VIDEO: Mission Accomplished For Conservatives Who Rooted Against America

Although the United States sent a high-powered delegation to make a last-ditch effort to bring the 2016 Olympics to Chicago, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ruled out the Windy City today. Of the final four cities — which also included Madrid, Toyko, and Rio — Chicago received the fewest votes. In his speech to the IOC in Copenhagen today, President Obama tied the American dream to the Olympic spirit in his pitch for the United States:

[Chicago is] a bustling metropolis with the warmth of a small town; where the world already comes together every day to live and work and reach for a dream — a dream that no matter who we are, where we come from; no matter what we look like or what hand life has dealt us; with hard work, and discipline, and dedication, we can make it if we try.

That’s not just the American Dream. That is the Olympic spirit. It’s the essence of the Olympic spirit. That’s why we see so much of ourselves in these Games. That’s why we want them in Chicago. That’s why we want them in America.

Always looking for a way to bring down Obama, conservatives not only criticized the President’s 15-hour trip, but also spent this week denegrating Chicago, downplaying the Olympics, and rooting against America. The criticisms have included mocking “fat people” in Chicago, gushing that Rio is just plain “awesome,” and saying that Chicago is too violent and doesn’t deserve the event. Watch a compilation:

So how will all these conservatives who have been rooting against the United States react now that their rhetoric has become reality? On Twitter, former Bush spokesman Scott Stanzel cautioned Republicans against gloating: “Note to GOP officials/consultants – resist the temptation to pile on about Chicago losing the Olympic bid just because Obama made the pitch.” His message didn’t reach RedState’s Erick Erickson, who immediately wrote:

Hahahahaha. I thought the world would love us more now that Bush was gone. I thought if we whored ourselves out to our enemies, great things would happen. Apparently not.

Bringing the Olympics wasn’t about cronyism. Besides U.S. pride, it was about an event that could have generated $22.5 billion in economic activity and the equivalent of 315,000 new full-time jobs in America.

Transcript:

SEAN HANNITY, 9/29: Tonight — Gang violence in Chicago leaves a teenager dead, and the shocking events are caught on tape. Should the President be pushing to bring the Olympics to this city?

MICHELLE MALKIN, 9/30: Well, this is all about the president’s Chicago cronies. That’s what this Olympic push is all about. And it starts with Richard M. Daley, the mayor of Chicago. He’s been there since 1989. He would like to see this $5 billion party cap off his long grand tenure. And it’s a great way to white wash all of the city’s ills in the windy city and in Illinois for that matter.

PAT CADDELL, 9/29: “Now in Chicago what we’re going to have is gangster politics that will make Al Capone so happy. This is the biggest ever outrage ever done the President of the United States.”

BRIT HUME, 9/29: Even if he does though, there are always going to be people who will always suspect he was on a political errand for Mayor Daley of Chicago, who has staked a lot of prestige on landing the Olympics, and a lot of people, I think, will not ever get over that idea.

BRETT BAIER: We’ll cover it.

DENNIS MILLER, 9/30: But I would caution the IOC to get ready. If they don’t award this Olympics to Chicago, and thus to President Obama, get ready to be deemed racist. That is the move.

BILL O’REILLY: And Oprah’s there too. They’re going to take a hit.

S.E. CUPP, 10/1: But on the other hand? Have you have you been to Rio? I have. It’s awesome. If I’m Rio, I’m not really worried. I mean, I don’t know — there’s conflicting stuff going on here. I’ll be surprised.

SEAN HANNITY: And they have a national holiday on the day of the announcement. So they’re fighting back.

CUPP: Well, Rio’s awesome. No offense to Chicago. I love the Cubs game.

GUILFOYLE: Everybody loves Rio.

CUPP: But Rio is awesome.

LOU DOBBS, 10/1: They are there talking — Michelle Obama talking smack with the First Lady of Brazil about the Olympics. Is this an appropriate — well, initiative on the part of the Obamas?

GLENN BECK, 9/30: ou know, I wouldn’t think that with everything that’s going on that Chicago and the Olympics would be a priority, but it is for this president, and his gal pal, because remember, they’re playing for all the gold.

BILL BENNETT, 10/1: BENNETT: Well, I’m actually for Rio. Somebody made the argument this afternoon — I guess it was Jack Cafferty — who said — and I don’t always agree with Jack, you may know, but he said, Rio, it’s beautiful women at the beach. In Chicago, it’s fat people eating. So, which would you rather see on TV?

ROLAND MARTIN: Have you seen Rio’s crime rate?

BENNETT: But let me say, one good thing — one good thing about Barack Obama going to Copenhagen and arguing for the United States and Chicago is, he is going to have to say some really very positive things about the United States while abroad, which is not something he has been doing.

WOLF BLITZER: All right, guys, on that note –

BENNETT: It will be a good thing. I would love to hear that.

MARTIN: Bill, that’s the first time you didn’t say buy American. I’m can’t believe you’re not supporting America.

BLITZER: Let the record show there are many, many beautiful women in Chicago as well.

  6. Mike Hunt says:

Why do Repingofascists like Bill Bennett, Dennis Miller, Sean Manatee and the rest of those jackals hate America? Its bad enough these Cheney-wipes are committing treason they are piling it on further in their hatred of an American city solely so they can gloat about an alleged Obama failure. What the Repignofascist mouthpieces can’t accept is that their philosophy LOST last November and that a majority of American’s no longer buy their hate-filled speech and their disdain for the country they allegedly love.

Again, why do Repignofascists hate America?

  7. nwyman says:

i think it should also be pointed out that when Toronto (my home town) lost the bid a few years ago for the Olympic bid, that CHINA won instead.

china, known for it’s human rights violations and censorship, but obviously that doesn’t matter.

the olympic committee is obviously NOT out to make a fair decision.

  9. EnnuiDivine says:

The pundits and politicians who came out so forceful against the Olympic bid are disgraceful. The Olympics are a matter of national pride, transcending partisan lines.

Just another thing for the “patriots” on the right to brag about: relishing in America’s failure.

No, we just find it odd that an American party would pin it’s success on the failure of America in any endeavor be it an Olympic bid or anything else.

Why do you guys do that? That’s why you’re irrelevant, ’cause you root against ANY success so you can have a moment of gloating… irrelevant and sad.

    Sorry.

gee – astounding incoherence on the part of the righties, who:

    then

  30. Daniels says:

Let the right-wing brag about the olympics not coming to America. It will only help the Democrats in the next election. Voters will see it as un-american to not support the president in bringing the olympics to the U.S.

Taking a day off to go lobby IOC isn’t something the GOP should focus on. Democrats can always use George Bush and his vacation time against them. Yet, more proof of how out of touch the GOP really is.

  31. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

My god my party stands against this nation. Our hatred for this country right now is under oath but off the record. A black man is running it and we’re determined to use the presidency as a chief way to uphold our stereotypes of those people as non-achievers. He made a good-hearted bid and didn’t succeed.

We have power to regain, ok, and we’ll blow up anything out of proportion to our choosing (including our wives).

  33. MapleStreet says:

I think you’re putting this in the right light by saying “Mission Accomplished” for the conservatives.

As I’ve said before: Undoubtedly, the IOC was following news releases in the potential host cities / countries. Undoubtedly, seeing the hatred demonstrated toward the idea of Chicago from the likes of Hannity et al. was a factor for them to consider.

  34. ElBruce says:

You know, I’ll bet you anything the IOC tuned in to FAUX News to see how America really felt about the 2016 Olympics and immediately realized that they wanted no part of getting into a big political left/right fight in the local country about whether they’d be welcome there or not.

The wingnuts are responsible for losing us the Olympics.

    .

    Daniels says:

The wingnuts are responsible for losing us the Olympics.

The government is out of control, many a politician will tell you that, but not why and likely because they are part of the problem and know it. The republicans used to be anti-trust. Now they lust after and ankle hump Mammon like many of their across the aisle fake wrestling partners.

The Sherman Antitrust Act (Sherman Act,[1] July 2, 1890, ch. 647, 26 Stat. 209, 15 U.S.C. § 1–7) requires the United States Federal government to investigate and pursue trusts, companies and organizations suspected of violating the Act. It was the first Federal statute to limit cartels and monopolies, and today still forms the basis for most antitrust litigation by the United States federal government.

And thats the problem with government today. Its seen as a golden cash cow. The bigger fool to wall street. And protector of profits to hedge fund called insurance scam. Yet here is todays ‘conservatives’,left and right, telling us that ‘free markets’ is the new democracy when conservatism is about, by many, preserving tradition.

    Hardly.

Politicians have helped create something our government was never supposed to be a protector, creator and often enabler of private profits.

Whether you agree with Moore or not [I personally dont watch his films] the problem is there.

I don’t think so. The Olympics have always been about avoiding politics. If whether or not the Olympics would be here in 2016 is a controversial political issue in America, then they won’t want to come here. When I try to think of a reason to kick Chicago in the first round of voting, the thing that really stands out is the fact that the political right wing in this country was spinning the Olympics as a negative thing. Look at it from the IOC’s point of view – why would they want to hold an Olympics in a country where a significant portion doesn’t want them there? Especially when there are plenty of other countries that overwhelmingly want them?

Fool me twice, shame on me.

In 1904, Chicago was awarded the Olympics, but representatives of St. Louis appealed that they already had the World’s Fair there, why not just add the Olympics too? That passed for sound enough reasoning to the IOC that they reneged on the awrd to Chicago, sending the games to St. Louis.

Now, 105 years later, Chicago is the first city in contention to be rejected by the IOC.

I say, very well. I say further that appeals for funds in support of the IOC should, in Chicago, be met with the same contempt with which the IOC greets Chicago’s appeals. Further yet, the City of Chicago should never again put itself in a position to spend any of its treasure to expose itself to being whipsawed by the IOC.

Am I being a bad sport? Perhaps, but I have judged the denizens of the IOC to be so many imperious a$$holes for a long time before this happened.

  181. belaccifer lacca says:

    Bush’s (who I don’t even like) budget shows a surplus by 2012

Yeah, it’s easy to do that when you just decide not to pay for stuff, huh?

According to the CBO, a vibrant economy has indeed produced a gusher of revenue over the past two years that could help turn the nation’s $248 billion deficit into a $170 billion surplus by 2012. But if the tax cuts and other expiring tax provisions are extended, the CBO predicts, the deficit would hit $146 billion in 2012 and grow thereafter as health costs skyrocket and the baby-boom generation retires.

The White House takes a different view, assuming that continuing the tax cuts would produce slightly more robust economic growth than the CBO foresees.

“The big difference between CBO and us is the tax relief. They don’t make it permanent, and we do. And we stand behind the economic benefits of the tax relief,” said an administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the budget had not yet been released.

There are other differences between the two projections. Bush’s budget projects slower spending growth from 2008 to 2012, with outlays rising 11.8 percent, compared with 14.7 percent in the CBO’s estimates.

Administration officials also exclude some potentially expensive items. Their request, for the first time, attempts to show the true cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the coming fiscal year, $145 billion, but includes just $50 billion for fiscal 2009 and nothing thereafter.

Do I think there will be a war? Yes. Do I know what to call it? No.

The Republicans are going to try to take over the government of the United States by assassinating as many Democrats and Democratic supporters they can, all within a few days time. Sort of an armed insurrection utilizing militia, and a some members of the formal military.

Difficult to see the outcome, but I have foreseen mass prisons for Republicans. Prison camps with lots of razor wire around them, with tents for the prisoners. That tends to make me think they will be unsuccessful, although they will kill many innocent people. The police will be quite successful at rounding them up once the violence begins and the military will not even need to be used heavily, except for the military law that will be put into effect shortly after the insurrection begins.

    Yeah, that’s not a racist claim! ;)

You obviously don’t know your history. Minorities in positions in power have suffered that doubt ever since Reconstruction when racist Southerners tried to defame and stereotype them as incompetent, subhuman animals in high positions of power that should have been occupied by “real humans.” Affirmative Action has been stereotyped as letting D and F minority students in over A white students, a racist claim that belies the facts.

What percentage of the black voters voted for BHO? I’ve seen the number put as high as 96%. Perhaps the IOC thought that was a racist reaction to a supposedly black presidential candidate and not the sort of competition the IOC wanted to promote.

Could it not be the fact that Obama lived most of his life in Chicago and that he was there representing his hometown? Now if you were being fair in your criticism, you would have questioned whether he would have gone if let’s say Houston or Philadelphia was biding for the Olympics, but since you’re a wingnut who has been swallowing everything Rush and his ilk say, you won’t.

Look fool, the fact that a writer (with conservative leanings) is publishing material (on a conservative website) concerning a military coup is tantamount to instigation. Have you ever heard of agents provocateurs?

This guy Perry is an agent provocateur. Just the mention of such a thing (coup) might cause some right-winger in a position of power to attempt such a vile act of treason.

Supporting any such writing on any public forum is also treasonous.

Don’t bother responding. You’re obviously too dumb and too right wing to reach with logic and reason.

When the President of the United States can’t go to a foreign country and root for America without having the right come down on him, then something is very wrong and very broken in this country. We are at an impasse, we can’t move forward or back and everyone just keeps screaming at everyone else and no one hears what anyone else is saying. The people of the United States are suffering from collective insanity and I don’t see it ending well.

  261. NOLIESPLEASE says:

I can’t believe how MSM is responding to this. First of all The Unitd States has hosted the Olympics several times. Rio never did. Second, the U.S. was one in five countries. The way MSM is treating this is unreal. Remember when Bush grabbed Chancellor Merkel? MSM never showed it. It seems the MSM is always finding ways to bring Obama down.

You just realized this now??? This was taking place during the elections. The US media is run by corportists who’s interest is entirely REPUBLICAN. Tax cuts , less regulation, monopolies, and the destruction of the middle class.

Just watch CNN and you will see what I mean.

  262. bluesunflower says:

Conservatives taking credit for the defeat of the Olympics, is like Cheney claiming credit for there being no terrorist attacks since 9/11. Whatever. It’s probably the bad history the IOC’s had here, rather than anything else.

And do I think there will be a war? Lemme just say this: I fear for our President, much more than any other – including Bush. And I think the potential for DOMESTIC terrorism is more a threat today than INTERNATIONAL terrorism.

And BTW, aaronk? That “little memo” *is* making headway – since the conservatives are all picking it up and brandishing it like a flag. It’s being taken seriously, as much so as the tenther and birther “movements”.

Lets face it, to do it right they must commit completely for their term. Truely there would be no time for family, not if they chose to do it right. They know this. So they do not run. So who does run for office. Especialy high political office? All the wrong sorts of people. The ones that seek power for the sake of power. A drive they cannot overcome. The ones that seek attention. These people are terribly screwed up. Some are certifiably insane. All desparately flawed. Each is taken advantage of and manipulated by power brokers on both sides. Each election we are presented with a choice and the choice is really no choice at all. Untill the right people are finally driven to run for office. Driven to commit to make real change (and that hasn’t happened here yet folks), things will remain the same. What will it take for real change to finally come. Sadly things haven’t gotten bad enough yet for the right people to truely feel COMPELLED to run for office. When they do lets hope we are smart enough to recognize them.

First of all, Obama met with the head general in charge of Afghanistan while he was in Copenhagen. He’s at the Pentagon having meetings today. Afghanistan is the war we launched in 2002, in response to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center that occurred on September 11th, 2001. The Taliban, the people who were in control of that country, were sheltering Al-Qaeda, the people who committed that attack. Have you forgotten? Or did you just not care?

Second of all, are you actually claiming that Obama is such a great leader that the country can’t survive if he’s outside of its borders for 18 hours? I’m impressed with the guy, but not that impressed!

You want the Constitution violated at every turn, with no justice for those who flout the law openly. The same as Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, etcetera etcetera.

The real problem with the Republican party is that they don’t have any way of isolating themselves from the more radical extremists from the right. The left has radical extremists too (ALF, EarthFirst!) but neither lefty journalists nor Democratic politicians repeat the things they say; there are clear “firewalls” between moderate and extreme on our side. But it all blends together over there, so that the craziest stuff spouted by a Perry today becomes the “interesting question” explored by Beck, and then finally the “possibility” discussed by GOP representatives.

    .

    aaronk says:

Where did he say that we should overthrow Obama.

Here’s where he said it. (Newsmax pulled their copy down)

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”

  287. Hokie89 says:

    Amanda:
You either did not read the economic impact report or have no comprehension of the impact they predict.

You use the term “could” in describing the economic impact and that is the most accurate thing you say in your article.

You fail to note that the jobs are actually job-years. Being much like the term man-hours which is often used in describing how much labor is needed for various projects, such is the case with this term. It does NOT mean “315,000″ new, full-time jobs as you seem to imply or think. However many are created, and again I would not trust that number at all, many will be temporary in nature – both full and part-time, some will be merely transitory jobs as workers are employed in the area for the time period of the Olympic construction or the games themselves, and many will be merely expansions in hours on existing jobs.

That fault then goes directly to economic impact be in in the form of jobs or $$ of economic activity. In my work in the field, I all to often saw numbers of purported economic impact that would claim “x” jobs created. But when you stepped backed and pondered just how “x” number of actually new jobs could be created when you looked at the actual working age population in an area; you realized that something did NOT add up.

In case of the Chicago Metro Statistical Area (MSA) you’ve got about 9.5 million total. According to CityData.com (2000) Chicago has about 2.9 million and you have about 1.75 million +/- in the 18 – 65 yr bracket (about 5.7 million working age for the MSA). Going with a guesstimated unemployment rate now of 9.5% that means you have about 541,000 unemployed now in the MSA (main area impacted by the Olympics) and about 166,000 in Chicago itself. They project 315,000 “job-years” for the metro area and 172,000 for Chicago itself. Common sense tells you that the Olympics are NOT going to result in full employment in the Chicago MSA, or anything close to it.

And you left out two big things. The forecast itself states the projections are for …… an 11 YEAR SPAN OF TIME!!! The build-up and construction for the games, the games themselves, then a drawdown after the games. So these are not permanent, or even long-term jobs.

How you missed that important bit of information is beyond me. So BOTH the projected jobs and economic activity created are taking place over a decade plus!!!

Then as to projected costs. They project an operating budget of $4.7 Billion. Laughable!! When both the Greece Olympics came in way over budget, and the London Olympics (2012) are already well over budget, do you honestly expect the highly unionized labor costs, not to mention the opportunities for graft and kick-backs, of the Chicago area to keep costs down??
If so, I want some of whatever you’re smoking.

God almighty you liberals are funny. You are down on your knees faster than Monica Lewinsky for your messiah in the form of Pres Obama. Like sheep you await some government entity to save you and make all life’s troubles go away.

So now your messiah has been brought down a notch. The world does not love him as much as you had hoped. And this is from someone who is especially critical of the Republican party. Maybe now you’ll start re-thinking your dependence on government to be your savior. On second thought…. hmmmm, no you won’t.

    Hilarious!!

Eleven years of employment is a bad thing, Hokie? I did not know that. Nor did I realize that getting work for a least a year was better than getting absolutely no work at all. Interesting take you have on the whole situation.

You know if it were a Republican President, like Bush, he would have been applauded by the wingnuts for meeting with the IOC to promote the U.S. as an Olympic site. The obsessive and predictable need of the wingnuts to put a negative spin on anything, and I mean anything, the President does is almost comical, if it wasn’t so sad.

Oh, I’m sure Chicago 2016 would have gone over budget as well, that sort of thing happens all the time with huge projects.

Could you repeat the part where you explain how the revenue won’t cover the expenses? I missed that. I was too busy pondering the fact that it always has, and by increasingly wider margins every quadrennial, which is why so many cities around the world try so hard to get their business.

Another, untouched point, is that the Pres of the USA (Rep or Dem) went overseas and put at stake a good deal of prestige in making the case for a US city to host the games. And when that city got shot down, IN THE FIRST ROUND, he lost a lot of that prestige. Basically it was the high school jock and ladies man who is hot stuff going up to the new girl in school who won’t touch anyone; and he gets shot down in front of everyone.

Not wanting the Olympics around because you don’t like the President politicizes them as much as boycotting them does. Trying to get their business in your country is something everybody should want. There shouldn’t be anything controversial about that. And getting more business in the country is something the President should take an interest in as well. If he thinks making a personal appearance would help, there’s nothing wrong with that.

    .

    Hokie89 says:

Your other arguments are sophomoric at best.

I notice that people often use this phrase when they’re trying to sound smarter than they are. This cliche is a sure sign that it’s starting to dawn on you that you’re completely outgunned here.

    .

    Hokie89 says:

You are then arguing that basically any job creation, and AGAIN TEMPORARY, justifies such a massive expense.

I wouldn’t if there was a net loss, but the Olympics directly pay for themselves in addition the many, many secondary economic benefits they provide.

With your emphasis on “temporary,” it sounds like you’re saying that unless somebody can prove that a job will last forever, those jobs shouldn’t exist. Most people I know have worked for less than – what was it, 11 years? – at most of the jobs they’ve had. The next time you’re looking for work try telling the interviewer that you won’t take the job unless it’s guaranteed for the rest of your life; see how that goes over. Or, ask the HR department what the average tenure/turnover is at the place that you work. I bet it’s less than 11 years. Ultimately, all jobs are temporary.

But more is still better than less. No matter how you try to push your argument, you’re never going to convince anyone otherwise.

    .

    Hokie89 says:

…the Pres of the USA (Rep or Dem) went overseas and put at stake a good deal of prestige in making the case…

The prestige of the Presidency is in no way lessened by this attempt. It’s still as “prestigious” as it ever was. Nothing was at risk, and nothing was lost.

You might as well complain about Oprah’s “loss of prestige.”

Man, I used to remember when conservatives were all about doing all we can for our country even if there is risk involved. Now you’re all paralyzed by the fear of failure. What happened to you?

  295. Hokie89 says:

    ElBruce:
“but the Olympics directly pay for themselves in addition the many, many secondary economic benefits they provide.” Oh really??? Would you care to share with all of us your wonderful analysis that shows the Olympics will pay for themselves?

And your remaining arguments on econ impact directly back up my assertion that for you, as a liberal, any amount dollar amount invested is good, as long as some jobs are produced, no matter how few. Perhaps you need to do some cost-benefit analysis projects. A little concept of getting the most bang for the buck is fairly important there.

While the prestige of the office of President is not diminished, that of Pres Obama is. You may wish to deny it as much as you wish in your fawning over him, but when any politician (doesn’t matter what party) makes a deliberate trip overseas, and is covered in national and international media, in a deliberate push for a particular event/policy, then is rebuked in the first round of voting ……. yeah, that does serve to diminish his personal political prestige.

You have foreign press now questioning his judgment and experience. Similarly, when the President of France critiques you for your foreign policy stance as being too weak, then that is also a slap in the face.

As for doing “all we can for our country even if there is risk involved”, ummm…… when you’ve rolled up and down the highways of Iraq facing IEDs as I have, then come talk to me about that topic of doing all you can. Unless you’ve served in a combat theater, you have NO room to talk there. Verstehen Sie??!!

  296. ElBruce says:

    Hokie89 says:

Oh really??? Would you care to share with all of us your wonderful analysis that shows the Olympics will pay for themselves?

I’ve provided many links above on the reimbursements to civic governments by the regional Olympic committees. Many cities around the world compete fiercely for the chance to host an Olympics because of the widely known economic benefit. Never before this week has anyone tried to make the argument with a straight face that the Olympics is economically bad for the host nation. Never. Not once. Now all of a sudden out of nowhere, all you wingnuts expect me to defend that common knowledge over and over again? I’m tired of trying to defend commonly known facts to you. Up is up. Down is down. Gravity makes things fall towards the center of the Earth. Two plus two is four. I’m not going to provide any more links for this kind of crap.

    .

    Hokie89 says:

And your remaining arguments on econ impact directly back up my assertion that for you, as a liberal, any amount dollar amount invested is good, as long as some jobs are produced, no matter how few.

Only if you ignore half of what I said. The reimbursed revenues exceed the costs. In addition, jobs are created. In addition, tourists enter the country and spend money. In addition, the infrastructure built can be used to make money later on.

Like Obama going to Copenhagen, there is no downside to hosting the Olympics whatsoever. There never has been.

    .

    Hokie89 says:

You have foreign press now questioning his judgment and experience.

Then you should be able to cite a link, yes?

All you’ve got from here on is pointing out that you don’t like Obama, which I already knew and don’t care about.

Nice try, liar. You and I both know you’ve never left the seat of your 101st Fighting Chairborne Division beanbag vehicle, and your XBox 360 isn’t a “combat theatre.” Ten out of ten times that a wingnut tries to make a personal claim in order to bolster a political argument, their personal claim is an outright lie. That’s why I don’t do it, and that’s why I always call you liars on it.

This person finds it fair game to score rhetorical points against an opponent…

Correct, “Joe Sixpack” responded to “Bawreck Obama” with a personal insult, one which could be characterized as politically incorrect and in poor taste, as well as potentially anti-poor since it refers to low-income housing.

What’s your opinion on the matter under actual discussion? Do you support the statements made in this thread by “Bawreck Obama” as well? If not, I await your criticisms of his posts also.

I’ll be over here holding my breath…

    ElBruce,

I’ve noticed you have not responded to my last critique.
    Any particular reason?

The KKKonservanazis HATE America as much as they HATE Obama.

ElBruce, you are getting the KKKonservanazi toadies’ panties all wadded up.

I see even a couple are “war heroes” now. Most KKKonservanazis are armchair patriotic chicken hawks, like GFY cheney, the evil.

So I’m an armchair general now? Care to take me up on my challenge that I issued elBruce? I’ll gladly email you a copy of the DD214.

I take it from your moniker that you’re a Vietnam Vet. If so, I applaud you for serving in a dirty war that earned you guys no respect till recently. My only question would be what branch, what unit, when and where did you serve, and what was your MOS?

Don’t go and assume that I’m lying just to please your own preconceptions.

As to the whole “KKK”, “nazi” thing. That constant talking point for the liberal left is certainly childish and fails to even attempt to counter any discussion points here.

Finally, do you have any fact-based counters to the points I laid out for elBruce? Any at all? “Bueller, Bueller?” – sound of crickets chirping

    ElBruce, TexasVietVet –
    I’m waiting for your responses.

Not that I cared that much since I’m not from Chicago, but if I were, I wouldn’t want the Olympics there. gögüs küçültme
