REPORT: ‘We Will Overthrow The Government’ — Calls For Violence Repeatedly Stoked By Conservative Voices

Last week, the right-wing media outlet Newsmax — which receives 4 million unique monthly visitors and 130,000 print subscribers — published a column by conservative author John Perry arguing that a military coup could “resolve” the “radical left…Obama problem.” After being widely criticized, Newsmax retracted the column. However, the column appears to have encouraged an already angry group of anti-Obama radicals who have been plotting violence against the government.

While discussing the Newsmax column on his XM Sirius radio show last week, Michelangelo Signorile heard from a caller, “Jim from Oklahoma,” who explained that the idea of a coup is already being planned by a group of at least 200 people:

Pulling our government down, pulling our President out, and putting him back where he should be [...] [using] the right to bear arms, it’s in the Constitution. [...] We need a coup, there needs to be a coup and if the United States military won’t do it, we’ll do it.

Jim confirmed that he was “dead serious.” Although he was coy about specific details, Jim said that he was motivated by homophobia and an interest in bringing back slavery. A second caller confessed that her own mother has been scheming against the government because she has been captivated by racist thoughts and a belief that “Jesus is coming to overthrow Barack Obama.” She pleaded for people to recognize the extremist threat against Obama. Watch it:

While the intentions of these anonymous calls are difficult to confirm, they are indicative of a pattern of violent rhetoric being voiced by unrepentant conservative figures:

– One of the paying sponsors of the 9/12 anti-Obama rally in September was the National Association for Rural Landowners, a group that references the incidents at Waco and Ruby Ridge to call for attacks on “government entities” and liberals. In a YouTube video posted in July, the group makes the case for a secession, followed by a violent civil war.

– Calling the government “destructive of our rights,” the founder of the popular conservative website FreeRepublic called for “removing from office the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States and all U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives effective immediately” in July. Republican lawmakers, like Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC), regularly use the website as a portal for talking points.

Tea parties have been a constant venue for right-wing rage and calls for violence against the government. In April, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) told a crowd, “Thomas Jefferson once said that the tree of liberty will be fed with the blood of tyrants and patriots. You are the patriots.” ThinkProgress documented similar rhetoric from Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) and from rallies attended by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA). Americans for Prosperity, a group funded Koch Industries’ David Koch that works to plan tea parties, has sponsored speakers comparing health reform to the Holocaust.

Prominent Republican politicians have framed top Obama agenda items as deserving violent resistance. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has said, “I want people…armed and dangerous” against clean energy reform. Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) has floated the idea of secession in response to policies like the economic stimulus.

Leading right-wing media outlets have called for “revolution.” Glenn Beck has hosted segments predicting “violent tax revolts,” Michael Savage often says, “We’re going to have a revolution in this country,” radio show host Jim Quinn has called for “riots” because “our country was built on revolution, and it’s about time we took it back.”

There have already been incidents of violence motivated by right-wing hate-speech. Richard Poplawski, who killed three police officers in April, posted videos of Glenn Beck on neo-Nazi websites and had said he was scared of the government. The Southern Policy Law Center has documented a steady rise in militia activity, and today reported on a new ominous YouTube video warning President Obama: “If you stay…‘We, The People’ will systematically dismantle you, destroy you and reclaim what is rightfully ours.”

Update Media Matters notes that the website World Net Daily is now pushing for Obama’s impeachment.

Could you imagine the uproar if this was going on in the Bush years?! You couldn’t even wear a anti-Bush tee-shirt without the Feds busting your head or tossing your ass out in the street or jail! I thought this was ILLEGAL. I guess it is if you are Democat or Independant. But these guys think they are above the law.

Clearly, every single member of the Republican party is a liberal plant sent to make Republicans look bad.

  3. texasrick says:

Right! I’m sure ALL OF US would feel a whole lot better if the country was being run by a bunch of dim witted morons like this, who feel they need a BIG GUN to overcome an obvious physical shortcoming.

Please, please explain to me what President Obama done that merits a coup? What? What? Not a thing. (Oh, I forgot, he is biracial!) These people scare me. I hope the Secret Service are doing their jobs.

Meanwhile, Obama’s skin color is probably pretty close to what Jesus’s skin color was. These loonies are so stupid.

    What Jesus probably looked like

  7. The Dogfather says:

These numbnuts have been with us for many, many years. We’re right to remain vigilant, and the Secret Service no doubt is paying close attention, but they’re usually all hat and no cowboy.

Besides, do they really think that they’d be attacking an unarmed government, and that the US military and various police organizations would just step aside and let an armed mob of 200 half-wits take over the country, most of whom would probably pee their pants and drop their weapons and run at the first shot over their heads? That’s beyond laughable — that’s Monty Python-style loony…

So, who will you get to hold us while you try to shoot us from the comfort of your Barcalounger?

  12. Virtual Pebble says:

Yes, the crazies are out there, and it’s a fairly serious law enforcement problem, made worse by some people blowing it off as hot air.

I’d expect that some of it is cathartic; some people vent and then go off and go about their everyday business, without actually going over the edge. I think it’s safe to assume though, that some people in venting manage to stoke someone else’s rage which gets fed back to them and we’ll see a few overt acts in the next few months.

That may convince some people who take credit for leading the right to back off the craziness, but I wouldn’t count on it. They think they own the tiger they’re riding and will not understand what the problem is until they try to dismount. There may be one or two who have no intention of a dismount; they see themself as a future caudillo.

  13. majii says:

This is very disturbing behavior coming from very disturbed individuals. I hope Sec. Neapolitano is getting ready to deliver a major smackdown on these extremists. Locate them, try them, convict them if they are found guilty of planning a coup, and lock them up for life.
This puts a lie to the lie when some republicans say that the opposition to President Obama has few roots in racism.
If I believe this, hand me a firecracker and expect me to stand there and hold it like a fool until it explodes. Treasonous, seditious b@$t@rds.

the most disturbing thing to me is the call to violence, and the silence from the right wing leadership immediately denouncing these nutjobs….

Either you repudiate their views utterly, or you give them affirmation through your silence. The right wing can’t have it both ways.

  17. evangenital says:

The white-wingers had better start reining it in, and fast.

Their behavior is looking more and more treasonous.

There are laws against incitement of rebellion in this nation.

So many of us were furious during the Bush/Cheney regime, but we did not advocate violent overthrow.

I am still disappointed that the Dems did not initiate impeachment proceedings against the war criminals Bush and Cheney, but I still paid my taxes and voted.

You know, I keep hearing about taking our country back and not wanting government control health care blah blah blah.

What we need to really do is take our country back from big insurance, big oil, Wall Street/and financial groups and YES even the freaking NRA…yes I have a gun and I don’t feel threatened about the Government taking it away.

The NRA tells Senator Cornyn to jump and he says HOW HIGH? Insurance tells Baucus to water down health care and he does. This is the real problem!

  23. barfly says:

Either you repudiate their views utterly, or you give them affirmation through your silence. The right wing can’t have it both ways.

  25. paleolib says:

I for one would be delighted if 200 goofballs from Oklahoma tried to stage a coup instead of talking about it on web sites and comical videos. Assuming they could find Washington at all (my bet would be on most of them getting to East St. Louis, reacting in horror at encountering actual black people and heading back to their safe little dirt patch) we would see a quick culling of the nitwit herd, the decisive discrediting of the Beck/Limprod/Insanity/Savage(Weiner) hatemongering and perhaps a slight downturn in the rhetoric from what is becoming the Party of Treason. Alas, cowardly Eric Rudolph style assaults on random innocents are more likely and the treasonous Republic shills on Fox and in the House and Tejas statehouse will maintain some degree of plausible deniability.

  26. digdiggy says:

Nah, no racism in the republican party. Us lefties are just reading too much into it.

  28. EnnuiDivine says:

Free speech is a right we hold sacrosanct.

Dangerous psychotics like Jim From Oklahoma piss me off all the more so because his rhetoric DEMANDS restriction of free speech. This man needs to be locked up for actively threatening violent revolution.

It’s one thing for tax-evading “freedmen” to camp out in the wilderness and claim the government is illegimate. For them to proclaim a militia overthrow of the government and putting the President (the half-black President) “where he should be” is a crime. Pure and simple.

  29. Mark701 says:

Poster #4- He has done NOTHING that even merits a rebuke, never mind a coup. The problem the nut-jobs on the right have with Obama is threefold: his skin is black, he is liberal, and he’s in a position of authority. To them this state of affairs is unacceptable. So much for the party of God, family values, apple pie and patriotism. I would add that if these crazies attempted to act on their insanity that crackpot pie-holes like Hannity and Beck should arrested and tried for treason.

  30. evangenital says:

The clowns from Oklahoma are probably a bunch of overweight drunks with beer bellies, he-boobies and heart problems, all blustering with bravado about their manly sexual prowess, their cock size, and their irresistibility to women.

I wonder how many of them have ever served in the military, all the while running around bragging about soldiering in “‘Nam” or “Eye-rack” or the like.

This may be authentic, or it may be just more white-wing masturbatory nonsense.

  31. nellre says:

Hysteria, racism, an excuse to be radical… for some

Fear for others: fear that Obama will fix tons of stuff and their lies will be exposed.

  32. Tim says:

That’s beyond laughable — that’s Monty Python-style loony… October 8th, 2009 at 11:47 am

That’s generally true, but go tell that to the survivors of the OK City bombing. All it takes is for one or two people out of that pack to construct a McVeigh-class truck bomb and a whole bunch of people can have their day ruined.

Yes, to some extent it is laughable, but there’s a very serious core to it. Could they force a change in government? Probably not, but they might force government to change in a way that none of us, right or left, would like; they could produce an event that pushes us closer to a police state.

    You think right…

    US Code, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 41, 871
Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits for conveyance in the mail or for a delivery from any post office or by any letter carrier any letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

…which is why, whether he’s a dimwitted inbred redneck making things up or not, I have since forwaded to the Secret Service the link of “Jim from Oklahoma” making threats of violence against the President… on the off chance Signorile hasn’t already done the responsible thing.

  35. EnnuiDivine says:

  37. A Patriot Acting says:

This contingient of lunatics and their enablers should be made aware that America does not belong to them. President Obama and Democratic Senators and Representatives won elections in a legal Democratic process and these elections do have consequences. The GOP had their way with America and proved to it’s citizens that every one of their beloved politi-social theories from trickle down economics, American exceptionalism, corporate taxbreaks, deregulation, the Bush Doctrine, torture and the neocon’s wet dream of global domination are all completely failed policies. They willfully ignored the crumbling infa-structure of America, the growing poverty of it’s citizens, our unsustainable healthcare system, our global reputation, our dwindling economy, our environment and the growing will of Americans who care about these things and will excercise their needs and desires through their votes. All for the extreme profit of a small handful of corporate and industry titans. I’ll say it again…ALL FOR THE EXTREME PROFIT OF A SMALL HANDFUL OF CORPORATE AND INDUSTRY TITANS. The Republic Party has proven their collective ignorance of the will of the people and their sheer incompetence at governing. They brought us to the brink of utter collapse and are now whining like children because they have lost all the power that they once enjoyed due directly to their own incompetence and unmitigated greed. This Country belongs to all of us and it is in our Nation’s best interest to make it a better place for ALL rather than a handful of rich people. Incitement to violence is the last vestige of a desperate political party who craves power above all else and is willing to wear their traitorous views on their sleeves in order to goad a tiny minority of ignorant fools into doing their bidding.

    _____________________________________________________________

Um…yeah. And I see that the stellar minds putting forth this idea equate “impeachment” with “recall”.

I have always been amused by people who toss the word “impeach” around while obviously having no clue what it means, but claiming it means the same thing as “recall” is a new level of ignorance.

They aren’t the same thing, as anybody who paid attention in school knows. A recall is the removal of an officeholder by the voters, with no reason required. While most states, counties, and municipalities have recall procedures in place for the removal of the governor or other officeholders, there is no mechanism for the recall of a sitting president.

Furthermore, “impeach” doesn’t even mean removal from office. The closest synonym to it might be the word “indict”, as it basically means to accuse of a crime and bring the impeached officeholder to trial. Only after the impeached person has been tried and convicted is he removed from office.

To be impeached in this country, one must be charged with some kind of crime, such as abusing the power of one’s office (Nixon, Blagojevich), or lying about one’s sex life (Clinton).

What crimes has President Obama committed? It appears most of his detractors hate him because A) he’s biracial, B) he’s a Democrat (don’t laugh — that’s essentially why Bill Clinton was impeached), or C) he cares more about American people than about American lobbyists. None of which are crimes.

Fortunately, these lunatics are a small but annoying minority. Unfortunately, it only took one person to kill President Kennedy, one person to kill Martin Luther King, one person to shoot President Reagan. And it’s rhetoric like this that could motivate some deranged soul into committing an unthinkable tragedy.

Let’s hope the Secret Service is vigilant.

man, this article scares me. I really hope nothing like this is actually attempted. I know you guys think I’m a racist violent hate monger because I’m a conservative, but I’m not. The greatest thing about this country, IMO, is the peaceful transition of power that happens every 4 or 8 years. If you don’t like what is going on, you have a chance to change it.

That is obviously being proven right now with the democrats taking control because too many citizens didn’t like what happened under Bush. This is somewhat frightening to me, because I have also heard many people predict that a civil or revolutionary war is coming. I have a 2 year old daughter to worry about, so this is very concerning.

    Newsletter controversy
Further information: Ron Paul newsletter controversy

At the end of 2007, both the New York Sun and the New York Times Magazine reprinted passages from early 1990s publications of Paul’s newsletters, attacking them for content deemed racist.[6] These were the same newsletters that had been used against Paul in his 1996 congressional campaign.

Shortly afterwards, The New Republic released many previously unpublicized quotations attributed to Paul in James Kirchick’s “Angry White Man” article.[120] Kirchick accused Paul of having made racist, sexist, and derogatory comments geared towards African Americans, women, and the LGBT community.[121] Kirchick also accused Paul of possessing “an obsession with conspiracies, sympathy for the right-wing militia movement, and deeply held bigotry.”[121]

Responding to the charges in a CNN interview, Paul denied any involvement in authoring the passages. In a press release, Paul’s campaign claimed that the quotations had come from an unnamed ghostwriter without Paul’s consent. Paul again denounced and disavowed the “small-minded thoughts,” citing his 1999 House speech praising Rosa Parks for her courage; he said the charges simply “rehashed” the decade-old Morris attack.[122] CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer expressed his disbelief during the interview that Paul would have made such statements.[123] Later, Nelson Linder, president of the Austin chapter of the NAACP, also defended Paul.[124] Reason republished Paul’s 1996 defense of the newsletters,[125] but later reported evidence from “a half-dozen longtime libertarian activists” that Lew Rockwell had been the chief ghostwriter.[43] Although Rockwell denies this charge, and “has characterized discussion of the newsletters as ‘hysterical smears aimed at political enemies.’”[126]

    elated activity

Similar U.S. legislation includes Ron Paul’s proposal to end U.S. contributions to the United Nations and affiliated agencies, which had Republican support but failed as an appropriations amendment by a vote of 74-350;[180] and Roscoe Bartlett’s proposal to cut a $100 million payment to the UN, based on General Accounting Office claims that the U.S. has overpaid by $3.5 billion (the UN claimed that it was owed $1.3 billion).[181]

The 2002 Republican Party of Texas platform explicitly urged passage of the ASRA; withdrawal from the UN had been on the platform at least since 1998.[182]

Both houses of the Arizona legislature introduced legislation petitioning Congress to pass the ASRA (HCM 2009 in 2004, SCM 1002 in 2006);[183][184] in 2007 similar legislation passed the Arizona Senate (SCM 1002 in 2007), but with the focus changed from the ASRA to Virgil Goode’s Congressional resolution not to engage in a NAFTA Superhighway or a North American Union (H.Con.Res. 487, now H.Con.Res. 40).[185][186]
    [edit] Advocacy

The John Birch Society recognizes the ASRA as a reflection of its efforts since 1962 toward U.S. withdrawal.[167] Their publication New American sees Nathan Tabor’s anti-UN book, The Beast on the East River, as a building block toward ASRA passage,[187] which it advocates because “the U.S. military is currently being used as the enforcement arm of the United Nations.”[188]

In 2000, Tom DeWeese’s American Policy Center said it delivered to Congress more than 300,000 signatures from petitions in support of the Act.[189]

An organization calling itself the Liberty Committee also organized a nationwide petition drive asking Majority Leader Tom DeLay to schedule the bill for a vote.[190]

The same kind of threats, that if they were made by anyone else, these conservative self designated “patriots” and right-wing talking heads would demand be investigated.

So, I believe the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, TSA, Secret Service, and every other appropriate law enforcement agency, should begin their investigations, identify and charge the culprits, and nip this threat of chaos and calamity to our way of life right in the bud and right now.

    Go to work, boys.

  104. NinerFan says:

Republic of Stupidity: “You’re referring to the Business Plot?”

Yes, but the Wiki entry for this is very incomplete. It leaves out some embarrassing facts that the British historians uncovered. For example, the representative of large bankers and industrialists who actually brought the proposal to General Smedley Butler was a guy named Prescott Bush. And the reason nobody found out about it at the time was that some of the co-conspirators were the largest buyers of advertising in the New York Times which ridiculed the committee looking into it.

The Wiki people also absent-mindedly forgot to mention that the industrialists and bankers who wanted to remove FDR from office by force admired the way the Nazis were running things in Germany.

Yeah, I wouldn’t say that I am at the panic stage yet, but I sometimes think that our nation is very arrogant when it comes to the possibility of severe uprising and civil unrest. The country is not going to lapse into a hot civil war. Two or three hundred a-holes with munitions stores doesn’t make a revolution – at best, that’s a regional armed insurrection and I doubt there is any area of the country which would actually support such a thing. Talk is cheap.

If the nation’s most wealthy bankers and industrialists with the help of thousands of disgruntled WWI veterans couldn’t pull it off, I don’t think a few teabaggers are going to get very far. In my opinion, if you are a republican, you should be telling your elected representatives to speak out against this kind of rhetoric.

Well, I don’t think it would do much good to “take matters into your own hands” because the military posesses weapons far greater than we could ever get a hold of. A military coup could easily happen, but the result would be extreme civil unrest, and unfortunately in this case, it may end up as a racially divided civil war. The RNC should have issued Republican ID cards. Then, you could show it to the radical terrorists and they wouldn’t hurt you. In fact, they would probably ask you to join their insurgency.

The whole point is to counter such ‘radicals’ influence to neutralize such a group(s) before they can gain strength, rather than continue to brush it off.

Your definition of ‘radical’ may not be the same as mine.

Re: peaceful neutralization, that is a process which I think may take longer than one election cycle and involves more than tactics. It will require a paradigm shift.

I think our current situation is not as bad as the times which you named, YET. The value of the dollar, the national debt, and unemployment concerns me. Financial unrest can often lead to civil unrest in my opinion. I’m not really worried about foreign terrorists or other such enemies….but I am worried about a potential banking collapse. If people can’t get to their money, we will have a problem.

You know, one of the concerns voiced in the last 8 years (and the problems with Florida elections) is that a democracy needs assurance of a smooth transition from those that lost to those that won.

Its starting to look like this was a highly relevant question.

No, Max. The major European power here then was Spain which had founded St. Augustine in 1565. Jamestown, the 1st British colony was not founded until 1607, hardly enough time to establish rule.

Earlier attempts to colonize Florida were stymied by hostile Indians who, it is believed, had been subjected to slaving raids by Spaniards with plantations on different Caribbean islands.

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

    @ 91. ConservativeChristian says: … people still believe the false left-right paradigm? … October 8th, 2009 at 1:05 pm

The left-right paradigm isn’t false, CC; it started as a convention, a convenience of terminology and parliamentary organization, and it’s still a useful discriminant between political philosophies. After the various revolutions of the late 18th century and the 19th century in Europe, it became the practice in the parliaments of most constitutional monarchies to seat the democratic and liberal members to the left of the presiding officer and the conservatives, reactionaries, and (ahem) monarchists to the right. That arrangement isn’t used universally any more (if it ever was), but it is a convenience in demarcating political groups.

“@ 112. Max Anax junius -1 says:. FYI. 400 years ago, what little there was of it, America was under British Rule, NO? The Native population, American Indian, was largely untouched and the American Indian Genocide had not happened yet.”

October 8th, 2009 at 3:28 pm

And if you really want to examine it further, after Cortez’ conquest of Mexico, 1519-1521, there was a serious outbreak of European illnesses, primarily smallpox, among the indigenous peoples of Mexico who were being reduced to near slavery or peasentry by the Spanish. The estimates of the number of deaths from European diseases for Mexico’s indigenous people range as high as 90%.

In 1540, an expedition out of Mexico into what is now the US SW was mounted under Coronado. He entered the territory that is now the state of New Mexico west of present day El Paso, marched north to the area of Acoma and Zuni Puebloes, and the marched the expeditionary force east to the Rio Grande to near present day Bernalillo NM (north of Albuquerque). He wintered over at the Bernalillo site, which is now NM’s Coronado State Monument, which was one of many (middle) Rio Grande pueblos. The next spring, the expedition went a little further north and then well to the east. Before turning back to the Rio Grande and returning to Mexico, elements of the expedition reached what is now Kansas.

Then the Spaniards colonized New Mexico in 1598, establishing the colony initially just north of present day Espanola NM, and moving the headquarters and capital to what is now Santa Fe NM about 10 years later. Santa Fe is celebrating the 400th anniversary of it’s founding this year, in fact.

The Spanish who established St. Augustine defeated and drove off a French expedition which attempted to establish a fort at Jacksonville FL a year before the St. Augustine was ‘founded’. Add to that the French efforts starting in about 1534 to colonize what is now Canada, and similar efforts by the Netherlands via the Dutch East India Company in the same period, as well as the Portugese, and it becomes clear that there were a lot more Europeans, and certainly more nations than England, pursuing the goal of colonization in “the New World” in the 1500s, well before the first successful English colony.

  169. Virtual Pebble says:

@ 169. An additional note: The diseases that were responsible for killing a lot of Mexico’s indigenous peoples didn’t just stop in Mexico. The Aztecs and others were trading with peoples well into New Mexico and Colorado, California, Arizona and Texas, and the diseases spread to those areas before the Spaniards, let alone the Anglos, arrived.

Something similar happened in the Canadian Maritime/St. Laurence region, spreading westward, and in the New England/New Amsterdam region.

The estimates for how many people died of diseases like smallpox, for which the American indigenous population had no immunity, has a pretty broad range. Some tribes just disappeared and the Europeans, having had no contact with them, never even knew about it. The active genocide of various European-Americans v Native Americans came a little later.

SO, let me get this stright. Since I love my country and feel as though what the BO administration is doing (expanding government) from what GB started, I am a “right wing nutjob”?
Becuase I have to tell you, MOST of the LEFTY comments that I see are no better than MOST of the RW comments that I see!
The blogs and the right/left paradigm are going to drive a civil war. There are too many pissed off, out of work and disgruntled people are there. There are also too many people know that Bush and Obama are just TOOLS for the global banking cartel and if YOU (Right or Left) do not know that by now, you need to turn the TV off and read some real journalism. The propaganda that is spewed on most sites and the MSM has done it’s job! It has pit Americans against one another. Just like the British did in the 1700’s and that’s why, three percent of the population stood up to it and if needed, will do so again. Then the lefty population will fall in the same order as they did back then. You do NOT have the balls to stand up for what is “right” you always will hide behind, what is LEFT!!!

  173. Pesky says:

I recently saw the video of this threatening person and it became evident it was bogus. When it got pointed out, the video was pulled by the left site that ran it, even though it was a right sites video.

I think this is the NEOCONS from newsmax trying to get the left and right hating each other like they have done since rove and atwater ran the campaign against Muskie that used the first truly dirty tricks.

If I didn’t know better, I would say this is a Rove trick to precipitate civil war and we are fools to allow them to pull this off. With only 300 neocons ripping us off, they need the 300 million of us divided and fighting each other.

That is the ONLY WAY they are safe and in control. Do not let them get away with this. Many of us know good people on the right that we disagree with but this kind of idiot is not reflective of the entire right political spectrum. Its like saying all of us on the left are all commies, which is rediculous on its face.

Don’t fall into the Goebbels Hitler trap….

“Never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.” Adolph Hitler

  174. Mr. Burns says:

This isn’t talk of staging a revolution in a third world dictatorship, this is talk of staging a redneck coup d’état of a president who was elected by a large majority.

So… the dixie chicks aren’t allowed to say they’re ashamed Bush is from Texas, but these people are perfectly justified in saying they’re about to overthrow the US government itself.

It makes perfect sense. I can see it all so clearly now!

We liberals just plain aren’t allowed to voice our opinions… and the conservatives are!

    Simple as that. Phew.
