Lou Dobbs Slams ‘Vile Stupidity And Ignorance’ Of ‘Annoying’ Geraldo Rivera

This afternoon, Lou Dobbs attacked Fox News host Geraldo Rivera for stating that Dobbs himself is “almost single-handedly responsible for creating, for being the architect of the young-Latino-as-scapegoat for everything that ails this country.” While Rivera accuses Dobbs of defaming an entire race of people, Dobbs insists that he loves immigrants and Latinos and claims that his accusations are nothing but a reflection of Rivera’s “stupidity” and the company of “ethnocentric left-wing activists” that he keeps:

DOBBS: I’m just still fuming over something that Geraldo Rivera said. I shouldn’t let — This guy is nothing but a fiction of his own imagination and a figment of whatever he sees in the mirror. But, I gotta tell you — the guy is so annoying. I should not let people get to me like this, but you know what? I’m starting to get short of patience with them. [...]

Geraldo Rivera wouldn’t know a fact if it hit him in the rear end — and that would probably be an appropriate place if you wanted him to absorb the information. … This is the kind of vile stupidity and ignorance that he spews everywhere he goes.

Listen here:

“Over the years, Lou Dobbs has consistently used his CNN platform to spread hatred and fear,” states Drop Dobbs, one of three campaigns aimed at pressuring CNN to hold Dobbs to journalistic standards or drop him altogether. News Corp. is reportedly “keen” on luring Dobbs over to the Fox Business Channel. However if CNN does drop Dobbs, it doesn’t look like he’ll have too many friends over at Fox. Last week, Dobbs ripped Fox Business News anchor John Stossel as a “self-important ass” with his “own brand of myopic idiocy” after Stossel told Fox News’ “rodeo clown” Glenn Beck that he does not support “the Lou Dobbs-kind of rants about immigrants wrecking America.” Rivera says that one of his Fox News bosses assured him that Dobbs “is not coming to Fox News.”

Lou Dobbs isn’t as think as you drunk he is. ;)

But in all seriousness…I genuinely think that if it were anyone else but Geraldo Rivera, a man with a Latino-sounding name, Lou Dobbs would not be making such a stink over it and specifically calling him out and “still just fuming” over it.

I really dislike Geraldo. He’s among those responsible for bringing unapologetic tabloid “journalism” to network T.V. But, he ain’t stupid. Little Cindy Lou-who, on the other hand, appears to be succumbing to the senseless rage the Reichwhiners all seem to share.

The sheer frustration arising from the fact that nothing has blown up in President Obama’s face is driving them around the bend.

  61. Xisithrus says:

Dobbs, and many others, want to point fingers and say, those people are the problem when the root of the problem is much deeper.

Poverty plays a large part in crime and the resulting incarceration.

I can say It, “I am part of this society that creates inequality and poverty wages that result in crime” I am not proud of that, I am even less proud that we have billionaires telling us that inequality is good and that we must tolerate poverty. Its like saying we should just forget about crime and tolerate it because, you know, its good in the larger sense.

Does the stupid troll really want to cite the Center for Immigration as a source? Does the stupid troll realize that it was founded by an avowed white supremicist? Does he know that their founder has been quoted as saying that ALL immigration should stop until ALL the “illegals” are “shipped back where they came from” and that Rupert’s WSJ called them out for falsifying data?

  71. DallasNE says:

I just did a cut and past of Dobbs rant through a grade level analyzer and Dobbs rant came up with a Flesh-Kincade grade level of 6.03. How speaking at a 6th grade level qualifies Dobbs to question somebody’s smarts falls far short of making his case. That is par for the course for Lou Dobbs. Of course Dobbs would fit right in over at Fox with his 6th grade oratory skill.

  72. Terry says:

Dobbs “slam” is a piece of useless gossip.

  73. Xisithrus says:

If we tolerate inequality and Im fairly sure Dobbs would agree with Lord Greedy MuckyMuck on that, then he should tolerate crime. But that doesnt make him a wealthy man, pointing fingers at bloviating about a problem he does not work to solve, but exacerbate, does.

  74. Xisithrus says:

  78. dbadass says:

“This translates to 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sexual offenders coming across U.S. borders illegally per day.”

    No it doesn’t

  79. Xisithrus says:

DIR, for the sake of argument, lets say all illegals were deported, does that solve the problem of sex crimes?

  80. Zooey says:

The troll probably spends all his time fearing that his daughter will be molested by an illegal alien, while failing to protect her from his white neighbor.

  81. Zooey says:

    January 1999 through April 2006

How many violent crimes were committed by whitey in that time period?

  82. dbadass says:

Well lets both interpolate and extrapolate that shall we? When would you like the data set you propose to have begun?

  83. Gregor Samsa says:

As much as I agree with Dobbs about Rivera, Dobbs is no luminary either -as demonstrated by his

“This guy is nothing but a fiction of his own imagination and a figment of whatever he sees in the mirror”

Lou Dobbs and Geraldo Rivera = Dumb and Dumber

I always try to discourage racist bullshit.

  85. dbadass says:

I think we might be best off by starting with the 12 serial offenders per day part. So when did this problem begin?

  86. Xisithrus says:

Did I, anywhere, insinuate that it would?

Then why post statistics on illegal aliens instead of the root of the problem? I find it moot.

  87. Xisithrus says:

I asked you a straight forward question, DIR, either answer yes or no, please.

  88. pete says:

Funny. We’ve had Bill0 worshipers, Becky worshipers, Lushbo worshipers, and those who defend FAUX or hate radio in general but, I think this is the first time I’ve seen someone willing to give up their self-respect for Little CNNdy Lou-who.

You just keep on believing that, doofus.

  90. dbadass says:

So are we going to get an understanding of your training in research and stats or not? Atleast tell me when this 12 per day shit began so I can show you how f ucked up this is?

  91. Xisithrus says:

A criminal is a criminal in my eyes. It has nothing to do with race or color.
    October 26th, 2009 at 9:04 pm

So why post statistics that are about race and color?

  92. Zooey says:

    Dobbs is right says:

A criminal is a criminal in my eyes. It has nothing to do with race or color.
    October 26th, 2009 at 9:04 pm

So why can’t you come up with violent crime stats on whitey for the time period of January 1999 through April 2006?

    Hmmmm…?

  93. pete says:

And why does the stupid troll continue to post “data” from the Center for Immigration Studies when even the WSJ has confirmed that they make up said “data”?

  94. dbadass says:

That’s it. Take the pussy way out. Vote down baby. You know your bullshit can’t pass mathematical muster…

  95. Reggie says:

    Dobbs is not right says:

Nice try troll but according to the SPLC, CIS is not a reputable source.
The Southern Poverty Law Center’s report reads:

FAIR, Center_for_Immigration and NumbersUSA are all part of a network of restrictionist organizations conceived and created by John Tanton, the “puppeteer” of the nativist movement and a man with deep racist roots…CIS was conceived by Tanton and began life as a program of FAIR. CIS presents itself as a scholarly think tank that produces serious immigration studies meant to serve “the broad national interest.” But the reality is that CIS has never found any aspect of immigration that it liked, and it has frequently manipulated data to achieve the results it seeks.

  96. Zooey says:

The troll must be digging up those statistics…

Being a pussy is sort of a bummer isn’t it?

  98. pete says:

The stupid troll’s sources aren’t getting any better.

Schurman-Kauflin based her findings on a 2005 Government Accountability Office survey that showed 2 percent of illegals in federal, local or state prisons had committed a sex crime. She then applied that percentage to the illegal immigrant population at large. Voila! Instant endemic perversity!

  99. dbadass says:

So 12 per day right? Now what do you think the lifespan of a serial offender might be? See that will be an important part of the math. You are so full of shit and besides you are too much of a pussy to even discuss how full of shit you are…

  100. Zooey says:

I guess Dobbs ain’t so right after all…

  101. pete says:

I’m waiting for the “new” stupid troll to quote Fred Phelps about all those gay “illegals”.

  102. Zooey says:

The troll is funny…but not in a good way.

  103. dbadass says:

I’m not voting anybody down, jerk.

Jerk? Ah come on just tell me about your stats training and when you want you 12/day “model” to begin. Is that so hard?

  104. Xisithrus says:

I dont know what thread your talking about DIR but maybe they did some research and found that information CNN used to be credible. Just because Dobbs, opinionista, goes off on some rant doesnt mean all of CNNs information is inaccurate.

  105. pete says:

That was a rare typo. I should have written, “Center for Immigration Studies”. Of course, since the stupid troll is the one who interjected that particular, widely condemned, group into the conversation? He should have realized that.

  106. Reggie says:

Correction to my post @ 106

US authorities rescued 52 children from prostitution rings and arrested nearly 700 people during a nationwide sting operation over the weekend, the FBI announced Monday.

Keep it classy, Lou. Dobbs is now the Obama Bin Laden to the Latino organizations. I’m not a fan of Geraldo Rivera. But it is enjoyable to read one wingnut attacking another wingnut.

  122. pete says:

dbadass, the crises has been averted. I found a can of clam chowder in the cupboard (I know, but I was hungry) and I’m chasing it with a rootbeer float. But I am going to have to track down some mussels.

  123. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    To Mr Lou Dobbs,

Much as it pains me to defend Geraldo Rivera, I feel it should be done. Following a series of newspaper articles in the Staten Island Advance and Staten Island Register newspapers, Geraldo Rivera did a report for WABC-TV in NYC about the inhumane and deplorable conditions at Willowbrook State School, an institution for developmentally dissabled people, including children. I remember those reports. After an initial on-the-record visit, Rivera returned with hidden cameras to find that many children who had been dressed and neat-looking on the previous visit were now naked and covered with filth on his next visit. (They had cleaned up the kids for the interview.) I’ll let a website about Willowbrook take it from there:

In November 1971, The Staten Island Advance published a series of articles detailing the horrible conditions at the school. Following these articles, in January 1972, Geraldo Rivera, the television reporter, began a series of programs that shook the conscience of New York State and the nation and inspired parents and others to take legal action. The end result was the signing of a consent judgment in federal court in 1975.

The Consent Judgment has been called “revolutionary” because of what it accomplished and for what it inspired. The closure of Willowbrook, the placement of individuals with developmental disabilities in community residences, the growth of voluntary agencies and the expansion of day programs and special education can all be linked to the Judgment. The Judgment finally recognized and enforced the rights of individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. And is now the model used throughout the United States and in many parts of the world.

My question to you, Mr Dobbs, is this: What have you ever done that had such great impact on the lives of people throughout the world?

P.S. I don’t know what happened to Rivera after that to turn him into the person we see on Fox News Channel today.

    ;)

Reading the linked article was very informative, thank you.
It also reinforced my opinion that the ordeal of bureaucratic paperwork confronting an immigrant would be enough for some to slump their shoulders, go find a cup of coffee and think of something easier.

I fully understand my family myth of having great-grampas name changed by an official at Ellis Island as being a convenient way to dodge the fact that in reality, many immigrants chose to leave behind as much as possible of the Old World, and homogenize better with the New.

In one generation, our native language was left behind, and no one wanted to talk about it.
Being a male Swede, this was particularly easy for my ancestor.

Since I brought it up, the term “dumb Swede” originated from the fact that they didn’t talk much, at all, about anything, not because they were stupid.
    :)
