Appearing on separate Sunday political talk shows, two key Obama advisers — David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel — were asked about the White House’s recent verbal attacks against Fox News. Both advisers made the point that Fox is not a legitimate news outlet, but rather a network with a biased perspective. And the advisers emphasized that traditional news media should not let themselves be swayed by Fox’s opinion coverage:
AXELROD: The bigger thing is other news organizations like yours [ABC News] ought not to treat them that way, and we’re not going to treat them that way.
EMANUEL: And more importantly, is not have the CNNs and the others in the world basically be led and following Fox, as if what they’re trying to do is a legitimate news organization.
Watch a compilation:
From above:
In other words. Don’t be Foxsuckers.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:15 amWell guessing can not get three bigger positions in the administration on fox non news.
this is sorely needed and has been for a long time.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:16 amThis is all well and good, but it has no teeth. It is time to start pressing charges of sedition against Fox News propagandists and the FCC needs to yank Fox News’ broadcasting license.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:20 amNo Democrat should be treating FOX “News” as though it’s a legitimate news organization. They’re the propaganda arm of the republican party and they should be treated as such.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:25 amNow we need to have some legislation that stops a broadcaster from calling itself “news” while telling outright lies and selling propaganda.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:28 amI disagree Nat. Fox News is the propaganda arm of an organized crime syndicate, which also has a political arm, knows as the Republican Party.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:29 amSorry to be OT, but this IS about Fox host, Ben Gleck, from a clever kid:
October 18th, 2009 at 11:30 amhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiCqqNxNiuI
Glad to see the White House recognizes the danger of Fox News and calls upon legitimate news organizations to not give them validity.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:32 amThis is long overdue — Fox has a stranglehold on the news, and it is going to be very hard to marginalize them, no matter how much they deserve to be marginalized.
This is great. Hannity, Beck, O’Reilly, all those Fox “experts”, etc. should be called on their blatant lies & smears each time they spew them. The other media outlets should be leading this, pointing out the lies, racism, &/or sexism, etc. that is on Fox every day. Fox is full of venom & hatred, & should never be called “news”. What other outlet screams at guests & cuts off their microphones?
October 18th, 2009 at 11:33 amHere’s how we ought to be treating things; a “news” organization should not adopt only one side of the argument, as Fox News constantly does. It should provide information on the world from the perspective of a third party. I find the big three networks and CNN handle that pretty well, while Fox constantly has to defend their one-sided views.
Yes, the opposition will likely point the finger at MSNBC, much like Bush 41 did the other day, and I encourage them to stay impartial as well. I don’t like how they sometimes bring in the other side and adopt the counter-argument right away, but I consider them to be more honest than Fox News. More importantly, I don’t consider MSNBC to be a “news” channel in the first place.
Besides, NBC already has an impartial network. It’s called “NBC”.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:34 amMarie@7
Thanks for sharing that. That kid has more talent then Beck does.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:39 amNo matter what, though, you have to be amused by the delicious irony on “FoxSnooze Sunday” this morning.
Little Chrissy Wallace pisses and moans about how unfairly Fox is being attacked by the White House. And there’s KKKarl RoverBoy taking his side and calling the White House “undignified”. RoverBoy? The crook who politicized the DOJ and GAO in pursuit of a permanent republican majority? The crook known as “The Architect” and “Bush’s Brain” who served in the most “undigified” administration in history? That crook is calling the Obama administration “undignified”?
FoxSnooze isn’t news. Well, duh! It isn’t even good “opinion journalism”. It’s a total parody of itself and now it’s playing the “victim card” just like Limpballs is.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:42 amThere is little downside on the pushback against Fox, they can whine, but they can’t make their criticism any worse than it already is. If a Democrat goes on Fox, they should begin each of their interviews with “If you were really fair and balanced….” or “if Fox was a News organization…”.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:42 amOT: From my inbox:
Now, back to your regularly scheduled bashing of Faux Gnus…
October 18th, 2009 at 11:48 amAxlerod and Emmanuel were well prepared for this question and gave CNN and ABC news a smackdown. Excellent job.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:51 amBriseadh na Faire just signed it.
Right on Rahm and David, it’s about time!
October 18th, 2009 at 11:52 amfaux is in trouble and they know it. People do listen to Obama and they know it.
If he is successful in defining them in his terms then faux loses, big time, and they know it.
They always make it personal and then cry when somone hits back.
Typical of any troll we have seen here.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:53 amGreat, but more is needed to make SURE they get the point..I’m with levi the oracle on this one: “It is time to start pressing charges of sedition against Fox News propagandists and the FCC needs to yank Fox News’ broadcasting license.”
The time for more talk is done.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:55 amlets all ignore olby this morning, just like we do faux..
October 18th, 2009 at 11:56 amThis comment has been voted down. Click to read.
Levi,
I like the sedition angle but ClusterFox does not have or need an FCC broadcasting license, they are on cable. Their local affiliates could have their FCC broadcasting licenses ripped away if the people complain in those markets.
I think they should be charged by the FEC as an illegal unregistered 527 group.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:56 amI can see Olby is busy voting us down.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:57 amOlby Sucks says:
——————————————————————————–
fox is in trouble
No, Fox is in big trouble
October 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pmI am so glad the WH is taking on Fox! I am so glad they are being openly called out. Fox is not a news channel. I like this WH strategy. And it is getting under Fox’s skin. They are finally being openly exposed for what they are, which is NOT a news station.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:01 pmHow about a lying c0cksucker tax for news orgs that can’t get it right like ClusterFox?
October 18th, 2009 at 12:02 pmolby’s problem is the same as faux’s:
On one hand you have an intelligent man stating obvious facts and on the other hand you have a screech machine that has been running without oil for 8 years and doesn’t know the truth.
Who will intelligent people listen to?
Rove’s run is over.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:03 pmOlby is too brain dead to read about the fading Murdoch empire
October 18th, 2009 at 12:04 pmFox is not #1. At their absolute highest ratings they still get less than 1% of america watching. I can’t imagine what tourists think when they come to america and see that channel, they must laugh so hard.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:06 pmWhat I’ve been doing for years is confronting people who repeat wingnut lies with, “You’re a Fox News viewer, aren’t you?” And then point out that only idiots believe the propaganda they spew.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:06 pmolby is the bagdad bob of the gop.
Hear him saying the gop is winning……..funny stuff really.
I love to come here and watch them make fools of themselves.
You would think they would have more dignity but apparently there is no low point they won’t reach for to keep from sinking.
You can’t really blame them. Pity maybe if they weren’t so destructive.
It’s kinda like killing a snake. You don’t really want to kill anything but you just can’t live with a viper so it has to go.
get your anti-venom soon olby.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:08 pmI’m happy to see the White House delivering on their promise of calling out the craziness. And I’m doubly glad they are doing it in a calm, reasonable, straightforward manner.
The more they and the Dems do this, the louder Faux and its sad little band of screech monkeys will howl and the more silly they will look.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:08 pmRupert spent a fortune for MySpace and kids across America stopped using it. He bought the Wall Street Journal and now who would believe anything they say? He’s on a roll.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:10 pmOlby and Fox News are on the ice-berg floating away to die, bye bat*hit crazies.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:11 pmSPAMMERS SHOULD BE FLAGGED.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:12 pmRepublicans have developed a new version of the Midas Touch.
Everything they touch turns to shyt.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:12 pmShayne, I find that many of the people who repeat those things to me know I am a democrat and want to know how I feel about it.
I ask them if they believe the lies that beck tells such as the birther, racist, etc. and of course while looking you in the eye they can’t go along with that.
Then I ask where else this lie is being pushed and of course they say only on faux.
They are hurting themselves and I encourage them to continue.
In fact, I think they should back up their threats or be called cowards.
Stop threatening America with an insurrection that you are to chicken to actually act on. What a bunch of cowards.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:12 pmSimilar to my comments in #12 above, here is an excellent take on this from Washington Monthly’s Steve Bennen –> http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2009_10/020494.php
October 18th, 2009 at 12:12 pmOlby how come most morons get their news from cable TV? who cares what the TV says. intelligent people get their news from the source. Want to know what a bill says, don’t watch TV, read the bill. Spin is not your friend.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:13 pmJohn Gibson no end of pleasure
Poor repug, your head should explode using John Gibson and pleasure in the same sentence.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:14 pmOlby Sucks Little Boys,
Take the naked little boy off your lap and pull up your pants.
Unless of course you are voting RePugniScum.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmApparently our troll loves him some keith. I’m with Shayne, ignore olby and flag him for spamming.
Let him take his olberman fetish somewhere else.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmIn case anyone believed that olby suddenly learned how to construct entire sentences, rest assured that it’s plagiarized (shocker!) and was originally written by Johnny Dollar in 2007.
Reggie can file this one away as further evidence on troll sock puppetry.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmI stand proudly with Fox and all that they’ve done on behalf conservatism and the Republican party. I wear a thong.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:15 pmI think it’s great that Fox News is doing as well as they are. The better they do, the worse things are for Republicans.
The ascendancy of a charismatic black Democrat has driven frightened, paranoid, enraged, nativist zealots into the ideological embrace of an outlet that habitually reconfirms everything they already believe.
Unfortunately for Republicans and fortunately for Roger Ailes, a feedback loop has been created: As disaffected conservatives turn increasingly to Fox News, Fox News caters its programming to keep them coming back, turning, for instance, the Tea Parties into a daylong televised festival of rage. But given Fox’s well-earned brand identification with the Republican Party, and vice versa, that programming serves to promote a view of Republicans as angry white people who hate Puerto Rican judges. Which turns off independent voters, which further isolates the diehard rejectionist wing of the party, which increases the importance of Fox News in their lives as a reassuring voice telling them to be strong in the face of the barbarian hordes—or, as Glenn Beck puts it, “We surround them.”
The more viewers Fox attracts, the more voters the GOP repels. And the more voters the GOP repels, the more viewers Fox attracts.
http://gawker.com/5332558/whats-bad-for-the-gop-is-good-for-fox-news
October 18th, 2009 at 12:16 pmWHy does not MSNBC or some other news entity adopt the moniker
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pm“Balanced, Fair and REAL”
Fox does not own the word “Balanced” and “Fair” They own “Fair and Balanced” said in that sentence, no more, no less. Co-opt their make beleive brand.
Trolls who are repeatedly OFF TOPIC should be FLAGGED.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmMichelle, that was a riot.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmFox always claims to have such a high number of viewers. There are so many other stations to watch so using just the numbers from Fox is deceptive because viewership is spread out among other stations. Not everyone is consumed with “news and views”. There are other shows available on cable and satellite that many people enjoy watching. And then there are many people that just don’t watch TV.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmTrue. You are too stupid to get the facts straight.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmThere are few things more sad than unrequited love. Sniff, sniff. Oh, bad move. Can someone open a window?
October 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pmUGH! Too much information!!!!!! ;)
October 18th, 2009 at 12:20 pmYes!
It’s way past due, that somebody, ANYbody get on these main media channels and call them out about following Fhoney News. I’m been so damned mad at NPR over the last few weeks, as they have run clips of Beck in stories, as though he is a legit news expert. I have and will continue to tell them that it is simply unacceptable to use garbage off of Fhoney News.
24 / 7 they spew and lie and spew and lie and spew…well, you all know what they vomit up.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:21 pmAll hail the unadulterated minds and unanointed princesses of Fox News. They flower in the hearts and turds all who watch while slowly waiting to die. I am honored that they’ve changed their motto from “Fair and Balanced” to “Do what thou wilt“, it’s so much richer!
October 18th, 2009 at 12:23 pmAxelrod is correct in his assertion that the MSM is legitimizing Fox News by treating it as an equal. The MSM should be more critical of Fox rather than let them continue their partisan campaign. If the MSM starts to delegitimizing Fox News, Murdoch will need to reassess.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:25 pmThe temptation for CNN and MSNBC is to run after the morons and dingalings who sit in front of the tube watching high-calorie junk news on Fox while eating high-calorie junk food.
Many of those folks don’t even know how to use a computer, and their reading skills are not the greatest.
The other news networks need to stop with the Fox-lite crap.
If I wanted to watch high-gloss utter nonsense and crap, I would tune into FoxNews, which of course I will never do.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:26 pmThe more Fox complains about the pushhback from Obama adiminstration, the more they prove that the adminstration’s is right. Their complaints about the pushback can only take the form of an attack, it only proves the point.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:26 pmI remember when there used to be media wars.
If I ran MSNBC I would start a fight with ClusterFox every hour of every day. It would force the Foxsuckers to watch my channel and not ClusterFox just to see what is happening. And ClusterFox, since they are lying c0cksuckers, would have no defense.
Easy fight, easy win.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:31 pmIt’s interesting TP banned joe cantwell. But Olby Sucks nee Fox News? Welcome aboard!
October 18th, 2009 at 12:40 pmOlby Sucks is on his way out…
October 18th, 2009 at 12:42 pmIn honor of Rupert “Murder” Murdock’s and Roger Ailes’s policy of being an RNC talking points memo reprint press and briefing spout, Noise Corporation and Flatulent Noise Channel should be renamed Dead Parrot Media.
Aw crap, I think Monty Python has dibs on that alias…
October 18th, 2009 at 12:45 pmolby will get to meet keith and he will wet himself or worse…..
I’ve never seen a person with such a crush on another man in public.
It’s pretty shameful.

MSNBC has been attacking Fox. Olbermann, Schuster and Maddow are very critical of Fox and the way they report the “news.” Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert on the Comedy Network frequently attack Fox News. It is the other networks that are mute.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:48 pmolby longs to touch keiths ass. He can’t stop talking about it.

Absolutely, but shameful is that troll’s middle name.
He’s proven himself to be a genuine racist who hates the 9/11 families and wants to drown President Obama.
Any sane person reading the troll’s dumb, sneering nutbaggery concludes that this Olbermann guy must be doing something right.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:54 pmJust one of your many points of light:
I just wonder why rahm didn’t make Obama go to Israel, you know the only place he has not visited since he’s been in office.
Wonder why that snub was allowed by rahm if what you say is true. Wonder why Israel is bent out of shape over it.
I just wonder how you resolve that small fact in your mind.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:56 pmtrollspotter, olby doesn’t understand that no one reads his posts anyway and he can spam all he wants. It just makes his side look all the more foolish. Mission accomplished troll.
Thanks for helping us.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:59 pmPoor Olby Sucks.
With Olbermann working the NBC desks today to do his sports show later on tonight, his bed’s so cold and empty. All he can do is leaf through the scrapbook and think of all of the things Olbermann’s said to him through the boob tube.
Poor Olby Sucks.
But look on the bright side, OS! The Yankees won two nights in a row against the Angels! If the Giants and Jets win today, it’s celebration sex night! Keep hope alive!
October 18th, 2009 at 1:01 pmKinda creepy to hear this troll use the expression “trick” and “pony” in the same sentence considering how when he’s offline he extracts semen from horses for his living.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:02 pmThe trick pony comment is laden with irony since the man crush has yet to post a comment on topic. He just wants someone to tell him whether his twu wuv wears boxers or briefs.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:05 pmJoe Cantwell was banned? He was namejacked one day. Did that cause some TP moderator to get confused and ban the name altogether. Joe Cantwell if you are here go to TheZoo and I’ll give you Faiz’s email address to correct that.

October 18th, 2009 at 1:20 pmI think Obama is a dreamy looking man. I have a secret crush on him.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:20 pmThat’s the spirit, OS. You’re good enough, smart enough, and, doggone it, you really love Keith!
Yes, you can!
October 18th, 2009 at 1:25 pm@ 94. We knew that all along, OS. Now be a nice troll and go find another site to clutter. The Topic on this thread is NOT whether you’re having Keith’s baby, and if you are, he ought to sue himself for bad taste and worse aesthetics.
(femto-snark)
October 18th, 2009 at 1:25 pmGood! I hope the WH keeps speaking out against Fox. Fox should be forced to take the word “NEWS” out of their name.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:27 pmThey should be called Fox Network or Fox GOP Network. Anything but news.
The President of the United States has determined “Fox is not a legitimate news outlet”. “The power of the bully pulpit” The Whitehouse has been quietly working on this for some time. And it is about time the rest of cable be put on notice. This may be the start of some honestly put back into broadcasting. Obama, you are good!
Marie@7; loved the kids take on Beck, there is some hope for our kids
Olby Sucks, what the hell is this one man(?) crusade. I personally think you done too many hits of acid. No, you are drinking way too much cool aid! Try lying off the stuff for a while. Too much Glenn Beck has the same symptoms.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:27 pmYou do have a fixation with Oberman, sorry I think he may be spoken for. I know, there goes your dreams. So sorry. You have to suck it up!

October 18th, 2009 at 1:50 pmHey Think Progress!
I would like to hear how G-Steph and King responded to the accusation that they followed FOX spin.
It’s true, of course, but I can’t see these guys admitting to that. Did they?
October 18th, 2009 at 1:50 pmif it’s a fox-related thread,
the tweekers are sure to show.
that’s not surprising of course,
but it is creepy.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:53 pmtombaker, a foxsucker is a foxsucker is a foxsucker. That is all ye need know.
October 18th, 2009 at 2:06 pmRascalat, I agree with you. I’d like to hear about how Steph and King responded too.
October 18th, 2009 at 2:08 pmMichelle, was Katherine Harris posing for Big Un’s?
Everytime I go to a right wing website and read the comments is so obvious which FOX host or radio guy they are parroting.
I can have a conversation with a certain relative of mine and it would go something like this:
Him: Birth Certificate!
Me: Lou Dobbs
Him: Obama is taking our country and turning it into something we won’t recognize.
Me: Glenn Beck
You get the idea. They are so predictable how they repeat, verbatim what is spewed to them. Idiots.

October 18th, 2009 at 2:52 pmFirst President Obama, then here. Our Whitehouse residents seem to be stepping it up.
October 18th, 2009 at 3:03 pmGOOD!
It’s obvious dummies don’t use the internet.
A typical repug is like the neighborhood burglar, he is responsible for 99% of the crime, the stir, the talk and confusion.
Then these crooks are the loudest and the the first to cry about their rights and freedoms. They want to use OUR Constitution against us after they spat on it.

They will lose more revenue. This is the only way for them to start telling the truth.
October 18th, 2009 at 3:12 pmAs I understand it, Fox cable news is more ‘popular’ than CNN and MSNBC because it comes free with basic cable, whereas the other two do not.

How about a lying c0cksucker tax for news orgs that can’t get it right like ClusterFox?
I likey, I likey.
This will give proof that they don’t report the truth 100% of the time. There has to be some form of disclaimer for their idiot audience. It’s as if “Foaming-At-The-Mouth-fox” idiots have to be “idiot proof” it’s like warning consumers glass shouldn’t be digested.
If these idiots can’t understand what “option” means after drawing it with crayons then they shouldn’t participate. People with ESL skills know what “option” means.
I’m really tired of dumbing it down for the 18%ers.
October 18th, 2009 at 3:31 pmThe Regressive types serve a valuable function in society if we can just recognize it. If they say it is a bad idea and can’t be done it just means it is time to lock and load and get it done. If they are afraid of it, it is a good thing.
October 18th, 2009 at 3:59 pmThe opposite is also true. If the Regressives think anything is necessary, odds are it isn’t.
October 18th, 2009 at 4:04 pmjjm says:

I think it varies, except Faux does appear to come with all bundles. I think CNN does as well, but my cable experience is primarily with Comcast. We did have MSNBC shut out of the “digital basic” channels for a few years but it’s worked its way back.
Frankly, CNN is pretty dry and lacks the fire & brimstone entertainment value of FauxNews and it has the advantage of putting all the nut job wingers on the same channel.
October 18th, 2009 at 4:06 pmI find it ironic that faux is closing its door on their most realistic channel, Fox Reality.
October 18th, 2009 at 4:07 pmFox Reality…Fox News…SciFi Channel…Comedy Network.

Hi, gummble, I pretty much agree with most of your observation, hence the ellipsis (…), but as for dry, I gotta say that ol’ Woof Bleetzer was right on top of the balloon boy (not) story the other day. He had CNN right in there in the pack, full of mopey hysteria and total fracking confusion.
Now that we’re completely OT, I suppose what you have to do to get the straight story is tune in to C-SPAN. That will at least get you what the pols will actually go on the record with, as contrasted to the weaseling when they get ambushed in a hallway or corridor somewhere under the Capitol. And the Flatulent News pundits and poltroons can’t be trusted with as much as a “the” or an “a” without lying or misrepresenting something, which may or may not have any basis in reality.
Which brings us back to Rahm and Axelrod. At the moment, I certainly am more willing to assume that their spin reflects the way we’re going than anything Flatulent puts out there.

October 18th, 2009 at 5:36 pmYou will be gone without being banned. You will change names based on humiliation alone. Now since you pussed out the other day shall we get back to your obsession and to the reality that I have never seen the program you so obsess about?
I’m surprised there hasn’t been more talk about the fact that FOX “news” misled a nation and called the 2000 presidential election for George W. Bush. On election night CNN (Judy Woodruff), CBS (Dan Rather), and NBC (Tom Brokaw) had already called it for Al Gore, but backed off when FOX (Brit Hume) later called it for Bush. Where did Fox get its information? John Ellis was in charge of the decision desk at FOX and called it for Bush. John Ellis lied and said that Bush won Florida (where Bush’s brother Jeb was governor). John Ellis was George W. Bush’s first cousin. Jeff Toobin, the CNN consultant, later declared on national television that: “If there was a state wide recount, under every scenario, Gore won the election.”

I see Murdoch wears his greed and disdain on the outside – that pretty much raps it up for him as far as journalism and public relations go. Hopefully, soon, the whole Murdoch brand will wear the dark yellow stain it deserves.

October 18th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
It’s already been figured, dear. Fox sued for the right to lie in its “news” stories, and that equals illegitimate.
Run along…

They already do that on a regular basis and FOX comes out consistently on bottom as one might expect with respect to accurate news reporting.

So naturally, I’m not surprised you’re back.

So much for free speech.
I have a saying, the truth does not need to be afraid of the lie, but the lie fears the truth. This is why Christianity is not allowed to be preached in many non-Christian countries. In the united States, which was founded by Christians who had the Truth, the founders did not fear lies, respected the God given Right of free speech and put in the 1st Amendment.
The tendency of Liberals to shout down and prohibit conservative speech, tells me that they are aware, on some level, that they are wrong.
Who is prohibiting any speech? Has someone determined to shut down FoxNews? Really? I must have missed that. I thought it was simply that Democrats have finally worked out that no good comes of them giving credibility to a propaganda network.
And, seriously, it’s time for you to crack a book. The Founders as a group were NOT Christians, but instead included a number of deists. They also went out of their way to ensure that this was not a “Christian” country. And thank God they did.

What are your thoughts on the teabaggers shouting down their Congress members at townhalls and any other voices they didn’t happen to agree with, and the Bush administration’s policy of not allowing any form of dissent in Georgie’s hand-picked audiences?

October 18th, 2009 at 7:29 pmminutemann: I don’t think that any of the Founding Fathers were Deist’s. I think that this is revisionism. The proof I offer is the following:
That’s not proof, it’s simple a definition, and there is nothing “revisionist” about a simple fact. Just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn’t make it untrue.

minutemann @139,
The reporting on any of the networks is wanting, FOX being the worst.
I don’t need a political slant either way. Give me the dam facts and I will draw my own conclusions.
The situation at present is a perverse excuse of a free press.
Fair and balanced, what a joke and if you believe that one you are a real idiot.

Both advisers made the point that Fox is not a legitimate news outlet, but rather a network with a biased perspective.
Got a shock today. I tried to go to FOX News to comment on this poll:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/15/fox-news-poll-opposition-health-care-reform-holds-steady/
I wanted to point out this article by Newsweek:
http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/thegaggle/archive/2009/10/15/the-problem-with-two-conflicting-health-reform-polls.aspx
I mean, it’s pretty sad when even Newsweek is pointing out your biases.
So, I go there, expecting a comment thread with a ton of “See? We knew it! Obama sucks” comments, and what do I find? No comments allowed on the FOX article. But that’s not what shocked me.
Here’s what shocked me: You are only allowed to recommend the article. There is NO option to “thumbs down” it!
After seeing that, don’t tell me that FOX News isn’t biased, and doesn’t manipulate its reports to make it look like they’re “fair and balanced” when in reality they are NOT.
BTW – I’ve been flagging minutemann for baiting. I recommend others do too. He’s constantly making statements that will ultimately lead to nothing more than off-topic derailment because everyone needs to correct him so much – particularly on his history, religious information, definitions, and his “proof” of…well, who the hell knows.

This may be the dumbest single sentence I’ve ever read.
I once had a fundie explain to me that God had created the entire Universe for one single purpose: to awe Mankind. This was actually part of his explanation refuting the concept of life on other planets — there’s nothing out there but a very fancy lightshow intended to get humans on board with the whole worshipping God thing.
He refused to consider that this sheds a very poor light on his god — a god so insecure that he has to create an entire universe just to get a little love. And a god so unimaginative that this planet and its pitiful selection of plants and animals is it, total, everything.
October 18th, 2009 at 8:40 pmOlby, when did “liberal hyppocracy” become a term?
October 18th, 2009 at 8:42 pmLevi, when did Olby issue a coherent comment?
October 18th, 2009 at 8:45 pmI would insist that anyone who makes the claim here that the US is a “Christian nation” should first explain the total and complete absence of the words “Jesus” or “Christ” in any of the founding documents. No more pussyfooting around claiming that “Creator” proves the Founders were Christian, no more silly stories about Ben Franklin and prayer, just a concise explanation of those missing words.
October 18th, 2009 at 8:47 pmI guess when you are trying to prevent the fall of the Republican Party, you are willing to forgo coherent comments. At least that is the strategy the fascist propagandists have been using so far.
I wonder how that has been working out for them?

So I asked you when “progressive hypocrisy” became a term. Who coined the term? Please provide a link to it.

October 18th, 2009 at 8:56 pmI used to find it amusing that so many fundamentalist “Christians” are so ignorant of the Bible, but since it’s the same crowd that also is so ignorant of their country’s history and willfully stupid when it comes to current events, my amusement has turned into disgust.
And the common denominator amongst these intellectual gnats is Fox News …
October 18th, 2009 at 8:56 pmBeing a proud atheist, I usually try to steer clear of criticizing someone’s religious beliefs, no matter how much more misguided than average they may be. But this whole idea that Jesus Christ and his father, God, were one and the same person is absolutely preposterous, and something only an idiot would truly believe. And no, I don’t say that merely because I don’t understand it, I say it because it’s a fact. You are literally believing the Impossible and claiming it as Truth.
Also, I’m pretty sure the construction of the Great Pyramids pre-dated the existence of Jesus on Earth. Science, therefore, pre-dated the one you claim inspired it.
P.S. The “God of the bible” was neither logical nor rational.
October 18th, 2009 at 9:41 pmChristianity is modern mythology as compared to the ancient mythologies. Eventually Christianity will fade, just as the worship of Zeus and Ra did.

October 18th, 2009 at 10:10 pmWell bluesunflower, all you have to do is look at the comments on this site to see how rude many of the Left Wingers are. Maybe the people at Fox is tired of the verbal vomit.
As for the following comment you made:
“BTW – I’ve been flagging minutemann for baiting. I recommend others do too. He’s constantly making statements that will ultimately lead to nothing more than off-topic derailment because everyone needs to correct him so much – particularly on his history, religious information, definitions, and his “proof” of…well, who the hell knows.”
I do not want to be rude. I have got better things to do then wate my time agitating people here. I actually am here to learn and teach. I supposed that all of the snide comments were just a form of fellowship, like the ribbing you get from people in New Jersey.
I think you have a good point about being off topic. In the first post I commented on, I did ask what a progressive was because I am curious who progressives they are. I don’t want to just reley on Conservatives for this information, even though they are very reliable sources. I would rather ask these questions on a forum where I can start topics and get questions answered.
In this post, the attack by the White House and other Democrat media outlets like CNN is a first amenmdment issue, and right on topic for this thread. There has been a Christianity spin off. I was just using Christianity as an example. Free speech and religion go hand in hand, that’s why ththey are both mentioned in the 1st Amendment. Other people made it the main topic of their post, I just responded.
My first post in this thread challenged the assumption that Fox news is wrong by reason of being in the minority. I think Fox news is fair and balanced. and most of the other big media outlets are basically Democrat propaganda machines. I am either right or wrong about this, but the issue has not been discussed in this thread long enough to ferret out the truth.
If you guys just want to preach to the choir here, and don’t want to have your assumptions challenged, I will leave you alone. Warning, not being willing to consider that you might be wrong, will lock you into being wrong about anything you happen to be wrong about.
Questions:
Does anybody here know of a good Left Wing forum where people like to do some critical thinking, challenge assumptions, discuss issues from both sides?
Is there anybody here who is interested enough, and brave enough to say that they would like me to stay so that we might learn from each other?
If not, have a nice day.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:32 pmMinuteman,
You can find critical thinking here, but rarely from any Republicans. I would like you to stay, because you have so much to learn. I personally doubt you are willing to learn, because, as a Christian, you put belief over truth.
You stated you think Fox News is fair and balanced. That means you are delusional and probably need to be interred in a re-education gulag. When you talk about “Democrat propaganda” you show you are wingnut partisan because the term would be Democratic, not Democrat.
I hope you can open your mind to truth, and shut out the lies Satan has been feeding you, but frankly the chance that your soul can be saved is minimal.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:52 pmIf civilization was started by the Greeks, then we are a Zeus civilization. I want mandatory prayers to Zeus by every student in every class.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:54 pmhere’s the problem with your ‘theory’ minutemann…
I watch news from every source.. not simply liberal sources – including FOX news.. when I can stomach it. The point is they blatantly lie.. over and over. They don’t contribute news.. they contribute opinion pieces. Keith Olbermann is similar in that way.. he usually is the liberal alternative to FOX because he’s not being ‘balanced’.. he’s offering his opinion. The difference, of course, is that I agree with Keith.. but the other difference is he is just one guy.. not an entire 24 hour ‘news’ organization. Fox is the only one that agrees with fox.. the bbc.. npr..abc.. nbc.. cnn..msnbc it doesn’t matter where else you go – you find the opposite view. Let me explain to you what NEWS is… you show what happened.. and then if you want to post an opinion piece on it.. you give two people with opposing views. That is ‘fair and balanced’.. FOX not only rarely offers the actual footage in full.. so that a person can reach their own conclusion, they also – when offering an opinion – have only one opinion.. ever. Never do they have the opposing side. As I said.. Keith Olbermann is guilty of this too.. but he is a needed reaction to the propaganda machine that is FOX. And most importantly.. FOX deliberately lies to their viewers.. did you see, for example, when Glenn Beck claimed the government would have rights to your computer if you went to the cash for clunkers website? This has been debunked everywhere.. it was a disclaimer that only appeared on when the car dealer went to the site.. but Beck reveals his intentions when he says ‘don’t go to the site’ and then also fails to bring up the page on his computer.. because he already knew he was doing what he always does.. bold faced lying and spreading fear and distrust of the government. Wake up minutemann… FOX is using you as a tool, brainwashing the public.. real news is when you are given the actual footage and allowed the adult responsibility to decide for yourself.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:58 pmAnd Fox News is nothing but GOP Propaganda. I’m glad that Obama and company are pointing it out. It seems obvious to me, but evidently not to others.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:59 pmand Levi… I am a Christian. – and a Democrat for life.. and I take offense that Democrats feel the need to equate godlessness with liberalism. Life is not a random mutation.. matter of fact.. nothing random has ever occurred – for example.. throw a die – the result is determined by a long list of factors – trajectory, inertia.. what have you – but there is nothing random about it. Nothing random has happened.. everything is the result of physical laws.. the question being where did these laws stem from.. you may have your opinion that it was all simply a material process with no mind behind it. I respectfully disagree.. and I’d prefer you keep the religion out of politics. I’d prefer everyone did.. including the Republicans.. this is not the middle east.. there they see no seperation.. I would think we, as the product of a more developed nation, understand that they are two separate subjects.. and shouldn’t be combined. I believe in God.. for the first 25 years of my life I did not… what the hell does that have to do with politics??? When you combine the two you marginalize the Democratic party and alienate members.. like me. =)
October 18th, 2009 at 11:07 pmThe unseen power of Zeus has revealed that Fox News is nothing but a political propaganda apparatus. Pretty much proves that the USA is a Zeus worshiping nation.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:07 pmLux,
When you talk about random occurrences, I presume you are trying to disprove evolution but you just rambled without being particularly clear. Maybe you were trying to prove that God exists by attempting to disprove random occurrences. I am uncertain but I can address both points.
We have studied genetics in some detail, and we know for a fact, that random mutations do occur. If you don’t believe it, try doing a study of fruit fly mutations yourself, you can find the experiment online and it is really easy. One of my science classes in grade school did it. There was no evidence that God decided what mutations were going to occur instead of those mutations being random.
Christians are always desperate to try to prove their mythology is true, and they always fail. Trying to prove the existence of God by determinism is irrational. It may make it easier for you to accept reality to have a magic God determining the outcome of everything, but that doesn’t make it true.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:20 pmso the mutations were not the result of environmental factors? They occurred miraculously.. without any guiding principle? You believe things I never could.
The point is – any mutation is the result of actual, determinable physical processes. That’s not ‘random’.. and it implies it is just another part of the very laws of nature. I imagine you’re one to dispute the idea of whether nature has ‘laws’ as well.. ridiculous. Everything is guided by exact, determinable laws – of course you have the right to say ‘you have no evidence’ a God created these things… but so what?
This is a politics site.. if you want to discuss religion.. or argue against it’s validity – Richard Dawkins has a site for you.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:29 pmI’d have affordable health care if Athena hadn’t caught Zeus with his “hand” in the cookie jar.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:29 pmOk Levi the Oracle. Thank you for the invitation.
I must say that I am afraid of the re-education gulag. That is what society did to Lovers of Liberty in Russia under Communism. I think that Obama would institute that next week, if he thought he could get away with it. I am worried that it might be tried within his 4 year term.
The lack of respect for freedom of conscience and Liberty in general exhibited by people who advocate Socialism, makes me think that a majority of people on the Left will fail to stand up for my Rights at any point all the way to the gas chamber. This fear is reinforced by the behavior of many people on this site. The general disrespect and underlying hatred. This is how it started for the Jews in Germany. One of the commentators even referred to me as an “it”. The dehumanization of people, is a stage on the path to mass graves. In Germany, the Jews were considered to be less than human, that is how people justified the atrocities committed against them.
Be that as it may, I will be standing up for the truth, as I can best determine it to be. Since I am saved, I am ready to meet my maker, and nothing can happen to me unless it is ok with God.
The whole Democrat/Democratic thing has been weird for me. When somebody is a member of the Republican party, calling them Republicans flows with no problem. When somebody is a member of the Democratic Party, calling them Democratics just sounds wrong. Calling them Democrats flows. What is the problem with that?
October 18th, 2009 at 11:31 pmlux @ 190′
I am in complete agreement with you. I believe Christ warned his followers not to mix the two kingdoms.
I believe Franklin said “A government not of a god, but a government of godly men”. I believe he ment this to be an inclusive statement, not an exclusive one.
Levi @ 176
October 18th, 2009 at 11:39 pmI think minutemann has shown his lack of religious training, and I do find that aggravating. Don’t assume he speaks with any authority to Christian values I hold.
minutemann, for the “problem” with Democrat vs. Democratic, you might try clicking here for a comprehensive article on the subject.
Earlier you made the absurd statement that “science was born out of Christianity.” One can only wonder if you live in total ignorance of all the science that predates Christianity (in which case here’s a link to get you started), or if you’re simply a disingenuous troll who says ridiculous things in the hopes of negative attention.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:40 pmminutemann @ 195,
“That is what society did to Lovers of Liberty in Russia under Communism”.
Would you please elaborate, this is interesting?
October 18th, 2009 at 11:44 pmTo lux’s post, comment #188 of this thread.
OK, so you say Glenn Beck lies, I will be careful.
I must say that the reason I consider him to be reliable,is that he champions Freedom, for real. when he talks about issues relating to Freedom, I know he is on target because I have figured that stuff out for myself. Being and engineering type, I have to be good at figuring out where the critical points are in a system that determine what the other parameters are. I have put in the hours figuring out Liberty, Human Nature, and Government. Glenn Beck has it right on that subject whether he was wrong, accidentally or on purpose, about the cash for clunkers thing.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:45 pmIn this country you are free to believe whatever goofy crap you want. It’s nicer for everyone else if you keep it between yourself and your “god”.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:49 pmthx flight..and a good quote
but one caveat on the ‘don’t join politics with religion’ theme..
Any Republican that professes to be Christian.. and any party which holds these ideas as part of their platform should be fairly expected to uphold the values they profess. I feel it’s a fair criticism to point out their failures as representatives of the ‘christian’ right. I don’t feel it’s legitimate to argue about religion itself.. since this is not the place – but if they call themselves Christians.. then they should at least vaguely resemble what they preach.. and they never have.
It’s also a fair criticism to judge my behavior as a christian… though I don’t expect perfect behavior from anyone.. but as a christian I should at least portray some form of morality (which is actually why I’m a Democrat.. they tend to be for all.. including the unfortunate.. rather than the right which is for — the right)

October 19th, 2009 at 12:09 amI have heard about how people who do not fall in line get labeled insane etc. etc., in Communist countries. We have some of this Left Wing indoctrination going on in this country, they call it ’sensitivity training’.
I met a man is Switzerland who was once part of the Polish Military during World War II. He told me that after the west gave Poland over the Russians, they brought people from Russia in to teach his military group the Communist principals. He told me that when he and the others were not in class, they joked about how the Communist philosophy was a bunch of baloney that would never work in the end. He told me that the Russians has put some fake Polish solders in his squad, and that everyone who had joked about Communism got sent to gulag in Russia for “re-education”. He said that he escaped and moved by night until he got to the western side and that he was lucky yo get out before they Communists built the ‘iron curtain’ to keep people in.
When I asked the ex-Polish soldier what he thought of Communism, he said something that I didn’t understand until years later. He said “Who cares if the bars on the cage are golden, it is still a cage. I later figured out that he was saying, ‘it doesn’t matter if Communism is the most productive and efficient system ever devised, Freedom is more important.’ so the fact that Communism creates mass poverty and kill Freedom, makes it a nightmare system. I have been able to figure out that it is actually the lack of Freedom which causes the poverty.
Interesting how Communism is sold to people as ‘the workers paradise’, yet they have to build ‘iron curtains’ to keep people from escaping. In Capitalist/Freedom USA, we need to build a fence to keep people out. This fact speaks for itself.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:12 amThat was pretty good jb, but this would have been a little bit better:
Maybe minuteman is off to “church” again. He’ll be back in a minute, man.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:14 amThat was a quick bit of Prayin’, man. Did you find any commies? Or do you just use that term for anybody who doesn’t pray like you do?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:20 amWhat’s your plan for affordable health care?…Pray to Jesus and keep shoveling money to the Insurance Companies?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:23 amI guess I should have said modern science, which included brilliant people like Newton who figured out calculus.
I also include Jewish scientists, since they are of the old testament and John chapter 1 tells us the Old Testament too.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:25 amHow about Muslim scientists, they have done some amazing things and their God has a beard?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:28 amoops, for comment 216
John Chapter 1 tells us that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh who was with God from the beginning, and is also God – part of the trinity. This means that Jesus Christ actually wrote the Old Testament.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:28 amSo, the White House is telling us who we should watch for news coverage. Chavez would be proud. I wonder how the media would have felt if the Bush Administration said that we shouldn’t be watcing CNN or MSNBC.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:29 amI like zero, it is my hero – see school house rock. Besides the science of math, what are some of the other things they have done?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:30 amI’m pretty sure Zeus had a little fling on the side which led to Jesus.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:30 amGood question.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:31 amActually, Jesus said he was the I Am, present tense for everlasting to everlasting – infinity – always has existed.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:33 amminutemann… your whole communism spiel sounds like brainwashing – you even start it off with ‘I’ve heard that….’
So you base your political viewpoint on some vague idea that you ‘heard somewhere’… no references.. no books.. or links.. or something — it’s obviously some type of gossipy rumor that you have cobbled together piece by piece from radomly uncited, incredulous sources.. ones you can’t even name..
There is no ‘left wing’ indoctrination.. and you fricken know it. SERIOUS. To even pretend otherwise is as much of a lie as your friend Glenn Becks rants – minutemann.. you are free to believe whatever the hell you want to believe.. it’s a free country. No one is forcing you to give a crap about those who can’t afford health care.. it’s just the damn right thing to do! As you sound more and more crooked.. and more and more like FOX news.. you piss me off more and more.
There’s no indoctrination.. except from FOX news.. which is the one and only source for conspiracy bull$hit. – Please show us the examples of the liberal conspiracy… cite them.. with ACTUAL sources.. not ‘I heard once… blah blah’
October 19th, 2009 at 12:34 amActually, the article I linked you to speaks to that point:
There’s no great mystery about the motives behind this deliberate misnaming. “Democrat Party” is a slur, or intended to be—a handy way to express contempt. Aesthetic judgments are subjective, of course, but “Democrat Party” is jarring verging on ugly. It fairly screams “rat.”
minutemann, by your logic it would seem that the conservatives who have told you to use the expression “Democrat Party” have an interest in dehumanizing the left, no doubt in the hopes of someday murdering these dehumanized political opponents as easily as one might gas rats.
It’s also possible that your attempt at connecting someone calling you “it” on a blog to the horror and suffering of the Holocaust was a tad overblown.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:34 amSome pretty nifty stuff…
October 19th, 2009 at 12:36 amhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventions_in_medieval_Islam
No, Zeus said that I AM thingey first.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:38 amNo other God can kick Zeus’s butt, except Athena when she’s really mad.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:39 amminutemann,
Great first hand account. I saw a man holding a sign, protesting the war in Iraq, get carted away before G. W. Bush’s arrival. I can remember any negative discussion of the Iraq war as treasonous. I was warned not to visit certain websites or I would be blacklisted (this actually happened to the person relaying the story). minuteman, these are my first hand accounts and you are free to repeat them.
Obama has not spoken, or issued a directive that has in anyway threatened my liberties.
Nothing like I have witnessed above.
You can extrapolate and conjecture all you want, but it is not fact.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:41 amBrings back memories of the “Free Speech Zones”, Bush-speak for cages.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:43 amWhat kind of a name is “Axelrod”……if I had a name like that I would change it to…..…oh, I dont know…..maybe…ummmm Pistonpin or Spindlebearing…….Batterypost?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:46 amDid you know that the Bible makes many claims which can be checked out scientifically archeologically and by other scientific disciplines. The Bible always checks out, so I believe it on the things it says which cannot be checked, like the 6 day creation, or the 6,000 year age of the earth, and the claim that it is the infallible word of God with no contradictions. I have spent over 10 years checking into this in my spare time. As a born again Christian, I also have the Holy Spirit, God, helping me to get things correct. The Holy Spirit is another wittiness to the truth that I have, which many other people do not have. They can have the Holy Spirit too, anybody can by repenting of sin and believing in Christ.
Compare the Bibles track record with that of scientists, notice that I did not say science, scientists. They are wrong at least 30% of the time, so I do not believe scientists on anything which goes against God’s word – the KJV Bible for those who speak english.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:48 am.. give it up.
No one’s buying it trolls – not even you.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:49 amThe Christian religion is superior to all others in its ability to kill innocent people of other faiths.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:50 amI like crankshaft.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:51 amSlappyBastinado’
October 19th, 2009 at 12:53 amWhat kind of name is Slappy Bastinado, if I had a name like that I would change it to dick, maybe pinhead, or just maybe spanky, or toejam, or trenchmouth……..
nice timing on my part… right after the biblical speech. *sigh*
I was replying to the ridiculous claim of Olby and anti-Obama protesters being carted away… which ones Olby? The ones toting assault rifles? Or the ones showing effigies of him? It’s hard to keep track of how they are insinuating an assassination of the president each day..
It’s amazing they have time for it.. between planning a civil war.. buying bullets.. investing all their money in gold while it’s at it’s highest price… fricken idiots.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:53 amBush starts the caging of dissenters and Right Wingers thought it was just grand keeping all those protesters from disturbing W’s royal proceedings. When Obama allows the practice to continue, Right wingers attack the practice, not on principle, but to score political points against Obama. Someday it may be you wingnuts that are locked in cages.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:55 amI’m crying about something? News to me. minutemann asked about the history of Democratic Party vs. Democrat Party, so I linked him to an article.
Sorry your sensitive little feelings get so hurt when those darn meanies call your Republican heroes all those nasty names.
Telling, little racist. Telling.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:56 amZeus is right 100% of the time and if he’s not he figures a tricky way out of admitting it.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:57 amThis is not accurate, check the handbook/Bible.
If I said I was a Judo Black Belt, and you saw me fight and found out that I could not even use my feet in a fight, would you conclude that Judo is a whimpy form of martial arts, or would you say that I am not a black belt?
The term Christian means; to follow Christ. People who go around murdering people for not believing as they do, are not following Jesus Christ who said to dust of your feet and move on when people are not interested.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:57 amminutemann # 235,
October 19th, 2009 at 12:58 amHave you ever heard of self righteousness?
Have you been anointed teacher?
Have you every heard of arrogance?
jb @ 237, I have to admit that Christianity has been hi jacked for self righteousness purposes, but that is a very broad statement and one I would take issue with it.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:03 amflight……for that stupid post you get 1 free bastinado.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:03 amYou claim that ours is a “Christian Nation”, yet we have killed how many millions of innocent people?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:05 amDo not make the mistake of thinking that people who say that the Government should not be doing handouts, is the same thing as saying people should not be helped. Charity is a beautiful thing, but it is only charity, when it is given voluntarily.
Note the Jesus Christ said to give to the poor, but He never said to FORCE others to give to the poor.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:05 amminutemann.. the fact that you are in a bigoted fanatical political party, doesn’t that interfere with your christian belief in helping the needy, caring for the sick, not judging others etc. etc.
How can you follow a group of racists like Limbaugh and Beck, who have amassed their wealth from spreading hate and dissention throughout the country.. how can you follow behind these psychos? You really think these guys portray Christian values? They support the corporations.. they support racism / sexism and most importantly WAR. They are fueled by the overwhelming desire to bomb and kill any other country.. ANY other country.. they hardly give a damn which one – only the Good ol’ U.S. of A is worth keepin anyway.. right? Oh.. maybe not – because they would also kill off the minorities in their own country.. even though we are nation that was BUILT from immigrant beginnings! They would remove medicare and all welfare.. they would increase the death penalty even though the bible says not to kill… they are vengeful.. spiteful.. evil self centered..
for god’s sake.. how long do I have to go on before you as a believer can see that? This is morality to you?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:06 amAlways? You might want to check this out.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:08 amCrusades, Spanish Inquisition, conquering and slaughter of native peoples of the New World, right on down to the Iraq war. Millions of innocents killed by “Christians”.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:08 amOlby Sucks,@ 234
October 19th, 2009 at 1:08 amIf you don’t see the difference you are demented. Since when did threatening to kill the president become acceptable. Oh yes, when Obama won the election. I see how you project!
Blackwater.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:09 amCollateral Damage. Is that in the Bible?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:11 amminutemann says ‘Note the Jesus Christ said to give to the poor, but He never said to FORCE others to give to the poor.’
this is a stupid excuse republican’s use to not help the needy.. and no minutemann.. no one is buying it – not even you. No one buys the idea that republican’s care for the needy – and neither should you! How many years of their actions.. and their disgusting excesses and wealth.. and wars must you watch before you see them for what they are! You’re actually using the lame excuse that they just object to being forced to give? Jesus gave free health care. Wake up to the hypocrisy you and your party represent. Easier for a rich man to go through the eye of a needle than get to heaven. Either live by the book you claim to believe in.. or don’t call yourself a christian… please. for my sake.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:12 amjb @ 252 Can’t argue except the same thing in the middle east and on and on. I have a serious issue with minutemann for the same reason.
Man perverts Christianity, Christianity doesn,t pervert men!
October 19th, 2009 at 1:13 am@ 180. Intrepid says: “Levi the Oracle says: Minutemann is just a little stupider than the average American. He writes with the grammar and spelling of a grade schooler, thinks that both Jesus and God created the universe, while being clueless about Christianity. His knowledge is history is utterly revisionist and bias.” I am glad he left while I was not around, because I would have taken his bait and torn him to shreds. You should’ve around during that record breaking long thread. Me, Eugene Debs and a few others laid waste to his trollturds. He eventually bailed out. Funny he made a claim that I surrendered when HE was the one who became the surrender monkey. October 18th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
October 19th, 2009 at 1:16 amJesus seems like a cool dude, but what happened. So many of the folks who thump the bible the loudest seem so different from him. I’m averse to anybody that professes any religion, except Zeus of course.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:17 amYes I have. If you think you have nothing to learn from those on the Right, or anything to learn from me, somebody you barely know, would that fit the definition of arrogant?
Self Righteousness is an interesting subject. How do you think that term became accepted as negative? I think it is because the English speaking world has its roots in Christianity. Did you know that the righteousness of Christians come from Jesus Christ’s perfect sinless righteousness when we accept the free gift of salvation? This was the point of Jesus coming to earth with the mission to die on the cross. Christianity teaches that we cannot earn righteousness on our own, that we cannot be Self-Righteous? Most, if not all, other religions teach that you must earn your own righteousness through good works, Self-Righteousness.
Did you learn anything from me yet?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:17 amlux @ 256, I hope you understand that minutemann’s religious training leaves something to be desired.
minuteman has designer Christianity. You dial in what you want and bingo.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:17 amokay.. i messed that up.. =)
i meant easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.. but Republicans are about camel size.. same thing.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:18 am@ 158, Continued; Intrepid, on the very long Glenda thread I clocked a couple of comments for minutemann at around the #1130 mark, and he came back and tried to make nice.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:19 am@ 263 – that should be @ 258 continued. Long day, jittery mouse fingers, blah yadda…
October 19th, 2009 at 1:20 amflight.. lmao. designer Christianity.. nice
And in reply to minutemann ‘Did you learn anything from me yet?’
no. not the slightest thing.. except that you will bend over backwards to make your religion fit your own screwed up values. You will use any bizarre methodology to explain away the inconsistencies – and reconcile the two polar opposites. In otherwords… you’re a typical Republican.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:24 amminutemann @ 260,
From what I’ve seen, I don’t want to learn anything from you. You are self righteous and arrogent You are of superior intellect and are exclusive in your own mind. You sound like a perfect Republican.
Note: I know enough about you from your posting to know you have very little to offer. As Crist said, shake the dust from your sandles.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:25 am@ 182. Levi the Oracle says: I stuck with that mega thread up through about 350 so I missed most of the fun. I am getting to old to stay up late. October 18th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
that’s OK, the damn reply text box was so slow at the 1100 mark that it took several minutes to be able to review what I’d typed in blind. looked like the text buffer was really restricted, partitioned down to loading maybe 50 to 100 characters at a time to pop back out the display.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:25 amYou should check out the book ‘Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compasionate Conservatism’. Who Gives, Who Doesn’t, and Why It Matters by Arthur C. Brooks. He does a study on who really cares enough about the needy to actually do something for them without being forced to do it. Conservatives take the trophy hands down. No wonder they think the Government can GET OUT, when it comes to helping the poor. The Grace commision found that the government only got 28 cents, out of every welfare dollar, to the poor. 78 cents went down the black hole of Government waste.
I think that many people on the Left think that Government has to FORCE people into helping the poor because they know they wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t mandatory.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:27 amYou don’t get your soup till you do some prayin”. Stop all Government funding of faith based charities.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:30 amjb @ 259, Jesus Christ is great, I really like him! You know I ask myself the same question. Why are so many so different?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:30 amA great mystery I guess.
You can say that I am doing designer Christianity, and that is a fine conversation opener. Now back it up by telling me what I said that you think is made up.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:33 amWhat ’so different’ differences are you referring to?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:35 amBuddha has some fine things to offer. And dare I say Allah also taught many fine things. Zeus not so much, he just is powerful and full of life and faults and joy and sorrow.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:38 amAMEN TO THAT!!! When Government funds ‘faith based’ charities, it violates the freedom of conscience that this country is founded on, and it gets its tentacles where they don’t belong.
I include the faith based religion of evolution in the list too. Since evolution canot be proven, it must be accepted on FAITH.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:39 amA Christian approaches, look out, they want your soul, your money, your life.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:39 amThey have some things which are true. For the whole truth and nothing but the truth, go to the KJV Bible.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:40 amMinutemann… bull.
I witness the caring nature of your party every single day.
as does the world.. down the barrel of a gun.
compassionate conservatism is an oxymoron – and were I to waste my time reading your partisan book of fixed numbers.. I’d debunk the study in a heartbeat.. though I’m sure it’s already been done by other sources. Every time we find ourselves caught up in debunking your ’studies’ we end up going ‘doh! I fell for it again! I wasted my energy trying to prove that violent hateful bigots were actually violent hateful bigots..’ There’s no point in even pursuing it – the figure heads of your party speak for themselves – and we report it truthfully – right here.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:41 amThanks but no thanks.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:42 amLet me put it another way…take your phony xtian BS and shove it where the sun don’t shine.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:43 amActually, they don’t want any of those things, they are just the messenger who tells you that God does.
2 Peter 3:9
October 19th, 2009 at 1:44 amThe Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
minutemann@ 272′
I suggest you take Christ off your chest and put him in your heart where He belongs.
I think that would fix the “why are so many so different”, don’t you.
enough said! good night, flight
October 19th, 2009 at 1:46 amWhy do Christian feel they have a right to intrude into my personal beliefs. Get the phuck away from me. Take your BS quotes from a book and read them to yourself, silently.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:46 amLux
Do you believe that God allows men to choose between heaven and hell?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:47 am@ 212. minutemann says: …
I have heard about how people who do not fall in line get labeled insane etc. etc., in Communist countries.
… October 19th, 2009 at 12:12 am
The West didn’t give Poland over to the Soviets; the West didn’t have Poland. You can’t give someone something you don’t have.
On the other hand, at the end of WWII, the Soviets did have Poland because they had pushed the German Army back out of Russia, out of the Soviet Union, through the Baltic countries and through Poland and through the Black Sea countries, like Romania, through Hungary, back to Germany. The Soviets got Poland after WWII because their army was right there on the ground and we weren’t. We had pushed the German army back from the West and South and the Russians, the Soviets, from the East.
The Soviets also had a piece of Poland at the beginning of WWII, in 1939, because they cut a deal with the Germans, a Non-Agression Treaty, wherein the Germans got Western and Central Poland and the Soviets got the part of Poland adjacent to the Ukraine and Belarus. A little over a year and a half later, in 1941, the Germans attacked the Soviets across a broad front thru Poland into Czechoslovakia and made it as far as the Volga River and the Caucasus before the Soviets managed to start pushing them back in 1943.
‘Sensitivity training’ is not Communist indoctrination; what ignoramus told you that.
What is your country of origin, minutemann? How much of your knowledge of history, etc, is from reading and how much is anecdotal, such as what your Polish friend in Switzerland told you?
October 19th, 2009 at 1:50 amjb @ 282, I have no right to interfere with your personal beliefs and I will be the first to stand up for that point.
I can’t be a Christian if I didn’t feel that way.
To each his own and in his own time!
October 19th, 2009 at 1:51 amThanks, Flight. I never felt that from you. My comments were meant for the minuteman. Stay Cool. JB
October 19th, 2009 at 1:55 am@ 218. minutemann says: oops, for comment 216 John Chapter 1 tells us that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh who was with God from the beginning, and is also God – part of the trinity. This means that Jesus Christ actually wrote the Old Testament. October 19th, 2009 at 12:28 am
I think there are some rabbis out there who would disagree with you. They might even call you a heretic and blasphemer, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Christianist.
Traditionally, Moses wrote the Pentateuch, and some other folks wrote the rest of the old Testament. Jesus didn’t have anything to do with it, in any direct sense; after all, he was not made flesh until the conception. There are a number of scholars who would be happy to tell you that the Torah, the Pentateuch, wasn’t actually written by Moses either; that the entire “Old Testament” was not collected and written down until the Babylon captivity and after.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:02 amGuys? Like I said, just flag minutemann. He’s baiting, and has managed to derail the thread with his trolling and off-topicness. Hence the last 100 posts that have NOTHING to do with the article at hand.
Plus – he’s not reading or comprehending, so you’re not really having a conversation. It’s like explaining to a child why it’s good to eat vegetables. Ab-so-lute-ly NO comprehension.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:05 amas I said earlier minutemann.. I believe this is a site about politics – and that the conversation too often turns to religious matters.. which truly have no bearing on any of this.
For example..you can be pro-life.. if you wish – and claim that you agree with the Republicans because of this..and religious beliefs.. but you can also see that they are known for racism and sexism and warmongering.. and sex scandals..and corruption scandals.. etc. etc. and go ‘woah… these guys don’t reflect my religious views.. or my views at all’..
They may have one view you agree with on some biblical level.. but that is basicly all I see – even their stance on homosexuality is not religiously backed simply because Christ’s statement that ‘judge not lest ye be judged’.. ‘he who is without sin throw the first stone’ .. any of this ring any bells? you are not the judge of man.. your God is. You have no place NONE in saying what any person can or can’t do.. you can have your opinion.. but to follow a group that blatantly does the opposite of biblical teaching.. and then claim they are Christians?
The Democratic party honors freedom.. the right for each to believe what they wish.. to not infringe on others rights. Also to use government as a tool to benefit mankind when necessary. I think abortion is wrong.. but same as Christ saying you shouldn’t judge your fellow man.. I cannot tell another what they can or can’t do. The only place we are forced to do otherwise is when it endangers our own health – this is why abortion is such a touchy issue.. the viewpoint of considering it another unborn citizen.. it’s the reason the question can’t really be put away.. it’s as impossible as pointing to proof of God..
okay.. I’ve run on a bit.. the original point is simply I cannot condemn you.. only God can – yet Republican’s have taken to condemning nearly everyone who is in any way not fitting their standard. That is the exact opposite of biblical teaching.
And still.. this is a place for politics.. not religion, but you ask questions and I answer.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:09 amOh, I’m sorry jb. Is it wrong to talk about peoples personal beliefs. Don’t you want to talk about religious beliefs?

October 19th, 2009 at 2:10 amI am so glad the WH is taking on Fox! I am so glad they are being openly called out. Fox is not a news channel. I like this WH strategy. And it is getting under Fox’s skin. They are finally being openly exposed for what they are, which is NOT a news station.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:10 am@ 223. minutemann says: … Actually, Jesus said he was the I Am, present tense for everlasting to everlasting – infinity – always has existed. October 19th, 2009 at 12:33 am
Actually, not. Jesus is purported to have said he was the Son of Man. The God of Abraham, the God of the Pentateuch, who does NOT include Jesus, because the God of the Pentateuch is NOT a Trinitarian artifact, is purported to have said “I am who I am”.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:10 amsorry bluesunflower =) you make a good point.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:11 amSay flight, the term Christian means to follow Christ. To put in another way, to do what He said do.
Mark 16
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Telling somebody the truth about God cannot hep but ‘interfere’ with their personal beliefs, unless they already have heard it. Of course, if they reject the message, move on. Don’t waste you time.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:17 ambluesunflower and lux,
They’re are three things that should never discussed in good company. Sex, religion and politics. I guess we should skip the first two. But it ain’t no fun.
love, flight
October 19th, 2009 at 2:18 amminutemann @ 294
You shoot your mouth off too much. Try demonstrating it. You are too caught up in your own self importance.
Give it some thought, teacher!
October 19th, 2009 at 2:22 am@ 288. bluesunflower says: Guys? Like I said, just flag minutemann. He’s baiting, and has managed to derail the thread with his trolling and off-topicness. Hence the last 100 posts that have NOTHING to do with the article at hand.
Plus – he’s not reading or comprehending, so you’re not really having a conversation. It’s like explaining to a child why it’s good to eat vegetables. Ab-so-lute-ly NO comprehension. October 19th, 2009 at 2:05 am
That’s absolutely spot on, bluesunflower. Responding to him and another troll or two, like OlbySuckeththeWeenyGreen, is why the Beck thread ran out over 1150. I don’t know whether it’s Ritalin, Meth, or just too much coffee, but he’s just like that damned never ready rabbit.
Maybe it’s a team troll that’s emulating a single (and singularly daft) personality.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:26 amlux, have you ever heard the saying ‘you can’t legislate morality’?
It is a ridicules notion. All legislation is the legislation of morality. The laws against murder are the legislation of the moral position that murder is wrong. Laws against fraud are the legislation of the moral position that fraud is wrong. Government Handout Programs are the legislation of the moral position that Liberty takes a second seat to Politicians being able to bribe people for votes by promising to give them the fruit of other people’s labor.
The reason that the conversation turns to religion so often, is because morals are a matter of religious world view.
Somebody who had a religious belief that it takes 2 women to equal 1 man, would set up procedures for evidence in court where in takes the testimony of 2 women to equal the testimony of 1 man in court -> Muslim Sharia Law.
Government and belief systems are inexorably tied.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:30 ameh.. I’m partly to blame for the OTness of it all- I took offense to the slamming of religion.. I won’t humor the trolls anymore..
You guys spend any time over at Politico? That place is a particularly inbred hive of FOX commenters.. you’d get a good laugh reading the comments about the FOX story over there..
I love the conspiracy theory claim that ‘This is how it starts! Now Obama is eliminating free speech! Fox is the only place that tells the truth!’.. my God it’s all so funny if it weren’t real..
It’s Bizarro world.. as has been said here – it’s so Orwellian..
October 19th, 2009 at 2:38 amexcuese me guys, but minutemann, would you please shut up!
goodnight and humbly flight

Impressive. It managed to utter the second dumbest thing ever posted in the same thread it spewed the first dumbest statement ever.

October 19th, 2009 at 2:44 amJohn 8
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
He existed before Abraham, who lived 100’s of years ago. Did not say before Abraham was I was, He said “Before Abraham was, (present tense ->) I am, which is another way of saying – always have been.
In the below quote, Word is capitoliiazed when it is referring to God in the person of Jesus Christ. This is defined in verse 17.
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
. . .
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Word was with God and was God, i.e. Word=God, verse 1. World was made by Him verse 10. Word/God was made flesh full of grace and truth, grace and truth -> Word/God who was made flesh, verse 14. Grace and truth, -> Word/God made flesh, -> Jesus Christ, verse 17.
The Jews were right that there is only one God, so the trinity is the only way to explain it. Why should it not be so, that a being who is self existing, all powerful and outside of time, might be just a little bit hard for our finite minds to comprehend.
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
These are just 2 places where the Bible says that Jesus Christ is God. You can say that you don’t believe the bible if you want to, but don’t blame Christians for believing that Jesus Christ was God, it is right there in the best selling book of all time, God’s word – the Bible.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:12 amHow did do in post 302?
We never did get around to talking about how all Government Welfare/Handout Programs are a violation of the Human Right to Liberty. God is more important anyway. jp sure brought up the subject of God multiple times. I am willing to accommodate.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:21 amminutemann… If your true purpose was an honest interest in bringing people to what you believe.. your first goal would be to not annoy the living crap out of them. Would God reward you for pushing people further away from belief?? Results are what matter..
October 19th, 2009 at 3:34 amlux, are you seriously this misinformed. This is a joke post right? Limbaugh and Beck, sexism, racism, corporations? I have been listening to Limbaugh since 1993, I know him better than many of my family members. Those are all lies told by the Left. I have been listening to Glenn Beck since 2003.
Do you really think they have a “desire to bomb and kill any other country.. ANY other country”. Come on!
Also, I am not following behind them, they are beside me. Glenn is finally getting it, and Rush is still too far Left. Rush still thinks that my unalienable Right to Liberty can be violated by Government Handout Programs. He calls the money that people get from welfare programs, gifts, when it is actually spoil or plunder since the money was wrongfully taken from the Taxpayers.
Also, what is wrong with corporations? aren’t they just a group of people who freely chose to associate with each other for the purposes of commerce? When you think about it, Socialism would be a corporation with everybody in it, except that the Right to not participate is violated by the Majority Mob.
As far the death penalty goes, God instituted it.
Genesis 9
6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Kill means murder, which is a different thing than being put to death after due process of law.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:49 amIt seems to me that a person cannot be saved without getting annoyed. The first step in getting saved is coming to the realization that you have blown it with God and are headed for Hell. The truth will make you free as Jesus said, but I have noticed that first it makes you mad, at least for many people. Who needs a Saviour when there is nothing to be saved from.
Big revivals of the past had the Hell, Fire and Brimstone preaching. Jesus talked about Hell in order to get people to understand how serious this is. Most unsaved people get annoyed at that.

October 19th, 2009 at 4:27 amminutemann – you ask ‘Do you really think they have a “desire to bomb and kill any other country.. ANY other country”. Come on!’
Yes. I do. And if I had a video of them saying they wanted to.. you would still ignore it. They have no respect for anyone but themselves.. and their money.
just like I imagine you ignore this
http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200509090003
and all the vomit that Ann Coulter spews.. she hated the families from 9/11 too.. she thought they were attention seekers… give me a break! Their family members died! How cruel and insensitive can a person be?? I believe in God.. and I believe the only possibility is people like these have no souls. none. She speaks like this to sell books – she makes money from attacking writing books about things like this hatred for the widows of 9/11.. and then has the nerve to call THEM attention seeking!!?! The same for Glenn.. who has made his money off of these types of attacks – and they both have the nerve to act like they are patriots?
There’s simply no way to talk to you people.. you ignore the truth.. I guess because you must be just as bad as they are – I can’t imagine another reason.

there is the third stupidest thing that you said this thread.
killing is killing – simple as that..

this minuteman and his ilk’s ability to to project their own belief onto god. there is no “kill” in that quote, only “shed blood” and shed blood has no other meaning. he can wank around the difference between kill and murder all he wants. typical repub. This is why I don’t waste time arguing with them they take your willingeness to engage as weakness and lie to your face.
October 19th, 2009 at 5:44 amThe motion passes.
In a just world, the CEOs and many of the reporters of all the news outlets would be in jail, for inciting the nation to violence in the build-up to the Iraq War.
If you abuse a right, you lose that right.
PS: The Wingnut Threat Level is at Defcon 4.
October 19th, 2009 at 6:38 amMinuteman YOU are too stupid to breathe. Taxes used for the purposes agreed on democratically are NOT taking your liberty and only the stupidest people on the planet like you CLEARLY are think otherwise. Just get the hell out of our good country if YOU dont want to contribute your fair share. You are a brainwashed moron. I SCHOOLED you on this and you are just too stupid to understand, well, pretty much ANYTHING. Laws about murder are PROTECTION of people. The same with fraud which is stealing peoples money. They are laws protecting others. They are NOT saying you cant kill people because it is immoral rather that you cant HURT OTHER PEOPLE. We do NOT have laws against lying that DOES NOT harm others. Only TWO of the ten commandments are illegal. The FIRST commandement would be completely unconstitutional. This is so simple only someone as completely ignorant as YOU would be unable to see it.
October 19th, 2009 at 7:35 amDoes anyone remember this?….well…is just a reminder, for this is going even stronger and is going to be for a long-long-long time.
JOURNALISM VS MOCKERY OF JOURNALISM;____
A journalist is a contemporary historian. Not only presents events but also investigates analize, provide angles on reflections and in doing so, educates and promote public opinion.____
That, in short , along with others factors not mention here, involves serious journalistic task.___This could be said in regard the latitud of journalism at FOX NEWS AGENCY,….sadly however is not the case found at the tv tabloids (NBC, CNN, MSNBC, CBS ,…etc) nor at tabloids publications such as THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE HUFFINGTON POST, LA TIMES ,…and others as well .___

Very well, mm, I will grant you that Jesus is purported to have said ‘I AM’. But the key is ‘purported’. You don’t have an eyewitness account, for what that might have been worth. The earliest extant copy of the Gospel of John is fragmentary, incomplete, and dates from 100 years or more after the crucifixion. As it happens, that is also the earliest extant copy of any of the Synoptic Gospels, and it also happens that it is ideosyncratic. And what you quote from is probably a second or third order derivative of John; a translation for the KJV from the Vulgate which was a traslation from an earlier coloquial Latin which may or may not have been a translation from the Greek (while whatever Jesus said was in Aramaic and was written down after the fact).
There is no need for you to quote John 1. John 1 is (purportedly) John’s own preachment, not a (purported) direct quote of the words of Jesus.
Matthew, Mark, and Luke all tell similar stories, so much so that some scholars are reasonably sure that they all are derivative of a singular Gospel which did not survive the early period of the church in it’s original form.
There are indications that all of the Gospels, as we see them, were tampered with by gentiles. Any gospel or epistle which refers to Jesus own people by a term used by gentiles and goyim is suspect.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:59 pmBreaking News: ALIENS WITH TINFOIL HATS ON ARE INVADING EARTH TO JOIN REBELLION AGAINST PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!
Lol…
Seriously, how dumb can these people get? And someone actually allows these idiots to vote? I keep saying this, but this is a perfect example of why we need to give potential voters i.q. tests; if their i.q. is less than 70 ( the MR range, I think), then they will not be allowed to vote. WE cannot have FauxNoose-watching idiots have a say in who are representatives will be next year. Who’s with me?
October 20th, 2009 at 9:16 pmAnd the 1st question of my i.q. test will be : Do you consider Fox News to be a reliable news source?
October 20th, 2009 at 9:22 pmIf they say yes, then they are automatically disqualified from voting. If they say no, it’s a source of propaganda, not news, then they will be allowed to vote. I know that this will only happen in my dreams, but a girl can hope, right?
Thank you for your sharing.!
October 23rd, 2009 at 5:40 pmWhen the Obama campaign began, they knew they had a candidate who was not ready for prime time. estetik I’m sure they looked at the media organizations and saw who treated George Bush like an illegitimate boob so they knew they had them in their pocket. burun estetigi The biggest problem they had was Fox News. The people at Fox just wouldn’t go along to get along, they’d ask tough questions, questions that may not have a good answer, questions they might not be prepared for, the other networks would be much more respectful. gögüs büyütme ameliyatlari They’d be respectful because, Obama is black and they wouldn’t want to appear to be attacking him and they also wanted to see a Democrat elected and were willing to bend their coverage to get this accomplished. gögüs estetigi The idea then had to be to delegitimize Fox News. gögüs küçültme ameliyatlari To start this off, Obama said he wouldn’t appear in any debates on Fox News. vajina daraltma ameliyatlari Instead of the other networks calling him on it and wondering why, they went along, all the more for them. lazer epilasyon To me, it was a bad move for those networks because it was the beginning of their demise. karin germe estetigi It worked during the campaign but now they still have one network that stands out as giving people opposing opinions on the Obama plans and they just don’t like it so why not do what worked during the campaign estetik? This strategy will work as long as the other networks go along. This time, however, there seems to be a little (and I mean a little) push-back from the Obama media. karin germe estetigi The NY Times is hinting this might not be a good move, as is the Washington Post. saç ekimi It’s still not enough but they’ll keep it up because, if they go on Fox they will lose the veneer the other networks allow them to keep. This smells of Rahm Emanuel but I’m sure that David Axelrod is going along with it. yag aldirma ameliyati I don’t believe Obama has enough sense to decide either way because, if he did, he’d tell them he can handle Fox, his ego is that big. kulak estetigi No, Emanuel and Axelrod know that, if Obama goes on Fox they can kiss the 2010 election and the 2012 election good-bye and they can’t risk that.
