Nineteen more advertisers dump Glenn Beck.
Yesterday, ThinkProgress noted that British supermarket Waitrose had dropped all its advertising from Fox News in the UK after customer complaints about Glenn Beck. Today, Color of Change is announcing that 19 more advertisers — including Waitrose — have dumped Beck. That number includes multinational drinks company Diageo (the maker of Guinness and Johnnie Walker, among others), which has also pulled its advertising from all of Fox News in the UK. Here are some of the responses Color of Change received from Beck’s advertisers:
“We are appalled at what’s going on. Metropolitan Talent Management is 100% dedicated to not buy advertising on any part of Fox News.” — Metropolitan Talent Management
– “We’re no longer going to book any of his air time. I’m really glad to be informed of what you guys are doing.” — Overture Films
– “The Seoul government has no plan to extend, resume, or add its commercial on the program. In other word [sic], there will not be Seoul commercial in the Glenn Beck program any more.” — Seoul Metropolitan Government
– “You will not see Flexitol commercials on the Glenn Beck show. Period.” — Eulactol USA, makers of Flexitol
Eighty companies have now distanced themselves from Beck since Color of Change launched its boycott in in August. Help hold Beck accountable here.

And nowbringing down Democratic bureaucrats and getting civic organizations voted down in Congress.

Beck’s ratings? Give me a break. What do ratings have to do with quality. There have been a few very very popular shows that catch the attention of the easily amused or woefully ignorant. I put Beck close to on par with Jerry Springer. The main difference is that Beck show is targeted to a less intelligent demographic than Springer’s.

Beck still remains among the biggest draws to Fox, but if he can’t keep sponsors, Murdoch will not be able to tolerate it.

The joke is “Why won’t Glenn Beck respond to the rape and murder allegations?”

On the other hand, Beck is on tape claiming his Mother committed suicide while all evidence suggests accidental (Possibly alcohol induced) drowning. Beck claimed she left a suicide note, but if she did, he kept it from police investigating the drowning and no one else has ever claimed to have seen it. What he shares with his Mother is that she was a manic-depressive who turned to drugs and alcohol.

When you sign a contract to advertise on local cable, you are given a choice of channel combinations. They show you the viewer numbers, for different times, and you get extra spots for bigger package, ect. You can specify a particular show, or “news”, but I doubt many advertisers go to the trouble or expense.

Well, there’s no need to degenerate into your opponents then, flag@. I fight that urge every time Pat Pomery comes here to disrupt the issues.
I myself am willing to ask that the insults be kept to a minimum here. However, I also ask that you stand by that point-of-view when the insults and lack of respect are thrown about by the TP haters that access the place as well.
It’s only fair.

You had a great run and every opportunity to do the things you brag about but you failed. Now it’s our turn. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
There will be less hungry and sick people when we get done and there will be more and better paying jobs and our economy will be in better shape and our future will be much brighter.
Got any evidence that you have ever provided those things?

Check out Crooks and Liars. They have an article up, in which the Bush insiders admit they lied last year about how badly the financial situation was. In that light, what Obama has done is shore up the sagging mess bequeathed to him by Bush. I’d be more scared if McCain were in office, flip-flopping every important issue, and Palin right there, agreeing with every falsehood, like Cheney in a dress.
