eBay refuses to allow auction for Roeder’s defense fund.

The Kansas City Star is reporting that eBay has decided to prevent a planned online auction organized to support the defense fund of Scott Roeder, the accused murder of Dr. George Tiller. EBay said that the auction violated its policy against “offensive material” and would not be allowed. EBay made its announcement on the same day the family of Dr. George Tiller issued a personal appeal to the company to intervene and prevent the scheduled auction:

“These materials contain hate messages, glorify violence against abortion doctors who provide constitutionally protected medical services, and instruct on means of violence, including bombing, of abortion clinics,” said Lee Thompson, an attorney for the Tiller family, in a letter sent to eBay on Tuesday and approved by Tiller’s widow, Jeanne Tiller. “We urge you to deny access to the resources of eBay for this reprehensible and vile ‘auction.’”

The decision by eBay followed a week of increasing national criticism. Anti-choice activists organized the auction to help fund Roeder’s defense, and items being donated included “an Army of God manual, a prison cookbook compiled by a woman doing time for abortion clinic bombings and arsons, and several autographed drawings submitted by Roeder.”

Some of these “right-to-lifers” are amazingly violent, murderous people.

Why won’t the churches forthrightly and openly condemn these crazies?

There’s no difference between these radical “right-to-lifers” and the jihadists in the Middle East. Both mis-using religion as a tool of hate and violence.

Fcuk that. The execution should be on national television so Roeder is made an example of.

Roeder murdered a man in CHURCH.

How convenient that his supporters, in their Randall Terry-induced psychosis, forget that fact.

Roeder should not be put to death. That would only make him a martyr to his sick cause.

He should rot in the general population of the worst prison in the country for every moment of the rest of his sorry-assed life.

I so agree with that. These people are so obsessed, they are insane. When I heard the news of Tiller’s murder, I looked up at the sky and lamented: “Why can’t these people stop obsessing and live their lives?!”

The wingnuts are running out of things to sell. There have been reports in the last couple of years of people taking out mortgages on their homes, to donate the money to various right wing extremist causes. Now we see they are pawning off their personal possessions in an online garage sale. Keep going nutjobs…pretty soon they will be selling seeds door to door.

  19. paleolib says:

The KC Star article is incredible. Seeing nutbags simultaneously call the murder of an unarmed man in a church “justifiable homicide” while claiming that a private corporation’s refusal to participate in their hatemongering violates their first amendment rights provides a frightening look at how much like the Taliban this violent mob is. Good luck finding a webmaster capable of setting up an auction site you bloodthirsty jihadists.

A single cell? You’re assuming they even had a brain to begin with. They get their marching orders from the Bible (and Randall Terry). No brain necessary.

There’s no difference between these radical “right-to-lifers” and the jihadists in the Middle East. Both mis-using religion as a tool of hate and violence.

Point taken, though there is one difference: the jihadists are courageous.

A pro-lifer, by contrast, will get drunk as a skunk, goad himself inot action, shoot a bunch of innocent people, then scuttle off to wait for the cops to pick him up.

Right-wingers are cowards–degenerate white males, by and large. You’ll never see one of these weenies blow himself up.

But, if you’re going to televise it…I may as well tune in. You know, unless it pre-empts House (let’s face it. if any network would broadcast a live execution, it would be Fox)

Speech inciting hate and violence, either as a platform or towards another person, is always outlined as being a sure way to get your account revoked.

Maybe they can do an art segment on Roeder’s sketches and get Dooshy to try out some of those recipes on “FUX and Friends”.

Rush Limbaugh(draft-dodger, druggie, child rapist) and Glen beck (serial liar, bat-$#it crazy, unapologetic right-whiner) support you, so why should anyone support the old-style of politics that was voted out in 2008?

You “claim” to be against deficit spending, but where were your concerns when the GOP was borrowing and spending from 2000 through 2008? Why do you hate equal rights for all Americans? Why are you running on an anti-Bush Administration platform AFTER Pres. Bush left office?

Too little, too late. You are a throw-back to the “GOP that was” from 2000 to 2008. You are not what New York, nor what the USA deserves in 2010.

Yes, I’m sure there are a number of matter on which you and I can agree. What topics would you like to suggest?

I’m very much of the opinion that claiming “traditional marriage” to reject equal-rights for gay couples falls into exact same category of “mixed race marriage is non-traditional, therefor should not be allowed”. How can you support double-standard rules for Americans based on one single category?

When you claim to be against deficit spending, where was your “voice of reason” 8 years back when Pres. Bush and the majority Republican House & Senate ran the federal government by borrowing and spending?

Why didn’t you raise your voice against the tax cuts skewed heavily at the top 1% and almost completely ignored the bottom 99%? Where was your “concern” for the public debt that balooned almost 100% between 2000 (then @ 5.67 trillion) and 2008 (now @ 10.06 trillion)?

  77. cd says:

    @ Shayne 69

You’ve got a lot of nerve to claim that no where in America is there a single Church that openly condemned the shooting of Dr Tiller.

Cardinal Justin Rigali of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops stated
“Our bishops’ conference and all its members have repeatedly and publicly denounced all forms of violence in our society, including abortion as well as the misguided resort to violence by anyone opposed to abortion. Such killing is the opposite of everything we stand for, and everything we want our culture to stand for: respect for the life of each and every human being from its beginning to its natural end. We pray for Dr. Tiller and his family.”

Tony Perkins, President of the conservative Family Research Council, condemned the killing, saying, “We are stunned at today’s news. As Christians we pray and look toward the end of all violence and for the saving of souls, not the taking of human life. George Tiller was a man who we publicly sought to stop through legal and peaceful means. We strongly condemn the actions taken today by this vigilante killer and we pray for the Tiller family and for the nation that we might once again be a nation that values all human life, both born and unborn”

The American Jewish Congress stated in a press release that Tiller’s murder “exemplifies criminal anarchy, not legitimate protest. Dr. Tiller’s murder was not just a terrible crime against an individual. It was also a crime against our democracy… Murder is not a debating technique. It is never, and must never be, an accepted way of advancing a point of view.”

And of those Churches who didn’t call attention to themselves (including a number that are pro-choice) do you think they were happy?

Are you really so insane that you think the Lutheran Church was happy one of it’s usher got shot in Church on Sunday morning?

You and all those who voted in agreement with your post should be ashamed of yourselves but frankly I suspect you lack the capacity to feel shame.

    Do you get that Shayne?

I hear you CD. I was raised Methodist, and a kinder bunch of people you never want to meet. Our church was plain and ugly as Hell, which I was always proud of, because we spent our money on the poor and needy. We’re as liberal as they come. Perhaps some Southern Methodist’s stayed quiet, but all the Western Methodist’s I know are furious and saddened that things have come to this.
