Anti-choice activists attempt to subvert eBay efforts to prevent Roeder auction.

An online auction to raise money for the defense fund of Scott Roeder, the accused murder of Dr. George Tiller, launched last night on eBay despite the company’s pledge to prevent it. Late last week, eBay announced that the planned auction violated its policy toward offensive materials which “does not permit listings that benefit someone charged with or convicted of a crime.” eBay stated that it would “not permit the items in question to be posted to the eBay site,” adding that they would be “removed if they are posted.” But organizers temporarily subverted these restrictions by posting “less contentious” items and using “spellings that make searches difficult.” TPMMuckraker posted a slideshow of the items Roeder’s supporters planned to auction, but now reports that they have been removed from the eBay website.

These people are just sick pigs. Period.

  2. Zooey says:

Are there any pictures of “God,” the most prolific abortionist EVER?

how these people remember how to breathe is a wonder to me.

    Hyperinflation says:

muslim extremeists that kill our troops “deserve representation” according to you peeps and the aclu, but, this man doesn’t?

Did the short bus leave you at the bus-stop again? No one’s saying he shouldn’t be represented, but to gather a bunch of hogs together in a courtroom – as he must be judged by his peers – is a daunting task.

let him get a public defender.

    But — but — but — that’s socialism!

  9. barfly says:

And the full picture, complete with Etruscan helmet, shows how little these goobers know of ancient history. And supposedly biblical history at that.

  10. Buckie Boy says:

These people are sick in the head, and the people that would buy this crap are even sicker…

….christians, my butt….this would make Jesus weep for what he has created and what man bastardized.

    Hyperinflation babbles:
muslim extremeists that kill our troops “deserve representation” [...] but, this man doesn’t?

Has anyone here said this man deserves no representation?

If cannot afford a lawyer, the court can appoint one for him -you do know that, right?

Plus, it violates eBay’s policy; why do you hate a free-market?

  12. barfly says:

I’d like to know what the artist is in for.

Robbery? Drugs? Sex crimes? It will be something like that, I’m betting.

    *yawn*

our little “vote down troll” is back but still hasn’t worked up the nerve to come out in daylight to make a comment…

I’m glad to see you are equating conservatives to Muslim Extremist Terrorists. Indeed, they are no different. Both groups should be locked away.

  16. spearNmagicHelmet says:

    dude was murdered.

    in church.

what else is there to say?

  17. Tallygirl says:

That is vile and sacriligious (isn’t that supposed to be David and Goliath?) and how dare those people think they’re doing God’s work.

(Roeder is the artist, isn’t he?)

  18. spearNmagicHelmet says:

nobody knows jesus like those dr. killing christians!!

  19. USNclerk says:

You know, with all the hypocrisy the religious right spews about abortion, I think I could spend all eternity parked outside the gates of heaven with a lawn chair and a case of beer while watching these nutcases try to avoid final judgement.

  20. Chyron HR says:

I really like how the artist captured the long, flowing locks that Dr. Tiller did not have. I guess that’s why he helpfully wrote “TILLER” on the victim’s forehead.

  21. Fred says:

Hyperinflation, if you think this man deserves defense then you admit that anyone who enters our legal system deserves it too.

You built the corner you painted yourself into. Don’t you get tired of that?

  22. DNFP says:

The level of sophistication in this “art” is parallel to the immature and limited mindset of the GOP.

  23. Zimzone says:

Has Billdo O’Really visited him in jail yet?

Has Beckerhead explained what a devout Christian Roeder is?

I’m surprised FoxSuckers doesn’t have a ‘cell cam’ on him 24/7.

  24. roboticus says:

It’s amusing to note that, in order to push their agenda, little trifles like the wishes of the site owners (ebay’s management) are of no matter to Roeder’s supporters. I’m sure they would be the first to howl if their rights were trampled, but the rights of other property owners?

But then, they don’t see a problem with killing people who don’t follow their political and spiritual agenda, so issues of property rights are just noise to them,

  25. Xisithrus says:

Waste of money to defend Roeder, just sayin…

  26. EnnuiDivine says:

It’s a travesty that Kansas still has capital punishment. Roeder is a sick man and belongs removed from society for the rest of his life, but executing the schizophrenic falls under cruel and unusually.

Gang raping the schizophrenic doctor murderer is a little less clear.

Roeder deserves the best defense he can afford. And, when he is found guilty in a fair trial by his peers, he deserves life without the possibility of parole.

  27. Xisithrus says:

    Logic 101

If your a pro-lifer Roeder think about this — he took a life. Ergo he is against your cause.

  30. majii says:

Why aren’t Roeder’s supporters hosting bake sales and car washes to raise money for his defense, why aren’t they placing collection jars in convenience stores, getting contributions from charities, or selling chicken dinners at local churches?

Oh, I forgot. That’s what some republicans/conservatives say is a viable substitute for lack of funds to pay health care costs when defending corporate greed.

Maybe they can get FreedomWorks, Focus on the Family, Operation Rescue, or some other rw organizations to contribute to hire a lawyer for this man.

Yeah, I’m sure that Armey, Dobson, and Terry will come rushing to rescue him from the Obama-indoctrinated socialist-provided public defender.

  31. Art says:

    “organizers temporarily subverted these restrictions”

Normal everyday rules don’t apply to them, of course.

  32. Leftside Annie says:

Good grief, these sick bastards give me the creeps!!!!

  33. Bobwurst says:

    Xisithrus says:

Waste of money to defend Roeder, just sayin…

I got to disagree with you here. Everyone deserves a fair trial and a rigorous defense, especially the obviously guilty and horrible abhorrent people. John Gacy, Tim McVie, this asshat, even george bush and dick cheney all deserve the best defense and an honest prosecution. If for no other reason than that preserves equal justice for the rest of us.

  34. Pilotshark says:

well ever penny gotten from a auction should all go to the client of choice of the Tillers. that would be fitting have the money support a Doctor who is doing there jobs.

  35. Virtual Pebble says:

I know we’re not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but these flat-line brain-damaged zombies that are supporting Roeder have all the aesthetics (taste) of a junior high kid with a paint-by-numbers kit. Sheeyit, not even that good; I’ve seen better art from elementary school kids. That drawing is just horrid; the sentiment is rotten and the artist should stick to his or her day job.

And for the trolls, I might add that putting the late Dr. Tiller’s name across the forehead of a decapitated person puts this in the category of “political cartoon”, and there are politcal cartoonists, even on the right, whose work is far superior to that dreck.

  36. Just Hormiga says:

Absolutely disgusting! Roeder’s supporters ought to be caged.

  37. MapleStreet says:

Why would they think they don’t need to play by the rules on EBay ?

  38. noseeum says:

The sample art looks like it may have been heavily influenced by the cartoons passed out in some backwater Sunday school.

Ranting of the American fascist Taliban…. and we were worried about Muslim terrorist criminals……..

  40. jbrantow says:

Why do these disturbed teabagger zealots think it’s just fine to break any rules when they feel like it but spew words of hate and division if anyone else attemts to to something they find objectional. They are sick twisted zealots.

Geez, that’s just the piece I have been looking for to brighten up the den…

Just don’t be selling any of them there Maplethorpes eh freakshows?

  43. dbadass says:

Will it conflict with my John Wayne Gacy? Maybe I’ll just put it in the kid’s room…

  44. dbadass says:

I can’t believe it took me this long to come up with the obvious! Let’s name this piece shall we?

Is Motif #4 already taken? If so maybe “Tunic Tummy with Decapitated Head”

  45. dbadass says:

“The dead lay in pools of maroon below”

  46. Virtual Pebble says:

    @ 46. dbadass …

How about “Daffy brings forth his pro-life credentials”?

Actually, apart from the name across the decapitated head, the shitbird cartoon is immediately recognizable as a very bad rendition of “David with the head of Goliath”. Here’s a link to a page of links to various paintings and artist’s studies (cartoons) for precisely that subject; most are Renaissance era, but there are a couple of moderns:

Anytime the wingnuts decide to co-opt eBay for their wingnutty schemes by putting wingnut memorabilia up on eBay, concerned eBayers should just bid the items up to incredibly high amounts. If the wingnut seller doesn’t cancel the auction and the concerned eBayer is stuck as the winner, the latter can just refuse to pay. Sure, the wingnut will probably give the eBayer a bad buyer rating. But, to me at least, a couple of bad ratings would be worth the satisfaction of foiling the wingnut’s plans. (BTW: The eBayer could always provide an explanation for the bad rating on his/her eBay profile).

And these are the people who spazz out over the removal of some tissue from a woman’s womb? I hope I live to see the day xtians are the minority (or non-existent) in America.

  49. Mark701 says:

When I see things like this it becomes obvious that a relatively large percentage of Americans have gone insane.I mean that in a literal sense. We are a country in dire need of some kind of national therapy.
