Federal authorities investigating anti-Obama Nazi message on Massachusetts golf course.
The U.S. Secret Service and the FBI are investigating an incident at a Lakeville, Massachusetts golf course, in which vandals etched “I” above a swastika and “Obama” on the green. The Boston Herald reports that vandals used the heels of their shoes or cleats to scrape the message into the grass:
“We investigate these cases thoroughly,” said Steven Ricciardi, special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Boston office. Authorities say the incident “likely constitutes a hate crime, whether the culprits meant it as a prank or not.”

I drive from WV to GA every week. A high percentsge of the people I interact with are very riled up. They are getting more anxious and scared. It’s not a joke. All they get is Fox Radio and Fox TV here. And, they’re really loyal to it.
At the oil change shop, the sign says don’t ask about changing the channel. Of course, it on Fox News.
Last Monday, a store clerk was discussing how pissed off she was that she was going to have to work through the Glenn Beck show. The other clerk reminded her it was on again later that night. The first clerk was still disappointed she was missing it.
After I got my change, I told her you couldn’t pay me to watch Glenn Beck. She screamed out Liberal as I quickly exited the store. I was definitely in the minority.
I’m just glad I didn’t put an Obama sticker on my car. Sad but true.

You’re absolutely dead-on-the-mark correct, belaccifer. It’s not the Nazi variant of the hakenkreuz or swastika. The entire figure would be rotated 45 degrees for the Nazi symbol. It also has the wrong rotational direction; each outer arm is 180 degrees away from where it should be for the Nazi version.

I realize you’re dealing with a troll, and have to simplify things, but don’t oversimplify. The troll ought to understand that at the time of the Reichstag fire, the Nazis (or people who became Nazis) had been engaged in street-fighting with the Communists and some of the harder line Socialists since 1919 or 1920. Hitler and his security services blamed A communist, Marinus van der Lubbe, who was found in the building, and by extension, claimed the fire was a Communist plot. This allowed Hitler the political running room he needed to have an enabling act passed which allowed him to imprison known members of the Communist Party. Van der Lubbe claimed that he acted alone. After being found guilty, he was beheaded.

Additionally, there is an FBI branch office in town. There is a relatively large adolescent population which may have played a part in this, especially in light of it’s graffiti like nature.
