This morning, Reps. Tom Price (R-GA) and Michele Bachmann (R-MN) participated in a panel on health care reform at the Values Voter Summit. During the question-and-answer period, an audience member asked, if Democrats are able to pass health reform, “how do we roll this back in 2010 and 2012?”
Fielding the question, Price quipped that, if “they strong-arm it through — if they Rahm [sic] it through,” then Republicans will take back the House and Senate. Price continued:
The specific answer to your question is two-fold: Once we have the appropriate checks and balances in Congress, then we have a great opportunity to sit down with President Obama and say, we’re happy to talk about whatever issues you’d like to talk about, but first we need to repeal the disaster and the tyranny that you passed last session.
The right-wing crowd responded with strong applause. Watch it:
Price isn’t the first Republican member to suggest that the GOP agenda, should they take back the Congress, would be to repeal health reform. Appearing on Fox News last month, Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) said that if the Republicans win back the House, “I’ll be Chairman Joe Barton of the Energy and Commerce Committee, and we’ll repeal it.”
This weekend’s Values Voter Summit, sponsored by Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council, is featuring a who’s who of the conservative movement, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. Besides today’s health care event, the conference will also feature a breakout session on “Global Warming Hysteria: The New Face Of The ‘Pro-Death’ Agenda.”
And no doubt, the Bells of Freedom™ were chiming in the background as Rep Price (CrazyR-GA) spoke…
September 18th, 2009 at 11:30 amThat is a seriously big IF there, dawg.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:30 amWill they be so busy trashing socialist healthcare reform and the bogus global warming issue that they won’t have time for the homos and baby killers?
snark/off
September 18th, 2009 at 11:31 amAnd I’m talking more about the possibilities of the GOP taking back “their” Congress.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:31 amTyranny! This SOB actually said Tryanny! After all Bush has said and done this Guy has the balls to accuse Obama of tyranny? WTF? Hypocrisy in the Repug Party knows no bounds!
September 18th, 2009 at 11:34 amWanna bet?
September 18th, 2009 at 11:34 amWhich is accurate to say, because a veto pen would be unconstitutional tyrannical socialism as of January 20, 2009.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:34 amThis comment has been voted down. Click to read.
The psychotic rantings of the once great Republican party continue to escalate. Hopefully they’ll nominate the dining room table for their Presidential candidate. The sad thing will be, some folks (23%) will vote it.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:35 amNot sure if Rep. Nutbar understands that he needs two thirds of the votes in both chambers to repeal anything over a presidential veto. These people don’t seem to know much about how government works — but I guess everyone who wasn’t in a coma between 1/20/01 and 1/20/09 already knows that.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:35 amWhy do Republicans hate America??
September 18th, 2009 at 11:35 am“we’re happy to talk about whatever issues you’d like to talk about, but first we need to repeal the disaster and the tyranny that you passed last session”
What an enlightened position there, Little Timmy.
I have an alternate thought for you: how about the republican party apologizes for the disaster that GDumbya/Darth Cheney was and publicly declares its obligation to be part of the solution rather than the problem going forward?
You know, if you do that, you might actually stand a fighting chance of being allowed back into the mainstream of the political process and being seen as a legitimate national party in the future.
I doubt that the right-wing stalwarts would be able to swallow hard enough to make this happen but it is nice to think that it could. The greater likelihood is that the nihilist right will just keep heading for the cliff they are about to fall off and we will be left without a viable loyal opposition. I frankly think that is unfortunate.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:36 amThis sounds like a great 2010 political ad…for the Democrats.
Oh, and I just heard that “aaronk” sound again. Did Limbaugh, O’Reilly, or Beck pull another “fact” out of their backside?
September 18th, 2009 at 11:38 amanybody that pins thier success on the failure of health care reform deserves to lose.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:38 am@8, Hey. You seem curious about what we have to say. If you don’t, you can split. See Ya!
September 18th, 2009 at 11:38 amWhy Americans vote to return to suffering? They voted pretty well for democrats. My party is akin in ideology to the multitude of tanks in Tieneman square – except we’ll crush you even if you agree with us.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:38 amDo they seriously think they can get enough to over turn a veto?
Even if they are able to overturn it do they not think it will kill them as a party?
September 18th, 2009 at 11:39 amPeople who approved the Patriot Act and repealed Habeas Corpus on the whim of the President should not talk about tyranny.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:39 amfeel? you don’t feel. you don’t think. you just spew whatever you hear from the liars who ‘lead’ your party.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:40 amFred@14, Yeah. I LOVE how the Repugs call Obama a failure. He has passed a ton of legislation. Lily Ledbetter, Sonia Sotomoyer, S-Chip, ….. The Repugs like to think he has failed. We know better. (P.S. The Righties are STILL pissed about Sotomoyer)
September 18th, 2009 at 11:41 amThis is one case where “the price isn’t right”.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:41 amaaronk says:
this is “big news” that there is another side to this country? You mean people actually feel differently than the TP posters?
Oh we feel differently, way differently. Radically different. Bone-crushing different. Waterloo different. Coax-the-dems-into-doing-nothing-so-people-can-vote-us-back-in-and-we’ll-make-’em-suffer different.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:42 amThere have always been brain-addled people. They just usually didn’t become presidents from texas.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:42 amSounds like a few Republicans forgot their psychotropics today.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:43 amP.D. says:

Sliiiight minor nitpick: it’s spelled Sotomayor.

These R’s a massive wussies.
Aaron – stop pretending that History began in January of this year. It is utterly ridiculous of you to expect everyone else to suffer the same kind of memory loss you’re suffering from.
i’m sorry.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:45 amby the way aaronk, I am having contract documents drawn and an account set up. You will have to sign before a notary and return the contract documents. Then I will send the routing number.
Are you still as brave as you were yesterday or do you want to chicken out?
You will have to prove who you are and provide tax forms, etc. and these will be public information as you agreed yesterday.
We could handle it easier if you want to just post your information on the internet although I don’t know how you could prove who you are that way unless you also post your birth certificate.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:47 am“Why, I’m so glad you asked that question, my little insurance industry plant. It warms my heart to see ordinary (rich corporate) Americans participating in our (fake) democracy.”
September 18th, 2009 at 11:48 amWhy don’t the Republicans want the American people to have health care? Maybe they are too busy taking care of the insurance industries profits? Only answer I can think of. I would hate to think they are just being mean, while enjoying their own government sponsored health care. Hey, Republicans, you dislike government health care so much, why don’t you give your own up?
September 18th, 2009 at 11:51 am#8,
erin,
this one has your name written all over it:
VALUES VOTER SUMMIT 2009 Preliminary Schedule
(as of September 10, 2009) – Speakers and times are subject to change.
4:15 – 5:00 p.m.
BREAKOUT SESSION TWO
THE NEW MASCULINITY – CONGRESSIONAL A
Dr. Pat Fagan, Senior Fellow and Director, Center for Family and Religion, FRC; Michael Schwartz, Chief of Staff, Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.); Dr. Matthew Spalding, Director, B. Kenneth Simon Center for Studies, The Heritage Foundation
Feminism has wreaked havoc on marriage, women, children and men. It is time to redress the disorder it has wrought and that must start with getting the principles and ideals for a new “masculinism” right. Such a “masculinism” will have its dovetailing counterpart in a new “feminism” for they mutually define each other and, in nature, are meant to be complementary. This panel will begin this exploration.
**
“masculinism”, erin.
are you onboard?
are you ready to “begin this exploration”?
:0
September 18th, 2009 at 11:51 amThis just in : Zombie Republicans receive latest download from the mothership. Approved by Orly Taitz, when you just want a boatload of crazy.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:52 amAnd if you want to see Rep. Nutbar’s head explode keep asking him how he can promise repeal of whatever reform bill comes out of congress this year without also advocating repeal of “socialist” programs like Medicare.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:52 amHAHAHAHA
fun-nee as hell.
repugs just don’t understand…YOUR WIDDLE CLUB IS BYE-BYE.
repugs can’t take back the USA and finish destroying it.
Dream on, teabaggers!
September 18th, 2009 at 11:53 amSo we have a democratically elected President trying to pass legislation that 75% of the Nation wants. The teabag, birther, deather, tenther, czarist, racist, whackjob contingent that has had such a loud voice in the MSM represent a miniscule percentage of the People. If and I say this with huge emphasis on the “IF”, if the Repubs were to retake Congress and repeal this they would then face the wrath of an actual grass roots effort of a MAJORITY of the American people. It would make the astroturf movement look like a spit in the ocean. Do these loony reps REALLY want to face an actual “watering of the tree of Liberty”? I seriously doubt it.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:53 amIt’s sad to see elected politicians this delusional..
September 18th, 2009 at 11:55 amEnnu@36, We should be used to it by now. Bachman, Foxx, Wilson, Palin….
September 18th, 2009 at 11:57 amOh, give me a break. The republicans had been against every social reform for over a 100 years now – but apart from cutting taxes they never repealed anything. After all, their base says: “keep your government off my medicare”, remember?
So easy, even IF (and that’s a huge if) they take back congress, they would never repeal health care.
Now, of course we only have to get health care in the first place.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:58 amDidn’t batsht crazy say them GOPiggies were going to slit their wrists?
Someone alert Farmer John while I short the Nov 2010 GOPig bellies.
If Limpo and the sht flinging Baboon are going to be the official GOPig spokeswine along with Palin, Joe Wilson, Gra$$ley, and Sanscrotum… hey, go right ahead. Keep driving the GOPig lemmings further into alienation.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:59 amHAHAHAHAHA! Hey Mr. Price you’d better start forming the confederate army ASAP, because you will never take back the congress unless you use military force because intelligent American people will not vote for you nutjobs on the right!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:00 pmFortunately when health care reform passes and the people are happy with the changes all this video will still be available to show their constituents what a$$es these people are.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pmYou’re going to demand his long-form birth certificate, right?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pmtombaker says:
Unnecessary War = OK
Trip to the Doctor = TYRANNY!!!
September 18th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Great point, tombaker.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pm**
i guess if erin really doesn’t give a shi† then
this little “tea party” can’t be that big a deal.
*
September 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pm“masculinism”, erin.
are you onboard?
Fired up!
Ready to go!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:02 pmI believe airing Michele Bachmann slitting her wrists on pay per view would cover the expense of health care reform. What do you say Michele? Do it for the good of your country and your constituents!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:02 pmHey Rep “Hissy Fit” Price – this ISN’T 1993 and next year won’t be 1994.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:03 pmRep. Price is following the plan and he also voted for Immigrants to get Free US Health Care in 2003. Now the GOP and Protesters see no problem giving free Health Care to immigrants and even giving away 1 Trillion to Iraq. But in no way will the US taxpayer get help on the GOP Watch. Jeb Bush promised his brother the votes from the State of Florida and the fix was on. Now I guess Republican Leader Rush Limbaugh has the fix on for the GOP to get back the White House and Branches of Government in 2010. Fixing the voting machines, denying Americans the right to vote and tossing out votes will work again as it did in 2000 and 2004. I’ve noticed how the GOP and Media are making this a black vs white attack. Someone should notify the GOP the Latino vote and Asian vote will become the largest.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:03 pmIf we get meaningful health care reform you can kiss your asses goodbye (R), which is probably why you lie about it so much.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:04 pmSurely they are not serious!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:04 pmSurely it will be the kiss of death for their party if a health care plan is passed and they attempt to repeal it.
It will be political suicide — hmmm, on second thought….
Ralph, very good point. Long form birth certificate.
aaronk?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:05 pmLOL, you wish! The GOP is bluffing – Dems need to call them on it. A strong Progressive Reform bill will be an election winner for Dems, and a heavy burden for those who opposed it.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:07 pmOh I’m sure that if the Dems push through a proper healthcare reform under the reconciliation process, that the repubs are gonna take it back.
People will then be so happy that they lost their healthcare.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:08 pm/NARF!
Hmm… so the good Congressman thinks that a President signing legislation passed by both houses of Congress would be “tyranny”, huh?
I think this calls for a healthy dose of Jon Stewart:
I think you might be confusing “tyranny” with “losing”.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:08 pmYo, Mr. Price, who and where are these responsible republicans that you speak of? I think they are urban legends just like Big foot, or the Lochness monster or have long been extinct along with the Do-do bird.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:09 pmGettting rid of the greedy middleman special interest is the same as tyranny?
Sheesh, drop the fear factor already.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:10 pmRepugs would LOVE to get rid of ‘Social Security’ and ‘Medicare’. Of cousre they would never flat out and say it because all the old geezers would toss them out on their ass. I just keep thinking.. What if Bush got his way and Privatized ‘Socail Security’? Wouldn’t there be a ton of old people on the street? Funny how Repugs forgot about that….
September 18th, 2009 at 12:11 pmYep there is another side to this country, the side that lost.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:13 pmGeorgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Texas will not change. These states will still be Republican. The fool from Georgia has probably never spent anytime outside of the South so he really can’t speak for the rest of nation. The truth is that Republicans know that if health care reform passes, they will be further marginalized and lose more seats in Congress.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:13 pmDisaster? Tyranny? No memory or self-awareness in this GOP thug.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:14 pmWatching these hypocrites speak of “tyranny” turns my stomach.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmI guess they are in denial that their tent has gotten very small.
Only really, really, really stupid people would vote for a republican….
….oh, forgot, we have a lot of really stupid people.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmYea, good luck with that. Thrown in social security and Medicare while you’re at it.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:16 pmWe’re ever so aware of that segment of the population – if you remembered anything, you’d know that we just spent 8 years under the “leadership” of a charlatan they elected.
Right now, I’m no more inclined to heed their desires, than I am to leave the doors of my house open 24-7 to please the cats.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmEl@61, I guess ‘Tyranny’ is the new buzz word. They have tried everything else Nazi, Socialist, Marxist, Facist, ….
September 18th, 2009 at 12:18 pmHow soon Price has forgotten the unitary, above the law, executive, authoritarian ideology and tha vast increase of the office of president under that previous administration.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:18 pmThe repiggies are delusional swine.
Price is a retard.
Moroni is baloney, and Beck is dreck.
Screw the repiggies, and screw the teabagger trash.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:18 pmThe truth is that the Dems. have a better chance of losing the Congress if health care is not passed.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:20 pmPrice and his fellow thugs know it.
And, in no way, is health INSURANCE reform, by congressional means, IE Voting, a tyranny. If its what the majority wants, thats called DEMOCRACY its our form of government in this REPUBLIC.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:20 pmI wonder if (R) Price thinks Nixon was a tyrannical ruler for pushing for Health insurance reform?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:21 pmShorter Price: My cronies are mad you want to abolish their greed!!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:22 pmI think this is great news!
I can’t think of a better platform for the Republicans in the upcoming mid-terms than repealing health care reform!
Can they add privatizing Medicaid and Medicare, too?
They could call their platform, ‘Contract the size of America’ since it will kill so many Americans, or simply the ‘Wolf in Cheap Clothing Plan’ since it will pray on the weak and sick… and the lame seem to have found a permanent home drafting their parties strategy.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:22 pmI get a kick out of how scared of us the Right are.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:23 pmOh, of course. Nixon was a liberal, doncha know.
And Kennedy cut taxes, so he was a conservative.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:25 pmPerry#73, They ALWAYS seem afraid of something don’t they? Everyday they are looking under their beds for some new, bad boogie-man.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:25 pmLOL! Conservatives in la-la land.
There are NO scenarios in which they would take control of the Senate in 2010.
If they did try to repeal healthcare, Obama would veto it.
BTW, that must really comfort residents of GA & MN to know that their elected leaders are going to deny them healthcare coverage AFTER it passes.
Real nice …
September 18th, 2009 at 12:29 pmWhat losers like Pryce will do, when HC does pass,
is go back to their home states and take credit for it,
like they did with The Stim.
You’re not foolin’ anyone Pryce – you’ve got about as much integrity as you do hair.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:29 pmGenerally, the term “over-reaching” applies to the majority party when they go too far with what they feel was an electoral mandate.
Little Timmy Price is showing that even a minority party that was unceremoniously rejected by the electorate last year can be guilty of over-reaching*, too. What a land of opportunity we live in, huh?
* or am I just mistaking a “reach-around” for “over-reaching” in this case
September 18th, 2009 at 12:30 pmoliely is already getting started. He’s now for the public option……irony.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:31 pmInteresting how republicans can see disater coming but could not prevent or deter any of the numerous disasters that occured during the last administration.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:31 pmValues voters? What values do these b@stards really have, hate, lies, racism? They need to have a summit for this? They seem to come by it naturally.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:31 pmit means they “value” themselves above all else.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:32 pmJust compare bush’s so called mandate when he barely won in 04 to Obama’s mandate where he won by a literal landslide.
Irony, again.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:32 pmOkay, it’s been well-established that Republicans want to “bring down” the President because it would be better for their Party.
(Note: In a certain sense, this is not necessarily “Party Before Country” because they think that only Republican policies will serve the nation, so in a twisted way, this IS for the good of the nation, in their minds. A failed presidency is, to them, the best way to advance the nation. As long as it’s a Democratic presidency.)
So, that being said, why wouldn’t they be encouraging the Democrats to pass and enact a bill that will be as big a disaster as they claim? After all, it would probably usher in a generation of Republican rule, right?
In fact, what really worries them is that the Democrats will pass a bill that will prove wildly popular and, in the words of Billy Kristol, writing about the Clinton health care plan in 1993: “It will revive the reputation of the party that spends and regulates, the Democrats, as the generous protector of middle-class interests.”
It’s no different today, and it scares the shit out of them.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:33 pmOnly problem is when they run for reelection their opponents can pull out this video and show the truth. Kind of changes the whole ballgame.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:33 pmWhat morons. The Baucus bill is a gift to the insurance companies and a way to ensure the status quo remains for at least 20 more years. They should be embracing this bill as a bipartisan effort and laughing to the bank.
Unless something drastic changes the Baucus bill is nothing but a disaster for health care reform, and these right wing nut jobs are too stupid to vote for the bill.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:34 pmMore irony.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:34 pmThere’s a reason for that.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmRepublicans fought Medicare tooth and nail. They called it socialism and predicted a complete government takeover of health care. Some even vowed to overturn Medicare when they had the political ability to do it…
How’d that work out?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmTyranny???
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmThe GOP & right-wingers have absolutely no idea what democracy is, nor do they wish to participate in it. They are temper tantrum screaming children who want it their way or nothing.
aaronk says:

this is “big news” that there is another side to this country? You mean people actually feel differently than the TP posters?
Your right there is another side that’s why Obama is in office.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmRepresentative Price has apparently forgotten about the availability of the Presidential veto. What if Price was a dumbass; what if he was a Republican? Ah, but I repeat myself.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmIf the GOP is so sure that if Obama signs a Healthcare Reform Bill, it will ensure their takeover of Congress in midterms, why are they not humping for its success?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pmShayne says:
Values voters? What values do these b@stards really have, hate, lies, racism? They need to have a summit for this? They seem to come by it naturally.
It’s to indoctrinate the less value-gifted, silly.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:37 pm@81, Yeah, some VALUES. Tony Perkins and his band of merry goons have been bashing gays and womens rights for years. But good ole Tony has been losing influence in the last couple of years. Young Evangelicals are leaving their elders churches in droves. Unlike Tony and Organizations like ‘Operation Rescue’, young people care for the environment, social justice and the poor. Unlike their elders who ONLY care about gay bashing and abortion and don’t seem to care about anything else. Health Care reform is nothing to guys like Perkins. Which is ironic because even Jesus cared for the ill.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:38 pmIn your wet dreams, Rep Price.
If this health care fix isn’t in place for 2010 elections, your party of fading old white guys will get their asses handed to them. Again.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:40 pmralph@88, Holy Crap! No wonder I haven’t seen this on MSM! The Repug Party is a bunch of wimps! LOL! No wonder why that dude said he didn’t believe it. He can’t admit his fellow Repugs were a fearful group of pansies! LOL!
September 18th, 2009 at 12:42 pmWalt: “If the GOP is so sure that if Obama signs a Healthcare Reform Bill, it will ensure their takeover of Congress in midterms, why are they not humping for its success?”
What you’re saying there, Walt, is a grave danger to conservative ideology. It’s called “critical thinking.”
September 18th, 2009 at 12:42 pmThe statement Price made is illogical. If its signed into law that means it passed the house and senate and PBO could possiblty veto it. Thats our process and that this guy is inciting people, with fear, against that process, is just Orwellian
September 18th, 2009 at 12:43 pmTP,
Please tell us you’re covering the Values Voters this weekend…
September 18th, 2009 at 12:45 pmI wonder when mainstream of Christians in America will reach the breaking point against the definitively un-Christian right wing agenda, if they ever do. There’s got to be some point at which they’ll realize they’re supporting the minions of Satan.
.
ralph the wonder llama says:
And Kennedy cut taxes, so he was a conservative.
In his tax cuts, Kennedy only cut the top marginal rate from 91% to 77%. During the Clinton years, it was at 39.6%. It is currently at 35%. I don’t think Kennedy’s tax cuts are relevant to the current right wing agenda.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:46 pmThis comment has been voted down. Click to read.
This clown is a fool and a dummy. The Constitution has already established a system of checks and balances for the three branches of government. What he is actually saying is the rethuglicans will only sit down and talk to President Obama if they have either: a) a majority in Congress, or b) they control at least 1/2 of Congress, or c) he’s lying; they never plan to work with President Obama
Of course the only answer for rethuglicans is C.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:54 pmThe Republicans are am amalgam of economic, Southern and Christian conservatives along with the kook fringe. There is no leader that can unite the factions and articulate a vision that will attract the middle of the road voters. At best the Republicans can win elections based on dissatisfaction with the Dems. The independent voters are sensitive to economic issues. People vote their pocketbook and it is imperative that the economy improve and the Dems implement a program to bring down the deficit. That will mean painful choices on the federal level for cutting spending and/or increasing taxes. The latter is not viable because that will give Republicans an issue. Obama will need to work magic to fix the deficit.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:56 pmaaronk, you understand that all of your personal and private information will become public. Your social security number, your tax information, everything.
You agree to this?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:57 pmElBruce, you did get the sarcastic tone in my comment about Nixon and Kennedy, didn’t you?
September 18th, 2009 at 1:00 pmFollow this link to see that Rep. Price’s major contributor is “healthcare professionals”.
Each federal politician has a page at this site to explain how he or she is financed.

September 18th, 2009 at 1:14 pmsky is still falling on the rightie hysterics, eh? gotta turn up my hearing aids so I can hear it go ‘bonk’ off their empty heads.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:18 pmIf they’re really against government-sponsored healthcare, why not save taxpayer money and repeal their own health benefits that Congress provides for them? “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you…”
September 18th, 2009 at 1:22 pmFunny how the right wing lunatics are all whipped up in a frenzy over the cost of health care reform and ACORN yet not one of them utters a word of outrage over the corruption and fraud committed by Halliburton, KBR or BlackwaterUSA at the expense of our US soldiers and the US tax payer.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:27 pmSome live by it, others weaponize it…
This morning I was using my remote’s BACK button to flip back and forth between Michelle Obama on CNN and the Value Voters Summit on CSPAN.
I’m an atheist but was raised Christian, so I’m familiar with the messages of the Bible regarding treatment of our fellow man.
The VVS speakers were invoking the Bible to spread their lies, distortions, bigotry and hatred; our First Lady never mentioned the Bible as she practiced what it preaches.
Stunning contrast.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:29 pmRepublican mantra: Funding war and the war industry good, funding affordable health care for all Americans bad.
Here’s a little video (images and messages) I put together for a old band recording of a spontaneous combustion jam. I don’t think right wingers will like it very much. ;)

This certainly has sealed the GOP’s fate for 2010 and beyond.

The key word is proof. You have to prove who you are.
If you want to welch, that’s your right but just man up and admit it.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:44 pmaaronk, I made an offhanded remark betting thay you worked for the insurance industry. You are the one that took up that gauntlet and wanted to turn it into an actual bet.
You actually just wanted to look tough but now you have backed yourself into a corner.
I called your bluff and now the burden of proof is on you.

Not that I have a dog in this particular fight, aaronk… but you did say you’d publish it…
September 18th, 2009 at 1:51 pmAholes (teabaggers) don’t you know how utterly stupid you look? Every time you open your lips, stupid comes out.
What is the problem with helping the sick?
I don’t know why media treat your club as viable. This is ridiculous.
In conclusion, repugs aren’t going to cooperate, compromise, construct or co-sign any thing for 8 yrs. AND GOOD! They are flaming idiots.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:53 pmRachel Maddow showed a U.S. map last night where the states with the worst health care are located, where the most residents are uninsured, where teen pregnancy, stillborn, and poor neo-natal health are the highest in the land.
You’re right if you guessed the southern states and the worst of them is South Carolina.
Nationally, women’s health care statistics are much worse than men’s.

September 18th, 2009 at 1:54 pmI couldn’t watch much of that, joe, because the woman is painfully vacuous. I got to the part where she was rolling her eyes and before she could launch into “Ohmigod? Y’know?” I had to turn it off.
September 18th, 2009 at 1:59 pmMarie,
It just goes to show republicans hate women, the question is why?
September 18th, 2009 at 2:00 pmrepugs are foaming at the mouth, this indicates we are winning. The stupid should really fly now. Foam Baby Foam!
It’s going to be President Obama’s week-end. This is going to be good. Don’t have an heart attack teabaggers. HEHEHEHEHE
The repugs can’t understand it. HAHAHAHAHAHA
September 18th, 2009 at 2:03 pmWhen I saw the headline, I thought, “that can’t be right!”
You see, here in North Carolina, we have a Rep. Price, too. Rep. DAVID Price, who represents our fourth district and is a proud progressive Democrat. Needless to say, this is drivel he would never utter.
TP, if you must report on the lunatic ravings of this Congressman, could you start your headline with “Rep. Tom Price”?
September 18th, 2009 at 2:06 pmDamn you joe cantwell! /fist shaking
September 18th, 2009 at 2:14 pm90. dasm says: Tyranny???
The GOP & right-wingers have absolutely no idea what democracy is, nor do they wish to participate in it. They are temper tantrum screaming children who want it their way or nothing.
But dasm, isn’t that the epitomy of tyranny ????

September 18th, 2009 at 2:30 pmGeorge says – Hehehe, shock and awe, shock and awe, this will be great news to all my fellow crime lords, I’ll get to be the dictator again, and Dick can be a dick again. America needs more republican rule, we need to have the power to destroy everything, that’s the capitalist way, if you destroy something then those little have-nots have to remake what was destroyed, it’s the circle of life, destroy, make, destroy, make, destroy, make. Just like Iraq, I destroyed a lot of stuff, blowed the fck out of just everything, then blowed it up some more. So when we take over again, we can start destroying the world again and finish the job this time, what you think Dick, you want to be President again?
Dick says – I need fresh blood from cute kittens and puppies.
September 18th, 2009 at 2:32 pmJust a tad premature. Health care “reform” hasn’t passed and if it does, it is shaping up to be a huge boon to the insurance industry. Rather than roll it back, Republicans and many Democrats might be looking for ways to sweeten the deal for, as usual, the big money boys.
If it turns out to be real reform, the kind the people are hoping for, Republicans aren’t likely to get the chance to roll it back before it is solidly entrenched and accepted.
September 18th, 2009 at 2:40 pmRich H says:

The evil base their entire desired social structure on the application of power imbalance. Someone has to be on top, and they have to actively abuse those on the bottom enough to guarantee that the power imbalance is perpetuated. They use race, gender, location, population density and every other factor they can think of to divide people.
The reason that they occasionally put a underclass member on a pedestal is only if that person actively perpetuates the priviledge of the overclass. To them Michael Steele, Clarence Thomas and Alberto Gonzales are OK because they have a long history of skewing decisions to favor white people; whereas Sonia Sotomayor is not OK, not because she favors minority races over whites, but because she has not shown to favor whites over minorities. Remaining actually neutral on the subject makes you their enemy because reality has a well-known liberal bias.

September 18th, 2009 at 2:54 pmThe thought just occurred to me that the Dems are not using a potent argument against the Republicans. They had control of Congress since Clinton until 2006 and did nothing about health care. Now that the Dems are working on the issue, all of sudden they have ideas.

I think I’m going to put it on all the postings I do on any blog………shall we start a movement of our own?
September 18th, 2009 at 4:16 pmLOL! If Obama gets a strong public option, and signs it into law. The GOPers are done with. The 2010 elections will be a landslide for the Democratic party. And you all know what that means. An even larger majority.
September 18th, 2009 at 4:27 pmOf course they’ll say anything and do anything to derail this.
Because they know, that if Obama gets this right, it’s curtains for the GOPers.
They have nothing but fear. That’s how bad it’s gotten for them.
I got a question for the Values Voters. Making sure that all Americans have equal access to health care is bad values. Carrie Prejean strutting around on stage in a bikini and fake boobs is good values. I think she was surprised that people would judge her on her mind instead of her looks.
New idea for Repubes. 2012 ticket.
September 18th, 2009 at 5:43 pmSarah Palin for President and Carrie Prejean for Vice-Pres.
That’s it, prove once and for all Republicans are the party of ‘no’.

I think there’s a ripe market for wholesome Christian porn at this point. White blonde women gettin’ nekkid while talking about their relationship with Jeebus. That would probably sell pretty well below the Bible belt.
September 18th, 2009 at 6:45 pmRe: Joe Cantwell @ 120:
I tried to watch that vid, skippies and stickies included, but my ears started to bleed halfway through.
September 18th, 2009 at 8:16 pmThe GOP is extremely frightened of a Democratic victory on health care.
They know they have no ideas. And if the Dems pass HCR, Republicans will have to run against a popularly demanded reform.
Yikes!
September 19th, 2009 at 12:40 amOnce again we are duped into believing there’s a fight going on. I too was guilty of this thinking that the Republicans were in the pockets of the insurance industry, with the Dems being in the pockets of Big Pharma (concerning the issue of socialized medicine). The GOP is equally being paid off by Big Pharma. The reality is quite different.
For decades the insurance industry has been lobbying for mandated coverage for everyone. Imagine if the cell phone industry or the cable TV industry received such a gift from government? If government were to fine individuals simply for not buying a corporation’s product, it would be an incredible and completely unfair boon to that industry, at the expense of freedom and the free market. Yet this is what the current healthcare reform plans intend to do for the very powerful health insurance industry.
September 19th, 2009 at 11:14 amTo kitkat1627:
Doesn’t everyone vote on values? The only problem is that the values of our Senators and Presidents rarely resembles what they say in speeches. Nothing can replace reading the legislation a politician attempts to pass, as well as the legislation a politician attempts to block. This is where their true colors are revealed. Speeches are meaningless. Slogans are meaningless.
