks at all. The earmark thing aside (already addressed above), the spending programs are much more targeted to get a positive ROI out of the nation’s economy than anything done during the Bush era. Bush blew the money on wars and tax breaks for billionaires. Obama’s intelligently investing it in America.
.
t-bone says:
Sounds to me like you small-minded, self righteous a-holes are intimidated by what this country stands for: Free speech, limited government, capitalism, national security…
Sounds to me like you’re the one who is intimated by what this country stands for: democracy, checks and balances, common decency, equality, welcoming immigrants, human rights, civil rights…
.
t-bone says:
Why don’t you move to Venezuela or Cuba and embrace Chavez or Castro and see how long you will last
For that matter, why don’t you move to Somalia or some other libertarian/anarchist paradise and see how long you last there? Let’s see how rich you get in a country where all of the potential consumers are in abject poverty. After all, you’re the extremist here. We’ll stay here where the country is managed reasonably and moderately for the benefit of all, thanks.
.
t-bone says:
Why don’t you explain to me why Ronnie Raygun was the worst president of the 20th century as opposed to someone like, oh…..let’s see – Jimmy Carter! hahahahahahahahaha.
Well for one thing, Jimmy Carter brokered peace between Israel and Egypt, whereas Reagan started military engagements in, what, three different countries? He also armed Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan as I recall. That’s just off the top of my head.
.
t-bone says:
I explained how you missed the prosperity boat about 25 posts ago. Don’t blame me if you did not participate in the greatest economic expansion in this country’s history.
I can’t find the part where you were praising Clinton’s economic policies. Could you repeat that?
September 12th, 2009 at 7:25 pmAt #128
Care to comment moronic sh|thead?
Hahahhhaaaahahhhhaaa hah..hahahhaaa (choking with laughter) hahaahahhaaaaa.

The Repubs controling the House and Senate promoted individual responsibility (see welfare reform) and free enterprise. This is how the market works today
Man, I’m starting to feel bad having to be the one to break the bad news to all of the wingnuts who’ve been living in their bunkers for over a year. Um, the economy didn’t do so good under Bush. There was a little problem that happened about a year ago. We’ll wait here while you take that uncomfortable fact in. Let us know if you need a hanky.
.
t-bone says:
Eugene – Remember the movie “Grease” and the class nerd was Eugene? That’s you, isn’t it?
What’s up with this fixation you have on usernames, dude? EugeneDebs’ username is well established, you can look it up on Wikipedia if you’re so curious.
.
t-bone says:
It is astounding to be the focus of these rants. It is the way your side argues – with insults, taunts, rants and raves.
You’ve been pretty much doing that from word one. As a matter of fact, your tone and Eugene’s are about evenly matched. Now, I’m not saying don’t froth at the mouth, you can if you want; Eugene does. But complaining about it like you’re some kind of virginal innocent is astoundingly hypocritical.
.
t-bone says:
But if you think otherwise we can always take this outside and discuss it, OK?
Alright, you “step outside” the Internet; I’ll be right “behind” you.
(this I gotta see)
September 12th, 2009 at 7:34 pmEugeneDebs is not the only person here that can kick your gray matter to the curb. There are others. And you’ve already ignored a number of their posts today.
Ignoring is ignorance.
September 12th, 2009 at 7:44 pmOne more misogynist comment from an a$$h0le, male phreak. Why do you hate women? Are you a rapist or worse yet a RePugniScum?
September 12th, 2009 at 7:56 pmI’d just like to underscore something here: t-bone has claimed to make a lot of money through investing. As a wingnut making a personal claim to bolster an argument, he is lying. That is an utter fiction. He has never held stock in his life, and it’s unlikely that he ever will.
Moving on…
September 12th, 2009 at 8:00 pmt-bone says:
God you REALLY ignorant punkass trolls really love to show how stupid you are. No I WAS one of the jocks. I was the star of the wrestling team. I dated the good looking girls went to the good parties. I guess you are projecting again. Someone as blatantly stupid as you HAD to be a loser in high school just like you are a loser now. Grease? Are you KIDDING ME? You actually watched that movie? I never knew anyone so pathetic they actually watched that movie then admitted it. Then again we are back to how incredibly stupid you are. Its time for you to face facts. You were born stupid. You will always BE stupid. It is time for you to seriously consider killing yourself. I mean you are pathetic. No one will ever love you or respect you or really want to be in your putrid presence. You are always going to be that guy that people say Shit its Tbone again when you approach. Your life will be what it is now. Unremitting misery, lonliness and being stupid and pathetic day after day. Start over. Just kill yourself. Everyone who has ever known you wants you to die. Even your trailer trash whore of a mother blowing crackheads on skid row wishes she had drown you at birth. Do the unselfish thing and kill yourself
September 12th, 2009 at 8:07 pmElBruce: Welcome to the post. I see that you have taken up a more dignified tone than your comrades. I appreciate your taking the time to list point-by-point your observations as to my numerous posts. I do not understand why the first reaction of so many on “your side” is defammatory and adversarial in nature. It does not serve any purpose to constantly insult and demean when confronted with opinions that do not necessarily agree with your viewpoint. Let’s review your post, ok? You are right – there were no earmarks in the stimulus package – only money appropriated to interest groups that supported Obama. Where is that money anyway? Only 10% has been allocated and unemployment has risen from 7% to 9.7% I dread what would happen if the other 90% is “targeted” as you stated to get “a positive ROI” With anymore positive ROI I believe we may all be living in the equivalent of Somalia. No, the “earmarks” came in the form of an Omnibus bill (400 billion +) that was nothing more than pent up Democrat projects that were stalled while the Republicans ran Congress. My gosh, if it weren’t for the Republicans in charge of Congress prior to 2006 can you imagine the spending that would have gone on. How does the targeted spending as you put it, help when it is targeted towards big government entitlement programs or government “make-work” that does not create any wealth and therefore does not add to any ROI. Look here, jerk you try and act all mighty andknowledgeable but you need to take your head out of those textbooks and live in the real world. Government DOES NOT create wealth no matter how succintly you may make the argument. I made the case earlier that I blame Bush for contributing to the current state of affairs precisely because he started spending like a big tax and spend liberal. How is Obama quadrupling of the deficit going to fix Bush’s spending ways? You cannot spend your way out of a recession. Look at how the Great Depression came about. We’re heading off a cliff and you need to understand that – you seem like an intelligent guy but something tells me it’s too late. Tell me ElBruce, what is the tax rate that you would consider to be too excessive and prohibitive towards growth – because I can assure you, that is where we are headed. Don’t be fooled. This deficit can only be financed thru monetary policy for too long. Eventually the printing presses will be turned on and all your dollar-denominated assets will turn to dust. We need to put the brakes on this out-of-control spending. NOW
September 12th, 2009 at 8:10 pmCare to comment moron?
September 12th, 2009 at 8:12 pmt-bone says:
YOU IGNORANT hypocritcal PUNK. With all your insults ranting you want to snivel about how YOU are treated. That is taking the pathetic bar to new levels and you were already pretty pathetic. Actually the spending in the Great Depression DID start us out. Things were without a doubt BETTER because of Roosevelts policies and had he stuck WITH them rather than listen to his economic advisors and start backing off of them they probably would have worked even better. I know the screechmonkeys that think for you have TOLD you that Roosevelt made the depression worse but THEY arent stupid enough to believe that they just know that sheeple like YOU aer stupid enough to repeat it. We had an economic GOLDEN age starting in the late forties when the spending for WW2 spun the economy into high gear. You are always going to be stupid but let me assure you every rightwing talking point you can spew we have already heard and can refute
September 12th, 2009 at 8:16 pmt-bone says:
I see that you have taken up a more dignified tone than your comrades.
Kiss my liberal ass, you fascist pig.
(just wanted to make that clear)
.
t-bone says:
Let’s review your post, ok? You are right – there were no earmarks in the stimulus package – only money appropriated to interest groups that supported Obama.
Thanks for conceding the previous point. Your second attempt is also nothing but lies.
.
t-bone says:
With anymore positive ROI I believe we may all be living in the equivalent of Somalia.
ROI stands for “Return On Investment,” since apparently you didn’t know that.
Giving tax breaks to billionaires does not stimulate the economy, as the Bush administration clearly demonstrated. It merely cuts revenue, thereby forcing the country into debt. Starting unneccessary wars is an extremely expensive proposition that provides no revenue whatsoever.
On the other hand, investing in national infrastructure does boost the economy, because business models can be built on that infrastructure. See the Interstate Highway System for a clear example of this. The economic gains of latter 20th Century America can mostly be attributed directly to the existence of that infrastructure, by fostering a strong, distributed transportation-based economy.
.
t-bone says:
How does the targeted spending as you put it, help when it is targeted towards big government entitlement programs or government “make-work” that does not create any wealth and therefore does not add to any ROI.
They do create wealth. Just not so much for the already wealthy.
.
t-bone says:
Government DOES NOT create wealth no matter how succintly you may make the argument.
Government manages the economic environment in which wealth can be created.
Let’s go back to Somalia for a moment – there’s no government spending there at all. Go there and start a successful business, make yourself rich, and then I’ll entertain the notion that only private enterprise is involved in wealth creation.
Until then, it’s clear that you are relying on dogmatic faith in an economic philosophy which has never worked in the history of humankind – that pure economic anarchy leads to robust growth.
.
t-bone says:
How is Obama quadrupling of the deficit going to fix Bush’s spending ways?
First of all, your “quadruple” thing is a lie.
If we invest in America, we can get the economy back on its feet sooner rather than later, and then be able to cover the deficit through increased revenue brough in by taxes.
That’s how.
Claiming that we can’t afford to spend anything because our debt is already too high is like saying that you should quit your job to save on gas because your credit card bills are too high.
.
t-bone says:
You cannot spend your way out of a recession. Look at how the Great Depression came about.
Yes, you can. The Great Depression came about because unregulated financial markets led to trading on margin, which then collapsed. Pretty much the same thing that happened last year, except bigger, because an unregulated banking system wasn’t required to preserve enough capital to cover their debts, and because the government refused to intervene until well after it was already too late. Even then, when FDR started trying to intervene through spending/infrastructure programs, his attempts were too watered-down and half-hearted (due to Republican interference) to have enough effect.
In the end, government spending is precisely what got us out of it, via the WWII economy.
.
t-bone says:
We’re heading off a cliff and you need to understand that – you seem like an intelligent guy but something tells me it’s too late.
That “something” is your inner stupid. We were heading off a cliff one year ago. We’re still pretty close to the edge, but we haven’t gone over since Obama took the reins. In fact, we’re inching a bit away from it. That’s the opposite of how things were when Republicans were in charge. A lot fewer people are using the big “D” word (depression) than were a year ago.
It’s a little late to be crying that the sky is falling when the rest of us have already been busy building support beams to hold it up for almost a year now.
.
t-bone says:
Tell me ElBruce, what is the tax rate that you would consider to be too excessive and prohibitive towards growth – because I can assure you, that is where we are headed.
Overall? I’d say anything over 50% is probably too high for me to be comfortable with. But I haven’t looked into the economic models at various rates enough to make a more educated guess. Then again, neither have you.
.

This deficit can only be financed thru monetary policy for too long. Eventually the printing presses will be turned on…
You mean “financial policy.” “Monetary policy” refers to manipulating the amount of cash available to the economy. Financial policy refers to regulation and government spending. I can’t really have respect for your arguments if you’re going to make blatant mistakes like this. And it’s not just you – ever wingnut I’ve argued with here makes the same kind of gross errors that suggest they’ve never even seen the cover of an econ textbook in their lives.
And you expect to be treated seriously? You’re just the next in a long line of wingnut buffoons who has no idea what macroeconomics is, much less how it works, while they spout off about their absolutist dogmatic faith in pure laissez-faire economics, such as that currently practiced in… Somalia.

September 12th, 2009 at 9:38 pmHey El Jerko It’s Fiscal policy, not Financial policy. And Monetary policy does deal with the Money supply. And this is why I am referring to Monetary policy. Listen up. You’re about to get educated. Monetary policy controls the money supply by way of the Fed’s purchasing and selling of debt. Hence deficit spending by way of selling government securities to finance that spending. Get it? How long do you think the Chinese will finance our debt before we have to turn on the printing preses? Times up. I’m still waiting for your answer. Why don’t you look up monetizing the debt and then get back to me.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:40 pmTo All You Repulsive Liberal Scum (And that includes you, nerd, I mean Eugene – that REALLY is a nerdy name you know) I mean it’s so easy: “Hey, here comes Euuuugene, let’s give him a wedgie! No wrestler was ever named Eugene. You gotta get your head out of the comic books and computer games, nerd. An a-hole like you who has to use the word “stupid” constantly is undoubtedly stupid to begin with. My God, you sound downright psychotic. OK, show of hands how many of you lying liberal scum have seen the movie “Grease”? c’mon, be honest. Oh yeah, Euge – it happens to be the highest selling album of all time – the soundtrack to Grease. I can’t believe I’m having this ridiculous argument but Eugene – you really are a d**k. As long as we’re measuring d**ks i was an all-county b-ball player in h.s and played some college ball as well. I know you are not who you say you are precisely because you brought it up. You are truly a delusional creep. But here’s the basis for this post: Will one of you lying liberal cowards have the guts to post on a conservative site? You’re all so brave when you are amongst your sniveling selves. Let’s see if any of you would have the guts to do what I’ve done today. I’ve exposed all of you for what you are and for how you are portrayed in conservative mediums. September 12th, 2009 at 9:59 pmAnd I thought you were one of the educated ones. I understand that ROI stands for Return On Investment. This is why I made the argument that I made. Explain the “ROI’ when 10% of the stimulus package has been spent amd unemployment has risen by over 2 million workers. That sounds like a great ROI. and it sounds somewhat macro as well. You want to talk macroeconomics? When was the last time you ever approached a poor person for a job. What do you think will happen when obama and his obama-nuts keep raising tzxes on small businesses, corporations and wealthy individuals? Those originators of jobs will either go out of business or overseas. Let that be a “macroeconomic” lesson to you. And when you’re standing on the soup line maybe you should read up on micro-economics. We’ll start eith individual tax rates, OK? The highest individual marginal tax rate during the Carter yrs was 68%. So I would say that would probably be a good barometer as to how much in taxes is too much. But what do I know, Right? What were you, a political science major in college. Don’t tread in areas that you are obviously under educated. You just might run into someone who knows more than you. September 12th, 2009 at 10:13 pmt-bone says:
Explain the “ROI’ when 10% of the stimulus package has been spent amd unemployment has risen by over 2 million workers.
Well see, the Bush administration trashed the economy, leading to rising unemployment. Of course your 10% number is a lie, but the amount spent overall is pretty low. There are two reasons for that:
1. Consumer and investor confidence. If people know there’s more government support for the economy coming down the pike, they can stop freaking out and get back in the game. If we throw all our money at it at once (as the Bush administration repeatedly did) then everyone is left asking “now what” after each round of stimulus checks or whatever.
2. Smart vs. stupid spending. If you’re going to invest in infrastructure that’s worthwhile and which will pay further economic dividends, then it’s going to take some time to get going on it. Preparations have to be made, local zoning and contracting has to be dealt with, public/private partnerships developed, etc. If you insist that all the money be blown immediately, then you won’t be able to spend it on anything that’s particularly useful.
.
t-bone says:
You want to talk macroeconomics? When was the last time you ever approached a poor person for a job.
That would be microeconomics.
.
t-bone says:
What do you think will happen when obama and his obama-nuts keep raising tzxes on small businesses, corporations and wealthy individuals? Those originators of jobs will either go out of business or overseas.
In this day and age, are you really trying to argue that trickle-down economics works? You do realize that it’s been completely discredited on the ground, right?
PS: small businesses won’t see an increase in their taxes. That is a lie, and you should know it by now, if you claim to be informed on anything.
.
t-bone says:
We’ll start eith individual tax rates, OK? The highest individual marginal tax rate during the Carter yrs was 68%.
Here’s a yearly list of the top marginal tax rates from 1913-2003. From 1944 through 1963 it was in the 90%’s, an era today viewed as an economic “golden age.”
.
t-bone says:

Absolutely nothing. I was pointing out that most of the people you’re talking to here are probably better employed than you are. Holding down a job is just one of the things you’re expected to do as an adult. It’s not a special thing that only a few economic conservatives are capable of achieving. And acting like it is just amounts to loudly praising yourself for coming in 2nd-to-last at the Special Oympics of Life.
Any arguments based on the assumption that everyone you’re arguing with are unemployed collapse even before you make them, because it’s obviously false. You’re not insulting us, you’re just insulting your own intelligence, far more eloquently than I am capable of doing – so, hats off to you.

Get a life and start putting together cogent, compelling and persuasive arguments, PLEASE! before WE start taking any of you seriously. Way to claim the high ground with your very first post…asking us to refrain from insults while painting us with insults of your own.

And how this runaway spending will save the economy. You really came off as foolish when you tried to demonstrate a deep knowledge in financial matters. I do not understand why the first reaction of so many on “your side” is defammatory and adversarial in nature. It does not serve any purpose to constantly insult and demean when confronted with opinions that do not necessarily agree with your viewpoint.
And *this* is where I stopped reading considering your very own behavior since your very own first post, whether you had good points or not. I tend to not care what obvious hypocrites like you think.
September 13th, 2009 at 2:00 amt-bone,
You are so concerned with our huge debt and you strongly support Republicans and stringly criticize Democrats? Something is seriously wrong with your sources of information.
The first 200 years of the United States—say ending with Reagan replacing Carter—we had a total debt of #900 billion ($0.9 Trillion). After 12 years of Reagan and GHWBush (what GHWB called “voodoo economics”) the debt had gone from $0.9 Trillion to $4.1 Trillion! We also had record small business bankruptcies and more unemployment than Carter or Clinton. Clinton’s first budget (without a single Republican vote) cut the deficit in half and improved employment. Every year Clinton improved the economy until Dubya inherited record surpluses and 3.9% unemployment. I believe the debt was $5.7 Trillion. When Dubya finished, he created one-tenth the jobs as Clinton, our economy was the worst since the Great Depression, and the debt was over $11 Trillion!
I actually heard Michael Steele say on tv that the national debt was $1 trillion when Dubya ended and Obama had turned that into an $11 trillion debt!!! So I can understand where you get your faulty history.
I had the “guts” to go on FreeRepublic and talk with them. My first and last post was that Jeff Gannon should not be supported because I had seen proof that he had no background in journalism and was a male-4-male prostitute. Instantly banned for life! I kept emailing for an explanation and never got one. BTW, I was right.
September 13th, 2009 at 2:03 amt-bone says:
…how about you explain how the 38 Trillion dollar unfunded MediCare debt will be paid.
Where did you get that number? Citation, please. If you’re going to ask me a question, I’ll need to have some clue what you’re blathering about. But without doing any research I’ll just guess off the top of my head that any deficit produced by a given federal program gets added to the national debt. I believe the national debt gets paid primarily by interest payments on T-bills.
So what do I win?
.
t-bone says:
And how ObamaCare will NOT add to the deficit.
By doing the job much cheaper than its being done now. Cheaper = lower cost = savings?
I don’t know how else to explain bigger vs. littler to you. The best I can do at this point is maybe refer you to some Sesame Street episodes or something.
.
t-bone says:
And how this runaway spending will save the economy.
It’s not “runaway.” And I explained it repeatedly in this thread. Page up. I’m not going to waste any more time trying to explain the same things to you over and over again. Either you’re smart enough to understand what I’m saying or you’re not.
.
t-bone says:
You really came off as foolish when you tried to demonstrate a deep knowledge in financial matters.
If that’s the impression you got, I apologize. I don’t really know that much about economics at all. But even that’s about a thousand times more than you know, so it’s good enough for these purposes.

.
t-bone says:
Have you seen the news regarding ACORN lately, how about Van Jones or the other CZARS apopointed by that communist – Obama.
Yes, I have seen how your right-wing lying smear campaigns continue to hurt America, and I’m alarmed at the degree to which the Obama administration is willing to capitulate to them. Of course none of your allegations have ever had a shred of evidence, but you really don’t care about that part, do you?
That is because you are a bad, evil person. I mean, setting aside my clear advantage over you in looks, intelligence, humor, education, physical ability, earning capacity and everything else worthwhile, when it gets right down to it I am simply a better human being than you are.
So yeah, thanks for bringing that up.

September 13th, 2009 at 2:05 amWiki on Van Jones:
“He was appointed by President Barack Obama in March 2009, to the newly-created position on the White House Council on Environmental Quality, where he worked with various “agencies and departments to advance the administration’s climate and energy initiatives, with a special focus on improving vulnerable communities.”"
September 13th, 2009 at 2:10 am—————————–
He did not have much power. It was a mid-level position. You know, creating Green jobs is a good thing. It is the future. It is not a bad thing. The US has to have some jobs that have not been sent to third-world countries by conservatives!
Wakey, Wakey – Eggs and Bakey – Wake up you lazy liberal slobs. Thought I would direct your attention (especially you Jerk-off) to the web-site which shows the financial “health” of our country. Check out usdebtclock.org. Scroll down to the bottom section “u.s. unfunded liabilities” and, lo and behold, “medicare/medicaid unfunded” = 38 Trillion. I know jerk-off that all these big numbers all flashing at once will probably cause your pea brain to have a seizure but give it a go. And try once again to explain how The Chosen One’s, aka The Messiah, aka CastrObama Health Care will be financed without adding to this deficit while at the same time paying for this unfunded medicare liabiltiy. Jerk-off, you so easily dismiss my claim that ObamaCare will add to the deficit simply because it (healthcare) will be provided cheaper than it is today. Oh, really genius. We are going to add (the new number) 30 million people to the existing system without a relevant increase in providers and this will NOT add to the cost? There is a concept in economics known as “supply and demand”. Think like when your parents finally kick you out of the basement and you have to find an apartment but there is scarce supply of available units. The price for rents will therefore go up, right? This is what is commonly known in economic terms as “supply and demand” Can you now apply that concept to the availability of health care when we add 30 million participants to the existing system? Let’s not also forget how this principle will add to the concept of “health rationing” See if you can follow me here, Jerk-off: If we introduce more of something that is dependant on something else, this usually creates a concept known as “unsustainability” And if a situation is unsustainable that usually means that something will have to give. In this case it would be the equal providing of health care. Unless, of course we start to ration that provision. It amazes me how breezily your type dismiss these fundamental issues. Also, to claim that the investigative work that led to the uncovering of Van Jones and ACORN’s criminal enterprise as being part of a smear campaign is so laughable that it does not deserve response. Except to say this: You and your kind (read: Dixie Blood, Fred, Eugene, EugeDebs, Chris wiwi, Etc) We’re coming after you. We are armed with cell phones, video cameras and all types of state of the art technology to expose you creatins for what you truly are -lying, sniveling, duplicitous, sneaky malcontents. There, now was that so hard? I asked for where you got that figure waaaay back, and only now you’re citing sources. Withholding the link to what you’re talking about and then finally producing it is not the same thing as producing an argument-winner. It’s really just an argument-starter.
Oddly that clock thingy doesn’t even define the formula for what it calls a “U.S. unfunded liability,” so I Googled that phrase and the first link was this:
So it seems that an “unfunded liability” is an apparent shortfall based on the assumption that there will be zero economic growth in four years and also that we won’t adjust the federal budget at any time in the next four years. Ooh, I’m scared.
.
t-bone says:
We are going to add (the new number) 30 million people to the existing system without a relevant increase in providers and this will NOT add to the cost? There is a concept in economics known as “supply ant demand”.
Who said there won’t be more providers? I’ll let the free market work that out, thanks. More providers will appear in response to the higher demand for general practitioners; fewer will go into emergency care, etc. Magic of the marketplace, yo.
Uninsured people already get more costly care because emergency rooms cost a lot, and conditions that could have been prevented cheaply with early detection before they get out of hand, are not. Covering them allows us to control the costs of their care.
.
t-bone says:
Let’s not also forget how this principle will add to the concept of “health rationing”
Health is already rationed. Right now, today.
I’d rather have a government bureaucrat make such decisions using publicly known rules that I can change through politics, than a corporate bureaucrat making decisions based on secret rules geared to their profit motive.
.
t-bone says:
In this case it would be the equal providing of health care.
Are you also concerned with the endangered species status of unicorns?
.
t-bone says:

In any case, we’re waiting right here and we ain’t hiding anything.

September 13th, 2009 at 4:30 pmRegarding Medicare, I’d like to add that Obama has been also talking about making it more efficient so as to reduce its costs. Are you against that, t-bone? Or are you just saying we should ditch Medicare? I’m not sure what you’re after with that one.
September 13th, 2009 at 5:40 pmIF we are thirty trillion dollars behind in funding Medicare and Social Security, how is that Obama’s fault? The $400 billion he added was necessary because we were heading for a Depression. When Obama took office, we were four months into Dubya’s last budget which was projected to be $1.3 Trillion in deficit. Bit different to the 3.9% unemployment and hundreds of billions in surplus that Clinton left Dubya.
And what exactly were the Dem bills passed over Dubya’s veto in 2007 and 2008 that absolutely destroyed the economy? The executive branch with the SEC has no controls over the financial institutions of the USA? What laws did the Dems force on Dubya that caused the crash? And will you please stop talking about FDR causing the Great Depression! It was twelve years of trickle-down and deregulation by Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. Or do you think they were liberals? Have you looked up all the job growth rates of the presidents? Numbers are kept of such things.
September 13th, 2009 at 7:12 pmYawn.
September 13th, 2009 at 7:13 pmAnnual employment-growth rates:
Harry Truman (1945-53), 2.38%
D Eisenhower (1953-61), 0.87%
John Kennedy (1961-63), 2.28%
L.B. Johnson -(1963-69), 3.74%
Richard Nixon (1969-74) 2.30%
Gerald Ford –(1974-77), 0.95%
Jimmy Carter -(1977-81), 3.11%
Ronald Reagan (1981-89) 2.04%
G.H.W. Bush -(1989-93), 0.59%
WJ Clinton (1993-2001), 2.42%
G. W. Bush -(2001-09), 0.28%
Notice that everytime going from Democratic to Republican administrations the job growth worsens and everytime going from Republican to Democratic, it improves.
September 13th, 2009 at 8:07 pmEl Jerk-off – Your naivete is stunning. What’s your point? You try and discredit my link based on when it was provided to you? Your retorts are becoming less and less credible. You have solved the unfunded liability issue with one dismissive statement, to wit this nugget:
So it seems that an “unfunded liability” is an apparent shortfall based on the assumption that there will be zero economic growth in four years and also that we won’t adjust the federal budget at any time in the next four years. Ooh, I’m scared.
Are you for real? How do you come up with this B.S.? “So it seems” is the basis for the foundation of your argument. As I’ve said before, you may be able to impress those lapdog liberal friends of yours at some cocktail party on the Upper West Side with these assinine theories, but you really have absolutely no concept of economic reality. Please, stick to your knowledge of art history, Greek mythology or whatever crap they are teaching you at the liberal “university” you are attending at 40k per. So it’s just a matter of “adjusting the federal budget”. Is that right? Really?
You have no idea how this debt is choking our financial system and how this debt will lead to a complete devaluation of the dollar.
You think the “market” will adjust to the increase in health participants? Just like that, right? To wit another of your completely ridiculous suppositions:
Who said there won’t be more providers? I’ll let the free market work that out, thanks. More providers will appear in response to the higher demand for general practitioners; fewer will go into emergency care, etc. Magic of the marketplace, yo.
Your opposition to the workings of a free marketplace notwithstanding, explain to me what person in their right mind would desire to become a doctor within a universal system? Who would want to endure the training, cost, personal sacrifice and effort without the reward? The profit incentive is gone when the government runs health care. My God, is it possible that you can really be that naieve?
And then this beaut:
I’d rather have a government bureaucrat make such decisions using publicly known rules that I can change through politics, than a corporate bureaucrat making decisions based on secret rules geared to their profit motive
Yeah, let’s let the bureaucrats make the decisions. And they’re saying that there will not be a death panel. Let’s just let the bureaucrats make the decisions. Do you come up with this on your own, or is this more of the liberal B.S. they’re teaching you at Liberal U? Why would you ever think that a bureaucrat is better able to make health related decisions? Do you realize that you contradicted yourself when on the one hand you stated that the free market would solve the provision problem while on the other hand you state that the free market causes problems within the health care industry. This is the way people like yourself think: Profits = BAD.
And this:
Regarding Medicare, I’d like to add that Obama has been also talking about making it more efficient so as to reduce its costs. Are you against that, t-bone? Or are you just saying we should ditch Medicare? I’m not sure what you’re after with that one.
Efficient? Like in cutting out the fraud and waste? Why don’t we start doing that now? Why do we have to wait for a bill to be passed? Just another example of your naivete. Politicians have been using this trick since they first started creating budgets. I am all for reforming health care when it comes it to costs. Options have been put out there which Obama refuses to hear. Tort reform, eliminating mandated state regulations so as to create more competition between insurance companies, creating tax-deductible savings accounts for health care. This would be a start – a good start to eliminate the fraud and waste.
Finally, we may have been asleep at the wheel in the last election. But we will never allow a two year junior senator who had associations with the likes of Wright, Ayres, Rezko, ACORN Jones etc. etc. We will be resolute and dilligent in getting the word out. We will not leave any stone unturned to expose the the truth. The media did your dirty work by not reporting Obama. We will not let that happen again. Everything is fair game. We are energized and motivated. You couldn’t even get out a decent turnout for this health care debate. The tide has turned my friend. Complacency and arrogance will be your downfall. So yawn all you want, railsplitter.

By looking up the definition of the statistic you were complaining about.

I got to parties in Manhattan and am a Liberal Arts major in college? Keep guessing there swami, this is fascinating.
.
t-bone says:
So it’s just a matter of “adjusting the federal budget”. Is that right? Really?
Yes. Here in the U.S.A. we have a group called “Congress” that determines spending levels every year. They use future projections to try to guesstimate how much they’ll have to outlay in the future, and alter the budgets that they pass each year. But the future projections are just that – projections. They’re not an expenditures. Your assumption that “unfunded liability” referred to money already spent rather than future shortcomings projected assuming no changes in GDP was debunked.
.
t-bone says:
You think the “market” will adjust to the increase in health participants? Just like that, right? To wit another of your completely ridiculous suppositions:
Hey, call me a free marketeer. Are you suggesting that we have government take over health care instead of just health insurance so we can guarantee sufficient supply to meet the demand? Because it sounds like you’re advocating the British system there.
.
t-bone says:
Your opposition to the workings of a free marketplace notwithstanding, explain to me what person in their right mind would desire to become a doctor within a universal system? Who would want to endure the training, cost, personal sacrifice and effort without the reward? The profit incentive is gone when the government runs health care.
OK, now you’re against the British system? Well first of all, the government would only have a competing option in health insurance, rather than taking over all of health care. Secondly, even in countries where the government provides all care directly, doctors make lots of money.
.
t-bone says:
Yeah, let’s let the bureaucrats make the decisions.
Bureaucrats make the decisions already. Private bureaucrats are worse than public bureaucrats. At least public bureaucrats are held accountable to the American people, rather than just their company’s shareholders.
.
t-bone says:
And they’re saying that there will not be a death panel.
That is correct. There will not be any death panels. That is an imaginative fabrication. Zero evidence has been produced of such a claim.

t-bone says:
Do you realize that you contradicted yourself when on the one hand you stated that the free market would solve the provision problem while on the other hand you state that the free market causes problems within the health care industry. This is the way people like yourself think: Profits = BAD.
Not at all. I don’t believe that free markets are perfect. Nor do I believe that they are evil. There are some things they do well (e.g. innovate), and other things that they do poorly (e.g. serve the public interest).
For most instances, the profit motive is aligned with serving the public interest. But if the profit motive disincentives companies from serving the public interest (as it occasionally does) then private competition is not the best way to make sure America’s needs get met. One example of such a conflict is fire departments – private fire departments historically engage in looting rather than prevention. Another such is health insurance.
In other words, I’m not an imbecile who subscribes to “all or nothing” thinking like you are. There are clear distinctions to be made between what works well in the free market and what doesn’t. You are apparently incapable of understanding those distinctions.
.
t-bone says:
Efficient? Like in cutting out the fraud and waste? Why don’t we start doing that now?
Because Republicans are trying to prevent Obama from doing so, using his proposal to streamline Medicare services as an excuse to frighten senior citizens.
That’s why.
.
t-bone says:
Why do we have to wait for a bill to be passed?
Because that’s how government functions under the Constitution – by Congressional mandate. Are you from another planet or something? Clearly you’re not a U.S. citizen.
.
t-bone says:
Options have been put out there which Obama refuses to hear. Tort reform, eliminating mandated state regulations so as to create more competition between insurance companies, creating tax-deductible savings accounts for health care.
1. During his speech, Obama explicitly authorized a go-ahead on a dropped Bush proposal to investigate reform of malpractice laws. The Republicans clapped and everything.
2. Remember when we dropped state-by-state regulations on the investment bank industry? Remember when all the investment banks crashed last year? Maybe not…
3. Tax-deductible saving accounts for health care have been in existence since the Clinton administration. I have one.
Crap, it’s like trying to argue current events with Rip Van Winkle up in here…
.

The last election had the greatest turnout since 1960. America was paying attention, trust me.

It’s sad, really. Congrats, you’ve earned my pity.
September 13th, 2009 at 9:47 pmBravo, ElBruce, noone else would have the patience to do this guy’s understanding for him.
And t-bone, universal single-payer, (which about 80 in the House support, (putting them to the left of Obama, who never had it on the table) would save us $350 billion every year in paperwork alone (no reduction in doctors’ pay). You know how we know? Because every other developed country in the world has universal coverage—many with single-payer. That’s why the US’s system ranks 37th in the world.
September 14th, 2009 at 12:32 amHey Keith – France and Germany have more competition among health insurers than the U.S. does right now. Incredibly, both of these socialist countries have less state regulation of health insurance than we do, and you can buy health insurance across regional lines – unlike here, where a federal law allows states to ban interstate commerce in health insurance. You want to punish insurance companies and prevent disastrous universal health coverage? Make them compete. Only liberals think they can improve the problem of a partial monopoly by turning it into a total monopoly. It’s the famous liberal double-speak: First screw something up because there’s not enough government oversight (it’s the free market run wild!) and then step in and really screw it up in the name of “reform” Keith, you should not tread into waters where you are so obviously ill-informed. Listen up: Government-provided health care is NOT a competitor; it’s a monopoly paid for by the taxpayer. Obama, himself compared national health care to the post office. But what most people don’t know is that, with certain narrow exceptions, competing with the post office is prohibited by law. Expect the same with national health care. You people won’t stop until you have total control. I guess it makes sense: How else will you get people to pay for your sex-change operations?
Comrade ElJerk-off: So what you are saying is this: “If you like MediCare, you’ll love national health care, which will just extend Medicare’s benefits to everyone. Look at it this way – Medicare is bankrupt because it operates similar to a Bernie Madoff investment model commonly known as a Ponzi scheme. These always seem to run real well – until the money runs out. Not only is Medicare bankrupt, but it is extremely limited in whom and what it covers. If Medicare were a private insurer, it would be illegal in many states for failing to cover items such as hearing aids, podiatry, acupuncture, chiropractic care, marriage counseling, aromatherapy and gender reassignment surgery. Get my point? In addition, Medicare payments aren’t enough to pay the true cost of those medical services it does cover. With Medicare undercutting payments to hospitals and doctors for patients 65 and older, what keeps the American medical system afloat are private individuals who are not covered by Medicare paying the full cost. That’s why we end up paying $10 for an aspirin on our hospital bills. National healthcare will eliminate everything outside of MediCare, which is the only thing that allows Medcare to exist. So it seems somewhat ridiculous for people such as yourself to say that national health care will merely extend Medicare to the entire population. It would be like claiming that you are designing an apartment building in which every apartment is a penthouse. Everyone likes the penthouses, so why not have a building in which every apartment is a penthouse? Because it doesn’t work. What makes the penthouse the penthouse is all the other floors below. An “all-penthouse” building is a blueprint that could make sense only to someone who has never run a business and has zero common sense, i.e. a Democrat

The public option would be a competitor. Private universities and delivery services are a thriving industry.

t-bone says:

No, the Medicare schedule does cover costs, and makes sure that it does so. That $10 aspirin was to cover the costs of unreimbursed emergency care for the uninsured.
.
t-bone says:
So it seems somewhat ridiculous for people such as yourself to say that national health care will merely extend Medicare to the entire population.
Indeed it does. Good thing I never said that.
You know, you’re actually somehow managing to make less and less sense with each post. I’d like to recommend that you actually go watch a video of Obama’s speech and look at the proposal that he submitted (not lies about it from a right-wing site, but the actual text) before you continue ranting about it. You seem to have no idea whatsoever what you’re talking about.

I lived in London for twelve years and had an appendectomy, root canal, broken nose, stiches, eye exams, and dental exams. I paid nothing out of pocket. I know that every other developed country in the world pays one-half or less of what we pay. I know that none of these countries would have our system. I know we rank 37th in the world. I know we would save $350 billion every year in paperwork alone by having single-payer. I know the AMA favors Obama’s plan. I know my brother and wife went bankrupt with about $400,000 in medical bills with the birth of their twins. I know that a car made in Detroit costs $1500 more than the same car made across the river in Canada because of our expensive healthcare.
September 14th, 2009 at 1:10 pmI priced sending a priority package from the west coast to the east coast and it was $19 by FedEx and $4.75 by the Post Office. I think it strange that people complain about 44 cents to send a letter 3,000 miles and then walk into a cinema and pay six dollars for a coca-cola!
September 14th, 2009 at 1:16 pmElBruce says:
And Obama’s plan is designed to retain competition as well. In fact, it pretty much sounds like you’re completely endorsing “Obamacare” with most of your first paragrah.
On the contrary, Obama’s “plan” does not endorse competition, rather a universal plan which will force everyone to use the “public option”. Get smart. We need insurance companies competing with each other. We need a third, fourth and 45th competing insurance company that will undercut the current arrangement by offering better service at lower prices.
ElBruce says:
The public option would be a competitor. Private universities and delivery services are a thriving industry.
The public option would not be a competitor once everyone is on it. Do you honestly believe that the government does not have every intention of eventually running the entire system. They will control every aspect of your life, health wise, once everyone is on the public plan. If you truly believe that the government will be looking out for your best interests in this regard then you probably also believe that Barney Frank knew nothing about that homosexual thing going on in his basement.
El Bruce says:
It isn’t illegal for a private insurer to not cover any of those things what you mentioned.
It is if the state mandates that any of those things are required to be covered.
El Bruce says: (regarding universal health care being compared to ponzi scheme)
No it doesn’t. But if you are really that obtuse in identifying what such things actually are, I’ve got some exciting investment opportunities for you.
Bruce, think of this whole public option thing as one big scam. It is set up so that eventually everyone will opt for it out of choice or by being forced into it. The MediCare system as it currently stands relies on private sector money to keep it afloat. As more and more people go onto the public plan there will less and less money coming from the private sector. Eventually the government will have to raise taxes -big time – in order to handle the increased costs. If you want the public option you will eventually have to pay for it.
By the way, what exactly is the plan that is being discussed? Is it a “health care reform” plan or a “health insurance reform” plan. Obama and his minions realized that they had better traction by villifying the insurance companies and so today what used to be health care reform is now health insurance reform. Absolutely pathetic. Obama plays that class warfare game constantly which is why he is so disliked.
But as long as it is now a health insurance reform plan the question needs to be asked: what good is health insurance if the health care provided sucks. Great, you have health insurance. But try getting decent health care.
You mentioned earlier that private universities are thriving. Yeah, if you can afford them. I’m glad you brought this up. Public education, in comparison, is an unmitigated disaster rife with corruption fraud and waste – much like universal health care would eventually become. In 1900 when public education was first instituted, only 10% of school-age children were enrolled in public schools. Today over 93% of school-age childfren are enrolled in public schools. The “public option” is forced upon people primarily because they cannot afford the “private option”. The taxpayer is footing the enormous bill to finance the public education system – and for what? So that kids can be reading at 6th grade levels when they graduate high school? Homeowners, working stiffs etc.are literally captive hostages in the running of this scam enterprise. Hey, I’d be all for public education if it really and truly benefitted the kids. But the system has become nothing more thaan a corrupt political cesspool with layer upon layer of entrenched bureaucrats living the life. And who do you think runs this system? Why,the Democrats of course. They CONTROL the public education system by virtue of a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” mentality. The teachers union in NYC is the most powerful union in ny and look how that has benefitted the kids. The system cannot get any bigger and yet it does. Unfettered government will always grow while we all suffer.
Now it’s one thing when you’re talking education but an entirely different matter when you’re talking health care. Using education as an example I do not want the effen government making decisions involving my health care, or what type of health care I am entitled to, or how I should live my life, etc. This is how it will go down if the government is in control of the entire system: You want health care? Quit smoking. You want health care: lose 75 pounds. You want health care? stop eating fried foods. And it doesn’t stop there. The governement will impose taxes and fees on products or behaviors that they feel do not promote good health. All in the name of preventive health measures and “cutting costs” They’re doing it already. Is this what you want?
The government is already telling us what lightbulbs we can use in the name of efficiency and “global warming” Not to mention that the auto industry will be forced to manufacture only cars that get 35 mpg. Is this what you want? Total government control of every aspect of our lives.
This country became great because we were free to choose, free to pursue our dreams and hopefully become successful, free to promote innovation and operate within a capitalist system. The profit incentive works – and that includes health care.
We have the greatest medical technology in the world precisely because we operate within a capitalist system. A system that is exemplified in the concept of competition and market forces. ObamaCare destroys competition much like public education has. We are the worse for it and we will be the worse for it. We need to encourage competition in private health insurance as opposed to wiping it out. Don’t be fooled by the public option. It is a trap designed to ensnare all of us eventually. It’s ironic but it used to be the liberals who were against the establishment. How times have changed.
BTW: This will be my last post. Good Luck To You All
September 14th, 2009 at 2:01 pmt-bone says:

1. You don’t know what his plan is. You haven’t read it, and haven’t listened to his speech.
2. Universal care and public option are two different and mutually exclusive methods.
.
t-bone says:
The public option would not be a competitor once everyone is on it.
Except that only a few people would need to be on it, according to the CBO. You know, it would save us both a lot of time if you’d just pay the slightest attention to current events.
.
t-bone says:
It is if the state mandates that any of those things are required to be covered.
But as a matter of simple fact, it does not.
.
t-bone says:

No.
.
t-bone says:
You mentioned earlier that private universities are thriving. Yeah, if you can afford them.
Precisely. So your prescription for this problem is to eliminate any cheaper option, leaving higher education only for the wealthy.
.
t-bone says:
In 1900 when public education was first instituted, only 10% of school-age children were enrolled in public schools. Today over 93% of school-age childfren are enrolled in public schools.
And now everybody gets an education through high school, as opposed to no education at all.
In 1900, the majority of the country was illiterate.
.
t-bone says:
We have the greatest medical technology in the world precisely because we operate within a capitalist system.
We are 37th in the world in overall quality of health care provided. We spend 40% more than the #1 ranked country to be so.
.
Your approach here is based on a blatant lie – that if only privatized services exist, everybody gets those services at better quality. However, in all of the instances you’ve cited (and more!) when only private services existed, only the rich could afford them; everyone else got nothing.
Furthermore, the quality wasn’t actually better than what’s now available through public methods; the existence of a public option forces the private entities to make their services actually worth putting a premium price tag on them them. That’s fine, and it works great. It pushes the private providers to innovate, and those innovations then become “standard,” filtering down to the public service, and pushing the private providers even further. Perfect example: FedEx and overnight delivery.
But the simple fact is, the status quo sucks. If everybody actually had cheap, quality health care that actually served them right now, then there wouldn’t be a problem, and we wouldn’t be having this discussion to begin with. But there is a problem, and it is enormous and growing rapidly. Which means that you’re spectacularly wrong about everything, starting right out of the gate.
I’ll admit that things won’t be perfect after health care reform passes. Yes, sometimes people will be denied coverage for things. But what you refuse to admit is that people are denied coverage every day right now, and for far worse reasons.
.
t-bone says:
BTW: This will be my last post.
I’d cheer, but you’re probably lying about that too.
